This caged Kalixian is wild. Brutal. Dangerous.

So why can’t I stay away from him?

With the marks tattooed on his face and horns sharpened to deadly points, he looks like a monster made for killing. He’s unlike any of the other alien warriors on this planet, and despite their efforts to help him, he only seems to be growing more feral.

But every time I go to visit him, something strange happens.

He stops pacing.
He goes still.
He stares at me.

When his bright golden eyes focus on me, it’s like every layer of armor I’ve ever worn is peeled away. Even though he can’t understand a word I say, I swear he… sees me.

In those moments, I’m certain I can glimpse the man inside the beast. I’m certain there’s more to him than just violence and rage.

But when disaster strikes one day and I find myself on the run with the savage Kalixian, everything I think I know about him is put to the test. Can I truly trust this man? Can he keep me safe in this perilous landscape?

Or is he the most dangerous thing in the wilds of Kalix?

Tamed is a full-length standalone sci-fi romance featuring hot alien gladiators with huge… horns, a sweet heroine with a broken heart, and a gruff, dangerous hero who softens only for his fated mate.

If you like hot aliens, sweeping adventure, and steamy romance, you’ll love this series. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a happily ever after guaranteed!

Note: each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that the series be read in order.

I love reading romance, baking (well... eating) cookies, and binge-watching sci fi shows with my husband. I'm a sucker for a dirty talking alpha with a heart of gold, and I write stories about fierce aliens and the strong Earth women they fall in love with.

Sophie and Caul - Sophie is from the group of human women rescued before they were put up for auction in Damaged. Caul is the feral, battle hardened slave that was also held in a cage in the same warehouse to be sold as a fighter for the underground fighting rings. When the Kalixian’s rescued them, Caul had to be tranquillized so he didn’t hurt himself or any of the rest of them.

Once they arrive on Kalix and Sophie is given a place to live, she doesn’t feel comfortable anywhere in the city, she is only at ease in one place. The holding area where the feral alien is being kept. She doesn’t know why she feels that way, but is drawn to the place. At first she just wanted to make sure he was treated ok, but she kept returning.

This book was told in dual points of view and narrated by C.J.Grey and Joy Beharie. C.J. Grey is great as usual, though I didn’t really like Joy’s voice. It is funny, all the other books so far were narrated by C.J. and Meg Price and I didn’t really like Meg’s voice at the beginning, but grew to like it after a few books, now I was used to her and didn’t really like the new one. I think she was just too loud and she had a southern accent, which I don’t mind at all, I think it was her tempo or something.

This was a good story, like most in the series so far. I like the fierce and feral Hero and the meek human female story. It was so hot in the escape from the warehouse when Caul gets out and goes up against all the guards and kills the majority of them. Caul was very large and strong and he was a trained fighter, so he was a great Hero. This book was super steamy and romantic.

**2/5 stars**

When the Kalixian warriors rescued the women from the auction on Nierra, they also decided to save another captive: a fellow Kalixian who, because of his wild behavior, had to be subdued and tranquilized for the journey back to Kalix. Since they weren’t sure how to communicate with him and worried about his aggressive tendencies, they kept him caged and separate from the others. Sophie, one of the rescued women, feels a strong pull towards this troubled Kalixian and is determined to help him. She soon learns his name is Caul. Even though they don’t speak the same language, Sophie quickly understands that Caul isn’t a beast, he's just a man weighed down by fear and a painful past.

Sophie was sweet and compassionate, though she often talked about her late husband; way too much for my liking. I admired her patience with Caul and her genuine efforts to reassure him.

I move closer to the bars of the cage as she approaches. I want to be near her. I’ve seen her several times now, and every time I do, something so deep in my soul that I don’t even have a name for it responds to her. She makes me feel… calmer.-Caul

As for Caul, his behavior was rooted in fear. His inability to understand anyone only intensified his anxiety and aggression. Even though he saw that the Kalixian warriors looked like him, he couldn’t tell if they meant to help or harm him, given his traumatic history of being enslaved and forced into arenas since childhood.

If they treat him like an animal, why are they so surprised when he acts like one? What else do they expect him to do?-Sophie

Overall, I really didn’t connect with this couple. They lacked chemistry, partly due to their language barriers for much of the book, and the story itself felt quite dull. I would have loved to see Caul adapt to Kalixian culture, especially since he’d grown up never knowing anything about Kalix. Instead, Caul broke out of his cage at the first opportunity, kidnapped Sophie, and took her into the forest where he believed they'd be safe. Their camping trip turned out to be so uneventful. Big miss.

This warrior is a very self controlled "untamed" warrior.
It is different from the rest of the series because he's feral and cannot speak. I also couldn't get past his looks, he has a ring through his nose and facial tattoos. Aside from that, I don't have a thing for Neanderthals, I'm attracted to intelligent men.

I did not enjoy this book as much as the others. It was mostly sex. I wanted more adventure, more drama, a little more angst. The ending was predictable. Another thing that bugged me; on page 80 she was terrified and then in the next paragraph she was not terrified. WTF? There was too much inner dialogue. I understand that the big guy was having chip translator issues but it was really irritating. If you're reading the series you can probably skip this one. Nothing crucial and the characters don't seem too important to the overall arc of the story. Also, on Amazon in the reviews there is a review that is basically cliff notes in case you want to skip this book. The review was dated June 2, 2021.

Series Overview: This is a cracky kind of SFR where the heroes are all horned, loincloth-wearing and ribbed for her pleasure. The insta-love doesn't bypass the issue of consent and the couples usually have lots and lots o'sex on the road to an HEA. The stories hit many of the familiar tropes and there's a comfort in that. My issues are that Ms. Hall tends to over-explain - why describe a scene with one paragraph when you can use three? That type of thing. It worked in some books for me, but overall, I just think it could have benefitted from some judicious editing. The resolution to their romantic conflict almost always comes very early (heh) in the story. And the sex was fine but this isn't a series that necessarily works as a binge because the samey-ness to the stories really stands out. It's the tropes - depending on which ones are your faves, that's what determines if it works for you IMO.

Individual Books (I would choose your own adventure and read as you like, don't think it's crucial to read in order)

Tamed: Beauty and the Beast trope - possibly my fave but I'm a complete sucker for this trope. 4 stars

Another mind blowing addition to the Khalaxian fated mate series, with another round of communication barriers similar to Broken with Jade and Brele. Only this time, there’s even more excitement with taming the feral beast and boy does Sophie tame him 😉.

Sophie doesn’t have anything to lose nor gain now that she has been rescued by the Khalaxian warriors. But, she does feel a pull to the intimidating beast that the Khalaxian has saved as well that she is unable to understand.

Caul has never experienced happiness, only torture and captivity. When he’s taken once again by what he believes to be masters, except they look just like him, he’s still defensive and held captive, still not able to understand anything anyone is saying. But there is a small female that comes to visit him regularly and she makes him feel things he has never felt before.

These twos journey of getting to know one another is like none other. Their passion and desire towards the other is enough to bring the walls down of anyone. The interest Sophie shows towards helping Caul learn and feel welcomed, filled with so much love and helpfulness. And, Caul is such a gentle soul with one hell of a protective side that will leave you wanting a Caul of your own! Hands down, one of the best additions to an amazing series!

I LOVED IT! I could not get enough of this story. I fell in love with Caul and Sophie...both with damaged pasts yet against all obstacles, they find love with one another. This cleverly written prose will wrap you up in its intensity. I think this is one of the best series in this genre. Presley Hall has herself a ten star read. Download and enjoy!❤️❤️❤️

Dnf. He suddenly completely recovers linguistic ability by the miracle of making out. This also changes him from feral to townie. The chip makes it so he can understand all languages, not so he can speak his own. He would have been able to speak his native language still, not be entirely lacking the ability to speak. If the damaged chip damaged his ability to create speech it seems like it would cause other brain damage. I am happy to suspend disbelief for lots of things for the genre. Hot humanoid aliens obsessed with aquiring and lavishing adoration on human women? Sure, I’m with you! Hero goes from grunting lunk to fluent speaker just in time to get clear consent? I’m out

Still in her recognisable style, but I kept waiting for the actual plot, and it ended up just being about the two main characters’ relationship without a lot of variety.

Caul and Sophie

They are rescued from the building used to hold those being auctioned as slaves. Caul was kidnapped when he was very young and as he grew to his impressive size was trained to fight and was pitted against other beings to the death. He was tortured and abused during his entire captivity and had his translator chip crushed by one master for punishment so he couldn't understand anyone. When he and Sophie first met they were very attracted to each other. He had to be sedated for the escape and flight to Kalix but she still stayed by his side, spoke to him and holding his hand. Sophie had been married on Earth but her husband died young from brain cancer. She had become a little bit of a loner and after two years was still grieving, thinking that it would be a betrayal to try to love again. He was put in a room in a cage to protect him and everyone. They discovered his chip was broken and malfunctioning and tried to remove it and put a new one in but he almost died on the operating table so they had to stop. When he awakened there was a misunderstanding and she was hurt when the guard moved her out of the way of a very upset Caul. He thought they were still slaves and thought the guards were mistreating her so he attacked them to protect her, then grabbing her, leaving the guards for deaf and escaped deep in the forest outside of Jocia. They lived in the forest, gathered berries and he fought animals for their food. They slept on a grass and leaf bed in a cave and bathed and got their water from a nearby pond. They got closer and eventually mated, not either of them understanding about the mate bond. He is Kalixian but was very young when he was abducted and she is a human from Earth and new to the planet. She was slowly teaching him words so that maybe they could communicate which may have triggered his chip because he suddenly could speak and understand everything. A while later his chip malfunctioned and then he became incoherent with head pain. About the same time a search party found them, she explained what was happening and they called for a ship, took him to a technically advanced planet where they were able to switch out the chip. They return home, meet the king and queen and find out the guards survived and would recover completely. Caul begs the forgiveness of the king and queen, which is granted and also requests to become a warrior. His training is going well and they are becoming friends with some of the warriors and human women. It is explained to them about the mate bond and are given a house to live in. He becomes emotional and tells her it's the first home he remembers ever having and they proceed to get comfortable with their new life. The next story will be about Sophie's friend, Nadia.

Ehh.

I didn’t exactly “read” this properly mind you, I read a bit, skimmed, and jumped right into the entire series staring with this one instead of in order from the first one (bc this series can be read as a stand alone so why the heck not?).

So I’m probably grossly biased but… It’s basic.

The broody, huge, feral alien man was less then “meh”, he was like an “heh”. Like a scoff of air punctuating his unimportance. He was “feral” sure but he wasn’t totally feral. The hype the intro spouted about how he calmed for her and no one else wasn’t really capitalized on the way I thought it would be it was more like, slightly acknowledged, a given and then treated like more of a, “moving on!” type of deal. He wasn’t some big bad monster Beauty had to tame much to the awe of his well meaning captors it was more like, a stray and wary dog learning to trust a human and becoming more and more puppy like and trained. Not what the intro had me thinking this dude would be like. Not at all.

So it was disappointing to say the least.

On top of that this book is marketed as a “stand alone” and yet the entire beginning was jolty, and jumpy. As a reader diving in literally at the middle of this series I was greeted upon my arrival with an opening that read like I should have been three books deep already and geared up to ace the state champion spelling B with pockets of prior knowledge and insights.

For example, we hardly get a real introduction to the girl. We get hints and peeks sure, but they’re not real dives into her person or character and life like it would be if SHE was the main character of book #1.

She’s hard to relate to and like as such. She’s withdrawn, she’s been married, bereaved, and it feels as if she prefers the company of men to women simply out of the resentment that despite not going out of her way to form companionships with the other women, she still seems to expect them to ignore her hostile, ungrateful, and prickly exterior, and fall all over themselves offering to be her friends anyways. She’s not strong and unique. She’s hallow and incomplete.

So “Ehh.” But more like, “ehck”. 😐

"Tamed" is the story of Caul- a feral Kalixian who was rescued from a slave auction along with a group of human women back in book seven ("Damaged"). He was filled with rage and violence and was tranquilized by his rescuers in order to bring him safely back to their planet Kalix. The heroine is Sophie- a young widow who was one of the rescued women. She worries for his wellbeing and is inexplicably drawn to Caul despite his ferocity and inability to communicate or understand their language. He is kept in a guarded cage to ensure the safety of others from his rage until they can repair the multi-language chip implant in his head and communicate with him. Sophie checks on him regularly, though she doesn't understand why she is compelled to do so, and her presence calms him. When Caul manages to escape and takes Sophie with him, will she remain at his side and try and help him see past the horrors he's suffered and trust the people around him, or will she return to the safety of the Kalaxian city, away from an alien who's known only violence?

I have been dying to read this book ever since I heard we would be getting Caul's story. The first glimpse we see of him in "Damaged" is so out-of-control and enraged- but also painful because you know something horrible drove him to that point. I've been drawn to him ever since and wanted to learn his story, and this book did NOT disappoint! Some of my favorite characters tend to be the tortured heroes- ones who have suffered some great pain in their lives and yet still show such kindness and strength rather than hatred upon the world. Caul is that man and won me over hard! Sophie is such a good-hearted person, seeing through to who he is rather than his intimidating appearance. Her caring and patience is a treasure and she is perfect for him.

I loved this book! I would love to have another one revolving around these two characters. Definitely give this a read! 5 stars!

Sophie, a kidnapped victim from earth, has been rescued from abusive aliens by the Kalixians, and in that rescue, they have also rescued a tormented and seemingly wild, uncontrollable, abused Kalixian named Caul. They have to sedate him because he cannot understand any language and does not comprehend that these people who look similar are trying to help. His translator has been purposely broken to further hurt him. He has had to fight for his life ever since he was a small child, and if he did not fight, he would be beaten by his owners. Sophie feels his pain, and for some reason unknown to her tries to comfort him. He is calmed as long as she is near and no one is perceived to be hurting her. However, when it appears that the guards, who are trying to protect Sophie from him, push her away from the wild alien, she hits her head, and the wild man goes berserk. He attacks the guards (thinking he has killed them, and for the first time, feels remorse for his actions), and he and Sophie escape into the forest. There they learn to communicate in other ways until miraculously Caul’s translator begins to work. (I thought at the time that the occurrence was too easy, but Presley Hall didn’t make it easy for them.) For a time, the two verbally communicated and the passion soars. Then Caul falls into excruciating head pain and cannot understand her anymore. It is at this moment they are found by the warriors who have been looking for them all this time. Caul is taken back to their planet’s home where they operate. After all the abuse and horror of his life, he now has someone who loves him. Readers will sympathize with this warrior and his story; they will cheer when he finds the love of a good woman like Sophie, and they will love this addition to the Kalixian Fated Mates series.

One of my favorites in the whole series💖💖

I've read each and every One of the books in this series and I've enjoyed all of them all, but this one was special. This one was all about the characters, their relationship, and how their pasts effected everything about them. There was no other horrible danger facing them other than a malfunctioning language chip. It was except storytelling and relationship building. Sophie was stolen to be a bride but was taken to auction to be sold instead. That is where she met Caul for the first time. Tortured , wild and savage a warrior with no equal. When they are rescued she find out the savage warrior is Kalixian but he's never seen others of his own kind, he can't understand anyone and lashes out in anger. Sophie is drawn to him and visits him every day to and I she she is okay. When a misunderstanding happens Caul break out and takes Sophie with him. She stays with him because she doesn't want him to be caged or punished. They flee into the forest where they find a cave, waterfall and each other. They teach each other words to communicate, and survival skills and begin to see into the soul of the other. Watching these two characters explore each other and the world around them is heart warming and beautiful. Their relations unfolds naturally and passion grows quickly. But it's the trust, and friendship that blossoms between them that is amazing. So we'll down the chemistry real and the sense that they save one another tangible. Love ever minute of it. Highly recommend you won't be disappointed 💖!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Another excellent addition to this series

I loved everything about this book. Sophie was one of the human women rescued by the Kalixians from a slave auction. In the course of their rescue, they find a Kalixian warrior who is also up for sale. Since he is one of their own, they rescue him too. However, he’s nearly feral, and his communicator chip is broken so he can’t communicate with who he thinks are his newest captors. He doesn’t understand that they want to help him. Sophie doesn’t understand why she’s so drawn to him, she just knows that she has to protect him.

Of course we all know this is the mate bond. But, as usual, Ms. Hall weaves a common thread among all the books while at the same time telling a story that is unique to the main characters. It was very satisfying to see the relationship between Sophie and Caul unfold. His need for her, as well as his confusion about these new feeling he’s trying to process. And for Sophie to work through falling in love with someone else, after the death of her husband before she was abducted. World building and character development are thorough and very satisfying.

There’s no cliffhanger, and the epilogue introduces the FMC for the next book, Pursued. You don’t have to have read the previous books in this series prior to reading this one, but I highly recommend that you do. It really does make the experience more enjoyable.

A Kalixian, Caul, stolen as a child, is rescued at the same time as a group of human women is rescued from slave traders.

One of the rescued women , Sophie, keeps coming to visit him, but he cannot speak or understand her, and Caul thinks these aliens only barely look like him. He has been a pit fighter for years, and when he refused to fight and kill a female slave, his owners broke his language translating chip implant into pieces while it was still implanted in his brain, causing chronic pain. Now he cannot understand any language, and fears he is going to be sold again, and that the women are being held as slaves too. Sophie keeps visiting him, he finds her calming, until a guard pulls her away from his cage, and Fail goes berserk, breaking the bars, and assaulting both guards, Sophie is unconscious from a push into a wall, so Fail grabs her and flees into the wilderness, thinking that that is the only way to protect her. They live there as Sophie fights her attraction to the huge Wildman, then she starts teaching him English, in days he has learned hundreds of words, then his implant kicks back in, even though shattered, his neurons have connected with part of it, then the pain hits, more severe than it was as a broken chip, It's now killing him because of the new connections. Can Sophie find help for him? She already lost a husband to a brain tumor, can she bear to lose Caul to this when they have just discovered that they love each other?

After the rescue of humans and one Kalixian from the slave market, human Sophie feels an inexplicable draw to the damaged Kalixian who is currently for everyone's protection in a cage. Over time, as much as they try to help him he becomes even more feral and bizarrely it is only when Sophie is there that he stops pacing and just stares at her. He doesn't seem to understand anyone but she is convinced he is in there and can somehow see the real her. Then disaster strikes one day and she wakes to find herself on the run with him. Suddenly everything she thought she knew about him is put to the test and she has to decide if she can really rely on him to keep her safe?

I really enjoyed this story which showed that brutality to captured slaves was a universal thing but deep down the original person was in there if only someone could see it and find a way to help. I really enjoyed the way that Sophie tried to communicate with him and that the Kalaxians were more than willing to go to great lengths to help a fellow warrior. Caul was a delight as he discovered that it was possible for him to have a normal life he just needed the love of a good woman, the determination of his people to get the right medical treatment for him and some time. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

I liked this next installment of the Kalixian Warriors series. This one was a departure from some of the earlier books with much less action adventure but much more relationship development. This one was less fast paced and more slow and sweet. A nice change to the series enabling it to be less repetitive. The two main charters were both likable and relatable. I definitely could feel the emotion and sympathy both had for each other. I also appreciated that they were both older or more experienced vs. very young and naïve.

I usually don't care a great deal for stories that have a language barrier as part of the main plot but this one was done very well and woven a lot into the entire journey the heroine (Sophie) and hero (Caul) under went. As with most of Presley's stories I enjoyed that there wasn't any easy fixes and both characters had a past that plays a large role in the story. I also enjoyed with this one, like her others, that the main conflict and climax to the story were not what I was expecting. I really thought it would be pretty straightforward but was pleasantly surprised that I was wrong.

So, if you want a story that makes you tear up and sigh wistfully this one is for you.

So yeah, another one of my favourites.

Caul is a Kalixian, but was abducted as a child and sold to slavery. He's been a fighter all his life and it's been nothing but pain and violence for him.

Sophie is one of the women stranded on some planet to be sold along with him; Kalixians save the women and him and since he can't communicate (malfunctioning translator chip), they have him locked somewhere to keep him and others safe.

Sophie is drawn to him and she keeps coming over; in one occasion he breaks free of his "cage" and takes her with him to the woods.

There we see a wonderful love story evolve. I particularly liked this love story simply because Caul was such a lost, lonely soul. He didn't know love or kindness and he got to experience all that and amazing, hot sex, with Sophie. I just can't forget about all the times they were by the lake.

I liked the fact that Sophie was really protective of him, she was always by his side and watching over him. And I loved how he found his place in the society amongst his own kind.

I think of Caul as this big daddy, buff, passionate but gentle, totally honest, no pretenses, just him and his brutal masculinity. Woof.

Loved the story, hated the FMC's narrator. for real... One of the worst narrators I've ever listened too. She is different than the female narrator of the other stories and it definitely was a disservice to the story. However... I loved the way the relationship developed in this book. Both of them not knowing anything about Kallix and him having a broken translator made some interesting moments at the beginning. Cal is a kallixian who was taken as a small child and forced into slavery. Horrible shit was done to this guy and he was forced to become a weapon for the pleasures of the masters. He's never known kindness so when a human female shows him some he believes he needs to protect her even though he cannot communicate with her. He takes her from the main city and together they survive in the wilderness for a while. Our FMC is a more matured character having gone through watching her previous husband succumb to cancer. She doesn't know why she's drawn to cal but from the beginning she wanted nothing but to protect him. Oh and he's a virgin ...

👽 “I fell in love with him before we could speak the same language.”
~~~
Sophie is a genuinely good person. She’s caring and sweet and I loved how she could see through Caul’s feral and intimidating appearance and discover the male he truly is.
Caul is filled with rage and violence and out of control. But even after everything he’s suffered, he has such a kind, gentle and protective soul. He’s absolutely amazing and I loved him.
Sophie and Caul are one of my favorite couples from the series so far. I adored their relationship - their passion, desire and attraction were so intense even if they couldn’t communicate properly. They are a perfect match and after everything they’ve been through, they more than deserve healing, happiness and love.
Overall, the story is a wonderful and emotional read. It’s a great addition to the series filled with drama, steam, action, angst and magnificent characters.
I loved every page of it!
Tamed: Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors Book 9
By Presley Hall
Kindle unlimited purchase
Sophie is getting ready to go up on the auction block, abducted by her government, and sold to the Orkun. Now saved by the Kalixians and living on Kalix with the others.
With the marks tattooed on his face and horns sharpened to deadly points, Caul looks like a monster made for killing. He’s unlike any of the other alien warriors on this planet, and despite their efforts to help him, he only seems to be growing more feral.
I loved this book. I was looking forward to reading Caul's story when he was introduced back in book 7. Was wondering how his story was going to go and who he was going to be paired with. I was not disappointed, Sophie was just what Caul needed.
Love soothes the beast
Sophie is one of the Terran women saved by the Kalixian warriors. She's grateful but still hasn't found her place. Caul is Kalixian but stolen from his home planet and has known nothing but cruelty and violence ever since. When the Kalixian recognize him as one of their own, they free him too. His translator damaged he can't understand them and trusts no one.
Sophie and Caul are drawn to each other and when he senses a threat to her, escapes and takes her with him. As they explore a bon neither of them understands, they find healing and love. Caul must fight one more battle before they can be together forever but with Sophie and his Kalixian brothers supporting him, neither of them will alone again.
Plenty of heat, sexy times and action. We also see some of couples from the earlier books.
It was worth waiting for! I took some time getting back to this series, I had read all the ones before this one and had to wait. Being the binge reader that I am, lol, I wanted to wait until there were a few more released before I jumped back in. This story, with Sophia and Caul, was worth coming back for. It's emotional, they both have some heavy baggage. There was a point where I felt like some of that emotional stuff was repetitive, but it did make sense. I thought the author really had a handle on what it's like to be a widow who can't move forward, and I know she captured the whole dearth of friends and even family who act like grief is contagious, so for that alone, I loved this book, but it was more than just that. Caul was damaged, broken really, and his story was just as compelling to read. It was definitely worth coming back for!
These are by far my favourite characters in this series, we first met Sophie and Caul in damaged she is one of the human women rescued from the slave auction and Caul the feral alien who doesn’t speak and needs to be kept knocked out or locked up for his own safety.
Both characters have suffered and both have pain Sophie is drawn to Caul and he to her but neither know why and when a operation to help goes wrong Caul attacks and runs taking Sophie with him and so begins a love story where they learn to communicate and work together.
Can their love bring them back to the city and the other Kalixians and human women this is a must read in this series but is a stand alone.
...And just like that I was hooked! This review will NOT give away any details other then how much I really enjoyed Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors Book 9❗️If you’ve read the other book in the series just be prepared because this was a different level of thrilling. Caul has literally had the worst life it made me so sad just hearing about it, and him retelling certain memories 😫. So many heart felt moments in this book❗️ I undoubtedly think this is my new favorite from the series. Can not wait for many more from Presley Hall. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Let's be honest: this is book #9 so I'm a little tired of the same old "what's going on? how can I love him already? why am I feeling like this?".
The h was already introduced to the planet, to the aliens and to the mated human females, so the bare minimum was for her to be a little informed about it. It's understandable (and expected) that the H was not aware of the mate-bond, but to have the h also clueless was too much for me.
The plot would've been good if the FMC's chapters were not trying to convince herself that she was not in love with the H. It just felt like a waste of my time.
Very touching story about finding love again. Without giving too much away, this is the story of Sophie and Caul. Caul has been a slave his whole life and thus badly abused and emotionally scarred. Sophie is dealing with some difficult grief and after she’s rescued by the Kalixians, she feels a strong pull towards this frightening and scarred warrior.
I have found in this last year of COVid that I’ve been needing more escapism and this author has brought it for me.
This book has it all, emotions, adventure, and plenty of steam ❤️
