When I left Agron, I wanted only one thing: To make the Grivath pay for what they did to us. When our space fuel lasts just long enough for us to reach the hub planet Brexos, it seems like everything is falling into place.
But Brexos is run by the machiavellian Malakaz- an alien who now controls our fate with the swipe of one clawed finger.
None of us are entirely happy with the deal we strike, but we have no choice.
It’s simple: Bring Malakaz a package in exchange for his help with our revenge.
The problem? One look at that ‘package’ and my heart stops, every inch of my body on high alert.
Jax has revenge plans of his own, and no intention of falling in line with ours.
His ice-blue eyes seem to look deep into my soul, and I can’t seem to stop fantasizing about his hard body pressed up against mine.
Is my retribution more important than my heart? Even if it means Jax loses his one shot at his own enemies?
Even if I lose my one chance… for love?
Wicked is a full-length romance with no cliffhanger and a guaranteed HEA. Society of Savages is a spin-off from the hugely popular Warriors of Agron series and features characters from the Arcav Alien Invasion series. While you may enjoy the series more if you've read the previous books, this is a standalone series.
Hope Hart has always told stories, and eventually, the characters in her head wouldn't leave her alone until she wrote them down.
She loves strong, kickass heroines and hot, brooding alpha males. Hope believes that everyone deserves a happy ending, although the best happy endings are fought for.
I absolutely loved this book! Wow! Where to start!? So many insane things happened in this book! So many things confirmed in this book!! I want to say so much but I will not spoil it! I will just say that there are so many main players in this book! We’ve been introduced to some key people in the next upcoming books and we’ve been given a teaser into Malakaz… all I’m saying there! Makalya and Jax!! Hubba hubba! The heat there is smoking 🥵 hot! Talk about off the charts! The scoville chart can’t even measure it! 🤣. The world building is top of the world good! But it’s what you’d expect from such a phenomenal author such as Hope Hart! The woman is a genius! I literally fell into this series and was sucked into it and my brains shot out of my forehead 🤯🤯 and I had to scoop it up with a shovel! There were so many jaw dropping moments for me in this book! There were also so moments that had me cussing and wanting blood! We also got to see some old friends!! This made me smile and made me very happy! I hope more make cameos if even briefly. This series really started off well and the next book will be awesome I just know it! It leaves off on quite the cliffhanger! Our main couples story wrapped up nicely but we found out some crucial information about one of the girls that was mind blowing. We need to see how this pans out! Also Malakaz has his eye on a prize and I’m very curious and have my opinions and thoughts but it hasn’t been confirmed. It was hinted at at first but I was proven wrong later. So I’m really curious now! 🤣😂 well played Hope! If you haven’t read this series you can naturally read these because it’s a stand alone but I really suggest you start with the first series the Arcav first, then the Warriors of Agron before you start this series so you won’t be confused when you hear about these different races and when they mention and talk to certain people. You’ll at least be caught up. THEY ARE ALL GOOD. Trust me!! ❤️❤️ this bear 🐻 gave this book 5 cosmic stars 💥💥💥💥💥 and 3 radiant stars 🌟🌟🌟 for the amazing start to this series! A job well done!
This is the first installment in the Society of Savages series, and we’re off to a fantastic start. The human women that decided to leave Agron (in the Warriors of Agron series) have safely landed on Brexos. They now need to figure out their next move. They’re taken to meet Malakaz, who is the unofficial leader of the city. He offers them a deal, pick up a package for him and he’ll help them with training and supplies so they can take their revenge on the Grivath that abducted them from earth in the first place. How hard can this be? Well, pretty hard. Especially when you’re very attracted to that “package.”
Ms. Hart has done it again. Created a cast of characters that pull you in like old friends. I love how the Arcav Alien Invasion, Warriors of Agron and Society of Savages series all seamlessly flow into each other. There’s even a brief appearance by some characters from the Arcav series in this book.
Sure, the relationship between Makayla and Jax seemed to progress pretty fast, I guess that shouldn’t be surprising when you have fate on the one hand providing a “mate bond” and high stakes, life and death adrenaline pumping action on the other. But it all melded together for a highly enjoyable read. There’s also some hints as to a few pairings in future books, and I am all in!
One advantage of having these series so closely related is that the world building is rich as well as thorough. While we seem to constantly meet new alien species, there’s still an undercurrent of familiarity with this universe and the situations that our human heroines find themselves in. Although familiar, it doesn’t feel repetitive, which is a sign of a great storyteller.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next book. While you don’t have to read the other series in order to read this book, I do recommend that you do. It just makes for a more enjoyable and satisfying read.
This is definitely a palette cleanser kind of read for me. Nothing too depthy or dramatic but also something that doesn't lack substance. I believe this series is a spin off to another which I haven't yet read yet but I also didn't feel like I was missing something reading this first. I'd definitely say it's a great foundation to build off of because I'm already curious about other characters and what their story holds.
Makayla and Jax both know loss. Both experienced trauma that's shaped them and drove them to make the choices that have landed them at this point. As a whole I'd say they're both likable characters with great chemistry and a connection that blossomed thought their journey amongst the chaos around them. It was sweet and saucy and at times hilarious because they are both very different in many ways and let's just say it was a learning curve for them both.
I liked the pace of the story and the way their journey progressed. I feel like the world building is great and the author did a fabulous job of teasing us with characters and their future possibilities as well as weaving the romance and the other aspects of the plot thought the story. It flowed nicely with nothing too dramatic or any pointless fillers which I appreciated.
This is my first read of this authors and I really enjoyed her writing style. I'm looking forward to see where she takes this series and the characters for sure. The stand out character for me was definitely Malakaz... He kind of stole the show and has me wondering what his story is. I guess I'll find out along the way.
I liked the 2 series that this one spun off of, yet was bored while reading this one. It took me a few hours to read 55 pages, I kept putting the book down and wandering around the house picking things up, puttering. Each time I would go back to the book, it was harder to read. In the end this one wasn't for me.
Hm well I liked it. It wasn't as interesting as the last couple of books of the previous connecting series BUT it definitely set up this new one nicely. I feel like I'm looking forward to the next books more than I enjoyed this one tbh. I'm excited to see and learn more about Drax and Blaire and I definitely want to know more about Malakaz (I think that's how you spell it).
I enjoyed it. I liked both MCs but I just never felt truly connected or invested in either, but more for Makayla specifically. I also didn't quite buy into the falling in love within a few days either so as much as I liked their romantic scenes I didn't get the depth I was hoping for or believability when the "I love you's" occurred.
I read this book as an ARC member Wow, absolutely brilliant Hope. As usual you delivered with awesome characters and a phenomenal story. We have some bad ass women and return to some familiar characters. Jax will go to extreme lengths to right a wrong. With the help of these amazing women one male will finally come to terms and accept his losses. Jax is sexy, determined and driven. Makayla is sassy and bossy. Just what each other needs.

Hope Hart is an amazing author she has created a world that is amazing and the characters keep you on your toes!! This story has drama action and romance!! Great start to another spinoff can’t wait for the next story
This is going to be another exciting series! I loved the cameos from the Arcav series. I am looking forward to getting to know this new group on their quest for vengeance.
You have to love Hope Hart! I know this series is going to be awesome🔥💖
They last time we saw the lovely ladies of earth they were leaving Agron and seeking revenge on those who kidnapped them from Earth. They have too make and emergency landing on the planet Brexos. When they get there they have to make a deal with the unofficial ruler of the planet Malakaz who is Thesian . He promised to help the ladies get there revenge if they help him with a mission. They agree. Mak, aka Makayla, leads the team along with 3 others while the rest train so they will be able to gain there revenge. When nothing will ever be the same again. Her mission is to break a male named Jax out of jail. Jax is a very dangerous assassin and he too has been working on getting his revenge for the death of someone he loved. It is finally within his grasp only to have the most infuriating, sexy smart little human woman ruin all his plans. Omg this is a terrific ride from beginning to end. Lots of action, fast paced plot witty banter and super hot chemistry between Jax and Mak🔥🔥🔥 these two find out there is more to life than just revenge and that having help and someone who understands you will lead to healing that which you thought might be broken forever!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 so fabulous highly recommend and I can't wait to read the next book!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Hope Hart’s new series Society of Savage begins with Book 1 entitled Wicked: A Sci-Fi Alien Romance. It is the story of Makayla Roan, a human stolen from planet earth and seeking revenge against her abductors and Jax, an estranged brother out for revenge for the death of his love—Hera. His plan is to get into a maximum-security prison to destroy the warden responsible for Hera’s death, and Makayla is tasked with thwarting his plans until they join forces because if there is one thing they both understand, it’s the need for revenge. The overall plot is driven by the estranged brothers who have been separated for some unknown reason that is not made clear in this book. However, readers do meet Malakaz (Jax’s brother and the leader of the Brexos planet who is controlling everyone), Jax, this book’s hero, and Draz, another brother who was locked up in the prison, but no one knew this). The story is good, the characters are interesting, and the series is going to be a hit with sci-fi readers. I cannot wait to read the next edition with another brother Bavix and Harper. Keep writing, Hope; keep writing.
I read all the Agron books so decided to give this series a try!
Unfortunately I didn’t like this first book as much as I wanted to. I thought the girls leaving for revenge wasn’t the best motivator, considering they had no real plan.
Onto the romance. Jax has spent 10 years trying to get revenge for his dead lover. So immediately this isn’t my jam - but the worst thing is, they don’t really address it in a way that makes me root for him and Mak. He doesn’t really feel guilt or even think about his past lover in relation to Mak - I thought there’d be at least some hesitation, but they try to play it off like he’d choose his “revenge”. I needed him to think about Hera (his old love), and either say he moved on, that Mak was different, that he loved her now…but instead I ended up just not feeling connected to them because it’s just sort of glossed over.
So overall, I wanted more build up between them. That being said, it’s a fast paced, easy read. I actually didn’t love the first book of the previous series, so I’ll still give the others a go! I’m interested in his brothers’ stories too!

⚔️ “You drive me to insanity.” ~~~ Makayla is brave, smart and loyal. And she’s also feisty, bossy and a total badass. I really liked her.
Jax is strong, determined and driven. I loved how he proved time and time again that he would do anything for Mak.
I loved how their relationship developed. Both are driven by revenge and sometimes their plans collide. But their attraction is undeniable and scorching hot.
Overall, the story is a great beginning of this new series. It has action, danger, drama, steam and strong and determined characters.
I loved it and cannot wait for more stories from this new world!
Hope Hart, sure knows how to write amazing Sci-fi/Supernatural Romance stories!!! If you like a smart, kick-ass, funny and fierce h and a Hot, take-no-prisoners Alpha Male H, then you will definitely enjoy this story. There is plenty of action, suspense, passion and romance!!! This book can be read as a stand-alone. I would recommend you read the Arcav Series and the Agron Series, as it will enrich your reading experience of this book. Free with KU. Enjoy!
As always, Hope Hart has written an action packed story featuring aliens and human women who are destined for each other, no matter how they may fight against it. Makayla and Jax have different reasons for seeking vengance and their paths collide brutally and unexpectedly. We get glimpses of the Arcav and the hint of a twisted future story arc involving Jax and his brothers. An outstanding start to this new series.
Overall the book was a good read. However, I couldn't believe the stupid plan they came up with the prison. The hero risked Mac's life over and over to avenge his dead lover. Then he tells her:
"My need for revenge pales in comparison to how much I need you. There are no limits to what I’d do to keep you safe. No limit to what I’d do to make you mine.” He hesitated and for the first time, looked unsure. “Tell me you feel the same.”
Meh

Pretty much devoured all the Arcav books and the spinoffs but this particular one lands in my least favorites. Basically, the story was well written and exciting but I couldn’t believe that Makayla got through everything and got out relatively unscathed with the way she approaches situations. She got through everything basically by sheer luck. It was ok, I skimmed through some parts.
The love is too instantaneous. It's unrealistic. I enjoyed the action. Not enough character development on the H. I still don't know him🤷🏽♀️. Beside that a quick read.
Start of the new spin-off from the Warriors of Agron, featuring Jax and Makayla. This begins after the end of the original series. So while it may not be absolutely necessary to have read that series, I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend it be read in publication order before beginning the new spin-off. This is because there are multiple reoccurring characters, common themes and background that just can’t be adequately explained.
** This is an alien PNR series that features elements of female abduction and enslavement. It contains scenes and /or themes that may be difficult for sensitive readers. A high-level listing of topics is listed below for anyone interested. **
— If you have not read this story, or any of the series, the following may contain spoilers! —
I really liked the action and added mystery / suspense with this new series. I just found myself with a couple of questions regarding Jax’s history that was answered sufficiently to be able to give it 5 stars. Fortunately there are a few more stories already published for me to consume and another that is due imminently.
In this story, Makayla and the rest of the females successfully pilot the Dokhalls’ ship to another planet but they arrive on fumes and have trouble getting approval to land. The alien in charge of the planet make them a deal they can’t refuse. Pick up a ‘package’ for him and he will provide everything they need to get their revenge on the Grivath (the alien group that kidnapped them from earth).
Jax has lived and breathed revenge for the last 10 years and the time is finally at hand. Yes, there are those that believe this is a suicide mission, but he is willing to do what is necessary to make sure Alos pays for what he did. If he dies, then so be it. So he takes the first step and gets hisself arrested and sentenced to the prison planet. Great he can’t wait, then the strangest thing happens. These strange female creatures are trying to break him out of his cell! No, he won’t go!
There are some grammatical errors in the story, but nothing difficult to interpret. I uploaded my other notes to Goodreads for anyone interested. I mention these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.
⛔️ Contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including, but not limited to: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with elements of BDSM (dominance, submission, occasional swats to Makayla’s butt, restraints, etc.; violence such as abduction, murder, death, torture, war between alien races, betrayal, human trafficking, enslavement, etc.
Starts of a little wonky, a fair amount of info dump that is awkward, but then gets better and better.
Excellent action, obviously planned and thought out. No sudden whiz biz devices, or just what you needed - unexpectedly happening moments.
Was a bit confused by how naive and open the women seemed in the beginning, especially considering their recent history..?
The end is a bit too easily achieved, kinda prefer a little more effort, especially since there was so much made of everything before hand, but it’s a small issue. Plus, extended squished in sex scenes, when I would rather a bit more story development, but that’s probably more a personal preference.
Thanx to the beginning, it’s not necessary to have read the series that lead to this, in fact, all the characters are new and previously unknown. That said, it’s still worth it, simply for pleasure (Agron series).
It’s a fun balance of a lighter touch, action oriented, without too much tension or drama, but good movement. The characters are likeable, and once the story gets going, good dialogue, with the story constantly moving forward. Can easily see where the next stories will follow, but in a way that’s anticipating.
While there are certainly some issues I would change, it’s overall a fun, easy, and enjoyable read. Will definitely be reading more.
Written in first person, Wicked is book 1 of the Society of Savages series. It follows the Thesian alien Jax, a species that is damn near extinction, and his human mate Makayla. Makayla was part of a human group that escaped their kidnappers after being abducted from Earth. The group swore to seek vengeance by tracking down those who abducted them. The ship they stole ran out of fuel near a plant ran by Malakaz, who happened to be Jax’s brother. In exchange for helping the human females, they agreed to help break Jax out of prison, who was reluctant as he was on is own mission for revenge. Of course, he falls in love with Makayla, and visa virsa. They seek their vengeance together and become mates in the process.
The book was good enough that I will most likely read the remainder of the series. I like that it was written in first person perspective, and it had just the right balance of romance and adventure. The book wasn’t too long or too short, it was just right with a happily ever after. 🫶🏻
you know that meme where Daniel Craig in Knive's Out says "it makes no damn sense. compels me though." that's how I feel about all of Hart's work. it's not that the stories themselves don't make sense, they are plotted and do check out if you buy into the premise of the story. but they are also so goddamn weird. and they aren't well edited, they feel self-published. but they are fun, and I do recommend them! this is a spinoff of her series Warriors of Agron, which is a spinoff of her series Arcav Alien Invasion. I would personally recommend starting with the first book in the first series, because while they can be read alone, it does make a bit more sense and helps you understand the universe if you start at the beginning.
Great beginning to a new series! This is a spin off from the Arcav and Agron series. The new world that is the setting for this series feels different and exciting, and yet familiar because it is in the same universe. We are introduced to the Thesians who have been nearly wiped out and a band of brothers who have a difficult past to sort out. The female characters are getting nicely distinguished from each other. The central relationship in this book develops well. My favorite line that describes the MMC, “Hey, girl, get yours. He may be huge and snarly, but he’s a fine-looking man”.
An exciting and action-packed read, I couldn't put it down! The characters were all so well written and developed that I felt like I knew them. The women were strong and determined and weren't going to be the pawns in someone else's chess game. The story had a lot of action, both physical and ummm, physical, so it was sexy with a lot of fighting in to balance it out. Jax and Mac are insanely good together. It was just a fun book to stay up all night reading!
I've Loved All of Hope's stories, but always get excited about a new series and this one looks to be totally Awesome 😄. This is a continuation of the story of human women who were stolen, crashed on a planet where some of them found mates, but some were too revenge seeking to stay and took off with the ship they repaired to get vengeance 😖. Thanks Hope, I'm glad you continued on the story and I look forward to reading more 🤓.
Its always a bad sign when I've not picked my kindle up for days, usually its stuck to my palm!
I had high hopes for this book esp as I loved arcav series but this didn't do it for me.tbh I'm bored, its slow and decidedly meh.
The pace is off, its ploddy, there's zero connection with the characters and its very underwhelming. I've tried all week to read this book, instead watched a few movies.
New series, new action, more fun to be had!!! I have loved every book in this series and was definitely worried how the ladies would fair now that they were on their own away from Agron. But clearly I didn't need to worry!! Jax and Makayla were fireworks from the start and tons of action! This is was such a great read and I was definitely happy to join the society of savages!!
Not at all disappointed 😛, can’t wait for next in series
I am intrigued . Who exactly are these brothers? The female heroines so far have earned my respect. I want to know more, share more of their lives as they unfold. Once again, Hope Hart has me hooked. Dog Days of summer, do your worst, I have a new series to steal me away.
This was a good read but just not as good as the author’s last series, Warriors of Agron. I am keeping an open mind though because I know the first book in a series always has to lay the foundation and that doesn’t always allow for the story to fully grab you. I am interested to see where things go from here. There was definitely more action in this book.
