Control starts out with an angry woman. She's mad that she's put up with too much for too long from her current relationship. When she meets a new man she's looking for something fast & quick to take the burn of being ignored for too long & boy does she find it.

This was my first book of GG's & it was a blast. The romance of this story was pulled me as the two slowly fell for each other. Their relationship might have gone from physical to intimate versus intimate to physical but it worked & was believable.

Things I most enjoyed about this book:
1.) Meredith's relationship with her girlfriends. They are all different but love each other with a fierce protectiveness full of support.
2.) Rob & Meredith's connection was strong & believable.
3.) The hard topics that were covered in such a short book: racism, police brutality, emotional abuse
4.) The love scenes were primo.

Good job GG! Thank you for the ARC!

The beginning of this novella is something that hits home not only for me, but for a majority of women and men out there. Most of us have suffered through some sort of toxic relationship and it’s only when we figure out that we deserve more that we leave. This quote: “My mom once told me that you shouldn’t beat yourself up for your past. You cannot change it. All you can do is learn from it and be better,” is a motto I loved to hear. Also, I loved Katie… Coincidence, I think not  Meredith, our main character decides to take over her life and change her circumstances for the better. After leaving her boyfriend of five years, Mer and her friends go out for a night on the town. With one thing on her mind, Mer finds Rob and the two whisk away for a quite passionate night. Rebound sex takes on a whole new meaning as Meredith learns Rob doesn’t scare away that easily. I wasn’t expecting this book to be that in-depth character wise, but the author did a really great job on character development, especially with Rob being a cop during the modern era. I cannot wait to read more from this author!

I really really liked this book. It was a good story, Meredith is coming out of a bad relationship with a rubbish ex and looking for a one night distraction and she finds one in sexy police officer Rob!

The pacing was good, it was fast (being a novella) but not too fast, you had time to get to know the characters and the supporting characters were developed as well, I loved her friends and would definitely read their books if they're written. I thought their relationship development from one night stand to HEA was really well written, and so sweet, Rob is such a great book boyfriend!

I thought it tackled some key social issues really well. The only thing for me would have been that I felt like their could have been a little more depth to the steamy scenes later on as their relationship progressed. Don't get me wrong, they were great and there was plenty of them, no bangiexty here thank you! But I thought that there could have been a tiny bit more here on the "control" aspect.

Really liked this book and would definitely recommend and can't wait to read more!

Wow. This book.

Every emotion is raw and visceral. The passion explodes from the page. Meredith, sadly, is utterly relatable to so many of us women who don't realize our worth. It was easy to root for her desire to take back control of her life. Control is a deep theme here, as the title suggests, and it manifests in multiple ways and through both our heroine and our hero.

Speaking of... Rob is a dream. And what he does is show that a dream man is not made of muscles (even though he is.) A dream man is made of heart, and eyes, and EARS. A dream man sees and hears what you need without you having to say it. A dream man chooses you, chooses right, every time.

Loved this book.

Meredith is a party girl who's just broken up with her loser ex-boyfriend and looking to let her hair down in a big way. A steamy and intense one night stand with Rob though, soon turns into something far more meaningful.

Rob is everything that Meredith's former boyfriend wasn't and she craves his domineering and controlling bedroom persona.

Gleason leads the reader on Meredith's intimate and introspective journey to rediscovering herself. Indulging in her wilder side, this is Meredith's fresh start at life and love, and she's not wasting a minute of it.

I really enjoyed this novella, it was everything I hoped it would be, namely hot, impulsive and sexy. With strong hints of romantic suspense, this novella successfully veers into the fringes of dominants and submissives, without the stereotypical and cliched role playing.

A great little book to lose yourself in.

A one night stand that sparks a flame that no one can extinguish!

Daaayum! This book was so amazing I can’t really put it into words! So many feelings and so much anger for the right reasons!

I believe every single romance fan should read this novella, it covers so many topics that are affecting our world and we need to address in this genre.

Meredith is a strong and beautiful woman inside and out. It takes so much courage and self love to walk away from a toxic relationship. From the very first page I rooted for her and was so glad to see her going after the life she wanted to have and the love she knew she deserved. I loved her free spirit and the clarity of mind for what she needed. She cared for herself and for others in the same way, just as we all have to do.

Rob is a dream come true! I love a hero that’s fully aware of his privilege and uses it for a greater good. I understood completely the environment he was caught in and how difficult it must’ve been for him to endure it. It wad freeing to see him get the ginal push from Meredith to do what was right and show her and the rest of the world the good man at heart he was. I also loved how much he cared for Meredith even though they didn’t know each other well, he wanted to take care of her physically and emotionally, and when he didn’t know what she needed he asked her without assuming.

Shout out to Meredith’s friends who made me laugh and were the best bffs she could ever ask for!

I absolutely loved this novella so much! Thank you so much, G. G. Gleason for the ARC copy!

I thought I was walking into a quick, steamy read, and I did, but it was also more! Control by is one of those books that I’m sure can hit close to home for many women. Staying in ‘comfort’ because you are scared of what’s on the other side. The saying “better the devil you know than the devil you don’t” comes to mind here.

But when Meredith made her exit, boy did she! Cue Rob the hunky, Italian, police officer & the STEAM!! Another alpha-roll for your book boyfriend pleasure— strong, fierce, & in CONTROL but kind, gentle, & protective. And a sprinkle of sassy, spunky friends for fun.

This is a perfect quick summer read.

One sit read

This is the first book I've read by the author and really enjoyed Control. I found the conflict between Meredith and Michael, very real and authentic. After reading the afterward, I completely understand why. I loved Rob and thought he was amazing and loved the instant chemistry with him and Meredith. Super fun and steamy read.

This indie book is obviously steamy, but it's so much more than that, packed into a fairly quick read. I'm glad of that, as naughty scenes in books have me scanning through with the monotone voice of Ferris Bueller's homeroom teacher in my head these days (and yes, it's kind of amusing). The bedroom scenes are well executed - it's me, not you, sexy book authors!

Meredith, the protagonist, just wants a snack of beefcake after dumping her No-Good-Nick boyfriend, but finds herself genuinely liking the Italian god known as Rob. Still, you never know what you're getting into, no matter how delectable the package. What happens when you're falling for someone whose profession and actions (or lack thereof) go against everything you believe in - your core values?

This book deals with that question while also entertaining the reader and allowing the protagonist to figure out what kind of woman she truly wants to be.

Worth a read!
