Two brothers. One Woman. And a whole lot of commotion.
They can't let the others know about their romance. Good thing they have those warm summer nights.
When a set of billionaire twins unwittingly offer Ava a chance to escape her abusive boyfriend, she takes it. Who knew the one-way trip to Costa Rica would lead them to a relocation program in Haven Hills, where the twins' siblings, including their "oldest ornery brother" Richard live in hiding?
As Ava finds her place in their new destination, she also finds herself drawn to none other than the oldest brother, despite obvious advances from one of the twins. Things take a turn when that twin winds up on strict bedrest while attempting a stunt to impress her. Days later, Ava discovers that Richard feels the same undeniable spark between them, and so starts their summer nights rendezvous. In a hiding spot of their very own, Richard and Ava give into sweet romance, passionate kisses, and talk of how they'll eventually tell his family about their love.
Richard knew better than to fall for a woman his brother Maverick had the hots for. But he can't deny his attraction to Ava, a woman who actually loves math as much as he does. Besides, the two weren't dating. Maverick had no right to stake his claim on her. But that doesn't change the fact that he and Ava's secret romance could start a whole lot of trouble when he finds out.
USA Today Bestselling author Kimberly Krey is known as the Queen of Steamy Clean Romance. She's a fervent lover of God, family, and cheese platters, as well as the ultimate hater of laundry. Her readers count on faith-filled romance novels that stay clean without losing the steam.
This is a fun series about a family in the witness protection program and I don't think I could do it. This is the second book so far and I love how the reader gets to know the characters better and better as the series progresses, and I can't wait to learn more about the other siblings.
Richard is the eldest and the serious, grumpy brother, but all that changes when Ava shows up with his twin brothers. I loved the vague play on a favorite classic movie, which gave the story some familiarity, but twisted into a messy pile of pure entertainment.
The way the summer heat sparks a swoony, massive attraction that results in a steamy clean hidden romance was perfection. While there are big secrets to be kept by all and obvious walls are high, Krey manages to draw the reader in with some humor, a hint of danger, and more than a few amazing kisses.
This is a cute story that was the perfect reading escape and I can't wait for more!
A woman flees an abusive relationship and finds unexpected refuge and complicated romance when billionaire twins and their older brother bring her to the Homestead Inn. Summer Nights at the Homestead Inn follows Ava, who accepts a lifeline from a pair of billionaire twins and winds up sheltering at The Homestead Inn, where she slowly uncovers safety, family warmth, and a tender, surprising connection with Richard, the twins’ older brother.
Beneath the surface, Kimberly Krey writes a story about healing: Ava’s fear and guardedness feel credible, and the way the Inn’s routines and the brothers’ different temperaments peel back her defenses is handled with compassion rather than melodrama. The novel sits squarely in Krey’s “Billionaires in Hiding” premise (siblings relocated to run an inn while hiding from a dangerous past), and the book balances cozy small-town details, community events, inn work, summer evenings with the ever-present thread of danger that keeps the stakes tangible. I especially appreciated how the romance grows through practical kindness and steady emotional beats instead of rushed fireworks; the characters earn their closeness through conversation, shared chores, and quiet courage. If I have a gentle critique, it’s that a couple of subplot threads could use deeper exploration, but overall the novel’s warmth, believable growth, and the Homestead setting made it an absorbing, heartening read.
I rate it four stars for empathetic character work, a well-executed fish-out-of-water premise, and an emotionally satisfying slow-burn; it loses one star because a few secondary arcs felt underdeveloped.
I am loving this series so far. This family of siblings is in the witness protection program- new identities, new life. It's fun to watch love find them one by one.
Ava is someone I was invested in and rooting for from the very beginning. I'm so glad those crazy twins pulled her into their mess because heaven knows Richard needed someone to soften him up! It was fun watching them fall for each other, stealing kisses and sneaking glances. I loved the "while you were sleeping" vibe. This book was a great escape from reality that I really needed this week.
I wonder which sibling is up next? I'm excited to find out! This book and this series is on KU if you have that.
Content: mention of physical abuse. Kissing.
- I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Romance, sweet, contemporary; series but stand alone read This was as cute read! Ava and Richard's story along with Maverick stuck in bed ('sleeping) were a cute couple and cute backstory. While I enjoyed the general premise and things, it missed the draw for me that makes you just stay in the story and not lose the storyline. Still a fun cute romance if you are looking for a quick read. Richard, the brother trying to keep his family together, and Ava, running and hiding from her ex brought to the Inn by the twin brothers who had tried to outrun the mafia and ended up in the witness program again with his brother and sister. Cute mentions of the first couple in the series, and fun sweet romance for Ava and Richard. I received an ARC from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review, my opinions are my own.
First, I have to say that both Kimberly Krey and Cindy Roland Anderson both have similar writing styles, and since I’ve just read both author’s most recent books back to back, I’ve been doubly blessed. They are among my favourite authors. This story continues the saga of the siblings who have been forced to live with new identities and to run and inn to protect them from the mob. Their grandfather was involved with the mob and, subsequently all of his grandchildren’s lives are in danger. The last of the siblings, twins Maverick and Memphis, are the last to join the family in their new, permanent residence and they didn’t come alone. Frictions arise when two of the brothers fall for the new addition to the inn but she is reluctant to enter any relationship. She is clearly attracted to one but will she be able to put her past aside and trust enough to give a new relationship a chance? And will the rest of the family remain intact and out of danger if she does choose one over the other? This is a fantastic book with great characters and good pacing. Easy to read and lose oneself into. I highly recommend it.
This is a wonderful story that is the second book of a saga about a family forced into the witness protection program. This one could easily be read alone, but really the first one is AWSOME too!! This one is about the oldest brother Richard and a woman named Ava. I do not want to ruin the story for you, but I will say that for ME, it drew me in immediately and I could not wait to see what happened. I will say Ava is running from an abuser, and that is made clear from the start. I love the bantering that happens between the family, I LOVE Maverick's character in the book (he is one part of a set of twins), I can't wait to see what happens for him in the upcoming books. If you love clean books, this is a winner, Ms Krey just paints a picture of this ranch where they all ended up, it seems tranquil and wonderful. She gives the characters life and personality. I just love it and Can't say enough good about it, but you just need to read it!!
I really enjoyed this romance: Ava (Anna) runs from her abusive boyfriend to Costa Rica with Maverick and Memphis, who are hiding from the mafia. The mafia chases them and they escape to be put in the witness protection program. They are reunited with the rest of the family in hiding at the Homestead Inn. Will Ava’s abusive boyfriend find her and ruin her happiness with Richard? Will the Mafa find the Duran family and seek revenge? I would highly recommend this book and the series.
Really good installment of the series. Ava is able to escape an abusive relationship by accepting an invitation to travel to Costa Rica with a couple of guys only to be attacked by the mafia. After relocating to the Homestead Inn she meets the twins older brother Richard. Read to find out if Ava and Richard can overcome the obstacles to find a future together.
I’m enthralled by these books about men and women in hiding. Reading about their challenges and how they cope is interesting. Summer Nights at the Homestead Inn is interesting and exciting. It’s a great book for everyone who likes fun, clean romantic fiction.
Annie was abused and decided to leave the Mafia. She ran into Maverick and Memphis twins from the Homestead . Annie decided to go to the witness program with one way ticket. Annie became Ava Rae from Denver Colorado. So she went the twins to Costa Rica . Ava met all the brothers at the Homestead. This story is about Richard and Ava 's love This is a good read,
This romance had a touch of suspense, nice family feeling and a little forbidden romance. Richard is a bit intense at the start of the book, but his character really shows throughout the book as he wants to protect his family. Aza has been in some violent relationships and just wants to feel safe and protected. I enjoyed how their romance developed and the ending is really good.
Hiding from the mob and an ex who's abusive. Ava must protect her identity at all cost. Hiding with a family who's hiding from the mob doesn't make it safer. Trust is a huge part of protection. Brothers who would love to get a chance to know Ava better. Can love find a way, even in these circumstances? I highly recommend this book! Happy Reading!
This is such a fun read. Richard is the oldest sibling in a family in the witness protection program. His twin younger brother's decided not to enter the program but hide on their own. While visiting a travel agency to arrange a trip to Costa Rica, they see a beautiful woman and invite her to go with them. Ava is in an abusive relationship with a man who feels he owns here. She had just been praying to escape from his abusive power when Maverick and Memphis invite her along on their trip. When the plane lands in Costa Rica, a weasel from the travel agency had reported their whereabouts to the mafia who had been looking for them. A chase ensues and all three are put in protective custody before being placed at the Homestead Inn with the rest of the twins family. Maverick has been trying to start a relationship with Ava from the start but she has been less than responsive. When she meets Richard, they only have eyes for each other but the "bro code" says that Ava is off limits.
I've written a whole lot of books in my career, but I'm pretty sure this is one of my favorites.
I love the While You Were Sleeping theme. I love that this courting couple shares secret kisses on hot summer nights that no one else knows about. And I really love the stories, struggles, and passion behind these characters.
Lastly, I adore this billionaire family and the way they're forced to adjust to a not-so-billionaire lifestyle, together.
Ava is a surprise at the Homested. She was invited by Maverick to go with him and his twin on a trip. Turns out She needs a new start. She meets Richard and he is taken with her. Can this all work out. I mean her ex. Can Maverick forgive his brother for stealing his girl?
I really enjoyed this book and getting to know the characters. I have it a 4 instead of a 5 because i was expecting some real mystery in it. It had some back story mystery but no now mystery. Otherwise it was awesome. I am hoping there are more books with the other characters.
It was great to read about these siblings again. It was like coming home! Love these characters. The plot was so good too with Maverick being in love with her first and she didn't want anything to do with him. Then Richard falls for her and she likes him back. Her Whiteside pay and how Richard didn't got Maverick back is great too! Great read!
She is running away - and when a pair of twins asks her if she wants to go with them - she agrees The airline says one-way or two, And she wants one way. Then we go to visit their family . . . .And she gets along with the oldest brother - after all they both love numbers. This is a great love story of the oldest of the bunch!!!
This is a wonderful, sweet story that is swoony, with fun characters that are both family and friends. I love how the story moves along and makes me want to read the next in the series.
This is a fun premise and I enjoyed the season aspect to it as well. I like the characters, the setting, the writing. Overall, a really enjoyable read!
