I felt so bad for Loriana in this book. She lost her biggest supporter at such a pivotal time in a young girl’s life. My heart broke for her. Although the start of this book was giving slow burn, once again the ending makes your jaw drop. The Symir piece was predictable for me BUT I can’t imagine how her and Projex would navigate the situation with Joi. Super messy. I’m rooting for Projex and I can’t wait to see how this all ends.
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 Stars…. There are a few inconsistencies in Book 2…. Once Projex returned home….I don’t understand why he ran to Loriana…she broke up with him and the scene in the run made it seem as if he broke up with her and broke her heart…Loriana lied and stated she held Projex down….Flat out lie.
I’ve added a lot of bookstragmmers and authors to my ig and this book has been floating around. figured since I’ve been into the urban lit/romance of late, I’d give it a read. book one was good. BOOK TWO THOUGH?! literally had me on a rollercoaster ride. I went from chuckling, to BAWLING, to smiling, to shocked and shook throughout. Phew. I gotta pull up in the authors ig right now to get a release date for book three cause I can’t.
Talk about an emotional roller coaster ride! This book started with the ride from the first to the last page. Poor Loriana couldn’t get a break at all. I was really rooting for Loriana and Samir until that ending, but now I’m hoping that she and Projex can make it work. This book was well written and the character development was awesome. Can’t wait to read book three.
It was slow moving but I’ll read the next installment
So it was slow moving but kept me invested so I was turning the pages when I should have been working! But to be honest I thought this was the finale to the series, which is what really had me wanting to see how this played out. Had I known it was going to lead to this mammoth of a cliffhanger I probably would have been super annoyed with the pace. There was too much “world building” for a part 2. The story is still interesting so it is worth the read.
This book took me through a journey of pure emotions. First things first the ending had my mouth dropped This book was beautifully written. The characters are real this all feels so real I laughed , I wanted to cry I went to hell and back with these characters already and book 3 I’m not sure if I’ll be able to stand it . I’m ready to be back with them already. This series is on a path of being one of my favorites . I’ve never enjoyed a young age love story until now. I’m completely hooked !! We say each character grow love and deal with their own pain. The one I least expected to do anything did ! The author really painted this book with perfection. A #1 in my eyes
ILYFL!!!!! What kind of “to be continued” was that?!? Mind is blown!!! Did not see that coming at all!!! 🤯🤯🤯 wow!!! I can’t even wait to see how this ends. The book was a slow burn but I appreciated the details necessary to build these characters. I had to keep reminding myself that Loriana was only 18. While she had such a pure heart and sweet soul, her immaturity showed at times. I think it was necessary for her to break up with Projex. If they hadn’t, their relationship didn’t stand a chance. Now fast forwarding three years later when everyone is grown and these plot twists have my head spinning!!!! Kordell!!!! Symir!!! I was rooting for you n!gg@!!!! SMH I knew from the reviews he was going to be on BS but I had no idea he was on that type of time! Whew!! Let me jump into book 3 because my anxiety is HIGH!!
This was a very good read I absolutely loved it from start to finish. This review is for the whole series not just this book. This author has truly become one of my favorites. Each and every story that I’ve read has been real page turners. Not one of them disappointed. If you’re wondering whether or not you should read… THE ANSWER IS YES‼️‼️‼️
I went from awwww to what the hell really fast. Just like book 1 this book flowed perfectly and had me feeling all the feels because I LOVE ME SOME PROJEX! That ending though... it threw me for an entire loop, it was so unexpected. The thing with Projex floored me but the thing with Symir took took me out. I have a new fave to add to my roster. I can’t wait for book 3.
This book was great and added so much development to the characters. I’m so astounded of how it is written and the love that authentically blossoms with Loriana and Projex. This story complexity of their lives and the struggles Black go through trying to live better lives. I’m super impressed with how deep this story is. I do feel Loriana didn’t hold my book bae down when he got locked up and her response to him when he came home, I didn’t like that but hoping a great reconnection in Book 3.
Part 2 was even better than the first part. Poor Lorianna she can't catch a break. They freed a real one. I hope Lo and Projex can work it out, they are meant for each other. This was such an excellent well written book.
This was an okay read compared to part 1. Part 1 flowed amazingly and I got to know most characters in detail. During this read I felt like those characters changed a little and not for the better. ex: Projex character didn’t exemplify the type of man he was in part 1 towards the ending of part 2. I can’t wait to see how part 3 turns out, because that end was too messy. Overall the book was good for what it was though!
I'm speechless. The author definitely did her thing with this book. Very well written and had my attention from beginning to end. Part one had me in shock with that ending and part 2 picks right back up but I was able to breath a sigh of relief. What I love about part 2 is we get to see how Loriana and Projex's bond and relationship progress. Loriana is coming into her own and not letting anyone take her kindness for weakness. There are some setbacks, snakes and also revelations. But how will Loriana overcome the most shocking betrayal of them all and what will Projex do when the biggest kept secret finally comes out. I'm still rooting for Projex and Loriana but shaking my head at Symir and Joi. So anxious for Part 3.
This was definitely an emotional read, that captivated me page after page. We pick up right where we left off in book one and instantly I was trapped in the story. Throughout the story, Lo was getting hit left and right with life altering events that at times I thought she was going to give up. My good sis Lo didn’t know half the time if she was coming or going. I was attached to Lo as the story progressed. I felt her pain through the pages and wanted nothing more, but for her to overcome it. Lo was definitely a well developed character that can’t be forgotten. I just wanted my sis to win😭. We are introduced to a new character, Symir who instantly had me feeling like a traitor👀. Initially he came off as mysterious, but soon his protectiveness of Lo made me and her fall for him lol. I’m also glad we got a glimpse into Loriana cousin Mhyale’s life and her teetering relationship with Naaz. I hope to get more from them in the near future because their relationship is a big mystery to me. Overall, this book 2 completely tore my heart TF up. I’m still trying to put it back together. My nerves are shot from the ending.
BriAnn does a great job at painting a vivid picture of what’s transpiring between the characters. Whenever there is an intense moment between Loriana and Projex, I feel it. This book hurt my feelings in certain areas like when Loriana and Projex had that conversation in the visiting room. Or again, when Loriana answered the phone for someone else in Projex presence. I’m like sis naw don’t do that. I appreciate BriAnn giving Mhyale and Naaz more space. I hope to learn more about them since there is some mystery to what the issue is with those two. Speaking of mystery, Loriana makes two new friends, Trell and Candace and idk if I trust them or not. The mutual person she met through them obviously can’t be trusted based off of the ending of the book. the ending answered some questions like who killed Malcolm and who is Joi baby daddy. I’m moving on to Part 3 to see if Lo and Projex rekindle.
Reading this book the second time around, I can only say I love it even more. There were so many details I forgot, so it felt like I was reliving it all again. I forgot that the book ended the way it did, jaw still on the floor. Even though I know what happens, man, BriAnn writes such great books. Starting book 3 now. I could read this series multiple times and never get enough!
Listen I wasn't ready. Initially this moved slow for me, but when it hit...It hit. Lori was going through in this book. She was young and wasn't navigating grief, life or loss well. I didn't understand why she broke up with Projex....not that I'd promote staying in real life but this is fiction.....so sue me lol. After thinking on it though she just needed to choose herself in that moment which I understood even though it felt shady considering how he held her down. Lori had to be the most gullible girl sigh...
Projex with his fine self. He played the background in this book as Lori found her way out of grief. He kept tabs on her and immediately sought her out when he could only to have his heart broken. I felt so bad for him. Definitely happy to see him walking into success. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
I definitely enjoyed reading Projexx and Loriana's story. They were both young and had experienced the pain of losing family members while navigating the ups and downs that life throws at you. Despite the challenges, they stayed strong and remained committed to each other. Loriana always knew where home was, which added a beautiful layer to their relationship.
And can we talk about the added characters? Oh my goodness! I am so intrigued by Myhale and Naaz. Their dynamic was filled with some toxic elements that really captured my attention. I love a bit of drama, and their storyline has me wanting to know more about what unfolds. Overall, this book was a captivating read, and I can’t wait to see where the journey takes all of these characters next!
This story with L-boogie and projex has had me on a rollercoaster. We now are going to see their love blossom from teenage love to adult love and hunny i am here with it , i love the author the feelings are so authentic and i can put myself in the story and feel every word and feelings of every character i love it. Now Lori feels bad about doing Bryson like that but she was only acting off of hurt feelings that they both caused and need to get over the past to start their future. I cannot believe symir i thought he was a good one but I’m always team L-boogie and projex, can’t wait to see part 3!!!
