Boyfriend Wanted, Must Love Dancing (BWMLD) is the latest book from Angie Pepper’s Baker Street series. This book, like all the others, is a stand-alone. You might see some characters from another of her books, but not enough to think you are missing something.
BWMLD introduces us to Skyler Tegan, a dance teacher at a local community center. Turns out she has a somewhat shady past that she tries to keep hidden. We also meet Charlie Ward, who appears to be a groundskeeper at a posh country club that Skyler visits, but he too has something to keep hidden.
This book reminded me of nothing so much as a screwball comedy from the ‘30s. Lots of misunderstandings and even some physical antics (Mix one country club pool, two people in said pool, three more about to come into pool area equaling a madcap sprint from the two to avoid the three.)
It did have a few flaws. The snooty rich lady that gave bad news to Skyler was too much. Would a rich person really say to a poor teacher that they are “upgrading” to a better teacher? Also, the idea that a country club owner would be as rich as his members is just not feasible in this day of shrinking golf/tennis enthusiasts. The negatives are few however, not enough to spoil the rest of this cute story.
BWMLD is a light story, so frothy you can read it in a day if you want. Great beach read, sit on the porch with sweet tea read, just about any place or time you want a good read.

This book was given to me by Booksprout to give my honest opinion of Angie Pepper’s latest, Boyfriend Wanted, Must Love Dancing.

Skyler is a dance instructor for kids and has a secret past none of her current friends know about because she is ashamed about it. Charlie is the son of a wealthy man and their family owns the local exclusive country club. From the time they meet until the book ends, it is one laugh after another! There is also relationship building, angst, romance, and personal growth mixed in with the humor.

The story involves the consequences of not telling the absolute truth and also of making assumptions about others. At times you’re on an emotional roller coaster wondering if they’ll ever admit the truth and be 100% honest about their feelings. I like how Skyler is a proud, independent woman trying to make the best of her situation and she is always looking out for her students. Charlie turns out to be quite the romantic in his efforts to woo Skyler. I particularly enjoyed how he answered her phone and became friends with her mom.

This is the fifth book in the series of sweet romantic comedy novels and can be read as a complete standalone. I read the previous book “Dating the Funny Waitress” and this book is written just as well. I’m now hooked on Ms. Pepper’s writing style and look forward to reading previous books as well as future ones. I also enjoy reading her note at the end of the book that tells her inspiration for the story.

Cinderella the Stripper - A Clean Romance

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 5th book in the Baker Street Clean Romance series by Angie Pepper. Each of the previous books has been standalone and this is no exception. You can read and enjoy this book with no prior knowledge of characters or events. There are of course a few easter eggs and a side character that had previously shown up - with an expanded role here.

The story is a Clean Romance. The main character is a dance instructor who just so happens to have had a job in the past that may have involved more poles and less clothes than she teachers the 10 year olds in her class. A very wealthy country club is opening their own dance studio and threatens to take away the more affluent students and disrupt the long term prospects of her job. She goes to the country club and runs into the handsome son of the owner who pretends to be a groundkeeper. It is a delightful play on Cinderella and You've Got Mail / The Shop Around the Corner as mistaken identities / intentions / past shames / business and romance collide. The narrative is never bogged down or confusing. It was just a blast! Angie choreographs everything beautifully.

Tiffany Williams is back and delivers each role with a unique voice bring them leaping from the page to your ears. She is not a narrator so much as an audio performer.

This a a rom com with plenty of both Rom and Com. You will not be disappointed,

Skylar is an ex-exotic dancer now teaching dance classes at the local community center. She does not like wealthy people, her father was a wealthy man who died without providing for Skylar or her Mom. Charlie is the son of a wealthy man who likes young women and does not mind dating women Charlie has dated. The country club owned by Dad has hired dance talent from New York and is offering his members a world class dance program lead by the out of town Instructor. While checking out which families from her class are at the club checking out the new program, Skylar meets Charlie who allows her to think he is the club gardener. He thinks she is the new Dad girlfriend and tries to score against the old man.

So starts a comedy of errors and the ride to figure out backgrounds, relationships, friendships, and where do we go from here. Angie Pepper does a great job of creating angst, fun, love and personal growth and building new relationships.

If you're looking for a fun book, this is it. Skyler is a former exotic dancer who now teaches dance lessons to children at a community center. Nobody knows about her past as a dancer and she wants to keep it that way. Unfortunately she needs to get funding for the dance program and at the same time the local country club is beginning a dance program for children that threatens to take her more well off students from her class. She approaches the country club about donating to the community center's dance program to help the kids whose parents can't afford to go to the country club when she meets Charlie. A series of misunderstandings ensue where she thinks he's a groundskeeper and he thinks she's one of his father's mistresses.

If you want a book with lovable characters and a different story line, this is it!

Children's dance instructor Skyler hides that she used to be a stripper and Charlie hid that he was the owner's son of the country club that is offering classes that could put her out of a job. She wears the cast off outfit of the mother of one of her wealthy student to an open house at the country club. Charlie thinks she's his father's new mistress and she thinks he's the gardener. He gives her a flat tire to keep her there and they end up swimming in the salt water pool while he tries to get them caught in the act in front of his father to break them up. That was just the start of the crazy antics in this book. Some of it was a bit over the top. There are a lot of misunderstandings and I wondered at times if I wanted Skyler and Charlie's romance to succeed. Her roommate Avery and his friend Duncan are interesting and added to the craziness.

This is Boyfriend Wanted, Must Love Dancing written by Angie Pepper. My my, what a tangled web we weave. Skylar and Charlie dance around (hee hee, couldn’t help myself) the lines of truth until all the lines are blurred. This is a hilarious book that made me want it to never end. When Skylar lies about who she is as she sneaks into an Open House, she meets Charlie, who also lies about who he is. Each one of them have good reason but, it makes it hard to move forward and even harder to keep all of the lies straight....hence Skylars hairless guinea pig... trust me. You will want to know about the guinea pig. This book is just another reason to love Angie Pepper and the joy she provides through her books!

Cute One . . .

This book involves two characters who are trying to deceive each other and get tangled up in the mess that is created. The characters are mostly likable. Skyler despises wealthy people based on her deceased father’s actions in the past. She meets the Cedars owner’s son, Charlie Ward, but she makes the assumption that he is the gardener at Cedars. Charlie assumes that Skyler is his dad’s new gal pal and decides to steal her away from him. Then the comedy of errors begins.

This is a fun book, not to be taken too seriously. Be ready to be entertained as everyone is scrambling around trying to figure things out and take care of their own agenda. Grab your copy and enjoy!

This was a sweet romance that had me laughing so much. The characters and their banter were funny and entertaining. I liked how down to earth Charlie was for being a rich boy but his best friend wasn’t rich so I think he helps ground him. Skyler is a woman trying to start a new life who works hard as a dance teacher but is struggling to make ends meet. These two are so funny together. When they first meet she’s pretending to have enough money for a country club membership and he’s doing lawn work so she thinks he’s the gardener. There are funny situations along the way while these two are falling for each other.

This is a sweet romantic comedy and i have to say it was so refreshing to read a book that was not crammed with steamy scenes for a change....i have found myself reading a lot of dark romances lately and i have actually started skipping over the sexual scenes as it just gets too much and a bit repetitive...
This book had me laughing and i absolutely enjoyed every page of this mistaken identities book.
Who is she? A dance teacher , mistress or stripper.
Who is he? A groundskeeper, pool boy or the son of a rich man.
I absolutely recommend this fantastic book to anyone.

Audio book

Wow Angie Pepper wrote a fantastic story. It will have you routing for the couple. Angie wrote a storyline that most people actually can relate. We hide who we really are when someone catches our eye.
Heroine is Skyler. Charlie is the hero .

Charlie is hiding who he really is in life because of what Skyler beliefs. Skyler has bad ideas about rich people not realizing Charlie is one rich dude. Charlie goes undercover to find out why she thinks that. Little does they both know they are meant for each other. As they grow closer someone is trying to pull their cover from each other

Tiffany Williams nailed this story. She did all the characters great.

"He knew in his head that it was all a game, and yet some part of him didn’t want it to be."

This was a good read. I did have a few moments that I thought, "When will they finally tell the truth?" It was a frenemy to lover type story. Skyler has her dance instructor career while Charlie's a jack of all trades. I enjoyed all of the characters in the book except the nemesis of course. The last chapter is a nice little epilogue.

Boyfriend Wanted, Must Love Dancing is a quick read with mostly likable characters and a HEA. There is a bit of growth for the characters, with some self-awareness and angst thrown in and I like them all much more by the end than when they are first introduced. I'm not sure I would describe this as a comedy, at least compared to other Angie Pepper books.

Secrets sometimes are the equivalent to disaster, as it´s written in a very funny way in this story. There´s humor, deceit, romance and above all friendship as broken hearts (for any reason, nor just love) always deserve second chances. Really enjoyed reading this story .

What a complicated meeting and interactions. Lol funny, so out there that you can't believe anyone can have that bad of luck. The implications between these two, the chemistry, the banter, the information not given to the other. Finding out the truth about the other, shocking them both. How to proceed?

Dance-teacher and despiser of the rich, Skyler, meets Charlie the charming groundsman... but he’s not what he first seems, and she’s not who he thinks she is ...cue an almost English farce series of mishaps and misunderstandings, all highly entertaining.... provided you’re not Skyler or Charlie! As always with an Angie Pepper, the cast of supporting characters is fantastic, especially two of Skyler’s little pupils, her hilarious ’hairless guinea pig’, Avery ... who I’m pretty sure will feature again, and, if you happen to have read the others in the series, ‘short Duncan’, briefly dated by Megan in a previous book, is a much more developed character here....though not developed in the sense of maturity! Thoroughly enjoyable light reading.

Amazing what a good romance can do for your heart when it’s good clean fun. Skyler is a sweet dance instructor with a past, like us all. She runs into Charlie, a wealthy young man running his dad’s country club. But Charlie doesn’t let on about his real identity. I really enjoy their characters, Skyler especially. They have a realistic feeling about them, as all of these Baker Street books do. If you have read the other books you’ll see familiar characters and places, that’s the only way they connect because each book is a stand alone. I’ve read Pepper’s books for awhile and have always come away with a full heart and a tummy ache from laughing. My copy came from the author and my review was given voluntarily.
