“Head2Head” Meet Buck and Lefty, Co-joined Twins from Opposite Ends of the Political Spectrum! If you have an interest in politics, a moral code you live by, and are mature enough to laugh at yourself, you’ll have fun reading this book... Buck and Lefty are the result of a failed BioTech experiment conducted by a billionaire entrepreneur who dreams of creating a neutral, non-partisan presidential candidate to take on America’s biggest problems. The twins are released (ejected!) from the lab and embark on a series of blundering misadventures that pit them against one another on every political Free Speech, Guns, Women's Rights, Covid-19, and more! You’ll see just how ridiculous those on the far “Left” and far “Right” truly are. And, as “Head2Head” progresses, you’ll wonder why those we’ve elected to Congress and the White House can’t focus on anything other than getting reelected - instead of striving to make compromises that serve in the best interest of our country!
I'm not sure that any minds will be changed by this, but maybe that's not the point. Algo invents a two-headed monstrosity, one head an elephant and the other a donkey named Buck and Lefty. Together, they leave their creator and go out on their own, eventually rising to become media stars arguing the left- and right-wing political views with their guests on the show about topics such as abortion, climate change, the homeless, and more. If you like graphic novels, you'll like this one. The concept is interesting, the writing is excellent, and the cartooning is excellent.
The authors have created the perfect co-joined twins to show the edges of the political fringes. The energy and vociferous vehemence the two go at each others' political stances are overshadowed only by their self-protective need to run from serious confrontations. Great illustrations!
The details of the illustrations show the talent and work that went into the making of this book. Using humor to see both sides of political issues, with compromises as solutions, is brilliant!
I really didn't get into the humor of this. It tried too hard to be bipartisan that I feel the mark was missed. Maybe the next volume would be better but I have doubts.
This was a fun book to read. I loved the split democrat/republican guy. They dealt with current topics like covid and other issues. It was great illustrations and dialogue. I would read it again!
Our Country is so politically divided! This book brings reader’s attention to the most important issues we are facing today. And that is where the need for the republicans and the democrats to work together on these issues becomes paramount. This political cartoon graphic novel teaches just that. Great graphics and an excellent story. Enjoy!
