He’s promising to marry this girl, but he’s running away with me.
The entire City of Angels is hung up on the latest season of their favorite reality show and its star, Rhett Roberts.
The cocky jerk has women throwing themselves at him in every episode, and it looks like he’s loving it.
Well, good for him.
He’s a cocky player with a wild streak ten miles wide.
The man defies death for a living as a stuntman, for heaven’s sake. Well, when he’s not too busy being fed champagne by fifteen different girls on a yacht or breaking the hearts of the ones he sends home.
No thank you. That’s a hard pass from me.
All I want to do is make a name for myself by making sure the flowers on the finale are the best they can possibly be.
Until I meet him.
He’s famous for his gorgeous eyes, daring personality, and doing stunts for some of the biggest celebrities the city has ever seen.
People love this guy.
Men want to be him and women want to be with him, but one wrong move makes him the most hated man in the whole country.
He’s the runaway groom, and his sidekick?
Me. The girl that isn’t supposed to be in love with him.
Have we met? No? Well it's time to end that tragedy.
I'm a former firefighter/EMS guy who's picked up the proverbial pen and started writing bad boy romance stories. I co-write with my sister, Ali Parker, but live in Texas with my wife, my two little boys, my daughter, two dogs, three cats, and a turtle.
Yep. A turtle. You read that right. Don't be jealous.
You're going to find Billionaires, Bad Boys, Military Guys and loads of sexiness.
Something for everyone, hopefully. I'd love to connect with you. Check out the links below and come find me.
– I didn’t like the pacing. I think the story moved too fast, and I wish they had more of a connection before the running away part happened. And for that same reason, I wish they didn’t fuck that night.
– I wanted to see more drama with the media and the paparazzi, instead of turning the Jake dude into this big bad villain, only for him to stepping down as producer at the end.
– I know problems with communication seems to be a must-have in romances nowadays, but I hated how insecure Felicity was, and definitely how little she thought of him and of the love she so said he felt for her. Rhett took her to the fake pet seminary to show her how fake the show was. He took her to the orphanage, opened up about his personal life and even let her meet his brother, all so she could get to know the real him. And what did she do in return? Chose to believe a random-ass interview instead of confronting him.
– Also... the fact that he didn’t mention her name in the interview because he wanted to keep their relationship private and like 2 months later posted "an iconic photo of them"??? And @ author why mention said iconic photo so much if you’re not even gonna describe it? Why was it iconic? What were they doing???? Let me picture it and be the judge of it!!!!
Loved Rhett and Felicity. Their story was so much fun to read. Rhett is the latest “prince” on a reality dating show and his life is about to get turned upside down. What he thought was his fake relationship on camera turns out to be very real and he isn’t happy about that so he does what anyone would do in his position does, he runs away. Felicity was just the florist until she becomes so much more than she expected. Loved their relationship. Great chemistry between them. An entertaining story that will pull you in from page one. I love his work and I can’t wait to read more. He creates characters and worlds that you want to get lost in.
This was pretty darn good read. Felicity and Rhett were a perfect/not shiny fit. I like that Felicity didn’t allow anyone to walk over her and I can understand her thought process, most of the time. Rhett was just the lovable goofball/alpha male.
However, Maria is too much and I not enough. I want more. Also I would like to see Rhett’s brother get a story.
Oh my goodness! Rhett and Felicity were absolutely perfect! I loved how he turned to her when he decided to run and that she she was there for him! These two were definitely meant to be! I loved everything about Felicity and Rhett! So happy they found love and happiness with each other. 🥰❤️
Another great read by Weston Parker! He once again hits it out of the park with this one! He brings a strong cast of characters centering around Rhett and Felicity and delivers a fun ,entertaining story with tons of emotions. He pulled me into the story from page one and had me hooked right to the end. He paints his scenes perfectly and moves the story quickly and smoothly. I loved and would highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Weston Parker did another fantastic job with this book and kept me hooked from the beginning until the end and now I'm liking reality books.. Rhett is almost done with the reality show and still hasn't found the love of his life but when someone catches his eye will he go through with the marriage part of the show? Felicity is a florist and putting the final touches on the show but things go crazy and now she is the most hated person for running a wedding which she didn't do but she finds herself following for the man who could destroy her heart. Will these two be able to make it? Great story.
This was a cute, fun and enjoyable read. I liked the suspense and drama, as well as the emotional conflicts the characters experienced. The only reason that I didn’t give it more stars was because I didn’t really “feel” like the storyline was unique enough. I was sent a copy and I am choosing to leave my honest review.
Runaway Groom is a well written and entertaining romance story with a great storyline, well-developed characters, humor, angst, drama, suspense, twists and turns, steamy chemistry, and a great HEA.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
Wow! Grab The Tissues. This Story Exposes The Dark Underbelly Of A Reality TV Show Desperate To Stay Relevant. Rhett Pulls Felicity Down The Rabbit Hole When He Decides To Become A Runaway Groom. Their Journey Starts Out Crazy, But The Story Is Serious In Tone. Fans Of The Bachelor Will Fall In Love With This Couple!
Rhett Roberts, twenty-eight, is helping to rake in the record ratings for Queen of My Heart after several seasons of waning interest in the long-running reality show. Each season of the show revolves around a new “prince” that dates and lives with thirty eligible women for four months of drama. He signed up for the show for the same reason so many of the women had. His agent thought it would be a good career move. As a go-to Hollywood stuntman, getting some public exposure should be good for his career, ensuring a steady flow of work. The thirty women on the show had their own reasons for wanting exposure. Rhett wouldn’t have minded finding love, but that is not what happened. Some of the women were nice, and some were talented manipulators. A few he had connected with, but he found out quickly that who stayed and who left was not really in his control.
He had signed a lengthy contract, which he had scoured very carefully, but what he hadn’t seen coming was the writing between the lines. The grey areas. The loopholes. And although he had enjoyed the attention of the women for a time, it had quickly grown old. He did what he signed up for, though, and was seeing it through to the end. Forced into a love match with Rayna Mills, a woman he detests, he nevertheless plays his role knowing that it will soon be over. He cannot get away from the show and the production company fast enough. Jake, the producer, had proven himself to be slithering snake.
The TV persona that Rhett played this season had been a creation of the production company. His character had caused great controversy, and the public, though torn, hated him more than they loved him. The crew played up the playboy vibe, and his characteristic smirk cemented him as the villain. It is true that he has never been in a relationship before. He never wanted to waste his time on something that wouldn’t last. He wasn’t sure he would ever find the right woman for him, but if he did he would never let her go. Rhett may have a lot of acquaintances, but few are actually close to him. His best friend is his brother Aaron. They are tight, bound together by a tough childhood they rarely discuss. They are good at guarding their emotions, and in a way that ability might have helped Rhett get through his season of reality TV so spectacularly. His smug and carefree attitude masks the vulnerability that is buried somewhere deep inside.
Felicity Cason, probably in her late twenties, is a one woman floral shop and loves it. She just caught a big break when she landed the contract to do the flowers for the finale of Queen of My Heart. Getting her shop’s name in the credits could really open up some new doors for her. She might not follow the show, but between the media coverage and her best friend Maria’s fascination with it, she cannot help but know just a little about it. She is familiar with the reputation of this season’s star and has seen his face splashed all over social media. As she is setting up for the finale, she accidentally runs into Rhett Roberts himself, the bad boy prince of the show. Though their meeting is brief, she is surprised to discover that he doesn’t seem anything like what she had expected. He seems genuine and kind. She also meets one of his finalists, Rayna, who is a handful to say the least. Felicity questions Rhett’s judgement when he ends up choosing Rayna. When Jake, the show’s producer, later asks her to do the flowers for Rhett and Rayna’s potential wedding, she readily agrees.
Two months later the live wedding episode is ready to air. The flowers are all in place, but the groom is nowhere to be found. Before she understands what is happening, Felicity finds herself a partner in crime with a runaway groom. She lives a normal boring life, and it certainly pushes her outside of her comfort zone. Rhett, on the other hand, is used to running toward danger. Together they go down a rabbit hole, hiding from the media craze and taking a risk on romance. Neither is looking for love. Rhett cannot disclose much about the past few months since he is bound by contract, but he insists he never loved Rayna. He and Felicity have a natural connection. She finds herself breaking her rules, and he finds himself opening up. Felicity takes a leap of faith and puts her trust in him, but the show and the media craze aren’t yet behind them. They face challenges while discovering things about themselves and one another, but the couple eventually finds a happy ending.
Wow! Grab the tissues. This story exposes the dark underbelly of a reality TV show desperate to stay relevant. Rhett is caught up in something much bigger than he contemplated, and the boost to his career that he expected might end up costing him instead. Jake is ruthless and works tirelessly, and Rhett’s carefree ways don’t mesh well with his style. Jake wants control, but Rhett wants to be true to his heart. He might be willing to go along with a lot, but there are some lines he will not cross. Their battle takes up a lot of energy in the story. Rhett and Felicity’s story takes place mostly in a bubble, tucked away from the press. Felicity is great, but Rhett really steals the show. There is such depth to his character that as the story unfolds, the tears flow. Reading about his happy ending is very satisfying.
Rhett and Felicity’s story explores the meaning of family. It also shows how desperate and ugly Hollywood greed can get. Both Rhett and Felicity take the idea of love seriously, though neither is necessarily ready for it. Felicity fears the idea, and focuses on her shop instead. Rhett is waiting for love to happen, but might not recognize love if it slapped him in the face. Given his background, he is surprisingly grounded. The two eventually prove to make an incredible match.
Rhett pulls Felicity down the rabbit hole when he decides to become a runaway groom. Their journey starts out crazy, but the story is serious in tone. Fans of the Bachelor will fall in love with this couple. The story is well-written. The plot is somewhat complex. The characters are well-defined. They are real and three dimensional. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Rhett and Felicity. I rate this story 4.5 stars.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.

I liked this book. It is about a reality tv show and the man who is breaking hearts and has women falling all over him. After all he is a Hollywood star, playboy and stuntman and is about to hand out his final bracelet on the reality show Queen of My Heart. What the public doesn't know is that he doesn't want to be in the spotlight at all and is counting the minutes until this whole mess is over. Should he choose Rayna or Amber? But what he doesn't expect is the girl who is in charge of doing the flowers for the finale. Felicity cracks up and draws his attention when she accidently hears him propose to a flower vase and the sparks fly. Will these two find that there instant attraction could lead to more and cut and run? You have to read to find out but it really was a fun book to read.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Rhett, a stuntman who is on a dating show to find love. Rhett doesn't believe the show is real and knows he has to make a choice for the sake of the show, but he can't wait for it to be over so he can return to his life. Felicity is the florist that was hired to decorate the set of the show and before the final, she sees someone touching the flowers and yells at him, only to see it was Rhett. Rhett was surprised to talk to Felicity and learn she was down to earth. When Rhett learns he is supposed to marry the girl he picked for real, he decides to run away, taking Felicity with him. Felicity is attracted to Rhett, but knows they could never be together for real because of the tabloids and she thinks they would blame her for Rhett not showing up for the wedding and she is scared it would ruin her business. Rhett can't forget Felicity that easily and he wants to see her again. I enjoyed this book. I loved Rhett and thought he was a good guy who was told one thing with the show only to learn it was not what he thought. I think Rhett and Felicity were great together. I would love to see Rhett's brother find love too. Another great one.
I really enjoyed this read, as you can tell by the 5-Star rating
❤️ I enjoyed this read. The meet-cute happens on the set of a reality TV show, a bachelor seeking his perfect match, but not really. The leading man (Rhett) will capture your heart, even with his scripted and edited-in flaws, you’ll find yourself rooting for him. There’s a sweet heroine (Felicity), a really unlikable villain (Jake), a hunky brother (Aaron) and a host of supporting characters that help flesh out the story.
I debated on what star rating to give. I give the highest ratings to well-written, well-edited works. If you’ve ever read any of my reviews, you know that bad proofreading and editing are my top pet peeves for written works. This book had a couple (2) but they did not detract from quality. One even made me chuckle as I pictured a florist running from the church “carrying a small vanity” along with her toothbrush and other toiletries. I’m even chuckling about it right now as I write this review. The two errors aside, I decided to give a full 5-star rating because the story was just that good. I didn’t want it to end. Maybe Aaron will get his own story someday and we’ll get a peek into what’s happening in Rhett and Felicitys’ lives.
Rhett’s is a stuntman whose primary reason for appearing on a bachelor reality show was for the publicity but if he finds love along the way that would be a happy bonus. The experience is not going as he planned as not only does he find himself engaged to woman he doesn’t want but now he needs to her marry her as well.
Felicity is a florist who was excited to be hired by the show as it will give her career the boost she needs. She and Rhett share a chemistry and connection but they both know it can’t go any further until desperate times call for desperate measures and she finds herself helping him escape the situation he finds himself in and that is when the mayhem really begins.
The romance between them is real, the characters are compelling, and their journey will keep you entertained from beginning to end.
It’s quirky, it’s funny, there’s some sadness, but not a lot, but I loved it.
Rhett is the handsome, hunky stuntman on a ‘Bachelor’ type show and Felicity is the florist for the finale. As Rhett is pondering the absurdity of the situate is in he encounters Felicity and they embark on a strange conversation yet it works for them.
As the reality wedding approaches, Rhett is bombarded with doubts and he ‘kidnaps’ Felicity and that’s when all the sparks fly.
This story depicts reality TV exactly as I imagine it to be, full of fake people and fake feelings, but that’s not what Rhett and Felicity have developing between them.
Thru all the bumps and turns, Rhett and Felicity find their HEA and I loved their chemistry and strange family dynamics.
Felicity, a florist, encounters Rhett, Hollywood stunt man and reality show participant, on the set of the reality show he is on and she was hired to do arrangements for the finale. As the story progresses a unplanned getaway occurs, behind the scene secrets are dribbled out, and one last performance may tank everything just as they realize the truth of their situation. Weston Parker drew me in from the start with Runaway Groom. Even though this is set in the city where everyone has an act to put on, the characters are realistic in their actions, thoughts, and flaws. It would be great if Maria and Aaron would get a story, but the muse does not always allow for that.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Rhett and Felicity meet on Realty Show. She is the florist for the show. Rhett is the Male on the show who is going to choose one of the group of women that are down to two for him to pick from. Rhett finds out he has been tricked by the producer and they expect him to marry the woman he has been told to pick. Rhett tells the producer he will do it if he hires Felicity to supply the flowers for the wedding. The day of the wedding Rhett just can't make himself get married. Everyone is looking for him and he comes upon Felicity in the parking lot and asks her to get I job his car. To her own surprise she gets in and he takes her away to a place in the country to hide out from all of the negative press.
Weston Parker has done it again. He has created yet another romantic comedy filled with drama, passion, romance, friendship, family, and love. Rhett was a character I was not expecting, but he was a welcome surprise and I absolutely loved him. Felicity is a kind hearted person with insecurities just like many of us. Runaway Groom is a beautifully written story with wonderful characters readers will fall in love with and plot twists readers will enjoy. I loved this new novel from Weston Parker and can’t wait for his next release. “I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this novel.”
Rhett and Felicity are my new favourite couple from Weston Parker. These two have so much chemistry, that they just work!
This story is funny and at times it will have you seeing red especially went Rhett has to deal with the producer. Rhett and Felicity's characters are very developed. They both show maturity in dealing with trying times. The supporting casts - family and close friends were also awesome in this story.
Cute story that centers around the truth behind reality TV and what the lies can do to real relationships.
Quick takes- - Rhett put himself out there and made it easy to fall in love with him. - The conflict was believable and the characters reacted appropriately. (IMO!) - HEA with hints at the future plans. I could have read more! - Steamy scenes were hot, but not super detailed. Good for a reader who wants heat without squirming.
The Runaway groom is a story around Rhett and Felicity. Rhett a Hollywood stunt man who lasted venture is the Prince on a reality show to find true love. Felicity is a local florist hired to provide flowers for the set if the shows finale. Then there is a "meet cute" between these two. Chemistry is immediate. Great uplifting story that blurs the lines of real life and reality with a great cast of characters.
The H, Rhett and the h, Felicity met when she was working doing flower arrangement for the Reality show he was on the find a wife. They met right as the show was ending. I felt it would have been more exciting if he met and got to know the h through out the show he was on and at the end of the show picked her instead of one of the contestants on the show. It worked how it was done though. The angst just was resolved rather quickly. Great read though.
When you meet Rhett, then Felicity you think head strong and odd pairing. Then you really start turning the pages and you feel the slow burn of these two complex characters falling in love through all the scrap thrown there direction. A book definitely worth reading!!
This is a fun and engaging fast paced romantic read. the main characters are developed likable and relatable. The storyline flows smoothly and distilled with drama, chemistry, cockiness, lies and mistakes. Our cocky hero meets the woman he never knew he needed and works hard to keep her including showing her all of him. I voluntarily read and ARC, and this is my honest review.
Runaway Groom. This is one of my favorite stories. I loved it! It had so much more quality in the writing. It kept me engaged with the characters. I was captivated by the story and hoping for Felicity to understand how Rhett really felt and how much she changed him to be a better person. Done the right way, love will conquer all obstacles.
I'm not a fan of the bachelor or bachelorette programs in real life and reading this instantly captivating story I may have been right. Rhett and Felicity were perfect together but getting there had me wondering if they'd finally be honest about their feelings. Perfect ending. Thank you again Weston Parker for another terrific story.
Definitely a great read and very enjoyable. It was funny, yet very serious at times. I really would have liked to have read that the production company had a bigger fall out but at least the culprit was taken out. I've read a handful of Weston Parker's books and so far I haven't been disappointed.
I absolutely can not stand so called reality shows, especially about finding the love of your life, with that being said I loved Rhett's take on the whole thing . A cute story that was a little bit too wordy and had what should have been a non issue conflict on both Felicity and Rhett's part but resolved quickly.
I have to say Rhett and Felicity had such electrifying chemistry. This story really pulled at my heart in some parts and growl at other parts but overall this couple really evolved and told a fascinating story. You’ll love this story as much as I did and not want it to end. Enjoy!
Enjoyable story. Have you ever wondered how fake those reality bachelor shows are? Answers will be provided. Rhett and Felicity run away from the show despite previously only sharing a brief conversation and then the story really starts. However it wasnt a humorous story as promised in reviews
