I made a deal with a devil in a black suit. Stuck in a life that had been nothing but misery, when I saw an opportunity to break free, I grabbed it with both hands. That opportunity came in the form of Lucky Grassi—a capo in the New Jersey mafia, and the one man who could help me navigate the dangers of my plan. I never planned for it to be anything more than a professional arrangement. One touch from him had me rethinking all my plans for my future. But there was still danger all around. If you haven't read anything by Jessica Gadzala you need to immediately!! Seriously wtf are you waiting for.

Gadziala has a way of sucking you in and flip your world upside down. Absolutely loved this book.

A thrilling love story between a Mafia man (Lucky ) and the Mafia Princess and she is the daughter (Via Fiore) of a rival

Lucky Grassi-he dove headfirst into the family business, always looking for opportunities to prove himself.

Tall and fit, he notoriously dressed all in black. That choice, paired with his jet hair and inky-dark eyes, gave him a menacing appearance. If you saw him darkening your door, you knew you'd fucked up.
Lucky was sent on a mission by his higher ups to Chicago to do a job, and she ended up in his line of Scope

Via Fiore is stuck in world no one would want to be
She has been prisoner in her father’s world for twenty-six years now, a mafia Princess, and of course a woman in this world are disposable pawn and you’ll , she’ll stop at nothing to get out. even make a deal with with a devil in a black suit. Since her father was the most powerful man in Chicago. No one would have helped her get away. No one would have stood up for her, so she turns to the only man she thought could helper

Frank Fiore, He was a pathetically small man with a massive ego. You know the type! So, if I could reach inside this story and kill him myself. I would! -I just loved the outcome to Frank’s demise… irony can be a fickle bitch.

Wow, I really cannot wait to be able to read both Massimo from the Grassi and Brio from the Costa family , I hope that JG doesn’t make us wait long!

Another wonderful read from Jessica Gadziala’s collection! I have always enjoyed the mafia themed romances, and I definitely am loving this series! Not only did I fall in love with Via and Lucky; but the secondary characters caught my attention as well! Brio, in particular is someone who I want a book for him right away!!! He is an extremely interesting character and quite the psychopath!!! My kind of anti- hero!!!

As with all of Jessica’s books, I enjoy them and can’t wait to read more!!!! There are so many to choose from, and I’m grateful I still have lots to read!!!

Parts of this book are sweeter than dessert coffee while simultaneously giving everything one could need to submerge themselves in the world of made men... minus the literal cement shoes of course.

I’ll order up a JG mafia book any day of the week with a double shot of caramel thankyouverymuch.

description

Lucky Grassi, as with all Grassi men, is tall, dark, and deadly. Yum. I loved the perspective of a man in the Family, with orders to carry out but not having the weight of being the boss. Given a task and very strict instructions not just from his boss, but from the Capo Dei Capi in NYC, Lucky shows us just how far he’ll bend the rules for the right woman. Grassi men are also men who treat women as equals and cherish them with everything they are, ten fold when they are all in claiming that woman as their own. How refreshing.

description

Via has been sheltered and lived a lonely life. A far cry from the bustling hub of activity that is a Grassi family function. Looking for a way out she turns to the one man who might be able to help her, gaining friendship as well as love along the way. She will risk everything to find freedom from her third floor prison, even if it means helping slay the dragon keeping her there.

description

The hit men, Massimo and Brio, Luca Grassi’s absentee brother Matteo, Lucky’s got two brothers...all of New York and maybe Chicago...possibly a throwback to Antony Grassi’s love story before he lost her...let’s all cross our fingers, toes, eyes, arms, whatever to hope we get plenty of JG mafia in the future.

description

Oh Brio. We’re all picturing him, don’t lie, guilty pleasures are the hot crazy ones ammiright?

description

**Note: while I feel you would benefit from reading The Woman at the Docks and The Woman in theTrunk, neither are needed as this reads like a stand-alone outside of missing some character introduction.

**Extra Note: I LOVED The Woman in the Trunk so don’t miss out!

She was a prisoner in her father’s world, a disposable pawn and she wants out. He was sent to do a deadly job, eliminate a problem and take down a target. What they found was an alliance to keep her alive and so much more.

THE WOMAN IN THE SCOPE by Jessica Gadziala once again scrapes through the dark side of life where money and power are everything, even more important than love, a world where blood doesn’t necessarily keep one safe.

Hang on for some wit, humor, and a pairing that should never have happened, but makes perfect sense in the end as two people discover how strong real love can be. Gritty, rich with strong characters and a darkly twisted plot that has Ms. Gadziala’s signature magnetism and creativity.

I received a complimentary copy from Jessica Gadziala! This is my honest and voluntary review.

I love mafia romances and this series is so damn good, I couldn't stop reading it 😍
Jessica's talent to create a perfect combination of dramatic events in the dangerous mafia world and the unique sarcastic humor is what makes it unbelievable addictive and easy to love.

Lucky is a "made man" in the New Jersey family. He was sent to Chicago to eliminate a problem and instead found an ally in a beautiful and fascinating woman.

Via's life is a never-ending nightmare. She tries to hide and make herself invisible, but she cannot escape her tormentor.
The only option is to seek help, but can she trust a capo?

A badass heroine, a swoony alpha mafia man and the secondary characters, that are screaming for they own books makes this book to an absolute page-turner.

This is an amazing, emotional and gripping mafia romance, that will make you cry, smile and swoon.
Don't let me start about the steamy part of this book 🥵🔥🔥

REVIEW
My review is going to be a bit pessimistic, so I would like to stress: these books are addicting as hell! I fly through them so fast because they’re easy to read and have an interesting storyline. For all my complaints, I will happily continue the series.

Moving on, I felt a bit let down by Lucky’s character. When we met him in The Woman at the Docks, I couldn’t wait to see the man under his lighthearted shell, but there was nothing underneath—nor was there really even a shell. He saw Via and basically fell in love right away. If nothing else, he was consistently boring serious yet teasing. To be fair, Massimo and Brio were much more extravagant characters, and, as the saying goes, you can’t compete where you don’t compare.

Via’s story was much more compelling, and her character a bit more complex. I didn’t really see much of an “ice queen” façade—despite the constant narration that she was indeed wearing one—but maybe being privy to her point of view hampered the desired effect. Regardless, Via was a highlight of the book.

A reoccurring structure in this series seems to be a steady build-up, sudden climax, and rushed conclusion. The Woman in the Scope is no exception. That being said, Jessica Gadziala manages to include a nice little (foreshadowed!) twist in her books that are thoroughly entertaining and appropriately dramatic.

5 swoony stars!!

I think I've found my latest favorite male lead by Jessica Gadziala! Lucky is AMAZING! Hot, protective, romantic, Lucky is everything I look for in a Hero!!

Via is so shutdown, even when she tries to walk out of her shell there is so much holding her back. Confined, and locked in for years, I was surprised she was able to deal with men like Massimo, Lucky, and Brio at all.

One of the things I love most about Jessica's writing is the sense of family, whether it's chosen or blood, family is so important to the development of her books.

I loved Lucky's conversations with his Mama, her love for all her children is so apparent, even when Lucky is frustrated by her push for him to find the 'one'. His conversations with Mass and Brio are often times hilarious, dark and broody, but still that sense of protection remains.

I'm so in love with the Grassi series, and can't WAIT for the next one, I love JG's ability to move in between series and not lose a step!!

Another winner. Jessica is proving she can just about write anything with this great installment in the Mafia series.

Via is an abuse victim who has basically been a prisoner in her father's house her whole life. When he sets her for an assassin bullet meant for him she finally decides enough is enough and goes to the Mafia family that put out the hit and ask for their help in bringing her father down.

When Lucky Grassi is asked by his Capo dei Capi to go to Chicago and get rid of mobster Fiore who is cheating and disrespecting the families he never thought it would lead him to the woman his mother has been praying for. He also didn't plan to have to make the trip with the family's hitman Massimo. Neither can believe when Fiore, who must have caught on about the hit on him, send his daughter in his place to be executed. One thing about these men under the Costa mob family is you don't abuse or treat a woman bad.

Via should based on the abuse from her father and his men should just be a cowering beating down woman. But underneath she has a spine of steal. Lucky cannot help but be captivated by both her beauty and her spirit and vows to do anything possible to both get her away and bring down her father.

Lots of emotional upheaval through out along with the ever lovable psychotic hitman Brio. Hopefully we get many more stories in this Mafia series as they are a special treat to read.

I’m not in a reviewing mood so to keep it short and sweet, yes this was another great JG story.

I think it confirmed that I like the NY mafia world more BUT I’m almost equally eager to get more of the Grassis.

Matteo and Massimo should be next hopefully.

Lucky and Via were great together and I think this is one couple which actually benefited from having a documented growth to their relationship. Via deserved everything Lucky had to offer and more. She’s a badass, strong bitch in her own right but she deserved to have a life where she no longer had to front that attitude.

The plot was fast paced and I loved the premise. Overall this was another winner.

I am so in love with this series. The strong women and sweet but deliciously dominant men are my vibe. This is mafia but it's not old school meek women me man it's my world mafia. It's more open so whilst it's still a mans world, the men don't get a kick out of belittling their women... they treasure them. It's fast becoming my favourite world.

Lucky- A made man. He's sent to Chicago to take care of a 'problem'. That problem turned out to be a whole damn situation. It's safe to say he wasn't prepared for the turn of events that occurred but that little trip turned out to be life changing for him and Via. I loved lucky so hard. He's a true family man and genuinely so sweet. He handled Via with so much care and was willing to risk it all for her. I loved that in his job he's this formidable mafia guy but with Via he had all the sweet romancing and humour. Oh and the man knows how to take care of his woman. Real good care!.

Via, gosh that poor woman had it hard and yet still stood strong like the queen she was. You learn real quick how different her life is compared to that of the other women in the mafia world who are usually treasured. Despite everything she endured she still found the strength to stand up and make a change. I loved her, she's witty and so freaking sweet when she has every right to be jaded. It was a pleasure to see her feel safe with lucky and get to feel what it's like to be loved truly. Also... she conquered the ladies man without even trying! What a babe.

I just adored their story. Via and Lucky have chemistry right from the beginning but the connection that blossoms between them is the absolute sweetest. Their journey isn't easy by any means and they definitely get tested but they just made my heart happy with that special love they have.
The Woman In The Scope is a unique mix of dark and light with a pinch of action, a smidge of suspense and a whole lot of sweet and saucy. Jessie never fails to find the perfect balance in her stories and this is certainly no different. Can we talk side characters?.. one of the things I love the most about Jessica's books is the deep appreciation she has for strong side characters that leave you always wanting more. Of course I'm immediately attracted to the psychotic guy, Brio. I mean in my defence.. he's loveable and hilarious. Plus I know everyone will be loving on him so I'm not alone in my attraction to the wronguns. Aside from him the many personalities that grace this story only add more greatness and entertainment and I freaking love it. This book just hit so right. I found myself waiting on edge to see what would happen. I laughed and swooned and cursed like crazy and by the end was so sad for it to be over. Everything from plot progression to character development is just perfect. I feel like there are so many possibilities for the future with this series and that gets me so freaking excited because so far I am loving it and cannot wait for what comes next.

Lucky is a made man who is sent to take care of a situation in Chicago with another family. Via is the boss’s daughter, and is practically a prisoner in her own home. The story expands from there to creat an amazing read. It is so well written. It has enough suspense and laughs to make it a book that needs to read in one sitting.

4 Sweet Addictive Stars

The Woman in the Scope is the second book in the Grassi Family series by Jessica Gadziala.

Lucky Grassi, like all Grassi men, is tall, dark, and deadly. But he is also has a protective and dominant vibe to him that I couldn't get enough off. When When Lucky is asked by his Capo dei Capi to go to Chicago to do a job he never expects to meet the sweet Via and he certainly doesn't expect to fall for her.

Via has lived a very sheltered and lonely life and after learning that her father world send her into a trap set for himself and has no regard for her life she needs to get out. She knew his day would come and should be prepared for it but it still scares her and she may not be able to save herself.

This is another great read from Jessica, her view into family and love is one of the reasons I keep coming back for more.  Her books have it all for me and this one was no different from her wonderful sexy, sweet leading ladies and crazy but addictive secondary characters, this has it all.

Although this is a standalone and can be read alone, if you haven’t already read Luca’s book, the first in this series entitled The Woman at the Docks then I wouldn't highly recommend it.

Another great book. This was a surprise, I wasn't expecting her to continue on with the secondary characters. And bonus! The special epilogue of day, weeks, months, and years was back. That's my favorite thing this author does. In fact, I wish more authors did it.

Lucky's story!

I've wanted to read Lucky's story since he was first introduced in The Woman at the Docks.
Via is the daughter of the boss of another family, She has not had an easy life and decides to change it. To do so, she needs Lucky's help, as well as that of the Grassi family.
I am not giving spoilers! I did find this one to be lighter than the other books, so to speak. It may be that I just read it fast and while I was making pancakes.... anyhow, I think it being a little bit lighter fits Lucky. It could have been a lot darker.
But, swoon and sigh... the ducks! Such a small moment, but seeing those in the epilogue brings all the feels. Ms. Gadziala, you rule the world of epilogues!!!

Loved this book!!! It was written so well!! Lucky and Via were perfect!! Lucky was so amazing in this story! He was so open and caring. And although Via was very vulnerable and had gone through so much sadness in her life she was still a badass when face to face with anything that could hurt her. She was very brave. I really enjoyed this book! I also now want Brio’s book Jessica! And Massimo! Every book Jessica writes I want more and more characters stories! Pretty soon this reading order (that you can find on her website JessicaGadziala.com) is going to be never ending lol! But it’s a journey I’d read all over again!

While there are some elements which might sound familiar, the way the story is told with the twists and turns is refreshing. As a full-blooded member of the Grassi family, made man Lucky is tasked with acting as (a willing and admiring) liaison with Via. Via's the stunning daughter of a rogue Mafia rival who was originally in the scope of a Grassi assassin's rifle by accident, as her father sent her in his place. Complicated, but as with all Gadziala books, the rich back-story, the tight plot and combustible chemistry make for a fantastic read.

More Grassi family books please!!

🍀🍀I'm feeling Lucky🍀🍀

The only bad thing I can say about this book is that it ended. As usual with this Author, once you start one of her books, it is impossible to put it down and then I find myself swiping uncontrollably on my kindle hoping for more pages! Lucky and Via are such an awesome couple and I was sooooo excited that Brio had some action in this book as well. I cannot recommend this author enough, download this book and get lost in the Grassi's world for a little while.

Really enjoyed this one.

I do love a good mafia and this one didn't disappoint. The men in the Grassi family are on the softer side when it comes to women but are super charming and I loved that as it makes a change to the usual I'm a stone cold killer with everyone but you vibe that most have (not that I don't appreciate that too).
Loved Lucky, really liked Via and all the supporting characters too but yet again Brio stole the show and NEEEEEDS his own book! (Please!?)

3.75: "I'm sure I want you Via. In my life. In my house. I want to be really fucking clear about that. I know you're not used to people giving a shit, so it might not be easy to accept that I want you with me, but I will work at proving it to you."

I really liked Lucky' story. Via is flipping strong. The strong women and sweet but deliciously dominant men <3333. This is mafia but it's not old school - It's a more open world, the men don't get a kick out of belittling their women... they treasure them. Jessica Gadziala i love u. These books are my current obsession. Something about these reminds me of why I like to read. I just devour the words. Having read several of the author’s other mafia books, these feel a little more intense with the violence, but not overly graphic. A little drawn out in some sections, so I end up skipping a couple of paragraphs of rehashing narrative here and there. But I can’t wait to read the next one!
