What do you do when you thought it was all over, only to realize it's all just begun?

I died.

I looked into Rogan Kendrick’s eyes, told him I loved him…and then I died.

So how the hell am I standing naked in the middle of a morgue, doing my best not to freak the fuck out?

I’m a Bone Witch, or at least I was before Rogan bound us together. Blood magic now flows through my veins too, and I think somehow the man I shouldn’t love, the one who betrayed me, who couldn’t choose me…has saved me.

If the High Council finds out they’ll hunt us, and they won’t be the only ones. A certain bastard demon did promise to see me soon.

I don’t know exactly what the hell is going on, but I do know this: My name is Lennox Osseous and it’s time to show them why you don’t fuck with the Bone Witch.

Ivy Asher is addicted to chai, swearing, and laughing a lot (but not in a creepy, laughing alone kind of way). She loves the snow, books, and her family of two humans, and three fur-babies. She has worlds and characters just floating around in her head, and she's lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing people who support that kind of crazy.

The The Osseous Chronicles reviews:
#1 The Bone Witch: ★★★★★
#2 The Blood Witch: ★★★★★
#3 The Bound Witch: ★★★

It is the end of the Osseous Chronicles. Lennox has been through hell and back (literally) and now its the endgame between her found family and the High Council. I expected war, I expected sacrifices and I expected a bittersweet ending. What I got was The stakes were high, and it all came down to technicalities. Lennox won by a technicality that she exploited. No one went down fighting, doing a fancy spell or unexpected plot twist that turned the tide in her favour but she was in a court room and argued her way out of her problems. I respect it but it was very anti-climatic.

I flew through the first 40% of this book. I wanted to see how she survived the last book, and how everyone handled the consequences from the cliff hanger. I was so excited that it was a time jump to a few months later! I was hooked and then... I was bored. I lost interest. I stopped reading it and picked up something else. I didn't pick this book up again for weeks. I almost gave up on it but then decided to give it another try. I was intrigued at how it would end so I stuck it out and I read the conclusion of this triology.

This book was okay. I think I have a complicated relationship with Ivy Asher. I have tried reading another series of hers, The Hidden (Shadowed Wings, #1) and I hated it. I was so hyped for the premise of The Bone Witch (The Osseous Chronicles, #1) but I was hesitant about the final product. I had trust issues. She blew through those issues by producing an amazing Book 1 and Book 2. I gave them both 5 stars. So, my assumption was that this last book would also be another 5 star read. Unfortunately, it isn't.

I like my conclusions to end with a big bang. Something that impacts everyone, and is substantially the riskiest thing the characters do but everything works out. The risk factor isn't there. It felt like it was more focused on Lennox and Rogan and their love new, budding romance that is apparently deep and real or something. It felt more lustful rather than true love but thats okay as long as there is relationship growth. There isn't really. Its just smut and then violence.

I'm disappointed. I was so excited when it came out. Now I'm back to not trusting Ivy Asher books.

☁︎  Would I recommend this book?
Yes.

☁︎  Will I re-read this book?
Yeah maybe but not for a good, good long while.

☁︎  Would I recommend this series?
Yeah it's a solid paranormal series with an interesting magic system.

Not as good as book 2, but this trilogy is a must read for fantasy romance readers. The first half of this book was a little slow, but the last ~25% was really exciting and a super satisfying conclusion!

An epic of a slam dunk finale for Leni and Rogan! This series has been a real blast. I’ve never read anything by this author before but I now plan to add her other books to my brain candy tbr list! The MC is Leni- she is feisty, clever and funny. The star of this show is definitely Hoot, her dog who has evilly stinking farts!

Another wonderful Ivy Asher book!

The Bone Witch chronicles is simply a fun, sexy, and action packed series. The heroine is witty, strong willed, and sometimes clueless. But that’s what makes you love Lennox. Her perfect half is Rogan. Ivy knows how to write a pairing.

Rogan isn’t your typical brooding bad ass. (Though he is both of those things.) I love how much he cares for Lennox, to the point where I think he loves her more than she loves him. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just how it feels! He understands that he isn’t perfect and reflects on his wrong doings in order to correct them.

The demon storyline was super interesting. There were a few things that I felt slightly confused or maybe felt a little rush, but it didn’t take away from the readablity or the enjoyment of the book. I just hope Ivy continued this series because there are sooooo many questions I have still.

*spoilers*

Who is running the high council? What does being a demon countess really mean? Is Elon going to find happiness? (Also I’m picking up bi vibes from him and I love that. But I can totally be wrong.) what is happening with their cousin and the ghost? Is Tad and Prek going to be a thing? What about the auntie?

So obviously I need more so I can have my curiosity sated!

Well that was a conclusion was NOT where I thought this book was going. But I'm not mad at it. To me, this wasn't the strongest of the book - especially after the contents of books 1 & 2 - but the second half of this one really gripped me until I just had to finish it. Who needs sleep?

This was my first series from Asher but it will not be the last. I feel like her pop culture references come straight out of my brain. I mean, I have NEVER seen a Newsies reference in a book before. I about screamed with happiness when I saw the name Spot Conlon. Perfection right there.

What I love most about these books are the relationships that are threaded throughout. People who I thought I would never like became people who I would protect with my life - I'm looking at you Prek. But our familiar favorites were there still to - Tad, aka, the best character ever. And seeing them all work together had me cheering.

But as this was the conclusion, it wasn't all jokes and smexy times. There was loss, my heart broke, and hope seemed lost multiple times. I could not see how our group would come out intact and victorious. But this is where Asher shined. As I said in the beginning, I did not see that ending coming. Highly enjoyed this series and will be recommending to others!

It’s needless to say that after the ending of The Blood Witch, I was desperate for THE BOUND WITCH, because I needed to know where the story was going, and how this series was going to end. I wasn’t disappointed! This conclusion perfectly aligns with the story I came to fall in love with. I would have liked to see some things leading to the ending in a bit more detail and a less rushed conclusion, but it didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the book one bit.

More than plot, The Bound Witch focuses on the characters and wrapping up the dynamics introduced throughout the series. The Academy Award goes to Rogan and Lennox. I swear their relationship is one of the hottest, steamiest, slow-burn tortures I’ve ever subjected myself to, but so worth the wait! The heat levels rising were a welcome addition to this sexy story, but I appreciated their down moments even more. Rogan especially underwent an amazing character development arc throughout the series. Is the man perfect? No. He looks perfect, but he’s not, and that just adds to his realism and allure. He makes mistakes but owns up to them, apologizes and tries to do better. If this isn’t devotion to your woman, I don’t know what is. Real world men, please take notes! As for Lennox, well, I adore her. That’s the tweet. Strong, sassy and hilarious until the end. She’ll forever stay one of my favorite protagonists.

I was also very happy with the space given to the secondary characters. We got more Tad, more Elon, more Prek, who I really enjoyed in the previous book. You know what we didn’t get much of? An intrusive werewolf who can’t keep his mouth to himself. That made me very happy, and I’m sure Rogan agrees with me. I do feel like there are some loose threads in the storylines of the secondary characters, which really gives me hope that we’ll be getting a spin-off for this series someday! I just need more Tad and Elon in my life. Please, Ivy, listen to my begging.

Long story short, the entire The Osseous Chronicles series was a blast! I shipped, I cried, I laughed so much my ribs hurt. This series will stay with me forever. If you love witches, romance and humor, pick up this series and thank me later!

Wow. I really have no words to express how much I enjoyed this book. Such a page turner from the first page to the last. The plot was wrapped up so brilliantly with a surprising twist that connected all of the dots. The characters we’ve met along the way came together and formed a group whose interactions I enjoyed so much! My love for Tad and Elon were a confirmation, but I was surprised with how much I liked Prek here. I knew that there was more to him that met the eye, and I was happy to see that was indeed the case.

You know who else was a confirmation? Lennox and Rogan. Goodness, I loved their scenes together! Their frenemy banter was on point in the previous two books, but seeing them as a couple? So worth the wait! I want a Rogan Kendrik immediately.

I’m pretty sure Ivy Asher peppered a little clue about a possible spin off series in this book? I was pleasantly surprised, and I do hope I’m right! I would love to stay more in this world and solve this other mystery she’s teasing us with. Besides, the characters that are the likely protagonists look very promising. Oh, please let this be true!

What do you do when you thought it was all over, only to realize it's all just begun?

Lennox had died. She knew she had died. But now she’s awake again and finds herself back to her friends. Her new family.
But now they must face a new enemy, a bigger force than they could imagine. Her boyfriend’s mother. Oh, and a demon.
It’s time to take the fight to them.
"That's way less Deathly Hallows and the final magical show down than I thought this war was going to be," I admit.

Lennox treats the coffee machine which is a love that I can relate to. I crave the warm morning coffee too.

Elon looks momentarily confused before he opens his arms, clearly expecting my hug trajectory to take me to him. I run right past him, wrapping the espresso maker up in a bear hug so tight that it communicates how much I've missed her and that I never want to leave her again.

I did not enjoy this nearly as much as the first book. It even worsened from the second book. I think it suffers from being such a short book.
It felt more like fan service than anything else.
Also the sex. Why? Why do books take a perfectly good plot and characters and just overshadow them with pointless sex scenes that detract from the story? I don’t need two pages dedicated to a potential foot kink.
However, I did like the representation of anxiety and ptsd. It adds a lot more reality and authenticity to someone who faced what Lennox did.

A satisfying conclusion to a trilogy filled with magic, angst, and romance! I could not put this book down and was constantly wondering in my head what was about to happen next! I am happy to report that this book was packed to the brim with humor like its predecessors and had our gang giving off the cutest family vibes! I loved seeing the sibling banter between Rogan and Elon and seeing Elon love and tease Lennox like a sister, both gave my heart the warm fuzzies! Plus! We FINALLY get to see Rogan and Lennox together as a couple instead of them fighting it. It was well worth the wait in my opinion but I wish we could have seen more of their future together because I'm just greedy that way! The source of conflict was dealt with in a way that I didn't see coming but I kind of wish it was done in a more action packed way! We hear about a war against the council and about the smear campaign but I wish that both held more importance to the plot rather than just being mentioned as a background point as the story progressed. I have a feeling there could be another series taking place in this same world based on how some characters were set up and I would be very intrigued to see what could possibly happen in relation to Diem's two best friends! 👀 Overall, I found this to be a fun witch series that was a great combination of plot, humor, and romance!

3.5 stars. Books 1 and 2 are solid 4 stars for me, but this one just didn't bring it home like they did. It started out good and then got bogged down for a bit before ending. I was satisfied with the resolution of the loose ends left from 1 & 2 but wished it had that extra little bit of something that made the others so good. Still love Leni and Rogan and would love to see what's going on with Tad.

God, the romance in this one was so unbelievable...you want me to believe that after all the shit Rogan pulled, all is forgiven? Gah, Lennox you fickle horny moronic idiot!
Also, the plot of this final book was all over the place: what should've been the "final big battle" happened around the 75% mark and what about the rest of the book, you might ask? Think about the second half of a spoof version  of a Law&Order episode and you get an idea of what it was like.
The whole series felt like it should've been a lot longer, but since it was pretty much a trainwreck, I'm glad it was so short. Bad, bad, bad.

I read the omnibus of this as I have a pretty special edition that I picked up at Rare so I'm reviewing this one as a complete whole. For the most part, I found this an enjoyable read. I'm a huge fan of Order of Scorpions so I was expecting to be all over this as much as I was that one. Unfortunately, this just wasn't in the same hemisphere for me, to be fair to this book though it wasn't the writing, more the writing style. This had a jokey slapstick vibe and Order of Scorpions just read darker and much grittier. So this is more than likely predominantly a me thing.

This follows the journey of newly initiated witch Lennox after she inherits the mantle of Bone witch after the demise of her grandmother. Rather than being born with magic, her line inherits it upon the death of the current Osteomancer and the magic itself crosses over to their successor. Leni never expected to be chosen and this event changes everything for her.

Pulled back into a world she purposely distanced herself from Leni is shockingly ignorant of the politics and internal intricacies. When a gorgeous blood witch turns up at her late grandmother's shop asking for assistance she's dragged headfirst into the mystery of missing witches and when Leni then accidentally tethers them together it makes for a very rocky start.

This is all told from Leni's POV and there's a whole lot of slapstick humour and innuendos thrown around mixed in with all of the danger. I did find myself laughing aloud several times but there were instances where it could get a bit too much. There were also some definite deep moments i just think it was overshadowed somewhat by all of the included humour.I liked Leni a lot she was quite the character, I also found Rogan appealing he was a lot more beta than I usually go for but he was likeable. I did find some of the cutesy PDA used here to be quite cringe but again that's going to be down to personal taste.

Overall though I enjoyed this it isn't one I'd probably re-read but it had a decent strong storyline and it did manage to keep my attention. My favourite part of this was probably the final resolution I appreciated the way this was all wrapped up and vengeful Leni was delicious to behold. In conclusion, this probably rounded out at a 3.5 star read for me some parts shone more than others and were stronger mainly the emotional cliffhangers and the finish which I found strong.

After I sobbed my eyes out at the end of The Blood Witch and rated it a 5/5, this book truly broke my heart. I mean shattered it. I was so excited to read this book, I wasn't certain how many books were planned for this series and the second one was too good. But unfortunately, Ivy Asher did a big no no in my book. An unearned happy ending *duh duh duhhhhhhh*

If there's one thing I cannot stand,

At the end of the day, I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series and can see myself reading The Blood Witch again. But The Bound Witch just gets a meh from me. The ending feels haphazardly thrown together, the protagonists get off a little too easy (especially after the ending of the last book...) and all in all I felt it just didn't do the series justice. 3/5.

I don’t know… I don’t know if it’s a ‘this book’ thing or if it’s because it’s been so long since I last read book 2… I just couldn’t find myself liking this book? I felt like it was so rushed in certain places and then slower than a turtle in other places. The pacing was completely off.
I swear one moment we’re all happy and dandy and then bambambam suddenattack deathkilldeath safe.
Plus the emotions were so false? Book one and Two Rogan and Leni were more or less at each other’s throats, the distrust between then wider than ever. And then suddenly she comes back alive and to heck with all those unresolved issues we love each other soooooo much. I mean. What. I would’ve expected at least some hesitancy? Some negative emotions some sort of barrier being between them. But no. Everything emotional was swept to the side to be dealt with later and that later never came.
Then ofc the boatload of unanswered questions. Is this really the last book? Or is there going to be like a spin off or a series for an existing character? I mean with what happened with Diem I’d assume the latter but then again I can’t really see how that would translate onto this series

So yeah, disappointing to say the least. I dunno maybe I’ll read the whole thing together again at a later date and see if that changes my opinion. Though I’m not too keen on reading this again truth be told. Being let down once is enough.

That was a very satisfying conclusion to Leni and Rogan's story. I got some Hollows vibes from this one that I didn't get from the others with the added demon details.
Things seem to rush towards the end, but lots of little things clicked together perfectly to draw the story to a close.
I am sensing some spin-offs in the works though. Tad and Prek, perhaps? And Colby and Cohen had a story going too.

"Will you go to war with me, Lennox?"
"Lead the way."

This did not end at all how I thought it would. It was a satisfying ending and I did really enjoy it, but it was a little anticlimactic. There were a few loose strings I really wished were tied up as well (I'll list them as a spoiler at the bottom of this review).

"He tastes like the antidote to a poison that’s been threatening my very soul. Every doubt, every second thought and what if burns to ashes in the blaze of what ignites between us."

Overall, this is a fantastic modern paranormal trilogy and I had so much fun reading this! Ivy Asher created a rich story filled with complex characters we got to watch fight and struggle through their grief and pain but also laugh and learn to live again surrounded by their loved ones. A great trilogy to start 2025 off with!

"I’m a bound witch, and maybe, just maybe, that’s a good thing."

* You need to read the previous books to understand this entry in the series.

Waking up in a morgue after being killed is one experience Lennox will never forget. Also, it means that the immortality from Rogan has rubbed off on her and that makes her a target for the corrupt clutches of the High Council. So right after het resurrection Lennox goes right onto being hunted, but with a but of cleverness allies can be found in the weirdest places.

Pro's:
+ This book is very fast-paced and none of the action disappoints, as there are tons of dangerous action scenes and some of the scenes will have you on the edge of your seat. Certainly some events later in the book are very worth reading this.
+ The world of this book is really well done, none of these book were particularly big or lengthy but the author really captured an interesting world between the lines of this book and and that feat on itself makes this a real masterpiece.

Con's:
- There are still some loose ends after this series is now finished. Like I have so many questions and none of them are even close to being answered. I cannot see any follow-up series, so I have to assume none of them will be answered.

This was quite an interesting series and it certainly captured my attention, as you can see at the rapid succession I read these books with. There were cliff hangers, but none of them too annoying and the reading pace of all the books was really nice. The whole series is written from one perspective, but that never becomes boring or redundant. I really liked this series and I would really recommend it of you like sassy PNR novels/series.

After previous book I expected a lot from this conclusion. I expected bang! But this was a little bit lukewarm to be honest. Don't get me wrong I still like these characters - Lennox's love for Ronan's espresso maker is legendary and first meeting of Hoot and the rest of the gang was hilarious (Hoot is deadly). It's just that this book didn't have a great pacing and some part really dragged and that ending wasn't nice surprise.

The Bound Witch is my least favorite book in The Osseous Chronicles but this series is pretty good overall. I would like to read more about these characters and world.

The romance keeps romancing, they don’t go too soppy and lovey dovey - the humour and banter is maintained throughout.

Loved the character building, love Rogan Kendrick even more. This book is a lot more smuttier than the first 2 and I’m very much here for it!

I could have done without the last 50 words of the book, but that’s just because it was very “the end” vibes. Yh i don’t know how else to explain that without spoiling stuff. Some people might finding the ending a bit rushed, but I think it was a good pace.

Overall a great book, I was not disappointed at all.

What a fabulous end to a fast-paced trilogy. Love when the good guys win, true love prevails, and all that jazz.

Now, please tell me she’s doing a spin off about Colby and Cohen. Because I need to know if they get to the bottom of their friend’s death!
