ROYAL RUIN
SUBJECT: Engagement Contract (Marked Confidential) From The Desk of His Royal Highness Prince Christopher
Dear Emily, Thank you for joining me for dinner tonight. And for agreeing to my proposal, as ludicrous as it is. Desperate times call for fake engagements. At least in my family.
I am attaching the contract we discussed. Our lawyers asked that I highlight the following clauses:
•The engagement shall last ninety days •Both parties are to appear genuinely in love at all royal appearances •Beyond required public displays of affection, there shall be no contact of any kind between the parties
The first half of your payment will be deposited into your account upon the signing of this contract. Be sure to note your ring size. We would like to make prompt delivery of the family emerald. The Queen and I thank you in advance for your discretion.
Cheers, His Royal Highness Prince Christopher
P.S.—Sorry to hear about your divorce. Your ex sounds like a proper knob head. P.P.S—You looked stunning tonight.
ROYAL REBEL
SUBJECT: I’m sorry (Marked Confidential) From the Desk of His Royal Highness Prince Robert
Aly, I can’t stop thinking about tonight. Why is it that the sex is so good even though we hate each other so much? We say it will never happen again. Still, I can’t resist having you against the wall in our office every time I see you. But tonight I sense that you are serious about us NEVER. HAPPENING. AGAIN.
You have your new bloke. And I’m…me. The playboy prince. The one not expected to settle down. But staying away from you is already killing me, Aly.
I’m not a good man. But for the first time, I wish I were. Maybe then I’d deserve you. You’re gorgeous. Clever. You call me out on my bulls**t. No one treats me the way you do.
I adore you, sweetheart.
I’m sorry I never had the balls to tell you this to your face. But tonight, it’s the whiskey talking...as they say, a drunk man’s words are a sober man’s thoughts.
xx, Rob
ROYAL ROGUE
Dear Jane, You’re a princess. I’m a thief. This isn’t a Disney movie. We never had a chance in hell of a happy ending. But I still wish I could have given you one.
When we met, I had you pegged as a snob. All tiaras, polo matches and private jets. But you turned out to be the exact opposite. I fell for you the day we met.
I lied to you about a lot of things. I don’t expect or deserve your forgiveness. You’re too good for me. But I was always honest about my feelings for you.
I hope you’ll find true happiness one day.
I’m sorry—
Charlie
PS—don’t let your blackjack game go to crap. Practice it every day, all right?
Jessica Peterson writes romance with heat, humor, and heart. Heroes with hot accents are her specialty. When she’s not writing, she can be found bellying up to a bar in the south’s best restaurants with her husband Ben, reading books with her adorable daughters Gracie and Madeline, or snuggling up with her 70-pound lap dog, Martha.
A Carolina girl at heart, she fantasizes about splitting her time between Charleston and Asheville, but currently lives in Charlotte, NC.
Jessica Peterson’s Thorne Monarchs series is made up of Royal Ruin, Royal Rebel, and Royal Rogue. Each book can be read as a standalone story, yet the series is best enjoyed in order.
Each book in the series is a solid four-star read. All the books grip with ease, sucking the reader in, and ensuring they cannot put it down until all the pieces come together. Filled with wonderful romances and entertaining storylines, each offers something different while ensuring it gives the reader all the feels.
Without a doubt, the Thorne Monarchs series is a must-read for fans of royal romances.
I absolutely LOVED this book!! I loved Kit and Emily and how great they are for each other. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!!
Royal Revel - 5 Stars
The first story in this series was really good but this was AMAZING! I could not put it down. It was so full of heart and emotion. I was completely swept up in it. I loved Aly and Rob and how they challenged each other to be better while accepting each other as they are.
Royal Rogue - 5 Stars
This is a great book. Charlie and Jane are great characters with a great chemistry. The author did a great job of allowing the reader into the heart and minds of both characters so you could really understand them, especially Charlie. I really felt for him in his struggle to figure out what was the right path.
I’ve very much enjoyed reading The Thorne Monarchs series by Jessica Peterson.
I wish the Royal Family were as down to earth as the Thornes. Who knows, maybe they are! Of course you will need to suspend your disbelief, but it would be worth it if you do. Kit, Rob, Jane, and their partners Emma, Aly, and Charlie are the quirky kind of family any romance reader would love to read.
