In this book you will find a clear and accessible explanation of the simple and yet profoundly transformative spiritual teachings of the great Indian sage Ramana Maharshi. Ramana is known as one of the greatest Hindu realizers of the twentieth Century and the practice of Self Inquiry that he taught has awakened and transformed the lives of countless people throughout the world. In this book, Jeff Carreira uses personal reflections and vivid descriptions to illuminate the practice of Self Inquiry and the miraculous awakening that can result from it.
Jeff Carreira is an author, mystical philosopher and meditation teacher. His novels use the powerful medium of story to illuminate the mysterious ways in which we can awaken to the invisible realms and hidden truths that always lie just beyond the familiar world around us. His stories challenge our fundamental notions about what is real, by presenting characters who find themselves having experiences, or landing in circumstances, that force them to question everything they ever thought. What they discover, in a variety of ways, is that reality is much different than they could have imagined.
This little book by Jeff Carreira represents his reflections on the teaching of Ramana Maharshi. The text serves as a good introduction to Ramona’s teachings. Better yet, Jeff incorporates his own spiritual reflections. The book provides a mirror for anyone seeking freedom to look into their own heart.
Beautifull (im)personal introduction in the teachings of Ramana Maharishi by Jeff Carreira. One of the qualities of these little books is that it is brought down to it's simplicity and essence. Probably I start to get ready to let the information sink in without much interference of the mind. Or that the mind starts to see the common sense of this non-dual approach of our inner- and outer reality.
It starts and ends with the simple question WHO AM I ? And when the heart and mind are ready this question roots and expands within us, differently but surely, ever evolving with no beginning and no end. Just let the mind and heart embrace the mystery of who it is we've always been and always will be. Wonder, laugh, resist whatever pops up, it is part of the journey in some unique universal language we all speak differently. Have fun.
