Bliss River #2

Falling for the Ex

Rate this book
Alternate cover edition of ASIN B08D5B4MP5 can be found here, under its original title of Married to the Enemy

“You’ve been served, ma’am.” As if being called ‘ma’am’ isn’t bad enough. Turns out, my cheating ex is suing me for custody of our daughter.

This means war.

I may have stayed mostly rational while the jerk dipped his wick all over the county, but now I’m going full mama bear on his hide. Don’t mistake the filtered mom-of-a-toddler speak for meekness because son of a biscuit, I’m aiming to straight-up knee the man in his twig and berries.

Fancy lawyer, private detective, you name it, I’m doing it.

But then my other ex, Nash, my first crush (first everything, really) who I have a decade-long love-hate relationship with, gives me the idea for the craziest solution of all…

* * * * *

Did I really just agree to what I think I did? With the one human who can drive me crazier than anyone ever has, and likely ever will? The mother of undoubtedly the cutest toddler ever? The woman whose prick of an ex-husband makes me want to aim my service weapon at his head?

Yes. Yes, I did.

And that’s how we end up tying the knot at the courthouse.

I know this all started as an albeit convoluted way to help Aria keep custody of her kid. But when the lines start blurring and playing pretend house becomes something I don’t ever want to give up, I know playtime is over.

Now it’s time I convince my prickly bride to start falling in love with me (again).

Previously titled Married to the Enemy. Same swoony, feel-good story, just with a fresh title and cover makeover.

Crying babies make the best matchmakers…

Oh, how I loved going back to Bliss River! Lark and Mason got their HEA in Dating Dr. Dreamy and I was so happy that Aria was getting her chance. And it was a second chance with Nash, after a teenage love went spectacularly sour, after years of animosity, they had a chance to get it right...

And it wasn’t just the two of them this time. Aria’s adorable baby was front and center in this fake marriage, one of the catalysts to bring these two out of their feud and focused on two very separate goals. Gaining permanent custody was Aria’s aim, and Nash was surprisingly happy to help as long as his ex had a front row seat…

Full of angst and a whole lot of humour (I started to smile when I spotted a new text conversation coming), these two had a barrel of hostility that slowly melted away under the charm of a beautiful baby and a united front against interfering family. It was sweet, messy and sweaty and all the good romantic things, as this story flew to the perfect happily ever after… ~Diane, 4.5 stars

Married to the Enemy is the second book in the Bliss River series by Lili Valente. I love second chance romances and enemies to lovers and Lili gives us both! And oh my word, Nash is something else. He might be one of my favorite characters of Lili's with his sexy body to his sweetness to that accent. Dear Lord. You need to experience this book in audio if you want to hear Jason Clarke with a southern accent. I was swooning all over the place. Lili is the perfect Aria with her sultry and sweet voice. I love when authors narrate their own books, you can feel their emotions coming through so much more. Nash and Aria knew each other years ago. They were young and in love and they were torn apart. Then they became enemies and have been ever since. But now they both need something and the other is the perfect person to deliver. It's a fake marriage with real feelings. Nash not only wants Aria for real, but her beautiful daughter, Felicity, too. Again, Nash with the baby…swoon!! There's nothing better than a big strong man and a cute baby. I loved this story! Nash and Aria found their soul mate years ago and there's never really been anyone else. I loved how they were open and honest with each other and what they wanted. It was never really fake for either of them and it was beautiful to watch them fall in love again! The writing is fantastic, the narration a pleasure to my ears!

This book can be enjoyed as a standalone but it does tie in with some of the characters from the first book Dating Dr. Dreamy.
Aria and Nash have quite the history and in a small town like Bliss River old grudges are hard to let go of. But when circumstances push the two of them back together their chemistry is undeniable regardless of what their families might think. And what starts out as a marriage of convenience turns into the real deal:)

Book 2 in the Bliss River series and I loved it as much as the first. Loved this second chance/enemies to lovers/fake marriage romance. They met at art camp and became infatuated with each other. They planned on making it official after camp was over but thanks to a huge misunderstanding, it didn’t happen. Because of this, a huge rift was created and lasted for years. Fast forward 12 years later, they would need each other’s help. Loved Nash and Aria together. The chemistry and attraction between them was so intense. Loved watching them navigate this fake marriage into a real one. Wonderful characters and story that will keep you invested and rooting for their HEA. I can’t wait til Melody’s story. Highly recommend

The audio book version of this included a short at the end called Waking up Married. As it doesn't exist here on GR as it own book, I'll just put it here in the mean time so I won't forget it later: 2-3 stars.

Married to the Enemy is the second book in the Bliss River Series. We finally get to learn about Aria and Nash’s history and why now hate each other. I loved their story!

Aria and Nash were each other’s secret first loves but had been torn apart by their families and misunderstandings. Years later the attraction is still there, but can they let go of their anger long enough to rediscover feelings that had never died? Throw in marriage of convenience, feuding parents and an adorable baby and you have a fun story with a bit of angst and heartbreak.

Aria and Nash are so great together. Even when they are fighting, they work. They are passionate and the chemistry between them is explosive. As they get to know each other again, you can see that if outside influences hadn’t torn them apart, they would probably still be together.

I highly recommend both books in this series. If you love a single parent, enemies to lovers, fake relationship book that has tons of warmth and heart and will leave your heart feeling happy, you won’t want to miss this book.

I was still upset with Aria after the last book. But I was definitely curious to know more about Nash! We only met him briefly in Dating Dr. Dreamy. And the two of them clearly had a sordid past that I was dying to hear about. Married to the Enemy satisfied all my curiosities. And Jason Clarke reading Nash with a drawl? Whoa! *Fans self* This book was sweet, romantic, and steamy. My anger faded as I got to know Aria better. She has a lot of insecurities, which is understandable considering what her ex is like. Nash was honest and caring and seductive. And is there anything hotter than a guy who loves babies? *Swoon* I only wish Aria had caused him to make good on his promise in the beer garden.

Audiobook

Aria and Nash

6hr audiobook. Takes 1hr 18mins to start. Over an hour of back story. 😴
It gets a lot better at 2 hrs and pace picks up.
The couple doesn't really spend a lot of time together.
The separation the last hour of the audiobook didn't make sense.

I liked the couple but didn't really like the way the book was written.

ok so i read this as a standalone bc i like angst and marriage of convenience tropes. i would give it a 5 star if there’s more drama like rachel (nash’s ex) coming into play to sabotage their relationship, or something like that. but one takeaway here is that i find aria’s dad to be very unpleasant. his reaction in the beginning was totally understandable. but his prank and behaviour 12 years later? bye

anyway, gist of this book: aria met nash in camp when she was 15 and he was just 18 then. something happened and they became enemies. twelve years later, aria finds out that her baby daddy/ex wants custody. she then comes across nash at a fair and drunkenly spills all her woes. nash is also at predicament at that point where he told his ex rachel that he is going to propose to his new gf soon. so from there, they brainstormed a fake marriage for a win-win situation i guess.

This is book two in the Bliss River series and it is such a great story. We learned of Aria and Nash in book one, Dating Dr. Dreamy. It was suggested they had a past but we didn't really know what that past was or what all Aria was hiding about her failed marriage. Now we get Aria's story and learn of her young love of Nash and now they need each other and come up with a plan to help each other but their plan of a fake marriage becomes real and now what?

This is so well written and I enjoyed it. I highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed almost all of this book. There were a couple of cringy parts, and of course, there was a ridiculous, unnecessary 3rd act breakup, but everything else was really good.

Falling for the Ex is the second book in the Bliss River series by Lili Valente. You can read it as a standalone but I recommend reading Dating Dr. Dreamy since it’s fun and sexy and it’s also when these enemies see each other again after years apart. Aria and Nash, this is their story and it’s a beautiful one.

This one time at Art Camp...

Aria and Nash met. They had fun. They fell in love. Then, a month later it was over. And over the next few years, they either ignore each other or threw daggers. Aria moved away and now she was back home as a single mother to a cute as a button eleven month old, Felicity. Living with her parents, working as a pastry chef for her sister and being a kickass mom has been rewarding and hard at the same time. And now, her ex-husband has decided that he wants to be in Felicity’s life, as her sole guardian and Aria will do anything to stop him, even marry the enemy...

Nash loved her. He really did. She was his first love. That was until they broke each other’s hearts. She was back and after a trip to the fair and seeing his most recent mistake, he was about tho make another one. To marry the one girl who could break his heart for a second time. It was a win-win, really. He felt something a few months ago when he met Felicity, she was so sweet and her mother was so sassy so he agrees to help them out. At the same time he can show his ex that he has moved on.

It’s complicated and beautiful at the same time. They get to learn each other again. They have time to explore and to see if it was real love twelve years ago or just puppy love. But, will their families accept them as a couple? They have history that includes some hurtful words, and terrible decisions.

Aw!! I knew this was going to be good but damn...it was awesome! Aria wasn’t looking for love and Nash was over it until they had this crazy idea. And I love crazy ideas. And, Felicity is freaking adorable!! It was wonderful to catch up with Lark and Mason and to get a glimpse it Melody’s next adventure...

Quotes:

Kissing Nash is heaven and hell all tangled up together, enough to make my soul light up with joy and my body ache with a hunger that’s almost painful.

“I’ll wear white.”
“I’ll wear a suit and bring you flowers and do my best to make this work,” he says, before adding in a low voice. “But the next time you look down your nose at me in public, you’re getting a spanking.”

She threads her fingers into my hair. “How could I have forgotten this?”
“Forgotten what?” I run a finger beneath the elastic, already dying to taste her, to get my mouth between her legs and make her lose control on my tongue.
“That your mouth is magic,” she whispers.
“I haven’t even started with the magic yet, Red.”

Married to the Enemy is the second book in Lili Valente’s Bliss River series based upon the romantic lives of the three March sisters Aria, Lark and Melody. This one is focused on the oldest sister Aria, who considers herself the “Black Sheep” of her family because she’s lived an unconventional life compared to her two younger sisters. The story opens in a flashback to 12 years ago when the not quite 16-year-old Aria has snuck out of her cabin at art camp to meet Nash her new crush. Nash has just turned 18 and is a big kid who will grow into a big man. These two have been stealing kisses from each other for days now even though the camp has strict rules regarding no physical contact between the boy and girl campers. But young love won’t be denied. Aria is unusually mature for her age is ready to give her V-card to Nash when they meet out in the woods. Nash truly cares for Aria and isn’t going to let her do anything she isn’t sure about. But Aria feels she’s ready and wants him to be her first and maybe her last. I will confess that the idea of a 15-year-old having sex made me a bit uncomfortable. Unfortunately or fortunately before they can do the deed they are discovered by the camp leaders in a very compromising position. Their parents are called as the camp rules state that anyone who sneaks out after bed check is automatically sent home. Further complicating matters is with Nash being just turned 18 and Aria not yet 16, Nash could be charged with statutory rape. Aria’s father comes charging into the office where they are both waiting and unloads on Nash accusing him of being a child molester. Aria is at first too choked up to defend Nash. By the time she stops crying and speaks up in his defense his mother has already taken him and they leave camp. Aria has no contact with Nash for the next month and when she finally sees him while shopping for back to school clothes she runs out of the store and chases after him. But Nash is hurt that she hasn’t contacted him and makes a snide remark. She responds in kind and they both walk away hurt and angry. For the next few years whenever they run into each other its much of the same as they go from almost lovers to enemies. After graduating from high school Aria leaves to fulfill her dream of traveling the world, having many adventures and going to French pastry school. Nash goes from working construction to becoming a police officer, rapidly rising through the ranks to become captain.
Fast forward 12 years and Aria is back living at home with her parents with her almost one-year old daughter Felicity, the product of a long-term relationship she had with her now ex-boyfriend Liam when they were living together in Nashville. Liam kept putting off getting married and when she catches him cheating on her she returns to Bliss River living with her parents and working with her younger sisters in Lark’s fledgling catering business as the pastry chef. Then one day she is served with papers by Liam asking for full custody of Felicity claiming he can provide a better safer home for her because he married the woman Aria caught him cheating with. Because her father had gotten drunk at his high school reunion and he and some old buddies had been arrested for streaking down Main St. Liam is claiming he is a sexual pervert and living in his house is an unsafe environment. This despite the fact Liam has made no attempts to see Felicity or contribute anything to her support. One of the weak points to this story is Liam’s sudden interest in having custody of Felicity is never explained. Aria is beside herself at the idea she might lose custody of Felicity or have to move back to Nashville so Liam can have shared custody with her. Her family convinces her to go to the county fair as planned with her sisters to get her mind off of her troubles. While there and three beers in she runs into Nash who is trying to forget his live-in girlfriend Rachel whom he came home to find screwing another guy in his bed. He has just run into Rachel with her now fiancée at the entrance to the fair. Because this is a contemporary romance which at its heart means it’s a romantic fairytale, Nash agrees to accompany Aria to the beer tent for more beer. While there they hatch a plot where they will get married so that Aria can show the courts she has a safe, stable environment for Felicity to live in and a partner to help raise her. Nash can show Rachel that he’s over her and was willing to give another woman the ring he wasn’t willing to give her. So the next day the meet at the courthouse and get married. And again because this is a romantic fantasy nobody in Aria’s family except her father seems to question the fact she’s married a guy she couldn’t stand the sight of for the past dozen years.
Of course because these two have always meant to be together their plans to have a platonic relationship when they are in private doesn’t last very long. Forced to live together old wounds are healed and the chemistry that has always been there boils over. They decide to try and give their fake marriage a real chance. Things are going great and neither could be happier that they are finally with the one they were always meant to be with. But again because this is a contemporary romance there has to be some hurdles to cross before they can have their happily ever after. I’m not going to tell you what they are. I’ll just say that I think Nash was being a dumb ass and should have listened to Aria to begin with. The author also devotes a chapter toward the end to set up her next book a romance between Aria’s sister Melody who at 22 is still a virgin and Nick, Nash’s bad boy younger brother. Which is why the book is called The Virgin and the Bad Boy.
All in all this was a nice fairly short book and I don’t mean nice to be derogatory. It was a cute story with plenty of romance, some happy feels with little Felicity a fair amount of steamy sex and only a small amount of angst. The main characters and all the secondary characters were highly likable. I’ll gladly give it 3.5 stars.

If you love second chances, bad boy/good girl, single parent, fake marriage, or enemies to lovers then this is the book for you. And I may have overlooked a couple of other tropes. I’m always a little torn with second chances, although it’s one of my favorites. A part of me mourns for all those lost years and missed opportunities, but the bigger part happy sighs it’s way through watching two souls meant for each other finally find their way back and fall in love all over again.

Aria March and Nash Geary met at art camp one summer. She was the innocent, upper middle-class good girl, and he was the older guy from the other side of the tracks. None of that mattered where young love was concerned, until they got caught together after curfew. Let’s just say that things didn’t end well, and when Aria finally mustered up her courage to talk to Nash weeks later, things went even worse.

Years later, Aria has returned to Bliss River with her infant daughter, working with her sisters at Ever After Catering and doing her best as a single parent with help from her family. Just when things are looking up, Aria's scoundrel of an ex, who’s now married, serves her with papers seeking custody of the daughter he's ignored since Felicity was born. It would certainly give a more positive impression to the court if Aria weren’t living with her parents, and it would look even better if Aria had a husband. This, along with Nash's ex of six weeks flaunting her new engagement and too much beer consumed at the county fair, results in Aria and Nash saying “I do" at the Bliss River courthouse.

Not only is this a small-town romance, but it's from one of my favorite funny ladies, so it's an auto buy for me. I enjoyed getting to know the March family in the first book, so I was eager to get my hands on Aria and Nash's story. And I loved it! I love the charms and quirks of Bliss River, the helpful, sometimes interfering, messy families, and especially Aria, little Felicity and Nash together. And Nash with Felicity? Gah! How a nine-month-old girl could have so much personality is beyond me, but she had Nash wrapped around her tiny pinkie and I swooned all over myself.

Nash and Aria have what we’ve all wished for at some point in our lives. Someone who sees us, the good and the bad, and still chooses us. Someone who loves us unconditionally, and someone who just wants to be a part of our happiness. *sigh* And maybe the fact that Aria and Nash missed out on so many years together makes their hard-won HEA that much sweeter. Their road to forever is sweet and funny yet, at times, precarious and heartbreaking, and the bumps and turns will give you the best kind of emotional workout. It's a delightful, heartfelt, glorious ride that you won’t want to miss.

I loved this book!! What a pleasure it was to listen too! Jason Clarke and Lili Valente are absolute magic to listen to as Nash and Aria. They make you feel everything their characters are feeling and going through and have such soothing voices. And Jason with a mild southern drawl is positively delicious and so sexy! I just love when they collaborate on audiobooks. I am also really loving this series so far, the characters are all so likable, relatable and lovable.
Nash and Aria have a brief interaction in the last book that has had me wondering what could have possibly happened between them to elicit that kind of reaction when they see each other again for the first time in years at her sister’s BBQ.
We don’t have to wait long to find out what that was in this book as we are witness to exactly what took place when they were teenagers. Fast forward a decade and they run into each other at a fair, and each have some less than desirable situations going on in their lives especially Aria. To help each other out, they decide on a fake marriage, which of course turns into a second chance for them and it is so wonderful. I love when they realize they should maybe give it a real shot, because Nash is pretty irresistible as a fake husband and step dad and I don’t know how Aria was resisting the urge to jump his bones.
I absolutely adore the way Nash loves Aria’s baby girl Felicity, it is just the sweetest and made me swoon as much as the way he treats Aria does, but that nickname he gives her is awful lol.
But things that are that good can’t possibly last when there are strong forces working against them, especially if they are close family members, can they? This definitely makes the story take a difficult and emotional turn for a little while. My heart hurt so much for them. Can their love see them through? Of course it can, this is a romance after all, so that’s not really a spoiler. There has to be a happily-ever-after!

Nice little bonus short story at the end too!!

Married the Enemy is Aria and Nash's story and the second book in Lili Valente's new Bliss River Series. We first got a glimpse of the dynamic of Aria and Nash's relationship in Lark and Mason's book, Dating Dr. Dreamy. I had a feeling their story was going to be explosive.

In the small town of Bliss River, the March Family is well known and respected. Aria is the oldest of the three March sisters. She's single mom to Felicity, works with her sisters as pastry-chef in their catering business, and is currently living back at home with her parents after a failed "not" marriage. Growing up, Nash Geary didn't have the same advantaged that Aria had. His family wasn't as well off as the March Family. Twelve years ago, when they were just teenagers, Aria and Nash fell in love when they met in Art Camp. After a "misunderstanding" tore them apart without so much as a good-bye, Aria and Nash's love turned into hate, but 12 years later Nash and Aria come together in order to help each other in a very unique way. Unable to fight their undeniable chemistry, Aria and Nash give in to temptation, but what happens when the past comes knocking on their door?

I absolutely loved everything about this book. Lili Valente writes such amazing characters who are perfectly imperfect and that makes them very easy to relate to. This book had a lot of steamy scenes and I know the chemistry between Aria and Nash was going to be explosive, but it also had some pretty difficult parts. Aria's dad, Mr. March, is not my favorite person at all. Not only because of his accusations, but also because I feel he placed an expectations on his daughters that made them feel as if they don't do things in a certain order in life then they're doing it wrong. Some of his words were really harsh. Living in small towns definitely means some drama, but I loved how Aria and Nash stood up for themselves and for each other. It was 12 years; 12 years of misunderstanding and assumptions that stood in their way.

I can't wait to read Melody and Nick's story.

Married To The Enemy mixes together a bunch of fun romance tropes...enemies to friends, single parent and marriage of convenience...for Aria and Nash. I’ll admit, Aria was not my favorite person going into this book, because of her attitude and actions in book one of the series (which you don’t need to read to enjoy this one...but it was awesome as well!) But I assumed, correctly, that she’d be redeemed and we’d learn more about why she is the way she is,
Turns out, she and Nash knew each other as teens at summer camp and fell in love. Things did not end well and frankly, Nash has every right to hate the March family. But he puts all that aside to help his former love fight off her ex’s custody grab by helping this single mom and her sweet baby “Skeeter”. Nash is sexy sweetness on a stick and I fell for him right away. He’s definitely had lingering feelings for Aria, despite the disaster in the past. He’s a really good guy, looking to do the right thing, even if it does benefit him as well.
I definitely credit Lili Valente for turning my displeasure with Aria’s actions into understanding and redemption. This reader was given a background and circumstances that were believable and forgivable. Aria is flawed, as is everyone and appreciate how she is written. I absolutely had a change of heart about her!
As much as I loved book one in Bliss River, I think Married To The Enemy edged it out in character development and growth. Can I give it 5.25 stars instead!?

It's been 12 long years since Nash and Aria have seen each other. 12 years ago when they were young and captured in their love bubble. 12 years ago when one night changed everything. So what a surprise when Nash bumps into Aria when attending a friends BBQ. Neither are happy to see each other after having pretty harsh words the last time they saw each other. However, the attraction they shared 12 years ago still lingered between them. Both desperate to remove their past relationships from their lives and to regain control, leads them to walk down the aisle, Town Hall that is. Pretending to love each other so that Aria can keep custody of her daughter Felicity and Nash to show his ex that he has moved on with his life. What started as pretending leads to so much more. However, when loved ones in Nash and Aria's lives have a say in their life, that perfect little love bubble starts to deflate a little at a time. Can Nash and Aria overcome the obstacles thrown at them from their loved ones? Is love enough to keep them together as a family?
Lili Valente brought to life a love story of two soul mates that have had to battle their way through life to get to one another. Years ago their love started and it was abruptly halted. Years later Nash and Aria have a chance to rekindle what they started 12 years ago, but will outer influences allow them to have their happily ever after. LOVED Nash and Aria.

Super swoony marriage of convenience

Oh my goodness I just loved Aria and Nash’s marriage of convenience second chance love story. It’s filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love. I read the book in one sitting and smiled my way through the whole story. The book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, steamy scenes, supportive nosy family, laughs, painful pasts, evil exes, a cute baby, and all the sweet love. Aria is a pastry chef and co-owner of a catering company as well as a single mom. Nash is a captain in the police department . Aria and Nash met as teenagers and thought they were in love but the fallout of being caught in a compromising position made them enemies. Fast forward more than a decade, Aria is about to fight a custody battle with a bad ex and Nash accidentally announced he had a fiancée to his bad ex. Cue the marriage of convenience plan to solve all their problems. The book does a phenomenal job of taking us on the journey of Aria and Nash as they struggle to transition from sort of enemies to fake marriage to forever. While Aria and Nash follow the inevitable path to being together, it is painful but also beautiful to watch their growth and missteps. The story included witty dialogue, three dimensional relatable characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. I will definitely be reading more in the series. 4.5 stars

After reading book 1 in this series, I couldn't wait to read book 2 and oh my gosh, I loved it so much! Lili Valente has outdone herself with this series! In this series, it's immediate that I feel like I'm sitting down with friends and we pick up where we left off! Book 1 and 2 truly had me captivated from the beginning!

This story is about Nash and Aria. They were in camp together when they were younger. She wasn't sure why but he seems interested in her and as they got to know each other, it was clear to her he was very special. That is, until one night they were meeting late at night to go further than kissing and they got caught. Both parents were called and Nash went home, while Aria got to stay. Both of them were crushed that night, but each just didn't know the other was.

Years later at the county fair, there's Nash..ugh! She'd seen him once and he was mean to her so, of course, she blew him off. But, in her drunken stupor and her ex trying to sue her for custody of Felicity, she and Nash come to an arrangement/ agreement....to get married. It'll help out both of their situations (her ex and his ex). Bad idea, right? Let's just say it's a win win situation for Nash, Aria and Felicity!

I loved this story so much!! The characters are amazing and I loved that Aria's other two sisters and Mason were a part of this story!

Five stars for this newest addition to Lili Valente’s Bliss River series.

It’s been 12 years since Nash and Aria’s love at first sight encounter in their youth. But when their escapades are discovered and misunderstandings surface, the only thing they have in common is their dislike for one another. But when Aria and Nash unexpectedly cross paths and share their current unfortunate circumstances with one another, in the spur of the moment, they agree to a marriage of convenience in hopes of staving off troubles or embarrassment, respectively. But as they begin to share their lives as a family which includes her infant daughter, Felicity, both Nash and Aria come to their own realization that what they shared all those years ago was truly special. The question is, can they let go of those misunderstandings, admit their true feelings and build the life together that they both really desire?

I really enjoyed Married to the Enemy. The love Nash and Aria share is truly special and with the addition of her daughter, Felicity, this story is perfect. I love how deeply Nash is committed to building a family with Aria and her daughter, and the immediate connection he shares with Felicity is absolutely magical. There’s never a doubt that they all truly belong together. Swoonworthy times ten.

Note: An ARC was provided by the author.

Ooh, Aria and Nash brought the heat and had a lot of heart! Add to that Skeeter, erm, I mean Felicity, and the whole family dynamic was just too adorable to resist. These two held on to their animosity towards each other for a dozen years, and I understood why they went from young lovers to sworn adversaries. I appreciated that they led separate lives and had their own share of experiences because they did need some growing up. I'm also not one of those readers who expects the main characters in a second-chance romance to not become involved with other people, especially when the separation lasts for quite a number of years. That's just flat-out unrealistic to me--or maybe I'm being cynical, but I'm not going to complain about main characters who live their lives outside of each other when the original run of their relationship ends. I liked seeing Aria and Nash get to know one another again, and create their own dynamic as a couple and a family alongside Felicity. There is some drama, but not from within their little unit, and that added an interesting angle. This book was endearing, and I was very much entertained. Five stars go to Married to the Enemy.

This is book 2 in the series but the books are standalone, although there are repeating characters. In this book, Aria, who was a bit of a mean character in the prior book (she was really hurt from a past relationship) rekindles her relationship with Nash, who was her childhood love. I liked the flashback although there were many similarities to the first book so I was a bit confused initially as to whether I was listening to the right book! Anyway, the gist of this book is that Aria is facing a possible loss of custody of her adorable daughter even though the father obviously doesn't really want to be a part of her life. She meets up again with her prior love, Nash, who needs a fake fiancee to save face with a woman who cheated on him. They get closer but can they get past the, well, past? I found that the little segment when the point of view shifted to Melody, the third sister (who will be featured in the next book), was a bit unnecessary. But otherwise, it was a fast moving fun book with very low angst which was perfect for what I wanted today.

I listened to the audiobook and it was cute. Jason Clarke is one of my favorite narrators and he is amazing. Lili Valente is also a great narrator and did well.

The whole "marriage of convenience" trope is my catnip, and it being with an ex boyfriend? Well let's just say I was all over that. Unfortunately, (skids to a sudden stop), everything happened at the speed of light. Nash and Aria met at an art camp at 16 and 18 yrs old. They got caught messing around, both parents blamed the other family/child for their upbringing and forbade them to see each other. Nash was a senior in high school, getting ready to graduate, so basically, that was that. Fast forward ten years; they saw each other 2 times and decided to get married so they could "stick it" to their exes and then within a few weeks they were dishing out their undying love. Then there was silly bit of family drama that I suppose was supposed to add angst; Nash's mother accused Aria of being a gold digger and Aria's dad accused Nash of being a child molester because Nash, who just turned 18, was fooling around with Aria who was days from turning 16 yrs old. So, Nash thought it would be a good idea if he moved out for a week and they had some space to think about their future. At the end of a week, he came home and they lived happily ever after. If you're looking for a quick, and fluffy read, this will fit the bill.

I’m really enjoying this Bliss River series. This is the second installment, Nash and Aria’s story.

I listened to the audiobook, and Lili and Jason do a wonderful job narrating. Jason has a gift with accents, and this treat of his many Southern accents is so swoony. This second chance/enemies to lovers tale began when Nash and Aria were teenagers at summer camp. Young first love is going well, until it isn’t. Then, they spend over a decade trading barbs and being sworn enemies.

When Nash and Aria both find themselves in a bad situation—with the assistance of beer—they come up with the grand scheme to get married. This will satisfy both their issues, and after a while of wedded bliss, they’ll go their separate ways. Yeah, right! This is when everything gets very complicated. Playing house wasn’t as simple as either of them thought it would be.

I loved this story, and how Nash and Aria’s families played a big role in their relationship. Family means a lot to both, but how much do you allow them to affect your happiness? You get a catchup from the first book in this series, and a little bit of a tease with the third March sister, and Nash’s brother.

I adored this story.

This story had me hooked from their first meeting at summer camp. God - I giggled at these two at first and then circumstances tore them apart. My heart hurt when they met again under very different and much less friendly circumstances. Had to remind myself they are young and a little stupid!

Now it is twelve years later and both have been burned by past relationships. Aria and Felicity are trying to get their feet under them and Nash has grown into a fine, respected lawman. When they meet up again (their previous recent meeting occurred before this story starts) - they aren't necessarily thrilled to see each other. But the chemistry can't be denied and they each need the other to help them out of a fix. Fake marriage, anyone?!?

While this could have been like most of this trope - this one had so much heart and watching these two fall in love all over again was so special. I really adored their family unit SO MUCH!

"I'm just so glad we found our way back to each other before I settled for something less than the real thing."

This is a revised version of a Jessie Evans book. Better, sweeter the second time around!

I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.

After reading the first book in this series I couldn't wait to dive into this one. This book had me at single mom. I loved the tension between Aria and Nash. Oh my gosh, Nash with little Felicity will melt your heart. Those are some ovary exploding scenes for sure! They may be enemies, but man oh man do the sparks fly between those two. All too soon this pretend arrangement begins to feel all too real. This book had me rooting for the two of them right from the beginning. They so deserve a HEA. Fate has given these two a second chance. Will they grab it with both hands? Or is history going to repeat itself? This is definitely a must read. The characters are great, even the secondary ones. I liked the little set up for the last sister. I'm already intrigued. This book met all my expectations and more.
