"reminder —
self-love is also telling
yourself that you deserve
better from you.”

“stop trying to find
peace of mind
in people that
never brought you
peace.”

“some friendships
aren’t meant to last.
so don’t make them.

“some people will see
that your cup is full
and purposely spill theirs
just to take from yours.”

“you don’t have to
accept less than what
you know you deserve
just because it is all
they have to offer.
someone else will
offer you more.

“you are not responsible
for anyone’s healing
but your own.”

I wanted to check this collection out because I follow this gorgeous lady on Instagram! (She has literally the best feed)

This short read contains so many sweet self-affirmations. Many of them I have heard before, but I've heard them before because they're so important and true. I think that this would be an excellent collection to read if you're having a bad day and don't quite believe in yourself as much as you'd like at the moment.

This collection gives Milk and Honey energy, but Tamarra is much more to the point in her writing. I liked the small chunk of text surrounded by white space on the page, and I feel like that may be purposely done to literally and figuratively give you some time and space to think about the words on the page. That's just a theory of mine, but I enjoyed this collection greatly.

I also appreciated that this collection wasn't just all about being gentle with yourself, but rather being gentle with yourself while also holding yourself accountable for your wrongdoings. It's so easy to always play yourself as the victim, and it's so important to learn how to hold yourself accountable and learn from your mistakes.

I greatly enjoyed this quick and easy read! There were some great ideas and thoughts in here.

"SPOILERS AHEAD"

You are allowed
to grow at
your own pace

You no longer
have to rest in
the pain.
you’re allowed
to move on.

reminder -
you can always
start again

hold onto the lesson
not the person.

still in your woundedness
you are worthy.
still in your pain
you are strong.
still in your loneliness
you are loved. always.

be gentle with yourself —
you’re slowly growing
into the person you’ve
always wanted to become.

your superpower is that
you are still here.
despite everything
you are still standing strong.

don’t shrink.
don’t shrink.
don’t shrink.
don’t shrink.
don’t shrink.
don’t shrink.
ever.

Stop trying to find
peace in of mind
in people that
never brought you
Peace

I can't tell you that this
healing will be easy
but i can assure you
that it will be worth it

you are still
seeking perfection.
that’s the problem.

there is nothing wrong
with not always rising.
sometimes it’s best to
sit with the pain and
rise once it passes.

when one door closes
find a new way in.

if you’re tired of
reliving the pain
try harder to
learn the lesson.

love doesn’t have
to be hard. love
doesn’t
have
to
be
hard.

“you deserve the same love
you give out freely
to others.”

Picked this up when I was at one of my lowest moments in life and I must say, some words hit home and has brought me solace as I went through the pages.

An easy read, especially when you need to hear something nobody has said to you before.

Much love ❤️

i relate to most of her words, i really enjoyed reading this book, it made me feel like i am not the only one who’s been through it and i hope everyone find their way to the light or maybe the light is inside you and that’s why you didn’t find the end of the tunnel, you weren’t searching in the right place 🤗

What a good read before hitting the sack!

"dear self,
temporary loneliness will always be better than permanent scars."

Definitely gave me something to chew on while drifting off.

This is one of those collections that needs to be read at the right time and the person should be going through similar things to be able to relate. This wasn't as much a poetry book as it was a collection of reminders and affirmations to help give the reader a 'pick-me-up' in a time of need. I just wish people would stop disguising self-help books calling them poetry and thinking no one will notice. If you want to write a self-help book, do it! If you want to write poetry, then write poetry.

“you are deserving and worthy of love. and love is worthy and deserving of you.” 🤍

“maybe the miracle you've been praying for has been praying for you. you're the miracle.” ✨

“there is a heaven in you waiting to be witnessed” 🥺

“whatever you do never stop loving hard.” 🫀

“you can’t yet see the light at the end of the tunnel because the light is in you.” 💫

For someone who struggles with self love, a lot of the mini poems in this book really spoke to me💕 I did also gift this book to the girlies at the Galentine’s Day party I hosted and they’ve all been giving feedback on how much they loved it. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick read that reminds you to love yourself in every way, even if no one else will.🤍✨ You are LOVED.
