**SPELLBINDING!**** I refused to stop reading or put the book down until I was finished.**WHEN LOVE DESTROYS ALL... Bakari Youngblood is moving back home to Washington, DC, and his family could not be happier. But not Kameron, his brother’s wife and the love of his life, with whom he shared a weekend of passion. Now that he’s back and tantalizingly insistent that they continue to explore their love, Kameron is even more determined to suppress her desires for him and focus on her marriage. Although her heart belongs to Bakari, Kameron believes she and Aaron can still be happy. All of that changes when her supposedly faithful and dutiful husband comes home late one night with a flimsy excuse. Now, Kameron wonders if Aaron is having an affair and if Bakari knew all along. As she battles her heart and conscience about her feelings toward her marriage and Bakari, secrets are slowly revealed that threaten to destroy the picture-perfect Youngbloods and the very fabric of their lives.
I want my readers to escape their realities and embark on a journey of self-exploration and love when they delve into my books. I have loved reading fiction, thrillers, and romance for years. Although my original (and still) writing interest was YA and self-help books, I received a surprise text one Valentine's Day, and wrote the very first chapter of a romance novel that day. And I became forever inspired to write contemporary and new adult romance - with a twist.

…..If That’s possible…ok so the Mother had a feeling her daughter-in-law was messing around with both of her son…the mom had a hunch, but Kameron went ahead an confirmed that she had an affair with her brother-in-law Bakari…..I’m telling you, this story is definitely interesting, otherwise I would’ve stop reading a long time ago….definitely not the type of story I want to consume.
The second book in this series topped the first. And that was no easy feat! But the best thing that happened...we got Bakari's POV! And learned quite a few secrets were being kept amongst these intriguing characters! Talk about a cliffhanger ending! Just wow! I always try to keep spoilers out of my reviews, so I won't speak much more on the bombs dropped in this one. But I will say this, Tiye Love may just be well on her way to one click status! 🙌
Forbidden Secrets had me on edge the whole book I could not put my kindle down until I finished the book. The chemistry and love between Bakari and Kameron were off the charts and they did not care of the consequences , they could not deny their feelings for each other no matter who they hurt. This was a true page turner and I read it in five hours, I will be reading the next book as soon as I finish this review. This is my fifth book by Tiye Love and she has not disappointed at all. I highly recommend this trilogy.
I am so caught up in this whole love triangle. Bakari may have been wrong but I'm in love with his heart and willingness to deal with his consequences. And I love their mother Mrs. C Youngblood she shoots straight from the hip. And I'm really hoping Kam is Pregnant with Bakari's baby so he comes back to her.
I enjoyed reading Forbidden Secrets so much! I couldn't put my kindle down! I am so enjoying the storyline and the chemistry between Kameron and Bakari! Fantastic book!
Aaron was a low down dirty dog, and I guess that runs in the family along with delusion. Keeping a whole child from your wife for ten years and thinking you can fight for her back? And had the nerve to be planning a vow renewal. Why did the parents allow their son to keep a child from his wife for years and not do nothing? As parents there are just some things you don’t let slide.
Constance pissed me off the most in this book. She really sat in Kameron’s face and had the audacity to tell her she’s her "daughter" while knowing Aaron had a son. CLEARLY, she’s not your daughter. The whole conversation with her and Kameron in the hospital was so cringe. I wish my mother would tell my husband that she would still accept him and my sister if they got together, and that he would always be her son right after finding out about their affair. Like what!?!? I was flabbergasted when she said that to Kam. What mother would say that? So f*ck Aaron right? I didn’t understand that. The conversation with Bakari afterward was even worse. It’s clear that he’s her favorite and coddles him because her reaction was more subdued. She was madder at Aaron for calling out his depression than she was at Bakari for sleeping with Kam. Somebody needed to lay into their a$$es real good, but it seemed like their parents were scared of them. If I was Bakari and Aaron’s mother, it would have been a different story. I would have cursed them the f*ck out. Constance was TOO gracious and enabling, and the daddy was just useless. One son hiding a child, the other son sleeping with the other’s wife. They raised some trifling sons.
On another note, Leela’s reaction to Bakari breaking up with her was valid! She might have been a snob, but she did not deserve what Bakari did to her. He was very manipulative towards her. He breaks up with her after cheating on her, comes back and proposes to her when things don’t work out with Kam, and then breaks up with her again the day before she’s supposed to move. Bakari was so obsessed with Kam and Aaron, he doesn’t realize how many hearts he’s destroying. He’s a terrible person who thinks he’s a good person, and that’s my main problem with him. He acts like he’s so much better than Aaron and his family when he’s just as awful. He was a hypocrite because he judged Aaron for cheating and lying when he was doing the same thing! He ran his mouth so much about Aaron he became what he despised the most about him….a selfish, lying cheater. Ain’t that some sh!t.
This would have been 5 stars but the fight between Bakari and Aaron was underwhelming. The build up was great, so I was expecting this explosive fight, but Aaron was not mad enough for me. Bakari deserved a better a$$ whooping. How did Aaron get off all them hits and not one of them knocked Bakari out? How was Kam able to break between two grown men fighting not one but twice? I wished Bakari showed more remorse and shame about what he did. At the end of the day, Aaron was his brother and that type of betrayal should have weighed more on his conscious. Bakari and Kam being in love does not excuse their actions. They still wrong and grimy AF no matter what.
Three books and ten fictional years into this (Youngblood) family’s hot messy secret & a lie and it’s progressively worse. Unfortunately, each moment, every person and all subsequent communications harbors even more anguish, suspicions, resentment, indignation between blood relatives & immediate family! …I’m reading “Forbidden Secrets (Forbidden Trilogy - Book 3) only to complete this series. This book is infuriating! However, under extreme self imposed duress, a potential ulcer and definite therapy I still assert all of this nonsense could have been avoided with the TRUTH ! Nonetheless, Aaron, Bakari & Kameron (dishonorable mention Mr & Mrs Youngblood) all share equal culpability for a jacked-up Thanksgiving & the days/months beyond. The damage is already done! Apologize and accept the consequences of implicit awkwardness at all subsequent family functions for the next eighteen years or so years🥴🤭🤦🏾♀️ DANG, “calgone take me away”‼️‼️
Part 2 really does live up to its name: the secrets were truly forbidden and the drama that ensued had me wanting to know how this installment would end. It surely didn't disappoint in that department as Bakari and Kameron navigated their feelings while trying to spare others'.
While I did enjoy the storyline, this was a bit slow for me at certain parts. It was in those moments that I even took a break from reading the book for days. Example was the flashbacks given from a different pov than that of part 1 which I feel didn't add to plot progression. It just was the rehashing of what happened. Also the first chapters are told by Kameron, while many other chapters, by Bakari. I had to read down a bit to see who was talking as it was in first person. It would have been less confusing if the author had labeled each chapter with their name.
A Love triangle like none other. I had to finish what I started as I needed to know how the secrets would be revealed between Kameron, Bariki and Aaron. They say the heart wants what it wants but the amount of damage that can and will be done at the hands of others can be unwavering. This second installment of Forbidden, had me like damn . The amount of things a family can know and keep held. All in the name of love. I'm judging the hell out of this family and yet deep down I understand. That's the crazy thing about art imitating life. You realize just how close it comes to be.
All hell breaks loose in this book and it was good. From Bakari’s breakup with Leela, to the amazing steamy hot sex with Kam and the fall out brawl. I loved it!! This is definitely a page turner so go find a quiet place to read and get to it. You will not be disappointed!!! The cutest moment IMO was when Kam was in the hospital with Mrs.C and Bakari and he gave his mother a hug and apologized for messing around with her. But he also told his mother that she was his heart. And that was it for me!!! Everybody should experience that all encompassing love at least once in their life time and he was explaining to his mother that she was it for him.
I don’t know how much more of this I can take Kameron has me really disliking her for more reasons on than one Bakari on the other hand may very well have gotten what he deserved but I knew from the way their love for one another began, that things could very well take a big turn to the left. As with the 2nd book In This series my emotions are all over the place.
Tiye Love your writing skills are wicked☺️ it’s 2:30 am and I am about to force myself to read the next book in this series because I need to know if Bakari will every have true peace and love. Heavy stuff but intriguing
This may just be my favorite Tiye Love book. Wow. Everybody was wrong in this book. The parents for keeping pertinent secrets while smiling in Kam's face for a decade, Bakari for pursuing his brother's wife and playing with another woman's feelings, Aaron for lying, cheating and keeping secrets, and Kameron for taking it there with her husband's brother and disrespecting Bakari's "in the meantime" relationship. Everybody had secrets!
Wow, book two didn’t disappoint. It was an emotional roller coaster. This trilogy is well written and got me up late at night reading until my eyes get blurry. I can’t wait for the conclusion in the last book Forbidden Hearts. Tiye Love, you rock sister.
None of my predictions were right!!!! Omg! Aaron need a POV for this book ... blindsided and wide eyed the whole way through! And by the end my mouth was on the floor. I knew Aaron had something up his sleeve but not that! And i have no idea where Kari and Kam are going from here! I don’t know who I want her to be with LOL
My heart is actually palpitating! This book can put reality TV out of business!! It so much and so crazy I just couldn’t put it down. The families are just wrong on so many levels. Therapy couldn’t even put the pieces back together 😩
I literally have a headache from all the drama and have the nerve to look for the next book🥺
How is it possible that book 2 is better than book 1? I refused to stop reading or put the book down until I was finished, and now I've got to move right along go book 3! This trilogy is a MUST READ!
This love triangle is heartbreaking, Kam needs to make up her mind. It is unfair to Kari to keep him in limbo. What they did was wrong in the first place but when you love someone I guess that's how it goes.
This book is so good and messy! It had me on the edge of my seat and my chest tight. The amount of times I audibly gasped was crazy. That damned Bakari is pressure!
Wow Aaron lied and got mad when he thought she was a cheater. Aaron thought it was a good idea to admit to kam for the first time, in front of his family, what she asked him privately about more than once. And kam thought this was a good thing? Ugh
Wait a minute mrs c knows something . Is Aaron on the dL? Damn the whole family knew about Dominick. They claim she’s like a daughter. I wouldn’t fuck with none of them anymore. Screw their offer for her to stay with them, Aaron has a son almost as old as their marriage. The got engaged 6 months after dating so it’s possible someone got pregnant when he was causally dating kam, but he still should’ve told her. He’s been taking trips out of town to see his kid and she had no clue.
“‘If you had been pregnant, which one of my sons would have been the father?” Oh shit.’ My thoughts exactly. Mrs C wasn’t sugarcoating it for Kam. Point. Blank. Period.
Finally kam went off. Too bad it was only to mrs c. Loved mrs C’s response
Now that I see kandy response to Aaron‘s infidelity and child, I’m convinced she was team Aaron for pure reasons. My apologies for attacking her character.
I think it’s shitty that kam has Aaron in confession mode (even though he was dead wrong) but didn’t admit to what she did
Ok. This is interesting, Bakari’s pov. But I’m shocked he was about to tell Kam’s business.
“‘Who says it’s not my baby or that Kam doesn’t want to stay married to me?” “You do the math,” I taunted. “Ten years of fucking and nothing. One weekend of fucking and not only is she in love with me but pregnant too.” Kam stopped pushing against me. “Bakari!” she admonished.’ Damn this shit is on and poppin
That ending had me in my feelings. It was not what I expected. And I’m so damn torn. Wasn’t expecting that either
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
3.5 stars in this installment, secrets are reveled, relationships end, and will never be the same. Aaron knows. Leila knows. mom knows. shit is getting dicey.
