Remember when your bedroom wall was covered with posters of pop stars and your favourite bands?
Tally McKenzie’s bedroom didn’t look like that.
Hers was plastered with pictures of tennis superstar Cash Gallagher. For the last decade, she’s dreamt of meeting him, never imagining for one second that their paths would cross. And it wouldn’t matter if they did. Cash liked his women tall, blonde, and willowy, not average height, dark, and curvy.
On occasion, though, dreams do come true, and when her newspaper editor sends her to cover a fundraising event hosted by the billionaire playboy, she gets her wish—and a lot more besides. One dance, one conversation, one scoop and she’s thrust headlong into a life she never expected.
But Cash is a man with secrets, and the more Tally digs, the greater her concerns grow. How much does she truly know about the man she’s fallen for? And are some mysteries better left unsolved?
Tracie Delaney writes billionaire romance where the men fall hard and the women make them work for it. Even though she has more than 35 novels published across many different series, Tracie still considers herself a reader first and foremost and loves fangirling over her favorite authors.
At night she likes to curl up on the sofa with her two furbabies, Murphy & Cooper, and binge-watch shows on Netflix. There may be wine involved.
Absolutely love Cash and Tally! Cash has so many challenges living a life in the public eye, yet Tally keeps him grounded. Tally is still growing her confidence, but finds strength and always stands up for herself. They are great for each other! Definitely reading Losing Game, Book 2 in the Winning Ace Series, next!
New, exciting romance between a tennis ace and a journalist, great, fun reading! The connection and raw feelings between Cash, the tennis player and sort of a bad boy, and Natalia, or Tally, a writer for a newspaper, start at an event Tally attends to get a story. She has followed the career of Cash from when he started playing, and as they both grow up, and is very excited to talk to him. But knowing his dislike for reporters, she takes her press pass off, and when talking to the hot headed Irishman she denies being a journalist when asked. Oops, wrong choice, so when her story comes out with information Cash never discusses with anyone, he vows to get revenge. Cash finds himself drawn to this woman, who is the exact opposite of his usual girl. The intense feelings between the two make the book pages crackle, as we are drawn into their wonderful romance that is real to life, as nothing is a fairytale . There are conflicts and secrets, and the end let's us know the story will continue! Excellent first novel by this author, does not read like a first as the words tugged me in and emotions kept me turning pages! I am not a big romance reader, but this book makes me ready to happily grab the next!
Book Review For: 'Winning Ace' by Tracie Delaney 'Winning Ace' by Tracie Delaney is the First book in the New Trilogy called "Winning Ace". This is the story of Natalia 'Tally' McKenzie and Cash Gallagher. This does end with a cliffhanger to set you up for the next book and the next installment in Cash and Tally's story. Cash is a famous Tennis Star and a very private person. Cash only talks to the press when he has to for his "job' and is very guarded. Cash is also a hot Irish talking, alpha male with some dark secrets...who doesn't really do commitments. When at a Charity Dinner for his foundation he see Tally...who isn't his usually type at all. But something about her draws him in. Tally is a journalist who is trying to get a breaking story to build her career. When she gets offered the chance to go to the Charity Dinner that Cash is giving she jumps at it. One because she knows since he is so private if she can get a news worthy story she can make a name for herself. The second reason is that she has always had a crush on Cash and has followed his career. Tally is let into the dinner as a press/journalist. But she takes off her press pass because she knows Cash would be guarded around her. Although she knows she wont get to speak to him one on one she thought she would at least over hear something. But to her shock he comes over to her before dinner and also dances with her. While dancing he does as her point blank if she is a journalist and she lies. Cash is finding Tally very attractive and feels a closeness to her that lets his guard down where he slip and says a few things he normally wouldn't to a stranger. Cash realizes that he needs to distant himself from her. But he can't seem to get her out of his mind. Tally feels somewhat guilty about her story but goes through with it the next day. This I believe is Ms. Delaney first book but it was written so well and the story was really good. I not usually a Sport Romance Book person but this one was hard to put down. I can't wait for more from Ms. Delaney! Winning Ace Trilogy:Book 1: Winning AceBook 2: Losing GameBook 3: Grand Slam
My thanks go to the author for the ARC of this book.
My rating: 5 stars
You know those books that stay with you, that you think of long after you've read them because they were that good they refuse to leave you? Well this book is one of them.
This is Tracie Delaney's debut novel and is the first in an overarching trilogy and if this is anything to go by then the rest are going to be awesome.
Okay, so in Winning Ace we see Cash Gallagher, a tennis ace and all round bad boy whose attitude is he's basically king dick. He also hates reporters with a passion and tries to steer clear as much as possible, only letting them in to his career side of things.
Natalia 'Tally' McKenzie is a reporter on the cusp of a career breakout. If only she can get the story. Cue betraying her tennis idol and crush Cash.
Take one pissed off tennis star, throw in a loved up reporter, shake it up with a bit of scandal and you've got yourself a 'Winning Ace' of a story. I loved the concept of this story, I myself love sports romances and tennis is my favourite to play, (not professionally - obvs) watch and now read about.
The heat and chemistry between Cash and Tally is so intense, it gives you the belly flutter and the goose bumps. It's definitely one of those books that if someone walked past you whilst reading it, you'd stealthily close it just because of the heat intensity.
The cameraderie and laughter elements are there too, the relationship between Tally and her best friend is what I'd expect a best friend to be. Someone who's there for you and has a laugh with you and tells you your faults, but in the nicest possible way. The only downside really is that as stated it does have an overarching plot and so the story doesn't get tied up in this book, however, the author has stated that she has set the book to release pretty much simultaneously so hopefully us readers aren't waiting too long for more Cash and Tally.
This book and this author has left me wanting more and I cannot wait for the rest of the series to come to fruition.
I’ve always been a huge tennis fan (I went to my first Wimbledon Mens singles Final in 1982 where I fell madly in love with Jimmy Connors!!) so I was intrigued to see how this contemporary romance would work in the competitive, jet setting world of this popular sport. It’s not a sport often used in a romantic setting, although it did work well in the film Wimbledon with Paul Bettany And Kirsten Dunst which I really enjoyed. So I’m thrilled to say that Winning Ace was just brilliant and that I loved absolutely everything about it! This book really did have it all for me! I’m fact, as soon as I finished it I clicked the pre-order button for Losing Game, the second book in the trilogy that’s out next month! So be warned that Cash and Tally’s story doesn’t conclude here but will continue across the series. And I can’t wait to follow their intense, sexually charged relationship further!
Once I picked Winning Ace up I physically couldn’t put it down. Mainly due to me developing serious “fictional character crush” on Cash Gallagher as soon as he appeared. Tracie Delaney brought him to live so well that I could hear that sexy Irish accent in my head every time he spoke! Now EVERYONE knows that I’m a sucker for an accent and that for me it’s all about the voice (just ask my hubby, he’ll tell you I fell in love with his gorgeous accent first!!). So I melted every time Cash called Tally “sweetness” and though he is also very fond of the F word, I have to admit that I found that a bit of a turn on too!! A foul mouthed, Irish professional tennis player with a fit body and a side order of “bad boy”….. what more could a woman want?!
Tracie Delaney has weaved a hot and steamy romantic tale here with characters that are believable and that you come to care about immediately. Her narrative flows so beautifully, with just a touch of humour to help break up the intensity of such a fiery and passionate love story. The scenes with Tally and her best friend Em especially made me smile as I loved their easygoing friendship and banter.
This is probably best described as a modern day Cinderella story with Tally finally (after years of worshipping Cash from afar) bagging the man of her dreams but will she get her Happy Ever After? We’ve all had posters on our walls of teenage crushes and imagined what life would be like if we met them and they fell madly in love with us, haven’t we??!! And maybe that’s why this works so well as it appeals to that teenage girl who still lurks inside all of us. Although relatively inexperienced, Tally never felt like a naive innocent being taken advantage of by the “love ’em and leave ’em” Cash-it definitely felt like a real life love match and I adored their relationship. But Cash is a man with a few skeletons in his closet-are those secrets about to tear him away from the love of his life? It’s all to play for still and we’re a long way from match point let alone winning the championship. Roll on “Losing Game”, although with a title like that, I am getting a little worried about that Happy Ever After!!
Received an arc copy of this and certainly wasn't disappointed. The book's detailed character development and good pace keeps readers gripped to the storyline. Would recommend this book and author. Will be keeping a watch out for the next one in the series.
A volcanic tennis ace (Cash, a keeper of dark secrets) and an ambitious reporter, (Natalia, with enough verve to her serve to keep a hot hero on his toes). What could go wrong? Plenty, as it happens. But you’ll have to read Winning Ace to find out if trust is elastic.
Written with an intriguing mix of energy and empathy this romance defines a push-pull relationship. Complex characters (skillfully laid out on the page), convincing dialogue (you can ‘hear’ the separate voices and ‘feel’ the tone), prose so smooth it invites you ‘live’ the story…it’s hard to credit Winning Ace for the debut novel it is. That’s talent for you--which Ms. Delaney has in spades.
Winning Ace is Book One of a trilogy that maps Cash and Natalia’s relationship through tribulation and trial. Expect laughter. Expect tears. You’ll certainly want to slap the characters a time or two as they discover each other—and themselves for the three-dimensional, flawed individuals that they are. Delicious.
A hugely enjoyable read. Irresistible. I challenge you to hold back from pre-ordering Book Two, Losing Game (releasing July 2017).
First of all let me confess that I'm a HUGE tennis fan, so the premise of Winning Ace was too tempting to ignore.
Tally McKenzie has been a fan of tennis player, Cash Gallagher, for what seems to be forever. And you never forget your first crush, do you? So when she gets the opportunity to push forward her career and meet Cash in person, Tally has to step out of her comfort zone and do whatever it takes. Cash loathes journalists and doesn't tend to play nice, so he's relieved that the woman he is unable to take his eyes off isn't one. I doubt he'd have given her a second glance if he's have known the truth. Instantly attracted to Tally, who isn't his usual type at all, he finds himself sharing a snippet of his past that he wouldn't usually share with anyone. But surely he can trust her?
When Cash hunts down Tally, their chemistry is off the charts and I'm not sure whisking her away was the punishment he intended, but Cash gets to show Tally exactly how he treats his women! Lets just say, she has lots of opportunities to explore his ball skills.
Cash. Ah, Cash. I have mixed feelings about him. Yes he's incredibly hot! But he's arrogant and surly too. It seems Tally is the perfect foil for him and Cash for Tally too. She needed his confidence to unearth hers. And it seemed to me that Cash needed Tally to help him face his vulnerabilities. I feel like there is a lot yet to explore with Cash. So isn't it brilliant that you get more of him in the next book in the series?
This book didn't read like a debut. The author has written with absolute confidence and skill. I'm really looking forward to getting deeper under the skin of Tally and Cash and reading more from this talented author. More balls please! :-D 5 Butterfly Rating!
This is the first book by new author Tracie Delaney. I was gifted an ARC in exchange for an honest review, so here goes....
So this book follows the story of Natalia (Tally) a junior reporter desperate for a big break, and Cash a superstar, multimillionaire playboy tennis player . I don't want to add any spoilers so I won't say much about the story itself.
What I will say is that you would not believe that this is Tracie's first book. She comes across as a highly experienced author, with a long track record of successful novels. Tracie has a way of drawing you in from the very first page, making you believe in her characters, witty and sharp dialogue that isn't overly corny and she navigates the path of being really descriptive, highlighting details but without it feeling laborious and clunky.
But, and there is a but, I get the feeling that this is Tracie writing in her comfort zone. She knows this genre really well, she's read the books, got the t-shirt and is now tackling it herself. But she needs to believe in herself more. This girl can write. And while I can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy, what I'm looking forward to more is reading Tracie as she develops as a writer, puts herself out there even more and steps out of a genre she's really familiar with. She has future bestseller written all over her - so watch this space!
WINNING ACE by Tracie Delaney is an explosive, compelling, and addictive contemporary romance that has bestseller written all over it.
Cash Gallagher is the golden boy of the tennis world and has enough arrogance and charm to go alongside his expert talent. Tally McKenzie is working hard to carve out her big break in the world of journalism and when she gets the opportunity she cannot let it slip by her - even if it means compromising what she feels is right and wrong when it comes to her sports idol. But Cash is not a man who is used to being crossed and when he determines to take on Tally head on, he has no idea what he has let himself in for. For Tally is nothing like the seething bottom feeders of the press that he has imagined her to be, and when they are around each other their chemistry is undeniable. But Cash has secrets that are too dangerous to let slip... Can he really trust the woman he is starting to depend on? And can Tally really give her all to someone who is always holding something back?
As an avid reader of romance novels, I expect a lot from a book to really keep me gripped, give a new edge to the genre, and sweep me along effortlessly. But WINNING ACE by Tracie Delaney does that and so much more. The characters are so realistic and well-developed that even when I was irritated by something they did, I never stopped caring about them. I felt their fears, their happiness, their hopes, and their desire (have a fan ready to help ease the flames!) and for me, that is what an excellent romance is all about - the reader becoming a part of the story. The drama, secrecy, and lies are unexpected and definitely give a fresh edge to the tale, and I really enjoyed the sports element - sneaking a peek behind the glamorous world of tennis to the hard work, dedication, and politics behind the facade.
WINNING ACE by Tracie Delaney is the first book in this compelling new series so the story does not neatly end all packaged up, but with the second book releasing in July, you won't have to wait too long for your Winning Ace fix - and trust me you are desperately going to want it!
An absolutely outstanding debut, Tracie Delaney is a writer to watch out for as her stories completely enfold you between the pages and transport you to a different place. So what are you waiting for? Time to get clicking!!
Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. I truly enjoyed book, I love books about sports and roman. We meet Cash Gallagher a sexy superstar, and Tally a journalist looking to get her story on him, no matter what it takes. This is a rollercoaster, many twist and turns, but it keeps you interested.. And I can't wait for next book. l I'm always looking for new authors and was excited to read Winning Ace by Tracie Delaney, because I love sports and a good edgy romance. There was a reason I could not give it a 4.
You'd never know that this is the first book by debutant author Tracie Delaney. She has a wonderful way with words and Winning Ace drew me in from the start and hooked me completely.
“Well, there you go. Leave him to simmer in his own pompous stew for a few days. See if that doesn’t tenderise the meat a little.”
Natalia (Tally) is a budding reporter, trying to get her first big break at a charity event Cash (her childhood idol) is hosting. Cash is a superstar in the world of tennis. He loves women but doesn't do dates, doesn't do commitment and he certainly doesn't bring a woman to one of his matches. Oh and he hates reporters with a passion! When Cash inadvertently lets slip a tidbit of personal information to Tally only to see end up in the papers, he is justifiably angry, but when he tracks Tally down to confront her, the sparks fly.
I loved how the relationship grows between Cash and Tally, there is an insta attraction but not insta love. They both have their issues and trust doesn't come easily to either, but there was so much chemistry and heat as well as humour, insecurities and secrets. This book flowed, the secondary characters were captivating too and I'm totally invested in what happens between all of them. It's pretty obvious the author knows her tennis too. Yes there is a cliff hanger, but this is a trilogy and the path to true love is never smooth. So if that means we get two more books with Cash and Tally, bring it on!!
Many thanks to the author for an arc of Winning Ace, brilliant job, five stars all the way. Really looking forward to book two.
Loved it, loved it, loved it! But I'm sulking right now because I have to wait for my paperback order for book 2 to come in the mail. I loved Cash and Tally. This book was the perfect mix of "he loves me, he loves me not, hot love scenes, and dominating possessive & brooding yet kind hot male. This book sated my thirst for a great romance filled with food, drink, travel and adventure. I also loved how Tally was encouraged to start thinking positive about herself and embracing her own type of beauty. Ive never been a Tennis fan but I think that's about to change. Great book and I'm totally impressed with the author Tracie Delaney!
Winning Ace; The Winning Ace Trilogy Book One Erotic Romance Tally, a reporter meets her tennis pro idol, Cash. Sparks fly. I loved the character of Tally; her fire and determination were enchanting. Cash’s dominance and skills beyond the tennis court made the book a real page turner. My only wish was that I could have immediately progressed to reading Book Two! I just can’t wait for the story to develop even more - hurry up Tracie. This romantic story will please any reader who enjoys the full gamut of literary emotions from suspense, humour, tension and through to emotional trauma. If you loved ‘Pretty Woman’ and ‘Maid in Manhattan’ then you will love the chance to re-live your young fantasies. I rate the book an incredible 5 out of 5 stars.
I recieved this ARC from Tracie Delaney for a honest review.
This is the first book for this new Author in her Winning Ace Trilogy.I must admit i was nervous before i picked this up, because she was writting her first ever book i really wanted to get stuck in and hoped i was in for a great ride along with her.
Well *WOW* you sure shocked me (in a good way) as right from the first chapter this book had me hooked and it kept my attention thought out this story that unfolded between Cash and Natalia (Tally).
I do like a good romance with some hot, nail-biting sex scenes ,which this had in abundance, also with lots of twist to the story which also had heaps of, i was definitly not dissappoint at all the more i got through this book.
The story was a romance between Cash and Natelia who were worlds apart but with determination Cash shows how he was never about to give up hope on Natalia at any cost .I loved the way Cash wooed Natalia and never gave up even when things got rough.I had no idea how this book was going to end which i love when reading a book as it keeps you guessing right till the last page.
Well i am truely hooked on this Triogy and cant wait for the next book in this series to find out what happens between these two and the secretes that Cash has burried but must now come to light.
The writing is slick, the action is fast and the chemistry between Tally and Cash is smoking hot.
This is the first book in a three book series and the cliffhanger at the end was whopper (I may or may not have cursed the author for leaving me hanging like that).
I cant wait to get my hands on the next book to see what happens.
What can I say about this book? Except WOW! Whilst I was reading it I was thinking this surely can't be the author's debut novel, but it blooming well is.
Tracie has crafted a stunning contemporary romance (not a sweet, heart and flowers romance, so be warned.) Right from the very first page I was plunged into the novel that centres around Tally and Cash's relationship. It's definitely a feisty, almost confrontational one at times. Raw emotions are expressed through Tracie's incredible narration. I don't think I've ever read a book as quickly as I read this one.
Every character was beautifully, and skilfully portrayed. And the dialogue, which is often the hardest part for authors just starting out to get right, was flawless.
Yes, the book ends on a cliffhanger and I might have sworn a little when I realised I'd reached the end, but the second book in this trilogy will be out in a few months and I just can't wait.
Don't take my word for it. Be sure to grab your copy today, you'll be thanking me for the recommendation I guarantee it.
Winning Ace (The Winning Ace Trilogy Book One) by Tracie Delaney • Secrets Once I started reading this book I couldn't stop! What an amazing start for a series, and an absolutely awesome debut novel for Tracie. I cannot wait to read LOSING GAME to find out what happens next. Secrets don't stay secret forever, but when they're hidden they hurt too many people. To find out what happens between Cash and Tally you'll have to read WINNING ACE. This doesn't end with a HEA (yet) nor is it a cliffhanger, but it DEFINITELY leaves you ready to read LOSING GAME..... Which I'm of to do right now!!! Winning Ace is the first novel in an overarching three book series and as such does not have an HEA. • Winning Ace (Game - Catching Cash) • Losing Game (Set - Holding Cash) • Grand Slam (Match - Keeping Cash) Releasing October 2017 I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via IndieSagePR for an honest blog tour review. This book uses British spellings/British idioms and contains language and sexual situations not recommended to be read by those under 18.
I thoroughly enjoyed this hot and sexy book. I loved the tension between the two main characters Cash and Natalia and the dialogue between them was fast paced and witty. It was nice to read something set in the tennis world for a change I haven’t seen many and as a huge tennis fan this was a bonus. The story moves at a good pace and the chemistry between them is electric. You couldn’t ask for more. This is the first in a series and I can’t wait for the next one to find out what happens between them.
I had to DNF this shit. Like who in their right mind wants to read about a man sucking on your toes?😭 And the main character was wearing a toe ring?????
I wish I could get the time I spent on this book back, but I will never get that. Never will I ever read another book my this author. Thankfully I got this book for free on kindle because I would be depressed for using my money on this, so that is the ONLY positive thing about this book. Now I also know why it was free. #neveragain
Winning Ace is a fantastic read, and Cash Gallagher is HOT! Holy cow, I loved this book. Tracie sucked me in from the first page and held my attention until the last. It didn't matter that my clock read 2am, I kept reading, and I'm glad I did. This is a fast paced, sexy read, that will tug at your heart strings. You really feel for the characters, which is a true indication of Tracie's talent as an author. Also, the style is unique in a good way, and I loved the British editing. From an American reader standpoint, it helped me feel more in the world with the characters because they are speaking with proper accents/words.
I will say... There is a cliffhanger, BUT, I don't think the relationship would be realistic without it. We need two or three books for this romance to feel right, and relationships as deep as Cash and Tally's don't happen over night. I've never been a fan of insta-love, especially in contemporary romance or sports romance, so I fully approve of the cliffhanger in this instance. And I cannot wait for the next book!!
Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC copy; I loved it!
I loved this book from start to finish. A young journalist gets sent on a mission to interview tennis's number one player..Cash Gallagher!! Since she was a young girl, Tally had had a crush on him. A chance meeting has Cash wondering who the stranger was; during a dance he starts talking unaware that Tally is a journalist: his most hated profession. Cash is a playboy....Tally is a normal, if not chubby journalist..not his usual type at all. Seriously I can't wait to read the next book, as this was a big page turner for me!!
Well, new authors are a bit like frogs. You've got to kiss (read) quite a lot ( a real lot) to find a good one.
This is I believe Tracie Delaney's first book. Well it won't be her last. What a find!
I loved the characters. Tally is so relatable and normal. How damn refreshing is that? There's no made up superfluous drama. It all felt so real, I just loved her. I rooted for her from the first page.
And then there's Cash. Wow! Loved him. He's such a complex and intriguing guy. Lucky Tally.
Perhaps Rupe is going to get his own book? Hint hint
I received an ARC in return for an honest review, this is my honest personal opinion.
I recieved this book from the Author for an honest review.
winning Ace was the First book i read from Tracie Delaney. Now i must say i enjoyed the book very much. The author has a unique writing style that any reader would fall in love with. Bad Boy Cash is a big time tennis player who wants to remain on top of his game. But when he meets the beautiful talented Tally he realizes that may not be.
Tally Mckenzie a journalist who wants a good story to help her career. But what she soon realizes is her feelings start to grow for this bad boy.
*Copy received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.*
She wasn't his type, and yet he wanted her regardless.
Cash Gallagher is rich, famous, and one of the hottest bachelors in the world. He slept around with women, treats them right and knew what they want until he has his fill and moves on to the next skinny blonde. Natalia "Tally" McKenzie walks into the picture with her brunette locks, curvy body, large rack and would always find a way to surprise cash in any turn. To his surprise Cash couldn't get enough of her. Tally on the other hand thought it possible for her to be in any form of intimacy with her long time celebrity crush. Knowing it wouldn't last because of Cash's reputation Tally still gave him her all. When things get serious Tally can't seem to shake the fact that Cash has a lot of dark secrets that he isn't planning to share soon.
But love? Was he even capable of feeling that deeply for someone?
Utterly fun and sweet. My celebrity crush asks me out, what do I say? HELL YES!
Their first date was where?! Cash just set the bar extremely high. It's such an adventure to roam the world with these two though they'd spend of the time in their room. ;) Tally's worries are very much understandable. Cash had it all, he could even have any woman he wants but why would he pick Tally who's entirely not his type? Plus the secrets. How can you trust someone when they just won't tell you what you want to know. Cash's secrets are such a mystery, his close friends don't even know about his secrets.
Her laugh made him laugh. her smile brightened the darkest of days. Her selflessness humbled him. She was the half that made him whole.
The fact that they can't seem to just tell each other how they feel. And the fact that they can read each other well in the short time they've known each other. They can feel it deep in their bones that they're meant for each other but just can't seem to say the three words eight letters bit.
"None of us start out with an idea of how long things will last. All we can do is live in the moment."
I never knew what goes behind the scenes of people who live for sports especially during tournaments and matches that happen in different parts of the world. They're barely home. I love these kinds of books where it gives me a glimpse of the life of other people with a specific and not entirely common lifestyle.
"Life's short. None of us know what's coming our way. That's why I live for today. Screw tomorrow."
I gave this book 3 stars because it was quite long, but I understand that to set the backdrop of everything and to understand everything that's happening, the backstories and characteristics of many people. What I don't like is Tally's over jealous sometimes, it seem unnecessary and redundant. But overall I truly enjoyed the story.
I am so ready to begin Losing Game when I publish this review.
Arghhhh!!! Winning Ace is one of those romances that leaves you cursing out loud when it ends. You know the kind - the one where you are so consumed with the couple and their lives that when you hit the last page of their story that you immediately go to Amazon to one-click the next book because you can't let go just yet. Yep. That was me and Winning Ace.
The desire to further her career puts Tally directly in the path of Cash, a professional tennis player and her teenage crush. Immediately sparks fly and there's a intense chemistry between the two of them. Their initial meeting leads to a whirlwind romance and adventure. It's exciting and captivating.
Honestly, there is a lot to like about this couple and you will be psyched you grabbed this book. I found myself feeling addicted to their banter and wit. My lady bits squealed over their sexual chemistry and the author's ability to create a bedroom scene that will have your pulse racing. It's all awesome.
But more than anything, I loved how Cash is completely bewitched by Tally and chases after her relentlessly. It's what every girl dreams about and it will make you swoon. And while Tally desperately wants to be caught - these two have lots to get past to find their happily ever after together. However, their struggles endeared them to me and left me cheering them on.
Overall, I thought Winning Ace was an excellent debut novel and I wicked excited to get my hands on the other two books in this series. I cannot wait to see where the author takes Cash and Tally next! I would definitely recommend checking this book out!
Cash and Tally brought a certain flavor back to the interesting world of tennis and the scrutiny of the public eye. Cash is our resident bad boy of center court. While Tally, she is the journalist looking to make that big story to propel her career forward. Cash lives his life more or less inside a fish bowl that seems to always need filling. Tally helps to ground in a way that makes him feel completed or at least more real.
I found excitement, warmth, passion, romance with both Tally and Cash. They find something in the other that sparks their world to something more than just the existence presented. One deception could set what they had begun to create on a different course. Cash vows to get some revenge but finds that doing so will not be so easy. He finds that he is drawn to the spunky little reporter.
The lies, deceit, secrets, intensity, turns, fate, life all happens around them and pushes them together. While at the same time works very hard to tear them apart. I fell the emotions run through both Cash and Tally. This read was more. It was rich with emotions, deceptions, chemistry, Tally & Cash. Coming start the ride and see where it takes you.
Well, I have to say that this book sucked me in right from the start. I was just dying to see how the relationship between Cash and Tally developed as it was clear she was going to give him a run for his money! The chemistry between them simply draws you in and doesn’t let you go. The characters were well written, believable, and I found myself wanting to give Cash a good slap at times for behaving like such a dick! That’s how convincing Tracie’s writing is!
This is a fantastic debut, and the cliffhanger at the end of Winning Ace left me wanting to read the next book immediately! I genuinely can’t wait to read the next two books in this trilogy.
I've read my fair share of romance novels and I had no idea what to expect when I picked up this book as it is a brand new author. Needless to say I was not disappointed. This book is written beautifully and the characters have a chemistry that sizzles from very early on. There's even a character you'll love to hate and I am eagerly awaiting karma to get a shift on!! This book is fast paced and I finished it entirely too quickly. It's amazing that this is the author's debut novel and she's obviously found her vocation, she's a natural. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series and cannot wait to find out how it all works out for Cash and Tally.
