My name is Quinn Young. A bad man stole me. And I’m not sure I want to escape.
One night. That’s all I allow myself. One night to break free from my parents and responsibilities. A few hours to cut loose with my friends, have a few drinks, and meet a boy.
But Gunner Hale has had his sights set on me for some time. What I thought was an accidental meeting was actually meticulously planned down to the last detail. Next thing I know, I’m drugged, chained, and completely at his mercy.
With one breath, he promises protection and pleasure.
With the next, he threatens and intimidates me.
Each day that passes sees more of my sanity slip away. He claimed my body that first night, but it isn’t enough for him. He wants the rest of me too—my mind, my heart, and my soul.
As the nights bring us closer together, daylight reveals secrets that drive us apart. And Gunner is hiding something so explosive, so Earth shattering, that whether or not I give in may not matter at all.
Riley Ashby lives in the American Midwest. She eats entirely too much tofu and owns just the right number of cats. She enjoys reading and writing anything romantic, be it dark and suspenseful or light and fluffy - always with a Happily Ever After.
Woah i loved it! i loved Gunner so freaking much! The plot surprised me :3 Sometimes i didn't like Queen's behavior BUT it's nothing to bad I love how all was genuine between them, even before he kidnapped her i love the fact that they were both into each others you know? they would've pick each others anyway because they were both attracted from the first sight. And everything Gunner did melted me. I adored him period. Wish the epilogue was longer!!!!!! i wanna know more about their future! hope we find more about them in the other books . I wish they kept the dogs tho :( also that library...but ,well we can't have them all.
I'm really curious about Ester and Jonah's story..also i'm not sure if i'm interested in Colby.. hm. The introduction of the new book i think will be Colby's book, hopefully he will leave this couple alone.
Whoa. I’ve read Riley’s work before and loved it but this book is on a whole other level. It’s darker than King which I absolutely loved. And Quinn is the heroine I dream of writing myself one day. I’m also a total sucker for the kidnapping plot so this just really kept me on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE book.
If you like dark romance, please give this book a try. Riley’s writing is beautiful and her plot development is 5/5. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Absolutely ecstatic that I was given an ARC and I can’t wait to get it in paperback.
This book will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happens next!
Entropy is perfect for fans of dark romance and/or the kidnapping trope. The heroine, Quinn, is absolutely full of surprises that defy reader expectations. And Gunner, her dark and mysterious captor will win you over within a matter of chapters.
This was my first Riley Ashby novel and I am so impressed with the fantastic writing and character development I found in Entropy, I will definitely be reading more of her work!
(I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review)
This was my first book by Riley Ashby and I have a feeling it won't be my last.
Entropy is a dark, captive romance that was both suspenseful and intriguing. I liked the characters and the writing style. Both combined to create an intense movie in my own head while I was reading.
Although it didn't wow me to the core, Entropy was a highly enjoyable read. I liked it.
Do you like things that mess with your mind? Escape into the darkness in this beautiful story. I prefer my stories to be dark. This was one of the best I've read in a long time. I didn't know what I expected but it wasn't this, this was better. I was so happy to read it.
Quinn Young has always been the good girl, since her sister's abduction when she was a little girl. On her twenty-first birthday she takes a night to cut loose with her friends and live life, not realizing someone is stalking her.
Gunner Hale is part of the Blood Diamond Disciples. He's worked hard to move up and build trust. When they get a job to kidnap and ransom Quinn, he wants her, he will keep her safe from everyone but himself.
Quinn met Gunner at a club and their attraction was sizzling and for the first time in her life she was going go for it. Thoughts of a hot steamy, night turn ugly when he kidnaps her and chains her in his basement. This isn't a typical kidnapping and Gunner has to answer to his wicked boss and evil minion, while trying to keep Quinn safe.
Quinn is a resilient young woman, fighting through her fear, trying to fight back and looking for escape, while trying to understand why she keeps trusting in Gunner. Even as they navigate from captor to lovers, everyone's lives are in danger and secrets have yet to be revealed which affect both of them.
Ashby has a talent of creating multi-layered characters that change the farther along you read as new perspectives are revealed.
Steamy, violent and twisty, with interesting characters.
I received a free copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. If you like my reviews I hope you will follow my blog. https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/

What I liked - I would have to say it was darker then 'King' which was one of my problems with 'king' so I am happy about that. - The plot was probably my favorite thing about this. It was really engaging and action packed. the plot twists were good and truly twists. - Gunner was awesome and so so fun. I just want to marry him tbh - I thought the action scenes were well described. what I didn't like -The main girl (Quinn) was a little boring. She felt very 2000s YA fantasy. I wanted more from her. - the sex scenes is probably my biggest complaint. They were lack luster. I wanted more and more detailed ones. I wanted truly dark sex scenes and I felt it was lacking. -angst I want a slower burn. I wanted more push and pull.
Darkness level. I am starting a new dark scale I will be putting on dark romances. they Include
-barely dark (🖤) -this is dark but I have read darker (🖤🖤) -perfect amount of dark (🖤🖤🖤) -ok this is getting bad (🖤🖤🖤🖤) - This is way to0 fucked up omg (🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤)
This book was a much needed fresh take on the kidnapping trope! I loved Quinn, the heroine of this story, and I wish more authors treated their female leads the same way. She is strong, unlike the usual damsels in distress. The story is a little textbook at the start, but quickly takes you in new directions. As someone who loves (and regularly consumes) dark romance, I highly recommend this book. It's the breath of fresh air you didn't know you needed in this genre!
I felt like this book was a mess. The author telegraphs early on information that takes away a lot of the tension and suspense. The motivation is weird or non existent in any way that I could makes sense of. Gunner is like Jekyl and Hyde and I couldn't get a read on him. There are tons of unanswered questions and loose ends that I didn't get.
It's clearly leading into a series but I'm not interested.
I haven’t read anything by Riley Ashby before so this was my first.
I enjoyed the characters and storyline. I do wish there was more plot development and a little more darkness. I felt like it could go there, but the author didn’t push it. The steam level at the end was more than the entire book. I do look forward to reading the next book when it comes out.
This is my first book by Riley Ashby and I'm hooked. I lived both main characters almost from the beginning but I especially loved that Quinn kept surprising me throughout the book - I never fully knew what to expect from her and I lived it. The twists and turns in the story were surprising, but made sense for the story and kept me hooked all the way through. I can't wait to read more from this series.
(I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, but the thoughts are all mine)
Quinn is always in control. She never lets loose, parties, or does anything irresponsible. She's safe. Until Gunner. What seemed like a harmless triste quickly turns sinister when Quinn realizes she's being abducted. The only problem? She's not sure she wants to escape.
This book really surprised me. It's a little Stockholm syndrome-esque but in a way I didn't mind. Because Ashby was brilliant in writing Quinn! Ashby gave us a female character that I loved! She's tough, intelligent, slightly damaged, and not love struck. She's resourceful, clever, but also sexual. It was a combination I wasn't prepared for and saved me from another damsel in distress situation, thank goodness! The plot was a little twisty and new surprises were around every corner, but Ashby resolved it all quite nicely and I wasn't left hanging. This is book one of a series and I look forward to what's coming next.
