Via Mari did it again! While this story may trigger some people, it was very carefully and well written. Jenny owns Torzial and meets Brian and thinks he is only the COO for Prestian Corp. Boy is she wrong! The trouble keeps coming after everyone but this couple manages to stay together for a really cute and funny ending.
I would say read the 1st series and then jump into this so you have all the players. Really great books with lots of ups and downs. Lots of romance and love. It will show you what people are willing to do to protect the ones they love. I wont put any spoilers in here cause that ain't right! lol Just trust me....read it!

this book is amazing, I loved every minute of it and I couldn't put this book.
I was so engrossed, that it was hard to put down, I wanted to read more already so hurry up and read more. I love Brian and Jenny story, they are amazing characters.

It's the story within a story. Jenny and Brian's details unfold as the drama, suspense and intrigue of the Prestian series unfold around them. I loved this story and am anxious for more about Jenny and Brian!

Shattered is the first book in the Torzial Affair series. It ends in a cliffhanger.
While this is the first book in this particular series, not having read the previous series (Prestian series), I felt like something was missing. The author does a good job of working in elements from events I assume are present in the previous series, so it isn’t like you can’t pick up what is going on; I just feel like it would have a more complete feel if I had more of a connection to the supporting characters. For anyone new to this author, I definitely suggest reading the other series first.
Shattered contains sensitive material that may trigger some readers. The author does have a preface in the book regarding this, which is very thoughtful. I liked that the author did not downplay the affects of Jenny’s hardship experience on her mental health.
This book was a quick read for me and overall was a good escape from reality for a bit.

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1) by Via Mari is a must read book! I thought her first series was off the charts, this one is just as awesome if not better! I love this author's writing abilities as she can just pull me into her story with easy and keep me engaged through the entire story. Her characters are both loveable and true to life. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of various emotions, not to say hot, steamy sex is just as awesome. They will take you on a few twists and turns that you won't see coming but will keep you on your toes. This is the first book in this series and we get to see Jenny's story. Jenny is a professional who owns her own consulting company. She carries around some emotional scars from a previous relationship that has left her insecure. Brain is the heir to the Carrington Steele empire. He feels that women only want one thing from him which has left him guarding his heart, wealth and status. What will happen when their two worlds collide? One dominant and one submissive can they find one common ground? What will happen when her past collides with her present? I loved both of these characters. They are strong and both have a feisty side to them. They have such great chemistry together. There is no doubt what happens behind closed doors will leave you needing ice water to cool off. Brian is a take control type person who when he says something that you do it. Her attraction to him, she tries to deny but she is having a hard time saying no. I loved that we got to see characters from the previous series by this author. It is fun when the author does that so we can see what they are up to. I highly recommend this book. Fin

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1) by Via Mari is a spinoff from the Prestian series which I enjoyed but this first book in the series is amazing. I suggest you start with the Prestian series before starting this series as the amazing characters and stories are intertwined. Via has excelled herself in this book. It was not what I expected, no, it was so much more. I loved every single minute of it and I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. I was captivated, enthralled and so engrossed that by the time I had finished, I needed more. This story is an emotional rollercoaster ride of feelings that don’t let up. There were tears and tantrums, and laughter and that was just me.
Jenny’s life has been turned upside down. She has been left battered and shattered to her very soul. To the core of her being, her essence. Never in her life would she have thought that someone she loved would put her through the hell that she went through. It has left her wondering just who she is now and if she will ever be the same again.
Brian is a hot, sexy, Alpha male and a one and done man. He never lets anyone close. He never knows who wants him for him or for what he has. But he wants her. Just one night. This isn’t a genre that I would usually take interest in but after hearing good things of the author, I decided to dive in and oh goodness, am I glad I did. I was very pleasantly surprised by how well the story flowed, the character backgrounds were flawless and I read Shattered, book one in one night. I always enjoy diving into a book and feeling the emotions that the characters are feeling and though there are some really serious issues the main female character faces and deals with on a daily basis, I believe the author had amazing insight on how to write that into how her character was portrayed, how she acted and reacted in certain circumstances and how her emotions affected her daily life. I was very appreciative that the author included some background in the preface. It helped prepare me for what I was about to read. However, with everything that is in the book, I could not find one fault in the story line. Everything flowed very nicely and I cannot wait to jump into book 2, Bound.

Wow another amazing read from Via Mari! I zoomed through this and want book 2 now! I really like Jenny in The Prestian series and I'm glad that she got her own spin-off series. I love her strong attitude. She's finding out more about herself and slowly regaining her self after the horrible attack on her.
And Brian, he's that sexy, alpha, dominating male that frustrates you to no end but you can't help but love him.
This was a great story. Extremely hot! And I love that it had a healing and finding yourself aspect to it. I am super excited for book 2!

Unbelievable!!!!!!!
I read the other series by this author. Loved it, but this one she took another level up. It hooked me right off. And I read it in one night. This author knows how to write books. Her writing style is just amazing. It flows so smoothly you don't even realize when you turn the page. The journey Jenny and Brian take is awesome. And gosh the sex scenes wow hot they made me blush lol. I absolutely loved this book. I would recommend it want one 18+.

I thought the first series was incredible, this can't get better, but it does! I mean, reading about Chase and Katarina was intriguing and emotional. Shattered is about Jenny and Brian's lives. The things that Jenny has been through, makes her a very courageous lady. Brian is supportive, caring and a hot dominating man. I just know this is the beginning of an upward journey they are on. I can't wait to read more from Via Mari.

Via Mari does a wonderful job with this book. It was not what I expected, it was more. This is Jenny's story, a spinoff from The Prestian series. Jenny finds her way while dealing with a life altering experience. Brian's protectiveness and dominance were both heartwarming and sexy. Plenty of steam, love, emotional triggers for some, but overall a definite 5 star read. Advised to read Prestian series first for better perspective. Can't wait to see what's next.

so im rereading this series and it has losted my love for it. it feels rushed and all over the place, i feel bad for redoing my review but it was bugging me because im honest in my reviews but this was a hard choice. it feels like it was rushed not complete or that some parts dont make all that sense. i dont think i will finish this book again but we will see as im only at 25% so ill add more when i get more along in the book

I'm so happy Jenny had a chance to have her own story be told. I loved how she fought through her issues with being raped and didn't give up or give in. She was so strong and I am completely in love with Brian and how he was able to handle her issues and love her so well. I am looking forward to reading the continuation of their story. I know there is much more of them to come.

Shattered is the first book in the Torzial series by Via Mari. It is a romantic suspense that’s full of action, danger, secrets, hidden agendas, humour, mystery, sexual exploration & awakening, some light bondage, a little spanking, plenty of sizzle, the mafia, and so much more. I have loved reading this book, as I really enjoyed the Prestian series, I knew I had to read this one too. But Ms. Mari certainly upped her game with this book/series- blowing past the Prestian books easily. I had been wondering how Via Mari would navigate this storyline/series after everything that happened in the Prestian novels- I admit that I had fairly high expectations, and after reading this I am delighted to say that she surpassed all my expectations, and then some! All the minor issues I had with the Prestian series, seem to have been well and truly resolved in this book/series. I feel Via Mari has hit her stride now, totally comfortable and at ease with her craft- and it really shows in this well written and polished book!
The story/series is separate to the Prestian series, but has recurring characters, situations, and some timeline cross-overs- and as such, I would really recommend reading the Prestian series before embarking on this one- as all the information contained in those books will enhance your reading experience of this book/series.
This is primarily a suspense- with a great erotic romance woven through it. I love how Via Mari is able to build such intense tension, chemistry, and intrigue- but manages to balance it all with emotion and humour.
I loved meeting Jenny and Brian in the Prestian series, but in this book/series, I really ‘got to know them’ so much better! They really are fantastic characters, so beautifully created, with complex personalities that really brought them to life. I was completely immersed in their story- strung out on all the detail, reading anxiously to discover what happens. The story does continue into the next book, but I didn’t miss a beat, diving in and reading the entire series back to back!

Shattered ( The Torzial Affair) by Via Mari. Via Mari has become one of my very favorite authors! I've got to the point if I see her name on a book I don't even read the description because I know I will love it. This is the story of Jenny Torzial a beautiful, successful, owner of a very dominant Consulting Company. She look so put together and classy on the outside you would hardly know that on the inside she is an emotional mess all due to the man who was to be her husband. He destroyed every once of trust,love and security she had. Enter Brian Carrington a cocky heir to the Carrington Steel Empire. He thinks all woman want from him are his money so he is not into relationships at all just one night stands until he meets Jenny at their best friends wedding. There is immediate sexual chemistry but Jenny doesn't know if she can every get past the scars of her past to move forward and trust anyone. Will they become more than just business partners and turn into a super power couple or will their past hurts keep them from knowing love. Read Shattered to find out.

Many reviews for this book said that the Prestian Series should be read first. I don’t always believe other people. This time I was right. This story can be read without the other series. However, will I go read it? Yes. Yes I will, but only because I like the way this author writes.
Shattered is about Brian and Jenny. I love the commonness of these names. I have read many books where the names are so far-fetched I often wondered if the author just threw letters together. Brian and Jenny meet at a wedding, this is where that other series comes into play. The bride and groom are the main characters from that series. But, again, you really don’t have to know their story. So, Brian and Jenny have an instant attraction and they actually start to act upon it but Jenny has a flash back and ends up running. We later discover why she ran and what was going through her mind. In fact, most of the story is about her healing and learning to trust Brian. Brian wants nothing more to show her new ways to trust him. Of course, it’s not going to be easy. What good relationship is all rainbows and glitter! Especially when the two in the relationship aren’t ready for one.
This book has situations that may cause triggers in some readers. However, it is a good story and while the ending isn’t the greatest, it does make me want to hurry up and one click the next book!

Shattered by Via Mari is the first book in the Torial Affair series which also a spin off of the Prestian Series. I highly recommend you read that series first though this can be read as a stand alone.
There is some overlap from the end of the first series time wise but it's a very different story since we are following Jenny and Brian which I really enjoyed. I liked the different prospective and finding out more details on the trauma Jenny endured and how Brian was involved with protecting her and more.
Jenny moved up my list of amazingly strong female characters quite a bit as I was reading all she has done and experienced at a very young age. After feeling like I knew her as Katerina's best friend I got to know her as an individual and I'm so glad I did.
We start to see Brian's carefully placed walls start to crumble the more he learns about Jenny. We also find out what makes him tick, his pain and happiness from childhood and how dominant he really is.

Shattered is book one of the Torzial Affair series. The main characters are Jenny and Brian. Jenny suffered a very traumatic experience when she was brutally raped by her ex. Brian is extremely attracted to her. Jenny struggles to cope with the event and Brian changes things. I loved following the intensity and steamy romance the storyline featured. It was an easy read. I was confused for a bit regarding the Alfreita but it made sense as I continued to read. I loved how protective Brian was of Jenny and Chase was of Kate. I felt that was another way these men were able to express how much they cared. I can't wait to read more in this series!

Shattered is book one in the Torzial Affair by Via Mari. It feels like a lifetime since I have read a story by this author. It was well and truly worth the wait. It is like coming home to your favourite pair of slippers, warm, inviting, providing a comfort like no other. The story is not all warm and lighthearted. It is intense, dangerous, passionate and exciting.
Jenny has not had an easy run in life, lately. Meeting Brian was the right thing, just at the wrong time. She bares emotional scars that prevent her from truly letting go, which causes a hold to be put on her life and the happiness that goes with meeting your soulmate. Brian is being patient with her, which goes against everything that makes him the stubborn, dominant and beautiful male specimen that he is. They clash, and those battles are quite the spectacle. Brilliant minds going head to head is explosive. They certainly deliver non stop entertainment, passion and attitude. Entertainment overflowing with drama, danger and decadence. Shattered was an edge of your seat story, that excited and delighted. All brilliantly set out by a gifted and dedicated author. 5 stars.

Shattered was an edge of your seat story, that excited and delighted. All brilliantly set out by a gifted and dedicated author. 5 stars.

Im so glad we get Jenny's story, and while it contains some triggers for some, it was done in a way that was needed to show the story of Jenny as a whole.
I really enjoy this authors style and between this series and the Prestian Series I am now hooked!
I couldn't put this down and I cant wait to read more!

Shattered is the first book in the Torzial Affair series by author Via Mari. The Torzial series is a spin-off of the Prestian series by Ms. Mari and while it can be read as a standalone, I have to admit that I felt like I was tossed into the middle of a scene since I did not read the first series. This book follows Jenny Torzial, the owner of a successful consulting firm as she navigates her life following a devastating personal experience. Jenny meets Brian at her best friend’s wedding and feels a deep attraction to the mysterious stranger. Circumstances beyond their control continue to throw the two together and sinister characters want nothing more than to hurt Jenny but Jenny’s new love interest wants nothing more than to protect her.
There is so much that goes on in this story that at times it got confusing (I need to read the Prestial series) but as I continued reading, I got a better understanding of what had happened to the characters in the previous series. I liked Jenny and Brian together and I especially liked the way the author didn’t write Jenny’s character as being weak or whiny. Jenny was dealing with a lot yet still managed to have a backbone, these are my favorite type of characters and I will be reading the next book just to see how Jenny grows.

What a fantastic novel i thoroughly enjoyed every second. The story is full of ups and downs it's definitely not a easy ride but it's also full of love, it most certainly played with my emotions that's for sure. I must admit i got so engrossed i read it all in one sitting i just couldn't put it down! I really can't wait to read more and get stuck in absolutely amazing story.
