Wolves Next Door: The Complete Series

Rate this book
Book 1 - Wolf's things that go bump in the night are supposed to be headboards, not monsters. Leaving my husband was hard. Trying to face the world alone with my teenage daughter is the sort of thing nightmares are made of, but I caught a break. My best friend just hired me for a great job. It's not anything special, simply managing the leasing office of this very fancy and highly exclusive neighborhood, yet the perks mean I get my second chance. Speaking of perks, my rent-free house is right beside not just one handsome man, but five! Each one is hotter than the last, and all of them seem interested in me. Maybe I can't remember the last date I was on, but if I want to master being a strong woman, then this is a good place to start. It's just dating, right? Normal life stuff. Not so much. Everyone around us has these strange golden eyes. Then there are the questions no one will answer. And who cares if there's a lot of wildlife running around at night? I do, especially when a wolf keeps sneaking into my backyard. I have a kid to worry about. Things have got to change before someone gets bitten! Normal is going out the window, and fast. My neighbors say I don't belong here, and they don't mean because I'm Hispanic. Never mind that I just heard a man growl. Now they're talking about fated somethings, and I'm pretty sure they mean me. I feel like I'm going crazy!Book 2 - Wolf's don't have to be a wolf to show your claws, but it helps. My five boyfriends - yes, five - are being much too patient with me. That's pissing a few people off. It seems that when living with a pack of wolves, there are certain expectations for the alpha's mate - and I suck at this. A few months ago, I had no idea shifters even existed! I just wanted a safe home, and this is it, although it's not at all what I imagined. When an ex-girlfriend decides to make my life a living hell, pack rules say that if I want to keep my place, I need to win my own fights. That's not easy when she's young, fit, beautiful, and a wolf. I'm not. But with the help of a few friends, a little medical advice, and a whole lot of pent up sexual frustration, one thing is going very, very well. Five boyfriends really are better than one. I just have to balance them with my child and these new pack responsibilities. So if I want to be strong, I need to stop letting others push me around. It's time for the claws to come out. Book 3 - Wolf's a wolf and she will always fight back. I finally did it. I took that last step and it was everything I wanted. My relationship with my five mates has never been better. They've embraced not only me as a part of their lives, but also my daughter, and this feels like the family I always dreamed of. I don't mean just myself and my mates, but the entire pack. They call me "Alpha." No, I'm not the Alpha, but I'm learning how to step up. I got this. I'd better, since Wolf's Run has thrown open our doors to more than just wolves, but it seems like my version of winging it is working for all of us. Between the antics of these teenagers, the insanity of so many changes happening at once, and the enemies my mates and I have already made, things are out of control. I feel like I'm chasing my tail. Thankfully, I've learned a few new tricks. Once, I was just the nice lady next door. Now, this is my pack, and I've become a real bitch. There are some situations in these books that may be triggering for some readers. I just spent the last 48 hours reading this entire series. Wolves Next Door by Auryn Hadley is so, so good! It’s a reverse harem with a human female age 40 with 5 wolves, between the ages of 29-36. It’s such an amazing story with the perfect level of steam, and so many good twists, and turns. And what I loved the most about it, it had low angst. Nothing super dangerous, low on lies, and great love and family relationships.

Note:

✅ Kindle Unlimited
✅ Slow burn (then spicy!!)
✅ FMC - Latina, human (no Knowledge of supernatural) and 40
✅ Jerk and mentally abusive ex husband
✅ Teen daughter - great addition to story
✅ 5 Men - wolf shifters
✅ A couple group scenes
✅ Great side characters
✅ Found family
✅ HEA
✅ Strong female characters throughout book

- No MM
- One gay relationship among teens
- no BDSM
- No humiliation/degradation
- no noncon or dubcon

Triggers:
Violence outside of harem, bullying of FMC outside of harem, high school gun violence

Disappointed

I was expecting the wonderful creative writer of the Iliri series but got someone that stated in the books that illegal immigrants are the big victims here and why should we care about Jews, Christians, Whites or Asians. As if those groups aren't being targeted, assaulted, and victimized. She goes on, in ignorance about Whites enslaving Blacks and Brits imposing their will on defenseless Arabs (Muslims). Never mentions Blacks enslaving and selling other Blacks. Never mentions that the Ottoman empire lost that land during the War to the Brits. She focuses on events that ended by 1948. Never mentions that there is still Black's and othe POC enslaving other Black's legally in some countries currently. Books would have been good if this garbage wasn't in them.

Decent read

Things I liked:
1. Older woman. It was nice to read a story about a woman who was confident in who she was and there were no games or petty relationship drama.
2. The book had an interesting take on wolf shifters.
3. Nice relationship and story progression.

Thing I didn’t like:
1. The story could be very tedious at some points. The characters would agonize over things to the point of boredom. I would find myself skipping entire pages.
2. A lot of attention went to Gabby towards the end and I felt like the main characters were no longer a priority.

Overall, this trilogy was a good read. I look forward to reading more from this author and this world.

Epic Romance that plays out perfectly!

Ever get that feeling like you are watching a show in your imagination while reading a book because it feels so real? Or when you can connect with the character even when your physical attributes are different? I emmersed myself in this book. Lost hours of sleep because I would rather read. Undeniably fantastic. It's like par of my own story was written. I want to move to wolf's run! It was perfectly paced, perfect length, perfectly written and I feel satisfied after it. No hangover. Just pure bliss. Thank you for writing this.

Long Read But Satisfying

It took several days to read but worth every word. I'm rooting for Gabby and can't wait until she's grown. And Elena...... I just knew she'd kick ass as a wolf. It was a great read even a long one. Interesting and detailed without being mundane. Elena got over being so much being a worry wart but it came in handy. She could handle the new converts well. Ian (Alpha) was great, along with his betas. Sexy, sensual, sometimes steamy love scenes. If your not into group sex, don't read this. Otherwise a good book.

So in love, is there a Wolf’s Run equivalent in Albuquerque, NM?

This series is so great. The story line and character development was utter perfection. The struggle/difficulties they faced were realistic and well done. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the romantic development… yummy! All while the main protagonist was juggling the complexity of being a single mother to a teenage daughter, a recent divorcée, and a Latina woman. Amazing! I can’t wait to read the next series crafted by Ms. Hadley. I’m a new fan, but hooked for life. Thank you Auryn.

Great as always.

Auryn has quickly become my favorite author. My only complaint is that as far as I can tell I have now read everything she has written or co-authored. The books by her and Kitty Cox are also great! I haven't read one book of hers or theirs that I haven't loved. And I've read thousands of books! I just wish there were more! I hope she writes quickly. It is so hard to find anything I love to read this much!

Wolves Next Door

Amazing book! I read it all weekend. The story pulled me in and I had a hard time laying it down. It was a totally different more modern take on a wolf pack. Blending the different cultures and ways of thinking was genius. I loved the characters and watched them mature with love and understanding through the story. I am definitely looking for more of Auryn's books. 😊

I devoured this book

I'm in complete love with this book! I'm in my 40s, and I think that's why I connected so much with this book. I loved watching Elena really come into her own. I liked that all the guys fell in love at their own pace. There was no instalove, except Lane. IYKYK. Her being a mom and a Latina woman, were her super powers. So glad I found this book when I was doom scrolling 💜

I love box sets!

With Auryn you know you're in for a treat. I wait with this series for the complete set because I get really sad reading a book in under a day and then waiting for the next book. Lovers of paranormal storylines will love this series. Heck, everyone would love these stories because Auryn wrote them!

This book had plenty of spice and a food storyline. There is some drama but it’s a lot of like everyday life with a harem and a teenager.

I loved the men Seth and Lane were my favs.

I loved the sisterhood!

This book is medium heavy in Hispanic culture. Which I enjoyed because I felt like it was fun but I was still “learning” little things here and there.

I hope Ashley get her own book with her bears.

I do wish Elena had another baby idc if she’s 40 I wanted it BAD

A lot of internal dialogue

The overall story was pretty good. It dragged for me because of the internal angst going on throughout the whole book. It was exhausting as I just wanted to move on with the story line. Lots of detailed sex in the reverse harem of 5 men and 1 woman. Full series, no cliffhanger and a HEA.

Not what I expected from this author…Political racist rant….illegal Hispanics are victims….no other race is important or suffered….all white people are racists. And only white people were slave owners…wow author might need to open a history book to read or research facts instead of using social media as gospel….

Next Door

I really enjoyed this series of novels. There was some repetition and at times it dragged on but for the most part it was a smooth read. The characters are all developed. No one is left out and the challenges they are faced with are interesting and action packed for the most part.

Brilliant

This is another brilliant trilogy written buy Auryn Hadley, I really like the main characters and the world this is set in, I've read another series by her also set in this world so I know it well, and I like that her main characters are never the norm which makes for a nice change.

One of the best shutter series I've read!!!!!

Maybe its because I'm a woman of a certain age that I can identify with our leading lady. A single mom raising a teenager, too full of themselves, daughter. I lived the excitement, drama and not to mention the neighbors next door. Excellent storyline from beginning til end.

A nice twist of the werewolf story!

I really enjoyed reading this series! It’s a nice twist of the werewolf story, but enjoyable to read. I especially love how this author didn’t just write the daughter as an attachment to the mom’s story but developed an amazing story for her too!

Great series!

First time reading work by this author and I was impressed first the start. This first chapter grabbed hold and I couldn’t let go until I’d finished the series. A story that captured from the start and didn’t slow down.

I swere this better not be the end.

This was an Amazing series. I could do with less sex scenes but that's just me. I don't read these books for that, I actually like the story. It was one of my favorites.
