The gods are fading, most barely a memory, and I’m tasked with fixing it.

My mission is simple:

1. Open the last box.

2. Control my powers.

3. Get back to Lumen.

But with gods, nothing is as it seems.

After learning the gods’ true motives, I’m faced with the ultimate test.

What will I sacrifice for the greater good?

Or, more importantly, who?

The Forgotten Prison series is a WhyChoose mmfmmmm romance, meaning the female main character doesn't have to choose between her men. Broken contains violence, attempted assault, and other situations that others might find triggering.

Memory by Suki Williams & Jarica James

I Give this Book a 3.5-4/5 Star Rating, Listing as 3 stars is Not At All a bad rating, I’m going by my rating list ☺️

Cliffhanger(?): Yes! It’s a mysterious cliffhanger, I have no idea how what’s gonna happen next, genuinely curious.
Relationship Type: RH> Reverse Harem-MMFMMM
M/M(?): Yes!
Heat: 4/5
Romance: 3.5-4/5
Drama: 3-3.5/5
Suspense: 3.5-4/5
Pacing: it’s a bit slower paced, but this book has a more relaxed but quieter-ish(?) tone to it, just sit back and read as the characters enjoy each other essentially, not as much drama in this one at all actually until near and at the end. But surprisingly I’m okay with that cause it feels like it’s gearing up to something aka the calm before the storm.

Everyone but the demigods are shits in this book. The gods are shits. The government are shits. Even the human parents are, apparently, shits. Mila and her men are perfection though. Lots of steamy goodness, with a couple sides of MM. 🤤 Just perfection. Finding out what the gods plans are for our demigods? Shit! The idea of sacrificing any of them, but especially Wade, who, let’s face it, is Mila’s tie to humanity, is just mind blowingly sad and awful. And that wee cliffy at the end? 😬 Bring on book 4!!! 💜

This series will forever have my heart...mainly because it continues to rip it out of my chest and break it to pieces with these cliffhangers! If you think the cliffhanger from the previous book got you good, this one might be even worse because everything is so up in the air. At least with Mila's death you knew she'd come back because the series couldn't really continue without her. But now? Who even knows what is going to happen. All I know is that I'm holding out hope for Mila and her guys to come up with an answer to this current devastating problem, and it isn't even the destruction of Lumen!

What I really hate about everything going on is that the main focus from everyone besides Mila and her group is power. Both the gods and humans don't really care what happens to anything besides themselves. Huge amounts of people can be killed or imprisoned, but as long as they remain in power, that is all that matters. The end game goal should be a balance between everything so one thing doesn't overpower the other, allowing each individual thing to flourish in its own time. I know Mila is bound to come up with an answer to everything so the world can become a place where everyone can live without a fear of starvation or being killed for false misconduct. She's just stubborn enough and determined enough to go up against both sides who want to simply control the human world.

But with all of this craziness going on, there were still so many incredible and touching moments between everyone. With Mila's death came an understanding of each character's emotions. The anguish, the guilt, the love they felt for Mila. After her return you really see everyone opening up even more than before. The connections are more real and the bond between the group, even between those who despised each other, has grown. It's good to know that they will be there for each other as well and not just for Mila. I can't wait to see what they are capable of in the next book!

Warning: There is a cliffhanger at the end of this book. There is more to this story and I can’t wait for it! The beginning of this story picks up right where the last one left off. And immediately starts to rip your heart out. Seeing what each of the guys has been going through while Mila has been gone is heart wrenching. But the emotions really come forth when they realize she is returning! And Wade…. our little Roboman…. he can’t believe it until he sees her. I loved the reunion and how much each guy showed Mila their feelings. They all reconnected in this book and I think Mila finally realized how much each one of them loved her for her and not because of a connection she shared with Gwen. Mila realizing her own worth with the guys was one of my favorite parts. Her connection to them, and their connection with each other, just became stronger as the book went on. All the little things each did for Mila and each other helped the connections go. The steam heated up in this part of the series and I am here for that! We did get devastating news about Wade at the end, so the authors managed to bring me full circle in my emotions. They started out breaking my heart, just to repair it and make it soar, then to tear it out again. That cliffhanger was brutal! But it just makes me even more excited for the continuation of this series. This series, while has many elements of other series that are out there, brings whole new levels and ideas to those elements. There is a steampunk aspect that I have not explored before that fascinates me. It is so hard to label this as just another paranormal series because it is much more than that in my opinion. Needless to say, Suki and Jarica have me hooked and I can’t wait for more!

My biggest problem reading books one and two was that it felt like the only story arc was for our FMC and Wade and that was just "survive" while 4 MMCs had a goal of opening their boxes. And of course smutt for all.

Every other MMC knew more and was just not telling us things for like "plot reasons." I figured out they were the four horsemen of the apocalypse as soon as I saw them mention powers and I realized this wasn't a straight up scfi story. I figured out all the Gwen stuff early too. Maybe i didn't know all the details but I knew there would be an apocalypse part of it eventually so I waited and waited for that to come up. So for the first two and like 4/5ths of book three it just felt like there was no series plot as our FMC was just kind of moving towards survival or sleeping with the guys. I felt more like I was speculating what the plot is rather than enjoying the path we were on.

Book three was kind of the culmination of that and where it felt like we finally got pointed in the right direction. That said, this book felt excessive and slow compared to the first two books. Like we could have just cut out like 3 plot pieces and added them to the previous book and it would have flown better. I really don't care about the smutt in this book. It was like "oh we cant do anything now so let's have a smutty scene." Sadly I was bored enough of this book that I am not sure i really care enough to continue reading.

So book two ended epically and now we start book three where it left off. So are we going to find out if Mila is coming back or was that the end of her life. This book is very emotional. I mean you finally see the guys actually talking about how the feel about Mila. Wade seems to have taken it really hard. Luckily Ren is there and helps him through the pain. However, the gods have different plans for Mila. Aki is the only one left to find his box. Only he has no clue where to start. All the men had to have Mila help them. So when the guys are ready to break Mila shows back up and they think they are all dreaming. But they are not. Now they get back to business and find out what they need to do next. We find out that there may be some betrayal with the gods or could it be considered that. Something is not right and seems a bit fishy. Then we have what is going on with Wade. This is heart breaking and I don't know how I will handle what could happen. We are left in a huge cliffy and I should know better since Suki and Jarica did this to me last time. Now the wait begins.

"I want you to prove to me that you're real. That you're alive and here. I don't care about your goodbyes; I want your future."

This is one of those series where it's dangerous to think you know it all, because once you do, the authors change the whole thing again... Throughout this book the tempo of the story slows down a little, but it feels like the calm before the storm, especially with how the authors end this book. While I still love Wade, and I believe he'll always be my favorite, the other men are starting to grow on me as well. I quite like Aki's grumpy attitude, and how the brightness of Mila's character balances it out.

Even though I loved the prison and its location deep down, I was happy to discover some other parts of this world and I'm really looking forward to head to Lumen and dive back into the dystopian part of this world... Something tells me the next and final book of this series will be awesome.

So unexpected

Well wow. I was not expecting that ending.

I started this series not truly knowing what to expect - love dystopian but not really read any cyberpunk. Together? Loved it.

This series is intense, thought provoking, steamy, twisted - all the good stuff really. The FMC is sassy, strong and a bit of a bada$$. Together with her four, nope five, oops six(!) men, it’s a story of survival, relationship building, trust, betrayal and so many wee plots thrown in. Add in a little paranormal/ fantasy it’s a definite page turner.

Can’t wait for book four - this took a turn I did not see coming. Highly recommend. Solid 5 star read. Add to your TBR even if you’ve not read this genre before.

This series loves to keep me on my toes! It's just so dang good. The story continues to be fast paced, twisty turny, and genuinely intriguing. The steamy bits were hot throughout the entire book. The ending left my heart hurting. I can't wait to see Mila kick a** in the final installment of this series!

This one got slightly better. The cliff hanger at the end was good and has me more driven to read the last book. I have to admit its been hard finding the motivation to keep reading, I'm not one to dnf a book lightly, and being a short book helps. I hope the last book delivers more of an easier reading experience.

This series keeps getting better and better. I’m thoroughly enthralled by the steamy sexy times, but I’m staying for all the behind the scenes maneuvering being done. Things are definitely heating up in every way as we race towards the final book. I know I’ll be devouring it too!

I enjoyed this book, just like I enjoyed books 1 and 2. I love Mila and her guys! I loved the intrigue and sexy times and we all know I'm a sucker for some MM action *swoon*. The government and gods are full of douchebaggery and I'm ready for book 4 to titilate me some more. Keep it up girls

God I tried so hard to keep reading this series and for how short the book is I’m surprised I got bored. The relationship between two of the characters was not what I wanted in a reverse harem book.

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions and new information.
I loved how the guys did what they could to help one another through the wait for her return, especially when some loathed one another. Once Mila is sent back to Eden we see everyone opening up and really showing how much they care. I think with this Mika realizes that the guys all love her for her and not because of the connection she has to Gwen.
But we also find out that the gods (some way more than others) are planning something catastrophic for humanity. Mila doesn’t agree with it, but isn’t sure how she can stop it...yet.
And that heartbreaking ending...I bawled my eyes out!! Waaaaaaade! 😭
