What a strange book. The raw information is pretty good and will be helpful for me at work. Her spin on the information is a little weird. The editing is terrible, girl fire your editor.

When Cyndi shared with me the outline of her book Hold the Line, I knew this book needed to be written.

Throughout the process of writing, I had the privilege of walking alongside Cyndi as she wrestled with herself making sure she created something that is useful, that is applicable, and that people can relate to

She has achieved this hands down.

I wish I had had this book when I was working with Police, Fire and Ambulance officers. This book has helped me develop the cultural competency to understand what life is like for these people who so willingly serve in our communities.

Reading this book now has helped me understand my first responder friends so I can be more mindful of their needs, demands and create opportunities to connect more meaningfully with them.

I’m not sure who edited this book but please do better next time.

Moving on.
She emphasizes the relationship between a spouse and police officer, but the content could apply to any relationship with any first responder, not JUST romantic relationships.
I did not like the writing style at all. It felt like reading a rough draft or diary. It was very hard for me to finish this book. That being said, there were some nuggets of wisdom scattered throughout the book.

If you have any type of relationship with a first responder, this is a good intro course to help understand a little bit about why that person is the way that they are as a result of their job.

I recommend it to anyone connected to a LEO and even people who are not supportive of law enforcement. Any first responder for that matter. It’s crazy how law enforcement can impact your life on and off the job. Especially when your brain becomes conditioned to always being in a state of “alert”. This book is a walk in their shoes along with their family. The insight this book gives is extremely useful!

This is a must read if you’re a law enforcement spouse. A great meat and potatoes book from the spouse’s perceptive with the added bonus of a Licensed Professional Counselor.

This is a pretty good book. The author wrote a lot about her experience and it did lose my attention quite a few times, but I think the book did have some great advice and takeaways.

It is absolutely amazing and insightful for law enforcement, but general relationship support!
