Cam left Millar's Crossing for a career in music breaking Dodie's heart as well as his own. Cam returns home at his stepmother Kelly's request while she is recovering from knee surgery. Now widowed from Cam's stepbrother, Dodie is being pressured by Kelly to take care of her full time while Kelly recovers, but Dodie has a contract to deliver custom canoes. Cam is stunned to hear that Kelly plans to sell his family's farm. Now Cam and Kelly have to work together to get the farm and house ready to sell. As they work together, Dodie starts to recognize the unfair treatment of Cam by his stepmother. I received a free copy of this ebook from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is my favorite book in the series. I love how Cam realizes that he has to make peace with the past. I also love how Dodie is able to reconnect with Cam. This is a wonderful Christian second chance romance. I love this book and will reread this again someday.

I received an ARC of this book from the author, Carolyne Aarsen, via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary and honest review. This is a wonderful second chance romance between Dodie and Cam in Millars Crossing. Cam is a rock star who returns home during a break when his Stepmother, Kelly, is in the hospital. Dodie was married to Kelly's son, Greg, after she and Cam broke up but she never stopped loving Cam. She was visiting Kelly at the hospital when Cam arrived and they both realized that their attraction for each other was still alive. Since Greg had died years ago, Dodie and Cam were free to renew their relationship but Dodie never wanted to leave Millars Crossing and Cam didn't want to give up singing with his band. Which one was willing to let go and make a change so they could be together? You will have to read the book to find out. I highly recommend this book if you like a clean second chance romance. All four books in this series are great reads.

A Family’s Promise by Carolyne Aarsen
Love in Millars Crossing Series Book Four
Cam Morgan had left Millars Crossing a few months after his father died. Never to return. But now, his stepmother, Kelly, had asked him to come home. And his band had just finished a tour. So, a few weeks here and then to Mexico for some time away before the next tour. He couldn’t imagine what the woman who always hated him could want.
Dodie Westerveld Morgan had a business to run, and yet, Kelly, her late husband’s mother, expected her to drop everything and take care of her once she was released from the hospital. On top of that, Cam was back. The man she had loved…and who had broken her heart and left. She had ended up marrying Greg…Cam’s stepbrother.
So many hidden secrets or unsaid truths can mess with people’s lives. Cam not telling Dodie why he left. Kelly clinging to her dead son’s memory. Wonderful story!

Things are not as they seem after reading the first chapter of this second chance romance! Each chapter opens up more wrong perceptions that have been carried for more than a decade. The storyline was riveting and keeps you submerged in the obvious deceptions that have made Cam appear as the reckless and thoughtless stepson of Kelly and the past boyfriend, but also brother-in-law, to Dodie. Can Cam come back to tiny Holmes Crossing and make amends to these two women? What secrets are hid as Cam and Dodie search thru a barn that hasn't been opened since Cam left? A touch of mystery in this book opens the way to a startling truth that is laid open as the story progresses and they each resolve to bring God back as the center of their lives. An engaging read!

I received an ARC copy of this book, but this is my voluntary, honest and completely personal review.

Cam Morgan returns to Millers Crossing and reconnects with former sweetheart Dodie Westerveld. He had left several years arlier after breaking up with Dodie and had become successful with his band. CAm felt he had to leave after his father had left the family farm solely to his stepmother. Dodie, now a young widow and Cam now begin to rconnect. Finally Cam lets Dodie know why he left as he thought he had no future in Millers Crossing and no way to make a living and Cam, Dodie and Kelly his stepmother all struggle with the hurts of the past. That forgiveness plays a big role in this story goes without saying. The author has made another home run hit with this book and it will tug at your heart and leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling.

A Family's Promise, the 4th and final book in Carolyne Aarsen's Love in Millars Crossing series. This book is just as good as the others but it has a bit of complicated relationships.

Cam Morgan and Dodie Westerveld were an item until Cam decided to leave Millars Crossing and join his band on the road. Time has passed and Kelly gets involved with Cam's step-brother, Greg. Cam's step-mother has surgery and beckons Cam to return to Millars Crossing. Cam's father and step-brother are both now deceased allowing Cam and Dodie to rekindle their relationship from years ago.

If I haven't lost you, I will tell you that there is much more to the story, but you will have to get yourself a copy to enjoy.

I so enjoyed Cam and Dodie's story. Cam had big dreams that included Dodie and his family farm, but those dreams disappeared when his father died. Both Dodie and Cam tried to make separate lives, but neither had the whole picture. I got so upset reading the callousness of Cam's Step Mom and thinking of all Cam lost because of her selfishness. I also pulled for Cam to win back Dodie. I love it when a story causes me to get involved with the characters. If you like clean second change stories with heart, you will enjoy A Family's Promise. I highly recommend. I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.

This book is wonderful! The story has such heart and feeling, I couldn’t stop reading until I saw The End and then got sad. I wanted more. Greg, Cam, Dodie and Kelly had been through so much in life that I just wanted the best for them. Dodie was such a giving and sweet person, I wanted to reach into the book and give her a hug.She suffered the rejection of the biggest love of her life; then, so much grief over the death of her husband; and yet, she had forgiveness and goodness in her soul. This
is a must-read book. The story-line will remain in my mind for a long time. Thanks to the author for writing a great book with so much meaning.

This book had my emotions all over the place! Sadness for the years that Cam and Dodie lost, anger at the way Kelly showed such obvious favoritism towards Greg and such disdain for Cam, disgust at Greg for his reckless behavior, nostalgia when I read about my favorite characters from previous books in the series, inspiration from the messages of faith and forgiveness woven throughout the story, and joy in the love that Dodie and Cam found their way back to in the end. I loved this story, I love reading books by Carolyne Aarsen, and I hope to read a lot more of them in the future. I received a copy of this book from the author, and I am giving my voluntary and honest opinion.

Dodi's character in book 3 grabbed my attention and I am so glad she got her own story told. This book broke my heart for Dodi and Cam. They had such amazing forgiving attitudes toward those who deceived them. A book that shows that giving forgiveness and felling conviction is definitely a gift from the Lord. I still do not like Kelly not at the beginning and not at the end. Will history repeat itself? Or will things be different now that they know the truth? Loved seeing Dodi and Cam together. One of the best grand gestures ever and I loved the ending.

I enjoyed this interesting book of secrets and Itwo brothers, who were part of a blended family. I felt so sorry for Cam and everthing that he had been through in his life. It must have been so hard for him when his dad remarried after his mother died.

The story captivated me as I tried to figure out Cam's story and his stepmother's story. I am so glad he finally found his home and who was going to be a part of that home. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Is it possible to give forgiveness and find forgiveness or are has too much time gone by?

Cam Morgan left the only woman he ever loved, without an explanation . Dodie Westerveld doesn't take it well and ends up married to her old boyfriend, Cam's stepbrother Greg, now what ? This situation is difficult enough but let's add in a manipulating mother- in- law, revealed secrets, questions answered and an old love returned, again now what?! This story reaches it's ending through a series of ups and downs. . Hold on tight and enjoy the ride, I certainly did.

A Family's Promise is a very interesting, second chance romance. This book is chock full of secrets, betrayals and a very manipulative stepmother/mother-in-law. Yet God's grace could save them all. I love Dodie and Cam who find their still care for each other. All these characters demonstrate growth in the course of this well written story that I could not put down. I am going to miss Millars Crossing. This is a series not to be missed.

A Family’s Promise

A great story on a family that fell apart because of promises mad and not kept. A father who remarried and brought his new wife and son to the farm where the new wife took advantage of the husbands son by ignoring him and chastising him at every turn. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

A story of lost and found love and forgiveness

You can always count on Carolyne Aarsen to write a satisfying story. I really liked this story of Cam and Dodie. Both characters had been hurt, but didn’t want that feeling to fuel their lives. The ending was great. You won’t see it coming, but it will be very satisfying. I really hated to see this story come to an end.

A great story!

This author writes stories of complicated lives in the the characters she creates. They are real people with real struggles and no easy solution. They are real people with weakness and strength and not always making the right choices. Read all four books and you will find a journey of learning and love.

It is interesting to see how a person's perception can sway how they treat others. This is a story of hurt, forgiveness, growth, longing, and finding love. There are some definite hits to Cam. I loved that he had a good friend who gave him advice that helped him in his journey to heal and to find joy.

Sweet

Dodie was married to his step brother but she had gone with him for a while. Cam is a country singer, who have her and his life up for. Can they make it work? Can they work? Will her family accept him?

Gee, I didn't like the mother-in-law. Dodie the daughter in law was such a nice trusting person . A different kind of beginning . This book is worth reading , as any book by this author.

Cam and Dodie

Thus is one mixed up family. This is very emotional and made me cry. But loved the ending. What a wicked stepmother.
