AS HEIR TO THE THRONE, SHE’S THE ONE MATE I CAN’T HAVE. A HUMAN.
But I’ll be her protector even if it kills me.
Caleb
I’ve been accused of murder. One I didn’t commit.
And now the alluring, human witch investigating the crime has my Lion dying to claim her. The one female who is off limits to me.
I’m Alpha of the Pride, heir to the Lion Throne. I can have any Lioness for my queen, so why am I so hungry for a taste of the forbidden priestess?
That she challenges me only makes me want her more.
But now she’s missing. Another witch, taken by the murderer. I will do everything in my power to find her and protect her from him.
She’s mine now.
Haile
Lion shifters are the worst. They act like women are possessions to be captured, broken and bred. The only reason I allowed him close was a case of mistaken identity.
I thought he was a friend but find out he’s the enemy. A royal shifter, heir to the throne, who has been lying this entire time.
But I wasn’t expecting my body to recognize him, and want him this badly. His only crime… destroying my walls and stealing my heart.
And now the real killer is after me. He mutilated those witches and now he’s come for me too.
I must escape. And discover, once and for all, the secrets of my past.
Before it’s too late.

All stories in the Royal Bad Boy Shifter Series are 18+ with a happy-ever-after ending and no cheating, and can be read as standalone.
Lea Jade lives in London with her bean-shaped dog and the rest of her non-furry family. Where she writes fun & flirty paranormal romance with plenty of magic, action and mystery suspense. All her stories end happily. Featuring smoldering alphas, or cheeky shifter bad boys needing to be tamed, who fall hard for the sassy, kick-ass heroine who doesn’t need to be saved.
When she’s not pandering to the whim of her grumpy, jack-chi pup, or beating up bad guys, you can find her word-wrangling her next crazy adventure, and listening to Ed Sheeran while sipping spiced chai-latte at her local Starbucks.

I really liked this fast-paced paranormal read. Caleb is a lion shifter and Alpha of his Pride who has been accused of murder. Haile is a witch and come to town to investigate the murders. Sparks fly between them but Caleb must marry a lioness shifter, not a witch. What will happen when he discovers she is his mate and she a has been taken? Fast-paced read with loads of drama and suspense, the chemistry is steamy and the twists and turns in this entertaining story keep you interested throughout. I liked it.
Omg. This book was so good. Sexy main characters with great chemistry. Steamy scenes and plenty of passion. Just the right amount of drama. Loved every page.

First book in a new world from Lea Jade - listed as part of both the Royal Lions duology and the Royal Bad Boy Shifter series. TAKE NOTE. It's not the worst cliffhanger I've read, but it's definitely not a pleasing ending for me. Even though the next book is supposedly another standalone about another couple, I'd say that you should read this one first.
It's fast and fairly action packed, and I like a good quick paranormal romance as much as the next girl. This one had a lot of potential - witch and shifter, supernatural murders, vampires, shifter politics, etc. Plenty of juicy material to work with. However, this just didn't do it for me, for a lot of reasons. So what when wrong?
Ok, I hated Haile from her first scene. I'll admit it. She struck me as an immature idiot from the get-go. She's sliding around in the taxi 'because of his erratic driving' and gives the driver the stink eye. But she's not wearing her seatbelt. Repeat: She's not wearing her seat belt. Twenty-eight years old, not wearing her seat belt in city traffic, and blaming the driver when she's getting jerked around in the car. And what's her oh-so-mature response when this is pointed out? She rolls her eyes at him. And that's our first introduction to this character's thoughts. Incredibly immature, and that just continues throughout. She fusses later that they're acting "as if I can't defend myself." She'd been in town less than 24 hours and had already been kidnapped once. She'll be kidnapped again the following day. I'd say, no. No, she can't defend herself.
There's almost no world building. I had no sense of where or what type of town Sidlow Springs was, there was little to no description of the places they visited, etc. It was a weird, kinda empty feeling. And the same with the supernatural elements. Things were talked about just offhand but never developed. Even Haile's magic. She's "necromancer-born" whatever that means. But necromancy (in the real world) either means magic with the dead, or (less commonly) magic/dark arts in general. Here it seems to mean life force magic? It was really weird using an established "real world" term but giving it new connotations without explaining things further. Why not just give her magic a new term? Much less confusion for the reader.
The romance too seemed weird. Yes, fated mate sort of attraction, and part of the tension was whether they should or shouldn't be attracted to each other (both because of job/role and supernatural species). But they also never talked. Like, ever. Her first impression of him in the cab was in a picture where she's assuming he's an abusive player. Does that ever come up again to get cleared up? Nooope.
For a book this short, there were a lot of continuity errors, especially time of day. She arrives and talks about "early morning airport rush hour" but then guys were talking in the previous chapter about midday traffic? Same day, same airport visit even, but two dramatically different times of day? And in the dramatic conclusion, she sees Cal coming over the hill as the light crests over it - so sun is rising - but Kai had been calling him earlier in the day that she hadn't been delivered to him at 11:01. So has she been kidnapped since the previous morning? It was hard following how long this whole story took place.
There were a fair number of British-isms tucked in, for a story (presumably) set in the US. Spellings, slang, etc. Paired with the lack of description as to where these towns are, it just emphasized how empty the world felt. No context. I mean, are they in Canada, in which case, proximity to New York and the use of "honoured" would make sense? But it's never mentioned, so who knows??
Editing errors too, including my favorite issue - period and comma confusion. So so so many times there were sentences beginning with conditional clauses, but ending with a period. And then a small sentence after it - two sentences (or a sentence and a fragment) which should have been joined by a comma, but had been broken into two with a period. One of my pet peeves. Lots of missing words too, or incorrect words (razing vs raking, for example). And are the Coven and the Council plural nouns for this world? Because there were a lot of sentences "The Coven are..." Yes, these are groups of people, but the word itself is still singular, right? As a single body? It got on my nerves. So, yeah, needed some more proofreading and grammatical editing.
And then there was the ending. The leads are together, so in that sense it's not a cliffhanger. But in the two epilogues, So yeah, a cliffhanger.
Alternating 1st person POV. No cheating, no OW/OM drama, no love triangle nonsense. Rushed and action packed, but underdeveloped and (frankly) chaotic. Plus, immature h and desperate need of proofreading and editing. Cliffhanger.
Would I read more in the series? No. Despite the cliffhangers, I wasn't drawn into the author's world or writing style enough to bother.
ONE ACTION PACKED SENSATION!!! Holy hell! Lea unleashes one spectacular approach, dishing out this pulse racing, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, chart topping thrill ride, meshing this bad boy together sleek, shiny and tight. Satisfaction is an understatement, this baby comes packing a punch that'll bring you to your knees, keeping you riveted on a razors edge and frozen to your seat. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, kicking this gem into a tempest, blasting it into a tailspin with a mind-blowing culmination. Twined, combined and interwoven, exposing the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it's strength and awe inspiring in it's depth. Rousting the drama, intrigue, tension, turmoil, danger, underlying currents, mounting suspense and nerve racking situations along with a boatload of sinister intentions while dodging bedlem, you have one mind-blowing masterpiece. Intense attraction and chemistry sizzles through the pages, alluring and mesmerizing, drawing you closer until you feel the electricity thrumming through your veins. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow, transforming into genuinely relatable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and depictions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Amazing job Lea, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
Hmmm!! It was a good book, had me hooked and lovin each page & the characters. I thought this was a standalone book, I'm not normally a fan of short read books. The book finished at a part where I was shouting Noooo!! As it's incomplete, there's mention of this second book, but reading the snippets I'm getting the impression it's about the head security Tasha meeting her mate. I hope it continues on about Haile and her father brother and Cal otherwise it's gonna be one book after another then another which is why I detest short books. I hate being left hanging.
Wonderfully fantastic! “Royally Charmed” was an amazing tale. It had a lot of details and juicy scenes to it... The characters and their personalities match them perfectly... The storyline’s plot is filled with drama, intrigue, danger, suspense, and twists. The main characters are authentic and realistic with sizzling chemistry that burns up the pages of this tale. The scenes are vivid and intriguing. I loved this tale. I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily
I really enjoyed this one. I've read a lot of shifter romances and this is one. Caleb is next in line for Alpha of his lion pride and Haile is a witch who's mom is the high priestess. She's come to town to prove he murdered someone and he's been trying to protect her the whole time. Caleb immediately knows she's his mate but he can't mate her because she's human and it could stop his ascent to the throne.
There are quite a few grammatical errors. I had to re-read several lines at places because of extra words or incorrect context.
...the editing was horrible to the point I almost stopped reading it. Wrong / misplaced words and bad punctuation from the get-go. Caleb and Hailey danced around their attraction, thinking it the result of a shifter healing salve. Not so. She's his new mate. Unexpected to be sure. Now he's just gotta keep her safe while on a mission to stop a killer. A lot of surprises at the end.
I love anything paranormal and this one is no different. Good read. This is a story of betrayal, mystery, lions, witches and vampires. What happens when you find your mate, can't have her because shes human? That's the backstory forbidden romance and all the things that make a great book

Caleb is a lion shifter prince trying to help solve the murders of witches in his territory. He meets a new witch coming in to help with the investigation and is trying to protect her. I enjoyed the mystery and how the characters grew and changed. Can't wait for the next book.
Awesome read Caleb was a royal lion shape shifter and Hallie was a human witch/priestess. The story is great with twists and turns and suspense and keep you on edge. It's ends on a cliffhanger so you have read the next book to find out what happens next.

I'm not a fan of cliffhanger books. And I've never made a secret of that. This book leaves you hanging, or it just left me hanging. The story was good to start with but the ending is not my favourite.
A fantastic book that hooks you from the start. This shifter read has quite a few twists and some suspense. Caleb and Haile have just only found their beginning but have a lot to get through and it's only begun. I look forward to reading the next in the series.
Holy shiznet!!! What a gr8 story. Cal is a shifter trying to save himself from murder charges and to find the real killer. Haile is a witch trying to find out who is killing witches and why. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
This story was incredible, exciting, and just plain fantastic!!. It has a great storyline with awesome characters!!. Lea is an incredible writer and phenomenal storyteller😁😂.
Things have gone very wrong in lion shifter Caleb’s world of magic—a sting of witches have gone missing in his territory, and most have turned up dead. Now, a witch has been sent to his father’s kingdom of Blackwater Pride to investigate the killing spree. Caleb has been tasked by Kaiser, college buddy and now, chief warlock of the investigation, to escort the witch to her hotel. Caleb is on a short leash, but he is grateful for the opportunity to speak with the witch since he unknowingly stumbled on the last gruesome murder scene and is Suspect 1 in the search for the perpetrator. The crime scene bears all the marks of a lion on a rampage, further implicating Caleb, but Caleb’s money is on a rogue vampire. Arriving at the airport, spotting and catching his prey’s scent, Caleb is unexplainably overwhelmed by his inner beast, struggling to shift. His older brother, Trey, is telepathic communication, is aware of Caleb’s distress, but assumes that the previous evening’s party has had lingering effects. Distracted by his uncontrollable desire to shift, Caleb arrives too late to prevent an outlaw vampire posing as a taxi driver from luring the witch investigator into his ride. And now the chase begins—Caleb must rescue the witch from the vampire ride and get her to Kaiser if he hopes to clear himself of a murder charge and to regain his father’s support as heir apparent.
This novel is the first in a series of paranormal romances, and this was my first experience reading a paranormal romance, so it was interesting to see how the author wove romance into the world of witches and warlocks, shifters and vampires. The romance is easily followed with the added twist of paranormal powers at play that add the complications and tensions one anticipates in the path of love. It was also interesting to recognize the human prejudices and conflicts of race, gender, religion and sexual orientation morphed into the interaction and encounters of the world of magic and paranormal powers. I was engaged by the characters and their challenges to find the true culprit in the killing spree. I am eager to see how the rest of the series plays out!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Caleb Beaufort-Lowe senses the powerful magic of the witch priestess moving through the crowds at the airport. Not only his lion, but his human form, was responding strongly to her entrancing scent. His sole purpose here at Sidlow Springs Airport is to protect the witch that the Vale Witches have sent to investigate the mauling murder of a number of their witches within Caleb’s territory. He wants to make sure no more are harmed. As a royal, he is known to have perfect control over his shifts – yet right now, his body is reacting -- teeth elongating, eyes golden temperature rising -- and he feels the shift coming on as if he were a mere lovesick cub! Fortunately, he and his older brother have a psychic mental connection and Trey teases him out of it before he tries to claim the woman!
As Caleb watches the beautiful witch, something in the surroundings feels off. There are fewer tourists, but it seems unnaturally quiet to him. Then he spots the vampire! Kaiser, a warlock, council negotiator, and family friend, had reluctantly allowed Caleb to escort the witch to her hotel. But now Caleb tells his brother Trey to follow and escort her while he takes care of the vampire who is not authorized to enter this area. He knows Kaiser will be furious about the change in plans. But why is the vampire out in broad daylight? And why, even away from the witch’s scent, does Caleb’s restless lion wants to turn and follow her even though they only saw her for the first time this morning!
Despite Caleb’s vigilance, Haile Summers is kidnapped by a vampire. When Caleb uses a lion shifter salve to heal her wounds, she has a bad reaction that leads to some big complications that will put her into the hands of a killer! Will the two of them find out they are mates? Will Caleb give up his Alpha role as next leader of his pride by taking a witch mate? Will he be able to save Haile when the actual killer finally captures her?
I love mysteries, and this book merges that love with shifters and the paranormal! What a fantastic combination! There will be twists and turns, lots of action, and major surprises all the way. You’re going to love this one!
Fantastic story line, great world-building and outstanding characters! This story is fast paced from page one!
Haile is a witch that was sent to investigate the murders of fellow witches. Since her magic isn't very strong, she is supposed to me a warlock, Kai, and another witch in a couple days. The power of three will help them to solve the case. When Kai doesn't show up at the airport, she takes a cab to the hotel they are supposed to meet at. In route, she reads some of the notes, and decides to go to the last couple scenes. She sees a grainy black and white picture of the main suspect, Caleb, who is a lion shifter. They are always after the next rut and feel entitled to have more than one female. Not what she is interested in. When she gets back into her ride, it seems the driver is more erratic than ever, only to realize it isn't the same driver, it is a vampire with his tongue ripped out. He is trying to kill her or something so she smashes the window to try to get out, when she sees a guy on a motorcycle outside trying to get her to come to him.
Caleb, heir to the lion pride, is suspect in some recent witch murders in town. He has a little history with losing control of his lion, but he had lost his mate and there were vampires involved, so he lost it! Now his father won't allow him to ascend unless he has a mate, but he is also under investigation for murder. He is helping his friend Kai, a warlock, with protection duty on a witch that is coming into town. He is instantly attracted to her and almost shifted in the middle of the airport. With his brother's help, they follow her. She is supposed to be going to the hotel where his friend Kai is waiting for her, but her cab was taking some other route. When his brother, Trey, loses her, then finds her, she is in deep trouble. Caleb rescues her from the cab and takes her to his place to treat her wounds. She reacts strangly to the ointment he uses and they almost, well they didn't.

Royally Charmed is the first book in a new series. That's super important because this book do NOT tie up loose ends. This is an introduction to the world and the main characters, Caleb and Haile. Caleb is accused of murdering multiple witches and Haile comes to town to look into the murders. Caleb is immediately attracted to Haile but he fights it. Caleb is destined to be the next leader of the lion shifters but he has had some issues in the past that he needs to overcome to make people want him on the throne. There is some intrigue in the book surrounding the "bad guy". I am assuming that the intrigue will be solved in the next book. (Did you see how I didn't give any details? It's hard to review and avoid details!)
This book had an insta-love story and I don't like those so that was a tough thing to overcome. What I did like was that this is a whole universe. I look forward to reading the next story to learn more about Caleb and Haile and their world.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first book in a new series. Caleb is the heir to the throne because his older brother isn't able to shift in to his lion. Caleb is also accused of murder after a woman went missing and he was the last person to see her. There have been a string of murders if witches and Caleb is the prime suspect. When Haile is a witch and is sent to investigate the murders along with the warlock Kai and her aunt. Caleb arranges to go to see Haile at the airport and his lion wants to claim her as his own, but Caleb is more interested in clearing his name. Caleb relies on his brother Trey for help when a vampire shows up and targets Haile. When Caleb rescues Haile from the vampire, she thinks he is Kai and together they work to solve the crime. I liked this book, i liked Caleb and thought he really did care for Haile. I will be reading the next book in this series.
Royally Charmed is the first in the series. I loved the characters, they were completely captivating and the story had me hooked. I don't read very many shifter books but I enjoyed how this one was set-up. The description of the lion inside trying to get out was well done. I want to know more about this world with vampires, witches, warlocks and shifters.
There are quite a few loose ends and the story felt unfinished because of that. The characters do get a happy but it's not closed enough for me to call it a HEA. I will most definitely be continuing with this series as I can't wait to see what happens!
I received an advanced copy of this story via BookSprout and am leaving a voluntary honest review.
Haile is a witch and is going to investigate a murder, no sooner does she leave the airport she realizes there's more to the story that meets the eye. Having the cab driver take her to the crime scene she decides she seen enough and gets back into the cab to realize its a vampire. One trying to kill her and a motorcyclist trying to help her. She takes the leap of faith out the back window and jumps on the motorcycle then they are speeding away. At each turn Haile thinks she's with a warlock and from it. From going back to the crime scene and getting her belongings out of the cab. For Haile and Caleb its never a dull moment and in the end Haile learns more than she ever could and gets the HEA.
Four and half stars. This is the first book I have read by this author. This is a shifter romance. Intrigue, suspense, mystery, murder, lions, witches, and trying to stay alive all make for an interesting read. I read this book in one day. Caleb is heir to the Lion Throne. He can have any lioness that he wants; however, he cannot have a human. His lion doesn't get the memo. He wants Haile, a human. She is investigating crimes of mutilated witches. She gets in over her head. She needs Caleb's help and together they find the murderer. Great read. Interesting characters with chemistry. Love Haile character. She is fiesty and keeps Caleb on his toes. This is a good shifter book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I got shifters, witches and vampire in this book. I wasn't sure if this would be a good story but it ended up being a great story. From brothers turning on brothers, kidnapping, deceitfulness and love. The book starts off with Haile trying to find out why the witches were being killed. Caleb a lion shifter goes to the airport to meet Haile. While he is there he see's a vampire. Vampire don't come out in the daylight so I am going to assume its a daywalker. This book was a page tuner for me. I wanted to know what would happen next. Would they solve the case of why witches were being murder. Would Caleb get his woman. Was his father mad at him for not bring Haile to him.
