The story's about Cooper and Harley.

I liked the story. It may not be safe for others though. But since what she did was only between the two of them, it's still safe for me. I'd like it more if it's not only her who's always the one who made the move and initiated things between them.

The last two chapters were the epilogues. Married with twins.

Abuse: She's had enough waiting for him to make a move. She drugged him and tied his hand to the headboard with his handcuff. She waited for him to wake up and when he woke up, he told her to take it slow, to do it right and to let him take her out but she's not waiting any longer. He was not forced.
Push and Pull: He found out how old she was and decided to leave to give her time. He said he wanted to ask her out so many times but seeing her so wrapped up in him was too much fun for him. I didn't like that he thought it that way though.
Separation: A few years when he enrolled to the police academy and left. There's no one else for them.
Virgin/Celibate/Manwhore: Both virgins.
Condoms: No condom used.

I’ve been binging on Shaw Hart books lately and I’ve really liked what I have read. That being said what Harley did to Cooper was just icky. I didn’t think it was romantic or funny, personally

-no cheating
-no ow/om drama
-4 year separation
-neither with others after meeting
-ok epilogue

Everything was going fine until the heroine pretty much starts having sex with the hero without preamble. There were grammar errors and writing stuff that I chose to overlook, but otherwise it was fine. But yes, she drugs him and handcuffs him to her bed naked, and then she lowers herself to his penis and starts having sex with him even after he tells her that he doesn’t want to do it while he’s being handcuffed. I understand that the author wanted to flip the trope but consent goes in every way. Other than that being the most disturbing issue, it was an okay and fast read. It actually could’ve been gay, the heroine had a best friend and they seemed to have even more chemistry than she and the hero.

they both pin for each other but they never make a move..
this h gets so desperate for him that instead of trying to seduce him like a normal person she freaking drugs him to make him sleepy, cuffs him to the bed and once he wakes NAKED, she just start having sex with him, while he said that he doesn't want it like that for their first time.
You know what? pathetic.
Also then he will stay as at home dad and let go of his carrier of sheriff to let her do the bakery thing.
What so ever, i got annoyed by her.

Plus I like my dudes ALPHA and this book ends with the H as a stay at home dad. That on top of the fact he never-- not once, pursues her in this entire book... killed it for me. Pass.

she drugs him and handcuffs him to the bed. when he wakes up they have sex more as he tells her to stop one time she continues even when he says he didn’t want to take her like this. not exactly my style for how i like the first time to be:(

no OW/OM drama just a one sentence mention of the heroine being jealous because a group of girls came to welcome the hero back to town
no condoms or birth control

I wanted to like this.

I really really did want to like this story. I was intrigued by the blurb and even bought it because it wasn’t on KU. I was disappointed.

I get him not asking her out when she’s 14 and he’s almost 18. But then he leaves for years, saves himself for her, comes back… and doesn’t ask her out. No reason, he just likes torturing her or something. It’s kind of infuriating.

She gets so desperate she drugs and handcuffs him to the bed before basically SAing him. I just… naw I can’t.

This book was not not for me at all.

Crazy how much my feelings can change in the span of <2 years. I have read some dark romances that would make the Devil’s toes curls… both with male and female aggressors. This was light in comparison. A cute QUICK read

If I could give this book no stars I would. I LOVE dark romances, and that being said… I love consent even more doesn’t matter how it finished or how it progressed, she was ready and willing to RAPE the H, and I guess just because they both “love” each other it is ok. That’s a helluva message to send. Not planning on reading the next book in the series even though I was excited about it because two dumbasses that think sleeping pills is a form of fighting for love can kiss my ass, and I mean this review with all due DISRESPECT.

SN: she did wait for him to wake, but waiting for your date rape victim to be lucid before getting started DOES NOT MATTER

Her Obsession is an instalove and a friend's to lovers /second chance romance. Well kinda... I'm not really sure what category I would put it in. Either way it's a cute little story. I love that the heroine knew exactly what she wanted and wasn't afraid to get it! A very happily ever after. I'm hoping that we getting Payton's story next.

Dual virgin with no cheating or no ow/om drama and HEA gets ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

This is my first time selecting this author independently. I usually don't read her books. So that might be the reason why I didn't like her writing much. It was in first person dual pov, but there was a lot about what's going around them rather than them having conversations.
Maybe it will take me some to get used to that.

Now about the story. It was okay. The storyline was great. But I would have loved a little more of angst. I don't mean full-on drama. More like the h being a bit uncertain and H being a bit more possessive. It's not like you go every day spiking people's drinks to have sex.

I didn't feel their passion. It didn't give "a new couple who have been pinning over each other for years." It was more like a married couple vibe. Not bad but the tone didn't match the genre.

Anyways I will be reading more from this author. If anybody have any suggestions please let me know.

Also there is a book by alexa riley with same idea and it's very well done. So if anyone is interested go check that out. It's called TAKING WHAT'S HERS .

So, you know how everybody has that one crush but to afraid to do anything about it.. Well this story is something like that and much more.. Harley has a crush on the new kid.. He is 17 years old and she is only 14 years old.. His name is Cooper.. From the moment that Cooper showed up in her class she could only see herself with him... But the AWESOME part is that Cooper wants to be with her too but he is a few years older than so when he graduate, he went to the police academy in Charleston.. He couldn't handle seeing her walk around in her 2 piece so, he went ahead and left for the academy.. He had came back for Thanksgiving and he seen her and she acted like he didn't even he didn't exist...

The story gets better and better.. SUCH AN AMAZING STORY

Harley has been in love with Cooper since she was 14 and he was 17. Unfortunately, he left to complete Police academy and for 3 years she didn't see him. But he is back in town and has been elected the new Sheriff and he is going nowhere soon and Harley is done been patient. She is taking control of her destiny and is going after her man. It was a ok read.

A tad disappointing!
Harley and Peyton are best friends and own a cafe/bakery together. Harley has a huge crush on Cooper Thomas , the town sheriff.
Harley has been waiting a long time for Cooper to make his move. So she steals his handcuffs, drugs him and makes a move of her own. Instead of a down and dirty evening, Harley just may be spending the night in jail!!!!

I liked this story. It was entertaining. I did quite a bit of smiling. Not sure about Harley taking things into her own hands but it worked out. Cooper seemed just a tad ornery with his - I can’t wait to see what she does next. I liked how the story ended. I recommend giving this book a chance and deciding for yourself if you like it.

Overall all pretty good but comes with a big trigger warning (heroine drugs hero - but he doesn’t mind). Definitely treading into stalker/dark romance. Heroine is more of the jealous take charge character. Interesting to read something from the typically alpha MMC.

Good Story
