Cait I am many things, but a supernatural being is not one of them. At least not until a crescent mark appears on my wrist and everything changes. I’ve been marked by a wolf goddess, yet no one knows what that means, myself included.
On top of that, I find out my best friend is a wolf shifter and her pack alpha is my supposed mate. Just like that my future is decided—unless I find a way out.
Roman When fate sends a human mate my way, I’m certain it has to be a mistake. An alpha is supposed to have an equal at his side. Cait might be strong in her own ways, but what she is makes her an easy target in my world.
Regardless, Cait is mine to protect and I have every intention of showing her this is where she belongs—in my pack, by my side.
This is a dual POV wolf shifter series. It features a strong willed, not-so-human leading lady and a fierce yet loyal alpha who is determined to win her heart—no matter how many times she might reject him. If you love slow burn Paranormal Romance books, then be ready to devour this new series!

I loved Roman, the male lead. The story itself was decent but had one flaw that knocked off 2.5 stars for me. The female lead, Cait. Im lenient of whining to a point but it NEVER stopped for her. She was so rude to Roman the entire time. (When he was nothing but accommodating to her wants) all the time spent with her internal whiney dialogue, she never once tried to communicate her real problem with it all. I think the author was trying to do the "stubborn = feisty/strong" but it was just cringey and annoying.
Seems like every book I read lately has some sort of baggage with me. This one is also one of those. I swear I picked this book up sometime in 2021 or 2022. I ended up getting around a 1/3 of the way into it and then proceeded to be bored out of my mind with it. So I put it away for later and here we are a year+ later. #Oops
So this one was just an okay read bordering on meh. The heroine started out great but seemingly devolved into a whiny brat who came to the most ridiculous conclusions. I understand not wanting to jump into a bonding with a guy who she doesn't know and have her worldview shattered all at the same time but come on! Considering how he acted after the initial conflict was cleared up she could have given him a chance. He was nice and sweet and emotionally available. Frankly, it seemed like she was only against the whole idea because it wasn't her idea first. She kept going on and on about how fate was pushing something on her that she didn't want but then would proceed to lust after and get bothered over even getting a wif of Roman. I call b*llsh*t.
Again, Roman was initially very standoffish because he thought someone was setting a trap for him. Considering who he is and his position in the pack it isn't unrealistic. After things were cleared up he made it his mission and try and be there for her. He helped her in her times of illness. He had a caveman-like way of showing affection but it was there. I'm of the mind that he deserves better and after what happened in the end she can get herself out of this one since she's so against fate "messing" with her life.
Overall, I think the heroine should have gotten her head out of her *ss and that Roman deserves better. The ending just made me angry. Now she's missing and poor Roman is going to be going out of his mind for someone who has told him *to his face* that she doesn't want him. I know I'm being overly harsh on the heroine and I think it's because for some reason her actions got under my skin. They annoyed me so greatly (considering I read and reread chunks of this book over the years) I just feel meh about everything. I may or may not pick up the next book. We'll see how I feel after I calm down.
Surprising little read popped up on my Kindle rec's....thank you Kindle!
World build was a solid. Falls along the lines of most shifter related genre's. Renee tweaked it a bit with the Luna Mark (still very mysterious and unknown). No issues here at all.
Storyline is intriguing. We are left with many unanswered questions at the end of book 1. Oddly enough those unanswered questions leave the storyline in the balance for me....I am not sure where we are headed but I am hooked.
Cait started out strong, but she ended reminding me of a stubborn mule. Just determined to not do what is best and would bring her the most happiness because she did not discover it on her own. She felt the entire book that fate was forcing her. I mean if I had a man that made me feel safe cherished and loved I would thank fate, but no she rejects it. Leaving me shaking my head.
Roman at first believes this is a witches trick to ensnare him. Quickly he realizes he is wrong and begins his efforts (weak efforts) to gain Cait's trust and love in return. He plays the whole if you love them let them go thing.....and yeah that ends bad.
Great start to a series! I am hooked and heading for book 2!
What I liked: The only thing I liked was the author included a graphic rendering of the main character before one of the chapters that i thought was fun and unique
What I didn't like: 1. I really just didn't like any of the characters. The MFC was so negative and just really really bland. The only character that had any sort of personality was Vaughn. 2. The storyline was boring 3. There was no chemistry between the Mmc and MFC 4. Why did I finish? I guess I wanted to know what being luna marked meant ... We did not get this answer.
I've admittedly been getting more into trilogies for these paranormal stories but I still can't count myself a big fan of them. As much as I hate not to finish a story there are many trilogies that I end up not finishing and I think this will end up being one of them. The concept was good and I didn't have any big issues with it but overall it all felt very lackluster. For being a trilogy there wasn't a lot of time spent on world building and honestly there didn't seem to need to be a lot of time for it but then without it there also didn't seem to be a reason why the story was so drawn out. Between books 1 and 2 I couldn't see anything that stuck out and gave a reason as to why the events that occurred between the two books couldn't happen in one. So I'll chalk this up to being a me issue since again, I'm not a super big fan of trilogies.
Wolf Kissed is the first book in the Luna Marked series. In this, you will meet Cait and Roman. In the beginning, things were intense and awkward on the sunny beaches of Australia. She thought he was a creep with amazing abs and muscles. He wanted to know what games she was really playing.
So, when they both show up on his pack lands in Texas it's safe to assume their reactions are fully surprised. She is definitely thrown into a world she knew as make believe and he's still trying to figure out what she really is. Throw in being mates on top of all that and it's a hot mess. One that was very hard to look away from.
The only thing I really liked about this book was how fast the pace was. I do think the drama and her constant whining was annoying though. Hopefully things change in the next book since she was an idiot and got herself kidnapped. I'm also wondering if someone in his pack helped plan this little thing and betrayed him.
In the end, I definitely need answers so I will jump in the sequel now.
1.29 Meh stars. The concept was good, but everything else like characterization, dialogue, plot...sucked.
The chapters never seemed to end on a climax or a big reveal so it felt like there was nothing plot-wise moving the story along. I thought the whole "grandpa hates the pack" thing would've been leveraged more, but that ending was a bit of a wild curve ball. And not like a "wow, I didn't see that coming", but more like a "wow, that was set up very last minute..."
“She [Embry] yanked the curtain back, scaring the hell out of me. “Because you’ve only been here a couple days. It will get easier to adjust as time goes by.” “And if I don’t?” I asked, watching her face closely.”
I get tired of "heroines" like this. They are senselessly fighting against the forces that are dragging them into a new world or area of thought. Instead, why not ask better questions or actually try to leave instead of blowing smoke all the time?
Cait's whole argument to not embrace her circumstances was she wanted her iNdEpEnDeNcE when no one was forcing her to do anything to begin with. And every time Embry countered her argument with facts or observations, Cait always copped out with "It’s just been a long few days." and she always wrote off the relationship with Roman like, "...I didn’t know what was real or fabricated."
Am I to really believe this is a girl who has traveled the world?
"Taking the nanny gig here was something I had done on a whim in hopes of finding myself again after having spent the last couple of years traveling around the world without a plan."
How is it that this girl can cross international borders on a whim, but she can't embrace a new culture (wolf pack)? As the kids would say today: that's cap.
I wish we would've actually been able to learn more about the wolf culture in this book through experience and not just Roman/Embry spouting something off. It felt like she hid from the pack in the cabin all the time. HOW BORING! And she was scared to see someone shift? She's such a lame main character because she doesn't DO ANYTHING!
I think there is something incomplete with the character-building in this book because you don't have someone as obtuse and close-minded as Cait plopped into a brand new world like this, who met her "best friend" online, not be open to a little bit of the peculiar. It just doesn't fit.
"Roman, I can’t be your mate. My mind and heart don’t work like yours. I’m not okay with having my future chosen for me."
oH pULEASE..give me a break...somebody call the WAH-bulance. Stupid.
"Clean break, Cait. I’m an all-in kind of person. I would have given you all the time you needed, but you made your point clear. We are not going to be mates. The pull we have will fade over time, and that will be that. I’ll keep my distance to make things easier for you, and I ask that you do the same for me."
^This is a true man. He's honest, makes a decision, executes it, and doesn't let some indecisive, hot-then-cold female continue to mess with his emotions. Roman deserves better than Cait. I don't care what kind of SuPeRnAtUrAl energy she's got. She's boring, has lame arguments, and her newly formed powers are the ONLY thing interesting about her.
I could say a lot more, but I think I'll leave it at that. Needless to say I won't be continuing the series. Onto the next book!
So this was originally on my tbr list. I wanted a shifter read And got this as a recommendation. It did not disappoint!
I really enjoyed it. Cait didn’t just accept she was ‘something else’ and she was someone’s mate. She acted the same way everyone should. ‘Hold on what the actual’ and ‘no I’m not being mated I don’t even understand’ And that was so good every fantasy book most fmc just settle that yup that’s my mate and fall madly in love.
She’s sassy, and has her own mind and I love her as a character.
Roman again wasn’t the typical wolf shifter he told her if that’s what she wants that’s ok and let her go. Now in most mates books the man’s very much ‘no your mine you will love me’
Thus gives them such a beautiful start so then if anything does happen it’s organic
Congrats on getting something like mates and giveing the character a complete realistic reaction!
I like my alphas fierce and respected. Neither of which happens in this story. Cait a very immature woman gets a mark. Tells her only long distance friend, whom she's never met, about it. Flies to said friend (Ember) who is in distress but gives her no details. Cait doesn't ask for details either and by now I'm thinking she's weird and clueless. She lands in a wolf pack as fated mate to the alpha. Ember not only butts in but she is almost controlling and completely disrespects her alpha. Why have an alpha in a story if everyone walks all over him and he caves. Seriously lost my respect for his part in this book. Cait has so many red flags thrown at her about her well being but like a petulant child she can only focus on losing her choice in mating. She never tries to grasp the truths surrounding her and is ugly to most everyone.
So you may have noticed last week I shared the cover reveal for this book...and dang is it good! It's the kind of book that'll keep you turning those pages...will have you craving more and you're just there for the ride. Waiting to see where it'll lead. I honestly, felt like Belle being all wrapped up in her bookish world. Seeya reality and hello my fictional escape. Because that's exactly what this book will do for you.
Gah, I seriously loved a lot about this book. I really enjoyed the uniqueness of this new series that Heather is weaving. I'm trying to think back over all the wolf shifter books I've read, and I can't actually recall one where there was like a moon goddess, that blessed them with their wolf soul. And especially not one where the wolf was, for lack of a better word, reincarnated - by this I mean the wolf souls have had multiple wolf cycles/lives prior. Which is such a unique twist in this sort of world, in my opinion. So I truly loved that spin. But, well, everything about this story was fantastic...so,
Seriously, though Heather knows how to write her books and construct her worlds. It's always an incredible journey that she takes me on...and grr those annoying ends! I've definitely read worse cliffy's but it definitely goes out making a pretty big exclamation...and I'm just like, "umm no...fix this now!" It's still messing with my head...gah, I need me some answers, something fierce! Like what is happening?! No this is not okay! Heather has a masters degree in knowing how to mess with my head lol. Just sayin'.
Nah, just kidding, go for it. I give you my full permission to mess with my head however you please. Simply because you just do it so well. (Does that mean I may need some therapy? eh probably but whatevs lol 🤷🏻♀️😆 - who needs that when they have books?)
Anyways, anyways. I seriously loved this book and I can't wait for you all to read it! I love this world, the characters, the developing story. There's just something about how Heather gets everything to come together. She's truly incredible. The characters she writes always feel so real and relatable. Which is exactly what people look for in books. They want relatable content, people they can easily connect to...because it's all part of making that perfect readers experience. No one wants to read characters that just don't seem realistic.
Good thing that's not something you have to worry about with Heather. She writes her characters so well...to the point you're certain they're just going to walk through your door, at any given moment.
A little about the story. Let's see how I go here. So our girl Cait is just going about her life, a very normal one at that, nannying hellion-toddler twins lol and chillin', on her days off, at Sydney beaches...but that's until this mark appears on her wrist. And no you can't blame Down Under for this one! 😛. You can blame the Moon Goddess. But right after it appears she has this weird encounter with a guy, a really smokin' guy (just sayin' lol 🤷🏻♀️), on the beach...that is asking her weird questions, ones that she has no answers for. And Like any wise person caught in a weird situation, she hightails it out of there.
She begins messaging her bestie about the strange new mark...but is surprised when her friend organises flights out of Australia...and has her legit dropping everything in her life to get to Texas - where said friend is. From here, Cait's life is thrown into upheaval and everything she knew to be real, is whipped out from underneath her. Apparently shifters, magic and other fictional creatures, she'd only ever read about are real. Who'd have guessed? And her best friend is apparently very much a part of this world, a shifter. Now Cait has found herself right in the middle of it all...she is now more than just a human, a girl marked by the shifters Wolf Goddess. And of course, nobody knows much about it. Or what that means for her.
And if that wasn't enough for her to process...when she reaches Texas he is there...the guy from the beach! And he's kinda the Alpha....and she's somehow his fated mate. Coz why not? But man, you definitely can't deny the chemistry between these two. Even if Cait is having a hard time wrapping her head around it. Trying to understand the magic behind the bond. But she tries to fight the pull and feeling of him. That feeling of completing a part of her, she never knew was there, waiting for him. And because of this, she's definitely being a little stubborn too lol...which I automatically was like...
Because I'm totally with Roman on this. The more you refuse, the more I'm like, "mm-hmm I know you like him girl. You ain't throwing me off that easily."
..."I don’t know why I reacted like that.” I grinned, unable to help myself. “Because you like me.” She glared at me. “No, I don’t.” “Your denial will just make it that much sweeter when you finally admit it.” I was unsure why I was taunting her, but it felt right.
Honestly, I just love Roman's personality. It was so awesome being able to be in his head too. to see how he was thinking and feeling, throughout the story. Although he's a more tortured soul, guilty of his past actions. He is exactly the kind of Alpha that puts his pack first...and will protect them no matter the cost. And he is just so swoon-worthy, patient and understanding with our girl. And he completely owns my heart now. So have fun guys with the dual POV coz it was
I think the thing I loved the most in this book, was definitely the friendships. They were just awesome. I can't wait to see more of the old and new relationships, as they grow through all the obstacles, that are sure to be in the way. But I just love that Cait is finally getting more people in her life that will protect and love her because she needs that. She's been alone far too long.
if I have any thing to do with it lol
Lol, I do have to say though, that when I first started reading this book...I was like "Jordan is that you? Do you have a double?" lol. If you've ever read Of Dreams and Sorcery you'll know what I'm talking about. Cait's BFF, Embry, seriously gives off some serious Jordan vibes. Which is awesome because I love Jordan. So yes, I adore Embry too naturally! And the friendship between Cait and her. #friendshipgoals.
There was just something so awesome about reading about Embry and Cait's friendship. Like it's not the typical relationship, I suppose, that you see in books. And by that, I mean that prior to everything going crazy in Cait's life, she and her bestie had never met. They were actually online friends and found each other in a book group...which is actually super cool since that's how a number of my friendships have come about. But to see them as they meet for the first time or just being be in the same space as each other, was just something so unique and beautiful.
I really loved Cait's ability to just mostly take all this upheaval with a level head. She is built of tough stuff and is a girl that knows her own mind. She isn't willing for all this craziness to control all her choices. She is determined to walk her path and find her way, to be in control. But certain somebodies having a strong pull on her, and it's getting harder for her to ignore...and it may not be as simple as walking away. As much as she may seek freedom from this crazy...maybe just sometimes destiny has its own plans. And no matter how you try and fight it...it ends up running its course regardless. And if anyone can survive it. It's her and her friends.
Also, I just have to say, I am only sharing Roman with a couple of people. We finally came to an unspoken arrangement. After trying to all stake our claims on him lol. And girls, I came across this ↓ gif and I legit cracked up...doesn't it just seem so fitting to the posts we were sending each other lol? Am I right? Or is that just me? That's always a possibility 😂. But anyone else, HE IS MINE AND I WILL NOT SHARE!(Sorry mum lol I know you taught me to share as a kid...but sometimes too many people is just too many people 🤷🏻♀️😂).
Now go, go and read this awesome book! It'll take you on an awesome journey and will leave you only wanting more. I cannot wait to see the rest of Cait and Roman's journey. Wherever it goes I know I'm gonna love it hard.
I just wanted to make a note here that this book is set in what is called the Mystics and Mayhem world. Heather plans to have a few different stories releasing that will be set here. In fact, she already has one that is a finalised series under this, the Broken Court series. So be sure to check out the Mystics and Mayhem Amazon Page, that was recently created so you can keep up with all the goss. You will also know if it is set in that world, by the "MM" symbol displayed on the book covers.
Thanks once again to the incredible Heather Renee for creating yet another story I love. I cannot wait to see where you take us with this one. But wherever that is, I know it's going to be amazing and tortuous and all the things that make us feel crazy emotions. You are amazing and I just love you and your amazing brain. 🖤

Wolf Kissed is a paranormal romance featuring wolf shifters and true mates. Cait knows nothing of the supernatural world until one day when a mysterious mark appears on her wrist and she's thrust into a wolf pack with a man claiming they're fated to be together. As Cait tries to learn about this new world, enemies lurk in the shadows and someone may be out to take her for themselves.
I didn't really like the main character Cait. I understand that she had a lot put on her in a short time and was trying to adjust to it all, but she whined so much and was rude to pretty much everyone. Poor Roman finds his mate then has to put up with her pushing him away and rejecting him, saying she wished she wasn't marked and plans on leaving ASAP. He has the patience of a saint I swear.
This was fast paced and I liked Roman and his beta Vaughn. They have a cute friendship that's playful but respectful. I hope we learn more about the pack in the next book.
This didn't work for me at all. The FMC, Cait, was fucking exhausting. Like, a giant whiner who was utterly TSTL, and stubborn about all things. Seriously, when she was kidnapped at the end (due to her most recent fucking stupid action) I put down my kindle and clapped. She is such a whining asshole, hopefully the mate she rejected (but stayed in his pack, because of course she wanted to use him for protection... selfish bitch couldn't even have the decency to leave after rejecting him) throws a parade for the kidnapper, rather than trying to get this asshole back.
The tone of the narrative was pretty YA - whiny stubborn shithead who is utterly self absorbed and is positive she knows better than everyone else - which just added to the ugh.
Will not read onward, because I'd just be rooting for Cait to die and Roman to find someone amazing who is actually his true mate, discovering that Cait was just a weird magical blip of garbage and not his mate at all. Which of course won't happen, so I'm bowing out.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I purchased the entire series & I need to stop doing that. This book was 💩crap. I was incredibly bored 🥱 & I will not be continuing the series. Pet peeve: Cliffhanger ending.
I think this could truly have been a bit better. The story is a bit choppy, and the read in its self seems to be way under developed. Besides these issues I might have been able to still get through it if not for our H. I found cait whiny and annoying. She has many freak outs, crying and complaining about everything she learns and just being among the wolves. She constantly complains about not wanting the mark, not wanting to be an animal, let's be honest here! She just doesn't stop complaining and it's what drove me to stopping at 54%. I just couldn't any longer.
This one started off really well. The intrigue, the plot line and the magic sucked me into the story. However, as I read on my interest started to decline…Fast. I really liked Roman and thought he was sweet and treated Cait well. Cait on the other hand was a totally different story. While I can understand her need to be in control of her own life, she became annoying with her constant whining. Plus seeing Roman moping around didn’t help either.
There wasn’t really any chemistry between the MCs and we never find out out what the “Luna Mark” was all about 🤷🏽♀️ I did like Vaughn though. He was fun and snarky and his interactions with Embry (Cait’s BFF) seemed more interesting than whatever was happening with Roman and Cait.
I’ll still read the next one in hopes it would get better. Maybe that one will improve my overall opinion of the series.
CONTENT Romance: Clean/Chaste, Kissing, Innuendo throughout Language: Strong (A few F* bombs), Some crass speech Violence: Mild
A little different to the typical wolf-shifter fantasy books I've read in the past, I actually quite enjoyed it!
The human-not-human luna marked MFC did irritate me at times, wanting to embrace her powers yet not wanting to be supernatural or part of their world.
Overall, it was a solid 3-3.5 stars for me, with enough intrigue and questions left unanswered and a cliffhanger ending that makes me want to read book 2!
Throughout this book I went from being annoyed at Cait to wanting to slap her. If not for Roman I would have DNF it. I could have understood her feeling like her choices were taken from her if she wasn't so selfish about it. She only saw her. side and no one else's. The worst part was she was being an idiot and she knew it but did it anyway. She wanted nothing to do with that life yet she went to the meeting with Kyle, why. In the end I wished he had another mate to choose from. I completely agreed with her last sentence and instead of feeling bad for her I hoped she learned a hard lesson. I have no idea if I'll read the next book because I don't think she deserves him as a mate.
This was not bad, just not to my taste. I did manage to finish it, with only minimal skimming, that says a lot.
For the most part this was really well written. In my 20s I would have loved this. But now, I’m a ‘little’ older 😬 A ‘tiny’ bit wiser, and have a higher expectancy for my stories.
They are so young… The FMC gets told she may get lost in certain areas, and not to knock on strange doors as she could be killed. Her focus is on getting lost…
Later there are discussing a feud and the deaths involved, her focus is on not being involved with the drama of it..
She shrugs of the danger, the violence, and all that, that means. But she stresses over the romance, the drama.. Yeah, that don’t work for me. Sadly however, it is totally believable for the youth of today, who don’t take violence and danger seriously. But do get obsessed with drama and fantasies if romance.
All good. As I said, this will definitely appeal to a younger audience, and even some older, who like to live vicariously, re-living their youth.. # 🤬
Okay, I am going to put this out there first. This review can be taken with a grain of salt. As you can tell from my star rating, I didn't love this one. I think that it is a case of "it's not you, it's me". I normally read a book within a day or two but it took me weeks to read this one. I wasn't very engaged and I honestly don't know if it was the book or because of the stress in my life at the time I was reading it. So there is my disclaimer.
I have to admit that when I picked this up I was extremely eager to read it. I actually really enjoyed the opening of the book. It drew me in and made me want to keep going.
My enjoyment started to taper out a bit the more I kept going. I found some of the circumstances in the book a little too overwhelmingly unbelievable. I know this is fiction but if I have to roll my eyes at the absurdity then I start to lose enjoyment in what I'm reading. I did find Renee's writing to be polished and easy to read but it wasn't very engaging. I thought that some of the ideas that Renee used in the book were fresh and creative but those same ideas are ones that just didn't work for me personally. The logistics of wolf shifters in this story had a creative twist that I can applaud but at the same time, I didn't really care for it. I suppose I like certain aspects of wolf shifters so Renee's take on them just didn't appeal to me. I also wasn't a fan of the type of alpha Roman was. He preferred to keep his pack at arm's length and I just personally prefer an alpha that is enmeshed in the lives of his pack and treats them more like family. It might sound nitpicky but I just know what I like in a shifter story.
The characters in the story didn't really win me over. I felt like Cait was a rather annoying and whiny character with a suitcase full of bad traits that continuously rubbed me the wrong way. Roman wasn't that bad as a whole. I was just put off by the way that he ruled his pack. It made it difficult to connect with his character. Roman's beta was pretty much the only character that I really took to in this book. I kept wanting him to have more page time. Cait's best friend was hard to connect with as well. I really just couldn't get over the background of her friendship with Cait. They were merely online friends until things start happening and then they meet abruptly and their friendship just felt forced. All in all, none of the characters felt like they had much substance. I couldn't form a connection to any of them so the story was hard to get through.
I am kind of indifferent about the romance in the story. The bottom line is that I didn't really feel the chemistry between Roman and Cait. Their mating bond wasn't something that either of them had a choice in and their reactions to it just weren't that compelling to me.
Overall, I definitely think that there are some redeeming qualities in Renee's writing and her creativity is obvious in it. That said, this book just missed the mark for me. I admit that I am interested in where the story is going and I might just continue on with the series to satisfy my curiosity.
This was a really fun and easy read that I enjoyed from beginning to end. I'm so glad I waited until all three books were out because it does end on a cliffhanger, and a big one at that.
Overall:
The story was very fleshed out and well written. The world building wasn't a lot but at the same time it was just enough to keep you wanting to read to find out more. I loved all of the characters and the premise.
Characters:
I really loved Cait. I thought she was a really relatable character and she is a fighter which is always the type of MC I gravitate toward when reading books like these. Her and Embry's friendship is my favorite (one to be jealous of). I love the way Heather wrote the conflict in her, I thought it was well done and not overly dramatic as I've seen before.
Roman was dealt a shitty card. Young Alpha, mate is a human (sort of), your pack was threatened by another, so many crappy situations and he seems to handle them well. Especially the rejection. Which honestly? I wish I could have seen more of. Overall I feel like as this story progresses I will grow to enjoy him more. But I do think the angsty attraction between Cait and Roman is fabulously done!
Pace:
Pace was a bit slow for me but not in a bad way. I think what bothered me the most was that nothing really happened. I know the first book is supposed to set up the story, and that makes total sense, but this just felt like a beginning. The big conflict came right as the cliffhanger did and it was rather disappointing. HOWEVER, since I had the second one? I was really fine with it so I didn't take away any stars or anything for it. That and I really do think the story itself was great and I was sucked in from the first few pages.
Overall I give this a 4.5 and can't wait to crack open the next one now! Great job by Heather!!!
Throughly entertaining with non-stop twists that will keep you flipping those pages! Cait and Roman have my heart and I can't wait to see just what happens next! Their undeniable chemistry will leave you angsty and panting for more! This is one unputdownable wolf shifter series that will keep you guessing until it's jaw dropping ending!
Cait is one strong female who knows her own mind and values her choices. Freedom to pave her own destiny is her greatest desire. But there's this strong pull towards Roman who fate has gifted to her. All she wants to do is return that gift. But she's missing out on life's greatest journey with people who will cherish and protect her. I can totally understand her fears, but I'm rooting for Roman to sweep her off her feet and for her to just give in to the feelings she pushes away.
Roman is tortured, but the best alphas are. They face threats head on and protect their pack. They rule justly and with a kind heart. Roman is absolutely addictive and I just want to give him all the hugs! His patience with Cait is phenomenal! Dude needs all the gold stars. But now he's facing his greatest trial and I'm ready to see him take charge and save the day. He's one swoon worthy character!

I love me a shifter book and Wolf Kissed was completely perfect! Heather Renee has an amazing way with her words and her world building is brilliant. Cait and Roman are literally everything. Cait even though she doesn’t fully comprehend everything that is happening she is rolling with the punches and is navigating this new life exceptionally well. Of course she has her moments where she does or says something but who would plus she is a strong independent woman. Roman is heart melting and it helps that he is hot AF too!!! These two together are fire and their chemistry is off the charts! Embry is literally the complete BFF package and I have a complete girl crush I love her so much. All of the secondary characters are amazing and I am seriously hoping we get learn more about them! I was completely grabbed from page one until the very last page where we are left with that WTH cliffy that leaves you like no this cannot be happening are you kidding me…. I need more ASAP. Author Heather Renee will have you all in your feelings through out this entire read. If you love a great Wolf Shifter story then this baby is for you. I 100% recommend grabbing this asap.
Cait is just a single woman temporarily working as a nanny in Australia when she seems to be bitten by something in the water and then meets an obnoxious man wanting to know who she is. When she tells her friend about the bite mark, she is told to meet Embry as soon as possible, catching the flight and drivers sent for her. It seems she has been Luna marked as the fated mate to Embry’s alpha, Roman. The book covers Cait’s learning curve as she finds out about the supernatural world and what it means to be Luna marked, at least as much as anyone knows. There are a lot of interesting characters and the initiation to the new world for Cait is very well done. There is no action, some humour and a hint of romance between Cait and Roman. While I’m not a real fan of the fated mate scenario, this is very well done with the resistance of Cait to the situation. This is a quick, easy read that I thoroughly enjoyed. But this ends on a cliffhanger – grrr. Diving right into the next book.
This is a phenomenal start to a shifter series. If you like intrigue, angst, dominating Alphas, pack turmoil, and indecisive mates- then this is the book for you! I loved Cait and Roman from the start because they were full on unbridled attraction with so much hesitation because well they are fated mates that are complete strangers. And to top it all off, both doubt their instincts to follow their fated destiny. Heather Renee does a wonderful job in knitting this spectacular story, with elements of mystery, bonds of friendship, uncontrollable attraction, so prevalent in shifter pack life. She adds in the pull and push of their feelings towards each other setting us up for a ride of a lifetime and wetting our appetite for more because hello that cliffy at the end was OMG! I cant wait for the next book!!
