This book, along with her other short story collection, have always been front and center on my shelves. My creative writing professor had us read "Tommy Wadell" twice. He used it as a lesson, for the joy of reading a good story, and he told me I should seek out her other stories. She makes great use of the page. Her stories present a brief part of someone's life with a pretty big punch.
