Ayra is the monster that slays monsters¬¬¬—a fate she never wanted. Forced on her by her brother Calder, a man who bit in countless new werewolves to awaken the power of the reaper, she now has no choice.
The responsibility falls on hers. Not only does she have to put down rabid werewolves, but she must stop Calder from exposing them to the world, and thereby risking the annihilation of their kind. But she won't be alone.
Vidar, the crush of her childhood, has returned from Iceland. Trained by monks to help guide and protect her, he insists on traveling with her. But is it her, he wants, or the reaper?
It shouldn't matter, but it does, even as her family promises her to a man she does not love. As they are dragged deeper into a plot involving the fate of the Norse Gods, Vidar is all she can think about.
He deserves a life, a mate, a pack. Ayra only brings death.
If they can't get past their would-have-been romance and focus on the future of their kind, there may be no future…for any of them.

I loved this so much, what a rollercoaster of a read, this is the third book in the series and you can read as stand-alone but I fully recommend reading the first two prior to this to get the best experience fans not missing out on two great books. This is a great read, lovely slow burn romance, fantastic chemistry and characterisation, full of action and an enjoyable story.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
Well, Heather MCCorkle did it again! So, I started reading this book immediately after finishing the first book…Bitten and Beholden. So it’s late and I’m thinking, I’ll just read a few chapters. Next thing I know I’m done and the birds are chirping. I was so immersed I lost track of time. I know I’m a fast reader but this is crazy even for me. (All good things)
This story was just as great as the first. But in this one (imagine with me…close your eyes or don’t, your choice. 😂) that your brother wants to expose your lineage to mankind to start a blood bath. Now as his sister it’s your job to stop it. To protect the secret pretty much putting yourself at odds with your said brother. That’s how it is with Ayra and her brother Calder who thinks he can awaken the power of Reaper. (If you wanna know, read the book.) Then as if things couldn’t get any more complicated let’s add in Vidar her childhood crush and also friend who could have his own purpose while helping her. (Things can never be simple) Besides her family want her to be with a man she doesn’t love. (Complications!)
This is a action packed adventure with preem drama and one hell of a slow burn. I loved the heat and chemistry you could feel radiating off the pages. (🧯🧯)
Do yourself a favor and read the book, you won’t be disappointed!!!!
Well…there’s a third book, sunlight is overrated; right? 😉😂

Book 3 in the series Children of Fenrir. And to be honest, not as much fun as the other two books. Ayra is the one who slays monsters, a role she never wanted, but is forced upon her by her brother Calder. He has bitten numerous people to create werewolves and unleash the power of the reaper. Vidar, her childhood crush is helping her. And there it goes wrong, because most of the attention is laid on his pecs and six-pack. You can only take so much.
A big thank you to NetGalley and City Owl Press for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the third book in a series. I have not read the other books, but I think you need to read them to make sense of what is happening. I couldn't really connect with the story of the characters. 3 stars
