This is the final instalment in the Adler Family series, and boy it doesn’t disappoint. A word of warning for anyone with triggers, this entire series is very, very dark. This book is no exception. This is Derek and Maddie’s story, and if you’ve read each book in order you will enjoy the ending of this one. It holds surprises, but is full on suspense and murderous intent. Even I was taken aback by how dominant Derek could be, some of his actions making me cringe. I love Audrey Rush’s writing style, she really knows how to draw the reader in and keep you there, engrossed to know what’s coming next.

This is the 3rd and final book in the Alder brothers series and I’m sorry to see it end. This is an entertaining and enjoyable read. I would recommend reading these books in order. This story is about Maddie and Derek and it is intense. It’s starts out with a bang and keeps going fast throughout, I couldn’t put it down. I love books like that - that don’t lag. The story starts out with the pair of them having trust issues. Maddie has a secret and she certainly doesn’t trust Derek enough to come clean. Derek doesn’t trust Maddie either, despite the fact that she has worked for the family for years. The Adler brothers hold trust in very high regard and if you muck it up, forget about it. I loved this series and I hate to see it end. I parrot all the other reviewers, please find a way to keep it going - maybe a step family the family knows nothing about - hint

I was so excited to get Derek's story. I wasn't sure how I would feel about him and Maddie, but I loved them together. Maddie had so much more in her background than I expected. She's hiding a couple of secrets. Derek knows she is hiding things and really wants to trust her. Derek is definitely all alpha male, which I absolutely love.

It really is hard to go into details without giving away something. This book touches on so many different things: revenge, trust, loyalty, love, determination...among other things. I also LOVED the epilogue. Such a great way to end this series for everyone.

Dangerous Command is the final story in the Alder brothers trilogy. We meet Maddie in the beginning of the book. She works for the Adler family as a cleaner and from the beginning, I could see the obvious chemistry between her and Derek. When the Adler brothers father is murdered, Derek takes over the family business. He asks Maddie for help to avenge his death but to also find those within their own ranks who are disloyal. Maddie is hiding some skeletons in her closet though. She has secrets that could break the relationship she has with the Adler family. Trust plays a huge part in the final part of this series. Derek trusts no one other than his family and Maddie finds it hard to trust others because of her past. I loved the relationship between Derek and Maddie. They each began to tear down the walls each of them had up and learned to trust each other. Derek is heavy into degradation and the spice between them was off the charts. This book does contain some dark themes and triggers. A full list of triggers can be found on the authors website. I absolutely loved this and highly recommend it, however I would recommend reading Dangerous Deviance and Dangerous Silence before reading this one.

This is the 3rd book in the series and I do recommend reading them in order. Derek’s father is murdered and he becomes the new mob boss. He asks Maddie for help, but she is hiding secrets from him. What will happen when he discovers the truth about her? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and plenty of twists and turns. The chemistry is intense and the story draws you in from beginning to end. I loved it.

In this third installment of the Adler brothers, we finally get the story of Derek, who is the oldest of the three brothers. As the oldest, Derek has been groomed his entire life to one day take over as head of the family. We have seen Maddie, who works as their housekeeper, in the previous books and we finally get to see her history. Trust is a huge issue in this book, Derek doesn't trust anyone except his immediate family and Maddie doesn't trust easily after her past trauma. Maddie and Derek have flirted back and forth some but had never crossed the line before. Maddie has a lot of secrets that she has not shared yet. The story starts off with a bang and never lets up. It is full of suspense.

3.5 stars rated as 4🌟. I needed more....

Dangerous Command it's the third and last installment in The Adler Brothers Series and although this is Derek and Maddie' story, I would recommend for the reader to start with book #1 for a better understanding of the plot and family dynamics.
I was ansiously waiting for this story and it really hurts me to say that, unfortunately, I didn't love it. So much potencial in the beginning and, as the narrative went, it felt flat and, at times, contrived. All the ingredients were there for this tale to be magnificient: the mystery, the eternal trust issues, the circumstance regarding MM (since the 2nd book ended with a BAM!), the restlessness with the continuing traps, the 'cat & mouse' games and, most of all, the secret that would be the cherry on top of the cake. What didn't work for me was my felling that, with all the secrets Mads was carrying, something we start gathering in the beginning, I needed more character development, an emotional load that would make me feel all the rage, the anger, the tension and even the sickness her circumstances justified. I needed intensity. With Derek happened the same, but at a different level: his mind was set on loyalty to the family only and when he was finally able to put himself on other peoples' shoes, it was too sudden, no smooth transition here. In what concerns the storyline itself, some inconsistencies and abrupt behavioral changes, made me confused and a bit stunned (still not able to figure out what was the reason for Maddie to deal with Uncle Ray's corpse...it felt anticlimatic, imo). What I wanted was a 'WHAT THE F.#.C.K.!!!' moment and given how serious and heavy Maddie' secret was and what it meant for her and the ones she protected if discovered, I was hoping for a bomb effect, something utterly unexpected. But, by the middle of the book, I had already figured it out.
On a last word, I can't stress enough the author's ability to write, nothing to point out regarding typos, grammar and sentence structure and even the pace is perfect as well as the plot's originality - compounded by great elements of dark romance (loyalty, trust, deceit, conspiracy and that strong and unfazed will to conquer and dominate it all), this could have been 'IT!', a superb account in the criminal underworld genre -, if it weren't for those situations I referred to above. Nevertheless, an enjoyable read.

Ever since I set my eyes for the first time, upon Derek and Maddie, I knew that had to be something there. The chemistry between them was undeniable.
Since the first book of the series, they shared a connection, the way she was always at ease when he was around her, or the way he looked at her when he though nobody was paying attention. They just gravitated towards the other.

Derek Adler, the oldest of the Adler brothers, the heir, the next in line as the head of the family. He is the most grounded one, you could say that he is the brain while his brothers represent the muscle of the family.
He is cold and calculated, shares the same beliefs as his brothers, he doesn’t trust anybody apart his brothers, and will stop at nothing to protect his family.
But, he also has a soft spot, even though he doesn't want to admit it, and that spot is Maddie, his employe.

Maddie, this vixen with red hair and fire in her eyes, definitely took me by surprise. I had a feeling that she also had some skeletons in her closet, but for sure I was not prepared for that.
I liked her from the very beginning, her energy and attitude, how she tried to never feel intimidated by the Adler brothers, and how she always tried her best.
She is a beautiful, strong and confident woman, who just wants the best for her and her family.

If I really liked the first two books in this series, this one I loved and I really enjoyed reading it.
The writing was so good and on point. The action didn’t feel rushed, the characters well structured.
It gave me so many feels, and also made my question myself and asking what I would do in those circumstances. Also the plot kept me at the edge of my seat, constantly wondering what is going to happen next.
And that cliffhanger was so good, I did not expected that.

The ending was so good and beautiful, it was the perfect one for this series, and it just warmed my heart.

Derek Adler is the heir of the family now that his father has died at the hands of Muro ( this man has more lives than a cat).
He asks Maddie, the girl who has always begin in charge of the cleaning of their messes, to help him locate him, and thus gives him an excuse to see her again, since he has always felt attraction for her.
But Muro is a very dangerous man ( if you have read the other titles in the series you will know to what extent). But in this one no longer has anything to lose and he is even more deadly.
Derek is a man who puts family above all else, and if someone threatens them he is dead.
So when he begins to suspect that Maddie is hiding things from him, he begins to think that he might have to get rid of her too.
Maddie is a survivor and in this book she shows how strong she is.
The relationship between Derek and Maddie is intense and, although I don’t like Derek’s courting and dominance ( he has a kink for degrading women), we can see in the end the sacrifices he is willing to make for her.
It’s a series that I ❤️and an author that has hooked me and I will continue reading more of her books without a doubt.

“I don’t want to fuck you, Maddie. I want to own you. Every inch of you.”

“I’ll protect you, Mads. With my life. And in return, I own you.”

“I’ve never understood my feelings for you. Not since you first walked into my penthouse. I could never decide whether I wanted to fuck your brains out and degrade you like a whore, or keep you around, worshipping you like a queen. But none of that matters now, because what I do know, is that you’re mine, Mads. Whether you like it or not. Whether I like it or not. And I want to protect you. Even the parts of you that you keep away from me. But you have to let me in,” at those words, his voice quieted. “Even if it hurts.”

This is the third book and conclusion to the Adler Brothers. Their family motto is Conquer. Annihilate. Rule. The story takes place shortly after the end of book two, which is not really a cliffhanger but a scene that makes you gasp and desperate to finish the series.

Derek is the oldest of the three brothers (not counting their half-brother Ethan). He's been groomed to take over the family business when their father Gerard retires. In fact, over the course of the books, Derek has been taking over from his father more and more, and is now running the family. We've seen their housekeeper, Maddie, from time to time but now we find out about her history. Under her cool exterior, she's plagued by fear as her past traumas get triggered. Maddie & Derek have flirted with each other but never cross the employer-employee line. In fact, Derek only trusts his immediate family. Maddie doesn’t trust him either, he’s not sure why. There are surprises, secrets, and twists all over the show. I had a sense of confusion-in a good way-about the characters, their growth, and how it was all emerging and evolving. This really was evident in the club scene, where Maddie was objectified by Derek, who pushed a kink without knowing her limits. Why did she like it? Not sure, but she did-that kind of confusion! Loved the conclusion of the series, suspenseful & action packed.

I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.

Derek is the eldest of the Adler brothers, the next in-line to take over the family business, even though he already ran the show, the day he would officially take over was about to come sooner. Maddie had worked for the Adler family for only a short while as a cleaner, her loyality to the family could never be questioned until she vanishes and Derek learns shes been hiding a secret. When tragedy strikes, Derek needs Maddies help in bringing down a dead man, but in doing so will put Maddie in the path of her past. Can Derek get his revenge and keep his family safe including the woman he cant stop thinking about? Even if Maddies secret threatens to tear his world apart? This is book 3 in the Adler brothers series and what a roller coaster ride Derek and Maddie take you on! Derek's always been different from his brothers with more responsibilities on his shoulders he puts family first, he saw how love changed his parents and commands obedience amd trust especially from Maddie who struggle to trust even herself with her secret past for fear it will be her end. This is well written with twist and turns that keep you on your toes, dark and dominating themes, desires, revenge, trust, loyalty and more!

Preparevto lick his boot

This was probably the least dark book I've read by Audrey Rush, but believe me it still packed a wicked punch. Honnestly even if it is classified as an interconnected stand alone, i should have read the others first and will probably go back and do so because this world is enticing.
We are talking mafia boss infatuated with his cleaner who keeps on pushing him away and hidding things from him. The relationship is very lust and hate filled. With degradation kinks, boot licking and other not so sweet moments that are stll delicious.
Please check the trigger warnings. There is mention of domestic abuse, child abuse, rape and honnestly the consent isn't always 100% clear.
I loved the plot it kept you guessing how it would all end, the spice was great and Maddie's growth was perfectly done and so satisfying.
As for the plus size rep. Audrey Rush hit the nail on the head. We get glipses of descriptions about her being plus-size, without other contradicting facts but her size does not affect any of the storyline. She's fat, she has trauma and she has a man obsessed over her thats it no major insecurities, no bullying, just a fat girl in a story like any slimer characters would have.
I love Audrey Rush and if you want a little taste of darkness i encourage you to try her books.

A really great read for mafia lovers

Maddie has worked for the Adler family for a little over a year cleaning their homes and now that they've gotten rid of Miles Muro she is able to celebrate with them and feel a little safer.

Even though their dad was still the boss, Derek was the one who ran their mafia family. Their dad was more interested in his mistress than their business. Wil was in charge of the gambling, Axe was the enforcer and Derek did everything else.

Maddie is keeping a secret from Derek about why she really wants nothing to do with mafia life and she's scared that he's going to hate her for it.

I love this book. I love the whole Adler Brothers series! Audrey Rush doesn't write about the mafia with pretty words. These men are violent and degrade their women even as they worship them. The book is violent, but it is also smoking hot sexy.

The characters have so many layers and they are all pulled back to reveal their true hearts. The storyline may be violent, but it kept me turning pages. I was unable to put this book down and read it straight through.

If you like mafia romance then this is your book. Audrey Rush mafia romances are the best that I've read and I look forward to reading more.

This is a really fascinating dark mafia romance that I definitely enjoyed reading but sadly this is third & final book in the “Adler Brothers” series. It can be read as a standalone although I would suggest reading the series in sequence to fully understand the underlying storyline. I found the plot well-written & filled with just the right amount of suspense & intrigue that definitely kept my attention. The characters (Maddie) & (Derek) are extremely interesting with opposing personalities that were realistically flawed but actually complement each other very well.
There is : the eldest son & heir (Derek Adler) to the Alder mafia syndicate is attracted to his employee (a cleaner, Maddie) but unknown to him she has a few deadly secrets, his deceased father & previous mob boss (Gerald Adler), Derek’s brothers (Will & Axe), a deadly enemy (Muro), various mafia crime syndicates, mystery, alliances, rivalry, action, intrigue, suspense, twist & turns, deceit, betrayal, threats, danger, enemies, devious plans, trust issues, possessiveness, emotional turmoil, vengeful feelings, domination/submission, manipulations, compromises, steamy scenes, happiness, love & a hard-earned, satisfying conclusion.

Well I knew it had to end eventually but I am bereft. What will I do with no more Adlers? I have thoroughly enjoyed all the Dahlia District books and always the Adlers were in the background. Then we had their stories and what stories they were! The final story was thoroughly enjoyable. The characters were unforgetable and who doesn't love a bit of revenge? Derek, as all the Adler men were was a dominating personality but maddie was by his side. Plenty of intrigue, twists and turns and plenty of sexy times. An excellent storyline as per usual with an Audrey Rush story. I am sorry to see an end to this series but I do recommend you read the Dahlia District series and the Adlers, you will not be disappointed. As for me I shall now go into a dark room and mourn the end of these stories. I hope Audrey comes out with another series of integrated stories and characters to bring some sunshine into my poor life!!

Derek Adler and Maddie Vela are possibly the most “traditional” romance Audrey has ever written. Derek is the new Boss of his family’s mafia after the sudden passing of his father. Maddie- the family’s housekeeper and Personal Assistant suddenly disappears, Derek makes it his mission to find out exactly how she may have played a part in this. The third instalment in the Adler brothers series and it is possibly the best one ! Derek gives daddy energy and Maddie is a relatable boss b!tch. It was actually so nice to see a single mother in a dark romance, I feel like that doesn’t get enough recognition. Throughout the other books I felt myself wanting more emotional connection between the characters and I REALLY got that with Derek and Maddie. While the miscommunication between them often had me feeling frustrated, it was really relatable in terms of Maddie’s trauma and played a huge part into their story. He loved her regardless, not despite. Derek is HOT HOT HOT and I would live for 1000000 more cigar and boot scenes if I could get them.

The storyline follows on no long after the last book in the series, love seeing all the main characters from the series pop up in this book too.
The Adler family have another family passing and Derek requests Maddie to ‘clean up’ as she is the only person he trusts. Maddie has not been involved with the family for a while and is trying to leave the mafia life behind her.
The Adler’s have a rat within their wings and everyone is wary of each other, except the brothers with each other.
Derek then convinces Maddie to help him locate Munro as they have heard whispers that he has been seen in towns she has lived in. Maddie finally gives in after a pay increase.
The sexual tension between Maddie and Derek is off the charts.
I honestly loved this book, it’s well written with so many twists. The suspense had my in the edge if my chair and I couldn’t put this book down until the very last word. Sad that this will be the last Adler book, but can’t wait to see what series is next.

I mean hot digging damn!
Let me start off by saying, like I do with EVERY Audrey Rush review, she’s literally one of my favorite authors! I’ll forever read and recommend a Rush book. I’m NEVER disappointed...ever!

Ok to the good stuff,
i’m sad to see the Adlers go, I mean I was sad to see Dahlia District go but the characters and stories are intertwined so perfectly I felt like nothing had ended! This might have been the best wrap up i’ve read in a loooooooooooong time.

Derek and Maddie live in a constant state of on fire, in love-ness and it got me going! Her lies and secrets, his literal need to break down all her wall and defenses to give her the love, loyalty and protection she craved and so desperately needed for her and those around her! The steady battle for power and control! Gah!
I mean, they’re no Wil & Demi but they definitely rocked the pages!

The sex was steamy as all hell and never seemed to let up on the steam!

Another 5 stars for Miss Rush

This is the last in the Adler brother series and what an enjoyable series it’s been.
This is Derek and Maddies story, Derek is the eldest brother and after the tragedy that happened in the previous book he is now the head of the Mafia which comes with huge responsibilities, we’ve met Maddie in the previous books as she has worked for the Adlers for years as their cleaner.
Maddie has secrets which I must admit I didn’t see coming, Derek wants revenge on a dead man but also needs Maddies help and to keep her from harms way at the same time.
I really enjoyed the story and I’m sad the series has come to an end, the whole series has been well written and have kept you on your toes, although this is a stand-alone story I suggest you read all the books in the series as they are fab.
I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

Finally we get Derek & Maddie's story they've skirting around each other flirting but never step over the line of employee & employer she's worked for the Alder's for a short time but her loyalty never in question but she is hiding dark secrets from a traumatic past.
Derek Adler now boss after the murder of his father Gerard by Muro he asks for Maddie's help to find him it'll give him more time to spend with her he knows Muro is a very dangerous man.
Maddie is worried if her secrets come out it'll destroy her & Derek their story takes you on quite the rollercoaster ride will they get a HEA the ending will surprise you.
Its definitely a must have book it won't disappoint I thoroughly enjoyed the conclusion to this well written series sorry it's done can't wait to see what Audrey Rush does next.

DARK COMMAND continued the story of the Adler vs Muro empires started in Fangerous Silence. It was not much like Dangerous Silence in it’s atmosphere or darkness, though.

Maddie, a former cleaner, is going with Derek, the new Adler mafia boss, to expose or locate what is left of the Muro empire and any remaining disloyal members in the Adler ranks.

But while Derek wants to have Maddie and keep her safe he can’t trust her. She has disappeared, kept secrets, and deceived him about her background. She has her reasons, but both Derek and I figured out what she was hiding before she was willing to reveal it herself. Neither of us are sure why she felt keeping these secrets would help more than harm.

If you like your mafia stories mostly consisting of secrets, danger and suspense, you will like DANGEROUS COMMAND.

Third book in the Adler series. I have to admit I’m confused at all the 5 star reviews.

Ok, upfront I didn’t enjoy this. I was hoping since Derek already knew Maddie that their relationship might be less dark than the previous book. It was, but not by much. Romance is primarily read by woman and I find it hard to understand the authors choices in this series. I don’t find men using and treating women in a derogatory fashion at all sexy. It’s not the trope either as I have read dark mafia romances before and loved them. The difference being is in those the H protects his h. To enjoy a book I need a connection between the couple, whether it be sexual or emotional.
Besides the horrendous characters, Audrey Rush writes a good plot. Her pacing is good and the revenge story worked. Please next time give me some characters I can love.

This is the final installment in the Adler series. Derek has been groomed from a young age to run the family mafia business. Loyalty to the family is all he knows until Maddie. Madison “Maddie” is a house cleaner, circumstance has made her private about her life. Maddie has been fighting feelings/attraction for Derek because the secret she’s hiding could lead to her death.

I got to the middle of the book and started rolling my eyes and wanted to knock Maddie upside her head. I loved the dynamic between them the two. I can’t say more for fear of spoiler but it’s definitely a wonderful ending to the series.

Final book in a three book series but you don't have to read all three, the more you read the better. I finished book two, Dangerous Silence and could not wait to read this book. It was as amazing as book two was. In Dangerous Command we are reading Derek and Maddie's story. This story can be pretty rough in some parts and mafia stories can be sugarcoated or brutal. Audrey Rush is a master of this genre and the book certainly did not disappoint. Follow Derek on his hunt to kill the man that is their enemy and learn Maddie's secret. I loved the two books I read and am certainly going to buy book one to read the beginning.

Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were interesting. This story was about Maddison and Derek. Derek has been trained in the family business since he was a little boy, his father died so he has stepped into his fathers shoes and took over the family business. Derek needs loyalty, trust and support. Maddie is a cleaner for the family and a female that chemistry could not denie how they feel about each other, it is the secrets, trust, loyalty and her walls are up. Can Derek win her over, break down her walls, open up so there is no secrets. Can they both come to trust each other.

First of all, thank you Audrey for the body positivity! He was positively drooling and lusting over her, and she was described as obviously not a small woman. I loved this, her being the heroine in burgundy lingerie doing dirty, nasty things with a sexy mob boss. Now not everything in this was my cup of tea, it was certainly dark, degrading, haunting and many other adjectives throughout this story, yet Audrey can weave these words together and cast a spell that forces you to keep taking whatever she dishes out until every last spoonful is licked clean, or is that boot-bottom? Regardless, The villain is defeated, life is moving on, and the nightmare is over. Goodbye Adlers, you will be missed!

This story follows an intense dark romance between Mads and Derek. I was quite addicted to this plot as I connected so much to Maddie’s character. I enjoyed seeing the continuing bonding between Derek and his brothers. The added information of the brother’s relationships was really great.
The chemistry between Mads and Derek was amazing. Yet again we got to take a peak into the twisted mind of Audrey Rush and benefit from her imagination. I loved the many plot twists that she added into this book and would definitely recommend it to those who love dark romances!

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book is the conclusion to the Adler Brothers series. Derek is now the head of the family and Maddie was always a loyal employee. This is their complicated love story that they have been dancing about. It is full of family, drama, secrets, danger and a couple of extra twists and turns. These two were meant to be together there were just several things in their way, including trust. This was a great way to finish up their story
