a divergence from my tried and true, dramione fic, to a minister of magic hermione x head auror harry one. aged up harry and hermione (late 30s) + harry raised teddy. a fun read. draco and hermione are friends.
side note: I physically cannot rate a fanfic below 4 stars because these peeps be putting in the work for free, and I appreciate it immensely. Also they do be writing some entertaining and enjoyable books.

I'd never thought I would read a Harmony, but here we go.
Flash-forward to the future, Hermione Granger is the current Minister of Magic and Harry Potter is Head of Aurors. Ron Weasley is living the life of a married working man, the only one of the three who still manages to share a relationship with the rest. The truth is that the Golden Trio's friendship is quite lacking on Harry and Hermione's side.
The blurb for this fanfic is a tad short, but the plot focuses on these two characters, and that after an attempt on Hermione's life is made, she is forced to have a more intense security detail, which involves an officer at her side 24/7. And who better than the Chosen One himself, Head of Aurors Harry Potter? And thus, a story filled with angst, passive aggressive comments and a whole lot of tension ensues.
I do have to admit that I liked this story very much, the character dynamics felt so real I almost saw sparks fly!! We see a bit of Harry and Hermione's past, specially the hows and whys as to their estrangement, and on top of that, butting heads at every Ministry meeting.
The story progressed neither too fast nor too slow, but given that they are in forced proximity in Hermione's apartment, the main focus is on them. We see a friendship between Hermione and Draco, Ron with his wife and kids, Teddy and even a bit about what happened between Ginny and Harry in the past. But no doubt, Hermione and Harry's forced proximity is so entertaining as a reader.
The cutest and angstest shit I’ve read. Who would have thought that I would love Harmione? Certainly not me! The only thing I missed was some side characters. Dont get me wrong, gay friend Draco was the best thing I never knew I needed. Yet I wanted some Ron or Blaise sprinkled more than a few mentions. Still an amazing story with amazing characters. More realistic showcase of wartorn Harry that is lost in a world he never expected to see.
It was okay. High drama, high tension, but I think the reason they weren't friends or at least as close as they used to be was in part due to Hermione taking everything too personally and neither of them just fucking talking to one another.
Will probably read this from Harry's POV just to see Teddy tho.
