Thank you so much to the author for collaborating with me and sending me a free copy of his book.

Thrillers are not a genre I typically gravitate towards, which is odd because I always find myself enjoying the storyline. Access Point was no different, as it starts off immediately with the action. Two brothers infiltrating a building, tasking to kill an important man. The suspense continues to build, for they are not alone, the janitor is also in the building and could spot them at any moment. However, the brothers come out empty handed and must report to the person that purchased their services. Instead of anger, this person comes back with a doubled offer.

And that is just the start of it!

I thoroughly enjoy authors who can suck you in during the first chapter, and Yerzak did just that. I really liked and connected with the main character, Lincoln Webber. His struggles and need to flee the entrapment of national security made his character likable to me. I did not always agree with everything he did or said, but it didn't take away from the quality of the book.

Although this book is very good, it is not a quick read. I had to take extra time to comprehend the complexities of the plot and make sure I understood what was going on. This is not a book you can read and only pay attention to half the time. Read it when you are ready for a journey.

So excited to see what else this author can do!

Access Point by E.J. Yerzak is a medical thriller. The novel, peppered with action sequences and fast-paced plot building, is about a pharmaceutical giant. That is on the edge of making medical history. But behind this promising new treatment, there is a dangerous secret that the company will do anything to protect.
Lincoln Webber, our protagonist, is trapped under the web of national security and is forced to come out of it at any cost.

This debut is a believable tale, which sometimes felt unbelievable with a plot woven so tightly that I could do nothing but sit back and admire how the author has built it. There is nothing much to talk about the story, but Lincoln Webber feels like a reflection of Robert Langdon from Dan Brown's novel. And that made it all the more intriguing.

Writing and narration are clever, not spurious, with plot twists that keep you hooked till the end. Although, the length of the book disturbed me a little. But maybe it's because these days I have become too lazy to read anything above 300 pages.

A Fun and Scary Ride!!
Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2021
I thoroughly enjoyed Access Point! The two main characters, Link and Brock, were likable, relatable, and the author develops them well throughout the story. The historical setting of Boston is perfect, and reading this book made me feel like a tourist caught up in a deadly game of cat and mouse!
IT and Cyber-security are not subjects that I’m adept in, so this book was also very enlightening and educational for me…the capability of technology is much scarier than I realized!
The author did a fantastic job of keeping a good pace from beginning to end. I especially like the fact that he tied Altzeimer’s into the plot, which after reading the acknowledgements section, is obviously a disease that is near and dear to his heart.
Kudos to E.J. Yerzak for writing a fun and scary thrill ride….I’m definitely looking forward to more from this author!!

I’m not usually a big fan of thrillers, but this one is really well done, especially considering it’s the author’s debut. This is not only a fun and entertaining read, but also highly informative. I love books that explore the current capabilities of a certain technology and even the future possibilities it might hold that are being explored right now. Access Point blends that future possibility very well into the existing abilities of spyware technology. Action-packed and well-thought-out with some unforgettable characters, this book is definitely well worth the read.

I would have preferred more structure in the multiple points of view, but that is a personal preference, and all things said and done, this adventure was so much fun that something which usually bothers me a lot was barely noticeable. I most definitely look forward to seeing what more lies ahead for this author, because this was a fantastic start to what promises to be a great career.

Stunning Introduction

I love the way Yerzak writes Boston. Subtle, detailed. Fenway roars and the scent of sweet cream cannolis beckons. The writing drew me in, the pages turned quickly, and I was there with Link and Brock and Wendy running, fleeing, uncovering and unraveling.

Access Point races and twists through a compelling plot that had me hooked from the first chapter to the last. The narrative is familiar and relatable, with themes of corruption and technological advancements that always seem a step further than we realize. And within it all is this thread of desperate humanity: people who deserve a hero, but more often find a villain.

So thoroughly enjoyed this book. Can’t wait for Yerzak’s next.

This suspense thriller will keep you wanting more as you easily glide through the chapters. The pacing and tone have you on edge, keeping you fully invested in the survival plot of the antagonists, Link and Brock, while also letting you experience their journey as friends caught in something they did not invite onto themselves. Their friendship is genuine and hilarious, giving enough levitation to the tense situation, but never deviating your attention away from it.
There’s also very believable and human motives within this story, and it does a perfect job of drip feeding you just enough to make this an absolute page turner.

Link is a cyber-security expert. He is also cliché handsome, and women fall in love with him and he tries to be nice to people. He's pulled into a crime perpetrated by a dissatisfied past employee of his friend's workplace. Just managing to evade being killed by the ruthless people following him and his friend, he puzzles how it is that they seem to know at all times where he and his friend are hiding. It turns out there's some wonderful, new-age technology in play that could be a game-changer for criminals and governments alike.

The book's storyline is engaging. I was pulled out of the story too often by head-hopping sections and clichéd portrayals of people and scenes.

Great read—will keep you guessing!

This is a fast paced, well written, intriguing thriller. The writing is excellent and vivid. You will feel like you are right there with the main character trying to solve a mystery/crime that is set in New England in present day. The author educates, informs, entertains, and thrills his reader along the way. The book also touches upon Alzheimer’s disease, a cause close to my heart, so I felt connected the entire read. Highly recommend!

I think this is a solid first book for E.J. Yerzak. It's fast paced and I felt the characters where pretty well done, with the main ones having there own quirks that kept them interesting and real. I like Wendy the best.

A word of advise to the main character. Turn off the phones first thing man.

Looking forward to book two.

Gripping. Nail biter. Fast paced. Twists and turns. Unpredictable.

All words that a suspense thriller should have to be good and Access Point has all these and more. EJ takes you on ride that will leave you wanting more, flipping through the pages late into the night, as you hold your breath waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I don't know about you but I love to get my heart pumping with a good thriller!! This will not disappoint.

The character development is strong making the two main characters, Link and Brock, relatable and intriguing. The dialogue is engaging and the descriptive nature of this book makes you feel like you are part of the story.

It was captivating from start to finish and an absolutely stellar debut. Kudos EJ.
