The way the Cholas ruled the country in a straight forward manner, with Love, Valor and Piousness has been brought to our eyes through this book in a grandeur and realistic fashion by the Legend writer Kalki. In today's, internet dependent world, we just wanted to take this fantastic novel to the kids and youngsters through this initiative of Nila Comics. We are sure kids, youngsters and ardent readers of this Novel will like this.

For someone who wants to read this magnum opus of author Kalki Krishnamurthy but does not know how to read Tamil, this is a brilliant place to start. Though I would have loved to read the original nuanced version in Tamil, I could not resist delving into the world of Ponniyan Selvan.
The translation is fine, wouldn't call it perfect but it would help anyone irrespective of their linguistic barriers and that is sometimes the only thing we need to convey a masterpiece of a story.
The illustrations are good and keep to the storyline in its entirety though we do not get entire versions of mythological stories or poetries which are a part of the storyline. This is understandable considering it is in a comic format.
I hope someday I get to read the original version but until then the comic series version along with good audio-storytelling in Tamil works just fine for me.

A story that’s been staged on a massive scale. I’ll definitely have to revisit and make a list of characters to follow closely in the subsequent parts to follow.

The graphic novel series improves the reach of the saga among young adults, but the editing is terrible. The original series though is nothing short of thrilling!

Awesome illustrations for this timeless novel. The extract is so precise and simple that Kids would enjoy reading. It is a nice treat for elders too.
