Has helpful hints for building a good morning routine that over time improves other parts of your life. Things I didn't like so much: -She repeated herself and dragged out the writing as if it was an essay for a college course that required a minimum length. -Modern hashtag speak. -Lots of asking for the reader to review the book on amazon.
This was a great little book! I feel like it’s something that I could start tomorrow and immediately get benefits out of. I have a hard time getting myself motivated and this was one of those books that didn’t tell me to set my alarm for half an hour earlier like that was going to solve all my problems. The solutions here are easy and actionable. The writing style was also very good and made it a quick read. There are some great quotes and a few good book recommendations as well. I will definitely read more by this author.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick, fun, “shot in the arm & soul” read. The information isn’t necessarily new, but Stephanie’s voice as an author reminds me of the cheerleader we all need to get going. I appreciated her outlook & spunk.
I read the audible version of the self-help book titled THE SHOWER HABIT by STEPHANIE EWING and narrated by COURTNEY LUCIEN. The Shower Habit will teach you how to: • Start your day with confidence without getting up earlier. • Boost your productivity in meeting your goals. • Reduce stress and increase happiness by following this simple morning habit. You are not lazy. You are not a hopeless procrastinator. You just need to practice a little self-care through ramping up your morning routine. Don’t miss this opportunity to makeover your morning routine, motivating you to take action toward your goals. These simple changes will transform your life! I am going to try to turn into an early riser and try to get more sleep and these books are very motivating.
The author has a whole chapter dedicated to brushing your teeth and demands that people shower every day. While setting habits is important the tone is very much an "I know better than you" attitude.
Disclaimer: I don’t read self-help books. I don’t even like self-help books. I’m a planner, I’m motivated, I can’t learn anything from...wait, what? I can improve my life by doing something that I already love doing? Ah, you’ve got me!
I got this book as a free download. I judged the book by its excellent cover and catchy title and decided to give it a go. If you’re thinking of paying money for this book I’d say do it! The author writes in a friendly, motivational way (in the supportive sense of the word rather than the drill sergeant way) and the book is well put together. I can’t wait to get in an amazing-smelling shower and start to put what I’ve learned into practice.
Definitely felt more like a nudge than a kick, but I really enjoyed this book! Lots of good information and motivation to elevate the quality of my life. Look forward to reading the other books in this series! Thank you!
This book has suggestions on how to build a morning routine and change the way you see yourself. There were some good suggestions. I'm trying to implement them in my morning routine.
This is not what I thought it would be. What did I think it would be? I guess something that were possible and probable for me. It doesn't seem to be for those who are chronically ill.
Not sure what all 10 steps were, as dnf.
Kudos to recognizing the power of a cold shower, though.
It wasn't useful to me. There was no room for nuances such as if the reader is disabled. It gave an all or nothing impression. For someone that is abled body and unfamiliar with habit stack this could be a useful book.
A self-help book. Mmm, not my thing generally but recovering from Long Covid it seemed like a good idea and it is.
This book lays out clearly a regime to improve your life and if I can keep to at least some of it, I think it will work. The book is clearly written, amusing and pretty inspiring - which is what you want from a self-help book. No?
Read in an hour. If you're familiar with habit stacking, the author applies the principle to a daily shower, adding on things like mindfulness and affirmations. It hadn't occurred to me to use a daily shower as a cornerstone habit, so the idea was intriguing to me. I seriously doubt I can implement 10 additional habits on a daily basis, however.
This book is badly laid out. I started reading and got bored very quickly. It just doesn’t make sense and the message is very foggy. I would recommend other authors such as Earl Nightingale or James Clear
A cracking little book that will help you implement a worthy morning routine that has the potential to be life changing. I look forward to reading more of the authors work.
Bukunya tipis, cuma 76 halaman.
Kalau pake WC jongkok sih udah oke ya, kalau enggak disaranin latihan squat 10x sebelum pup.
Kalau udah terbiasa mandi yang bener, pikiran juga jadi bener, so impian dan rencana besar akan lebih mudah terwujud. Begitulah kesimpulannya.
Easy quick little read that took me two morning to finished. All about easy starting now by spicing up the normal daily shower with stacking great habit to build the happy morning routine for yourself that set you up for success cause happiness is the way to success, not the other way round.
The writing tone is friendly like you’re chatting with a good friend who advise you about the good things she’s experienced and want us to try it too because it’s work and we deserve it. And I like the part where she said we should try it and observe how it works for us for a week and then decide for yourself what to keep and to let go, adapting it into your own! Cause that’s fundamental.
I also felt joy about her sharing this is her first book doing what’s she love and I even want to start writing something too since this too what I fantasize about but never really put it into action before. I guess I have to started with stepping into that shower! and stacking up little happiness by actions towards my dream life & self.
I enjoyed this! Thank you! now excuse myself to the shower 👉
p.s. this is my first kindle book I’ve ever read since I’ve got into purchasing ton of them early this month 😂 now my kindle journey begins!!!!!
This book is simple but amazing! Stephanie is great at getting to the point without the sleepy, mundane repetitive crap that fills most of these type of books. She doesn't rely on a religious sector either which is what most often happens in self improvement books. I just wanted to say that I as a nurse have very little time to do things that will improve my mental wellness. But, this light read (knocked it out in half a day) and taking notes on my steps was doable and I will be successful at it too. Look, I'm not a pro at leaving reviews but I wanted to do something for others like me who needs the simple things in life to better themselves...and just breathe in the goodness it will bring. Thank you Stephanie, for my life is better today than yesterday because of you!
I decided to read this self-help book in an attempt to help motivate myself in the mornings. I am NOT a morning person, and my MH conditions can sometimes make getting up and in the shower seem like an insurmountable task. Stephanie’s book is short, sweet, and to the point, offering straightforward advice on how to combat that “I don’t want to” feeling that some of us have in the morning. She offers some guidance and tools to help people like me get out of bed and into the shower LOL. The one problem that I have with her book is that it is too basic. There was nothing life altering in the book itself and one of the suggestions (using the mirror as a whiteboard) actually made me cringe. If I saw someone writing on my mirror, I’d lose it. That being said, this is a good short introduction to someone struggling with morning tasks and maintaining habits.

I grabbed this book as a quick and quirky read. I decided to give it a try. Guess what, this really works. Stephanie's ideas are nothing new, the way she executes your new habit stacking is what is key here. I've been a miracle morning follower for years and when she recommended it as a book to read for further growth in this area, she earned a warm hug from my heart. Read this. Buy is for a friend who is struggling right now. Showering made all the difference in the world and kicked me out of my funk. I am running over to get her book on sleep next. I would read anything she has written because she has a very accessible and relatable style and that's huge in holding my interest.
Super short read but I enjoyed it. The book is based on the idea of habit stacking. She lays out like 10 simple actions on the shower (three are done in the shower so it really doesn't take long). Accumulatively, they can help improve mindset and productivity. While I think it would be beneficial to follow the plan as she has outlined, since it is based on a general theory, it could be adapted to better fit various individuals. The things she includes are things most people should be doing anyways, but once you understand the science behind it, it could be utilized to improve other parts of your day as well. Again, the book is not thorough, but could have far reaching effects if you marinate on the ideas while following the basic habit stacking she outlines and utilize the principles.
The book had 10 steps for creating a morning routine based around the activity of showering as a foundation. I picked this book up for three reasons…I am trying to read 10 minutes of non-fiction daily, I wanted a quick read, md I’d already finished two fiction books earlier and wanted a book that was pretty light so I didn’t have to focus a lot on memorizing. This fit the bill. Upbeat writing style, but I felt like perhaps it was a goal of the author to publish and this was the topic she came up with when it was suggested that she write what she knows. So, the book is a 2.5 for me, but rounding up to encourage others to give it a try if they need some positive and uplifting assistance to have more energy to reach their goals through habit stacking.
I have always been aware of the benefits of cold showers, yet never been able to follow through on actually having them. The ideas presented around the cold blast are great and something I feel I can stick to. Although I don't plan on implementing everything, the overall heart of the book is fantastic, in equipping you to add these habits to your day, making it as easy as possible to do so, and the explanations around each habit in the stack are good. I still am hesitant about yoga as I think I'll break in half, but maybe one day I'll give it a go. Finished reading the book in an hour, more than worth the time spent reading.
I have depression and, since losing my family, it got worse- way worse. While I am taking meds & seeing a counselor regularly, I wasn't getting practical applications to help me get better & keep my depression at bay. That's when I found "The Shower Habit!" I was drawn to the title to improve my own self care & hygiene. What I found was so much more! This book, along with other applications, has subsided my depression & taught me how to build good habits, as well as how to set goals & keep track of those goals. An absolutely must-read for "beginners!"
