I thought I was trading one evil for a lesser one. Marry a man I might eventually love, forge an alliance between his gang and my father's, and get out from under Dad's sadistic thumb.
Turns out my fiancé has other plans. Like slaughtering me and my entire family the night before the wedding.
I make it out alive, left with nothing but a thirst for vengeance. But if I want to crush the prick who betrayed me, I have to turn to the biggest pricks of them all.
Hot, cocky, and dangerous, Wylder Noble and his men rule Paradise Bend. Their help doesn't come cheap. I've got to prove I'm strong enough to deserve it.
Whatever they throw at me, I can take it. No taunting words or scorching looks will break the wall around my heart.
They think I'm made of glass? I'm a girl of shards that can cut you to the bone.
Before this is over, someone's going to bleed. And this time, it won't be me.

Most of the times its the heorine who annoys me but this book surprised me, i am kinda impressed by the authors for making the hero’s annoying this time. This story is about Mercy who is mafia princess and her fiance kills her entire family, so she goes to the Nobels, another mafia gang and ask them to help her to destroy her ex fiance. I loved the heroine, she is really strong and confident. She doesnt bow down to the guys, she is not that type of heroine “ oh he is so hot i ll do anything he tells me to do, CUZ HE IS SO HOT”. Mercy doesnt get manipulated by their cocks, she puts them on their place. I loved her character and would have rated this book 3 -4 but the guys are annoying af. First of all, who made them mafia dudes? Like who in the right mind made them mafia? Seriously, if there was a school for mafia’s, these dudes would be the second to fail cuz they cant even be first at that. They have no personality at all and each time Mercy tries to warn them or protect them from danger, they suspect her and punish her instead.. Like wtf? And they make her go through some test to prove herself worthy of their help... test such as putting her hand on piranha aquarium...yes you read it correct the first time..., stay in groupie home, puts her in freezer, makes her clean the house... 😑 seriously again who made them mafia dudes? And how are ppl scared of them? Even the ex fiance who is the bad dude is wayyy smarter and looks wayyy more dangerous than the heros. These hero’s are a fucking joke. And then they give her a murder case to solve, like she is a mafia princess not a fucking detective. If she were a murder solving pro she wouldnt be there asking for help and petting piranha’s. The guys didnt have any chemistry or connection with the heroine, they were really fucking annoying. Especially Rowan and Wylder...ok no all 4 of them were the same, stupid fucking idiots. The only good thing about this book is Mercy the heroine.

Loved the female heroine but not the rest. I thought I would hate the heroine, that’s what usually happens when I read a mafia romance book, the heroine wants to be a badass and kickass but she’s all bark but no bite and shit but it wasn’t the case in this one, surprisingly it was the guys that were poorly written. If it wasn’t for them being stupid and mean, I would’ve enjoyed this much more because this series has a lot of potential.
Edit: Sadly I’ve DNF the second book around 26% in. The guys are just not what I like in a book, and the insta-lust/love is poorly executed.
I’m willing to be spoiled the ending of this series.
Why do I keep doing this to myself. I hate mafia books, I haven't read I didn't subtly hate. Yet I keep reading them, insanity!
The heroines entire family is wiped out at what is her rehearsal dinner, she thought she was finally going to be out of the thumb of her father who treated her like crap, her nice fiance is going to treat her with respect . Welp, she was out of the thumb of her father alright. Her fiance 'red wedding'd her'.
She runs to the big dogs who run the city and begs them to help avenge her family. If only she had gone to the police or even God, they would have answered her quicker than the supposed "big dogs". Instead they had her doing dumb shit to prove herself. tf! She did it too, cleaning vomits and shit, pun intended.
The heroes suck, the "mystery" she had to solve was crap. Ohh, that person had been acting a certain way, timid the entire book now all a sudden they can do crap all. Not reading the next one.
Series like Crooked Paradise to me are like… a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. If you have Kindle Unlimited and enjoy reverse harems, you probably know what I mean. They’re the series (usually fantasy or paranormal) with multiple books, multiple love interests, and starts out enemies to lovers… with a badass heroine.
I can think of a dozen off the top of my head. Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac, Deadside Reapers, Nightwatch Academy, The Lost Sentinel, Hell Hounds Harem, The Dark Side, Zodiac Academy…
What I’m trying to say is, these books are dependable. I know I can pick up a series, get hooked, be entertained, and enjoy myself while reading them. It’s rare to find one that’s groundbreaking (I’d only consider two of the series I listed above “amazing”), but when you just want to read and get lost in a story and a world, they’re good fun.
What I really liked about Scorned Princess, the first book in the Crooked Paradise series, is that it just jumps into the action with no preamble. From the description we know that on the eve of her wedding, the heroine’s future fiancee betrays her family and their alliance by murdering them all in cold blood. Mercy, the heroine, flees to an even more powerful gang for their help extracting revenge.
The harem of guys are introduced all at once, but there’s no insta-love. Enjoyably, there’s not insta-hate, either (hate that overcompensation and “faux-snakiness”). The leader of the guys is Wylder, son of the gang leader and gang-leader-in-training. Gideon is his best friend since childhood, a nerdy guy with a lung problem who is confined to the house for tech research. Kaige is the muscle. Rowan is… the businessman? We don’t really know a lot about Rowan, except he’s Mercy’s ex. Yes - we’ve hit basically every trope here: enemies to lovers (Wylder); standoffish guy (Gideon); playboy flirt (Kaige); second chance romance (Rowan). But like I said, there’s no insta-love and she doesn’t get with all the guys in the first book - she lets respect and friendship form.
I enjoyed Mercy because while she was a “badass heroine” (the archetype of reverse harems) she was not invincible. She was constantly put down by her father who wanted a son, tortured and barely trained because he didn’t think she was good enough to carry on his legacy. She knew some things but is by no means an accomplished assassin or fighter - her best asset is surprising people after they’ve underestimated her.
Something else I really liked is that this series seems to be self-contained to each book - as in, a plot arises and is resolved within each book - so it’s easy to pick up at any point.
This plot is just...stupid? The premise of the book is that the heroine hates her family (quite passionately) but still wants to avenge them after they are murdered.
I am already confused by this "logic".
In order to avenge them she runs to another gang and proceeds to let them randomly humiliate her in the form of "tests". I had an issue with her taking this level of mistreatment from the beginning since she hated her father? So why would she bother and why would she bother to bow to that level of mistreatment? So her reasoning for staying just did not track for me from the beginning.
Anyways. As the story "progresses" there is no rhyme or reason to the guys' reactions which made her acceptance more and more unbearable the longer it went on.
I say "progress" because at 70% of the book they are still doing "tests". One would think at this point we would be passed the plot starters? Additionally, at around 60%(?) something happens which sort of makes them mistrust her again without there being any logical reason for it. They do admit to each other that they do trust her but still go on "punishing" her by making her do unnecessary shit and just treating her badly. AS THEY DO THE ENTIRETY OF THE 70%. This also made their hook-ups so very unbelievable.
So my issue is basically that the author is trying to create cause and reaction in the plot and I just do not see the correlation between cause x and reaction y. At all. Concerning any actions. I find the actions of everyone illogical and they plain irritate me which makes this an unenjoyable read. I can't even finish it just to have finished it.
The heroine is also supposed to be this real bada** but she is basically just lots of bark and no bite. She takes ALL the humiliation from everyone lying down. I am actually surprised she did not beg for more disrespect. She could have at least punched that Gia character in the face but apparently I got closer to assaulting a fictional character than she did. The characters also randomly have the hots for each other in situations that just would not make anyone want to have sex which makes it very inauthentic.
There is also a random little murder case thrown in, which she is supposed to solve. For me, the book was just too busy and did not have enough enjoyable parts to cover the shitty parts. I don't want to be mad while reading something and this piece was just aggravatingly illogical. No, thank you.

First of all, the story is nice, a bit cliché, but not in a bad way. Mercy was to marry Colt to unify their mafia families. But Colt betrayed and kill them all. She manages to run away and to find a sanctuary in the Noble's house, the crowned mafia family of the area. This plot is efficient and the action very quick, you don't have time to wait and wonder if you should order pizza again or go with the healthy stuff. No ! You're in it from beginning to end.
In this book, you can feel Mercy's anger and hunger for revenge. At first, she might looked like a sheep in a bloody dress, but then, you find out she is tough. And we all love a strong female MC ! She has the strength, the talent, the backbones, the tongue and she is clever. I can't stand FMC with a loud mouth but without brain to put it to a good use. This one is really a full package. But the character is well written, because she still has flaws and god does she has pride !
Now for the boys, this is a slow burn RH, which is not very common in this line of books, but I like it very much ! It's almost an instant lust, but there is no such thing has love yet and it makes it realistic and believable.
For the plot, I knew it was coming, but it wasn't a "Gosh ! So predictable! Come on author !" but more of a "I knew it ! I'm a clever cookie and now pleaaaaase author go for the kill !". So yeah, it didn't deterred me at all. The end had me gasping, even though it was the logical cliffhanger, I was still hooked by it.
This was fabulous and I enjoyed it so much it’s the first book in a series of four and genre-wise it’s a gang-style enemies to lovers reverse harem romance. So on the eve of Mercy’s wedding which is a business transaction to hopefully call a truce between two rival gangs the claws and Steel knights. Mercy’s entire family is murdered in cold blood. Fortunately, she manages to escape the same fate and she then turns to the Nobles another crime family for assistance.
The Nobles run paradise City and Mercy with nowhere else to turn feels like they’re her best bet for revenge against her former fiancé and his gang. But to gain their assistance she will need to prove herself worthy and Wylder Noble the son of the boss has no intention of making things easy challenging our girl at every turn.
But Mercy is made of stern stuff and she doesn’t back down to whatever is thrown her way. Leading the charge is Wylder who is the boss of his tight knit group we also have Kaige who hides his darkness behind a jokester persona Gideon who’s the cold logical tech guy and Rowan a face from Mercy’s past who betrayed her trust when she needed him most.
This really was a great read it easily captured and managed to keep my attention throughout it's also well written with plenty of twists and turns that kept me glued to the unfolding action. We are just getting started here though and in regards to the romance side of things there’s definitely steam but it’s still building somewhat. This does end on a cliffhanger but the next book is already out. I definitely recommend this and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s happens next.
Well another one down this month. I'm on a damn roll. I wasn't planning to read this until the weekend but it was either this or alien p-rn. So here I am stuck in this mafia hole I've fell into.
I really like Mercy in this. Though she has shit that triggers her, she really rolls with the punches and still moves forward.
However, the ending was such bullshit. I need to have a talk with you Ms. Eva. That was not nice and I am not impressed.
Mercy Katz was the only daughter and heir to the Claws family gang and she was now engaged to Colt who was the heir to their rival Steel Knights. On the night of their rehearsal dinner, Colt changed the rules and took out her whole family including her grandmother in a Red wedding scene like Game of Thrones. Mercy escaped only just with a shot to the elbow and found her way to the house of the Nobles. The most elite and wealthiest of the gangs in Paradise Bend. These guys were at the top of the food chain and now she wants their help to get revenge on Colt. They won't make it easy for her though as they will run her through a series of tests to prove not only her loyalty but also her strength and that she will prove to them that she will do anything to get revenge on the guy who killed her family and loved ones in one evening. However, what will happen when it looks like the Nobles have gone back on their word and handed her over to the enemy? Has Mercy been double-crossed or is someone determined to have the upper hand in the world of the best "gang" in Paradise Bend? I had hoped that she had proven herself with the Nobles and that they had accepted her but that cliffhanger ending left my mind wavering now and hoping that it wasn't true but Occam’s razor would tell Mercy it was. Let's hope Book #2 proves to us that in this case, the Occam’s razor isn't correct and that the true answer isn't the most obvious.
the red wedding plot was so promising. but the execution, eh. the heroes arent ruthless (aka hot) enough for me n the chemistry/plot was so so lackluster
ps. truth be told i kinda despise exes being one of the main guy in rh. it feels like they had a headstart when they usually arent my fav. unless ofc theyre the grumpiest brute despite not being the leader, but rowan was so weak i almost weep
I’m not usually a fan of gang books as the female is typically written as weak, but that is not the case here! Mercy is pinned in a corner but instead of giving up she runs to her fathers rivals and I am so jealous! There are four guys total but they all have their own special relationships with Mercy. I loved everyone of them. I also liked that we got all of their POV’s so we always knew what they were thinking. There are so many twists and turns I cant wait to read book two.
It was truly a waste of my time. I pushed through, hoping it would get better, and it didn't. There is no real plot. There are so many POVs and too many "potential" love interests. I was literally annoyed reading any hint of romance between any of the characters because I knew it didn't mean anything in the next chapter.
This book was just straight up cringe. That word pretty much summarizes the whole thing. I read in another review someone called the plot of this book "stupid" and it's actually kind of accurate
Why does mercy want to avenge the blood of her family that she did not even like, it doesn't really make much sense....like miss girly please explain yourself.
Gia is so strong that she can knock a man down flat ad kill him in an instant but while fighting with Mercy...she loses?
The spice in this book was okay I guess. The car scene was good but talking about the unnecessary tension between Mercy and the other guys was well....unnecessary. I'm sure it leads somewhere in the next books but in this book it was just meh.
Anthea next, her changing her views about mercy in an instant was just again, stupid. I mean yes she did save her life but still come on now.
I hate miscommunication tropes and there was a lot of that. Like if Wylder just listened to Mercy for a minute the book would be 200 pages shorter lol. Maybe I should do more research before picking up books from now on.
Also please it's time we stop putting humans on book covers please for the love of God STOP!

Very much an introduction and get to know you book. Not a ton going on yet but I'm hoping it will pick up in the next book. Also the internet has totally ruined parkour for me and I could not take it seriously the entire book.
As someone that loves, therefore devours, RH books, it seems harder and harder to find a plot and characters that don’t read as recycled versions of ones that I have read 100x already. I’m always so excited when I come across one that manages to stand out and capture me in its lil’ book claws till the very end, and Scorned Princess did that. It is a contemporary, E2L, RH romance, and it was freaking good!!
While Mercy—the FMC—is the main voice in the story, we still get POV’s from the guys and that is something that I enjoy. Especially, when I’m getting to read from the perspective of a character I’m struggling to like or connect with, because sometimes insight into their thoughts really helps me to understand them better. And, is there a character or two that I was struggling to like or connect with in this one? Why YES, yes there is (side-eyeing YOU Wylder!!)…but I think I like the book that much more for it. This love story is going to be hard fought, and I am totally here for it. These guys are NOT nice boys, and Mercy is going to have her work cut out for her…but she’s sassy enough that I can't wait to see how it all plays out.
As far as steam goes, we are given some sexy times, but the emotional connections and/or re-connections are on a slow-build level, meaning: when those hook-ups do happen, then they are going to explosive, and I can't wait!
While Scorned Princess does end with one heck of a cliffy, we are still given a really good story that has a beginning, middle, and end. What does that even mean, you ask? Well, there is a whole lot going on in this book. It is introducing us to the characters, giving us some back story, and building up plots--you know, like setting the stage for us--but, there is also a story line that takes place during this book and instead of leaving us completely hanging like some authors like to do, we are actually given a bit of a resolution and it was a really nice surprise. Honestly, as I was reading, all I kept thinking was, “I’m about to be hit with a dreaded ‘to be continued…’ and then I’m going to scream.” But that didn’t happen…like we are ACTUALLY given some answers, and I was shocked and really happy. I did say that there is a heck of a cliffy though….I mean they have to hook us and get us pumped for book two, right?? So I knew something was coming, and let me tell you...it came, but still, I was happy with where it ended. I don't know, it was like they tied a harness around me before they threw me over that cliff, rather than just sneaking up on me and pushing my ass over it. Make sense? Probably not. Suffice it to say, that while the cliffy was a kick to the gut, I ain't mad at 'em.
Overall, I definitely recommend this book to those that like RH. As I said, it is contemporary, so no fire-breathing dragon shifters or incorrigible Fae men--but there ARE tatted-up enforcers, pierced-up geniuses, hot-headed alphaholes, and scorned first-loves...I mean....need I really say more? This is definitely one for the shelves--ugh, c'mon book two!!

They make her do some crazy things to prove her worth. But the main one is to catch the killer of the king Nobles right hand man. She dose but ends up kidnapped at the end by Colt.
My feelings:
I had the worst book hang over from a previous book, and had attempted to read 4 others before landing on this one which Pulled me out of my slump.
The book is captivating from the first few chapters. Its not as ruthless as I might normally like but its great for people looking to enter into this side of fiction. Its a reverse Harem, but it doesn’t lead into it in this book. So far she has only had sex with one and been touched by another. So be interesting to see when it finally leads into the good stuff.
Ok lets talk about the main MCs:
Mercy, I feel like she is sold a little short at the beginning. Fainting after being nicked by a bullet. But then shows off her parksore skills and chops up body and enjoys it. I think she is a lot stronger then we think. Her father has clearly trained her better then we think. Im glad she was given a weekness. I was thinking she was going to get through everything the boys gave her without any issues.
Kaige, oh you are my book Boyfriend in this book from the start. I love the trigger happy type. I love how you gave in first to her. I also love how you crumbled with just one sexual encounter. Clearly a softy.
Rowan, oh how I wanna know your past. Why did you leave mercy when you were kids?? I love how they gave her an ex that she was madly in love with in the mix. Clearly once we find out why he left we are gonna love him, so im interested to see why. I feel like he is a lot softer then we think, clearly he will crumble for her without any hesitation.
Gideon, We didn’t get a big insight into this one. We do know he is the tech side of it, don’t go on missions cause he has a lung issue and cannot breath properly, but im interested to see what he has. Wonder if he is ruthless or just a softy as well. I hope he is a Dom in the bedroom. I feel like we don’t have one yet in the group.
Wylder, hmmmmm I think you might be my next book boyfriend in book 2. We haven’t had a lot of insight into you yet. But I feel like we have lot to find out. I think with Ezra (Dad) home we will get Into the good stuff now. I think maybe your dad is a prick and that you will bond over bad dads with Mercy. But well see. I think your a softy under it all, but with a few kinks thrown in. Lets see.
“Fat chance of that,” she muttered, but right then, I knew I was going to find a way to have her.”

Right up until about 85% I was thinking this book is a solid four stars, pacings great, storylines great and characters are likable...then bam did not see any of that stuff happening, OMG, tipped it right over the edge. I am very seldom surprised as to where the story is going.
So there's a bit of sexy time in this but it's more of a slower burn RH with an enemies to lovers feel, which is my preference I love to see relationships build.
Mercy is a strong, feisty FMC out to seek revenge for the death of her family and you can't help but root for her. She's sassy, she's been underestimated and treated poorly her whole life. She was going to be married off as a commodity and the only guy she ever loved left her years ago without a word. I'm rooting for her to have some happiness and show everyone she is not to be messed with.
The guys well I'm sure I'm going to come round on them all but right now Kaige is the one for me. But at the moment these guys are quite shrouded in secrecy i can't wait to get more of their stories, especially Rowan's as I know there's a reason he's ended up with Wylder. But I get the feeling I will love Wylder and Gideon too.
I loved the blood and some of the scenes here were fantastic, It was well written and enjoyable throughout. I seem to like assassin and female serial killer books lately. Shocks galore towards the end and with that cliffie I'm hoping for a lot more blood to come in the next book...GAH what an ending, I'm going to need book 2 ASAP!
one star because of how fucking FRUSTRATING this shit was oh my god i have never known rage quite likw it. the way these bitches just looked for ANY reason to hate on our girl even though they wanted to fuck her on the dl was so crazy. also they did mercy so dirty continually interupting her beating up gia like that. but i mean my main issue was the way the group handled Mercy as a whole i could not stand those mf and how quickly they switched up on her over GIA. THEY DIDNT EVEN FUCKING LIKE GIA. I did like the general plot (very cliche but cliche doesn’t mean bad) and i loved how strong Mercy was as a character. i’m probably going to read the rest of the series - or at least the next book bc i’m curious to see how the storyline progresses and clearly i hate myself bc once more, i have NEVER encountered such unadulterated anger 😭
Eh.. it wasn't the worst thing I've read, but I probably won't finish the series.
The FMC's family gets slaughtered on the eve of her wedding by her fiancé's gang. She remembers her father telling her about the Noble family and how they have the most power so that is who she runs to for help to bring down the Steel Knights (the gang that murdered her family). She shows up and asks for the heir to the Noble family to help her avenge her family and bring down the Steel Knights, and soon after her arrival she runs into her ex-boyfriend who works for the Nobles. After hearing her case, Wryder? (forgot his name) decides he'll let her know if he's willing to help her after she proves herself and gives her a bunch of inane tasks - one of which she has to solve a murder and exonerate one of the guys in his inner circle.
I liked the MC she was tough and didn't back down from any of the Nobles. The majority of the book is her being hazed essentially. Once I realized that that is basically all that was happening, I started skimming because it (imo) was pretty juvenile stuff.
I did not like who I am assuming will be her harem. There wasn't much "romance" in this book, so Im not sure who all exactly will be in her harem, but it is kind of obvious and they are lacking. I was not impressed.
The story, I guess could be interesting, but I think I was too annoyed with the MMCs to appreciate it. Actually, I was annoyed with almost everyone except the MC. I mean, her family was murdered, she was all alone and she didn't have any one and then all these people are coming at her and it was just excessive, imo. It should be noted, I'm not a huge fan of the bully trope (especially when it is done the way this one is and the FMC has no reprieve) and I wouldn't have read this one if I had known in advance that that is what it was. All that said, it is well written.
This ends on a cliffhanger, which usually gets my interest piqued for the 2nd book, but honestly... I could care less. I really don't see myself finishing this series. Like I said, I just didn't really care for any of the characters. If you like the bully trope and a strong h who doesn't back down, then you'll probably like this book.
I’ve read a lot of books by this author mainly in this genre, and this one is by far my favorite. I loved the attitude of the FMC. She was strong and refused to crumble. She was kicked down and insulted and challenged constantly and she faced it all. Even when she had a PTSD induced panic attack, she faced it with grace and refused to be shamed by it even though she technically failed the challenge. She was incredible.
The men were all unique. I didn’t feel like I’ve read them somewhere before. Their personalities were all different enough where I didn’t feel like I was reading the same character in a different font. They were merciless with how they treated the FMC. Her family was just massacred and she was being mocked and tormented. They were brutal, but it worked with the FMCs personality. There was great tension between all of them, but you could feel how each individual relationship was different.
The plot was lovely. The FMC trying to get revenge on her ex-fiancé for murdering her entire family, forcing her to ally herself with bigger, badder criminals. I loved how independent the FMC was in her quest for revenge. It’s nice to see how capable she is by herself, and when the men start helping her in the next couple books, it’ll be fascinating to see.
I don’t think I would be as chummy with the men as she was especially considering what they did and how they treated her. To each their own, I suppose. She didn’t open up on personal things, which I’m glad of. They didn’t deserve it.
The cliffhanger at the end will be interesting to see how she responds and what the men do. I’m tempted to start reading the next one right now.
- I am reading the complete series version but I feel this part of the book deserved its own review.
-3.5/5 ⭐️
This one surprised me I found this series through a random quote on tik tok so you know how good or bad those suggestions can go this one SO FAR is pretty good.
The plot is okay, for a mafia kinda deal you can only get a few options but this one does stand out from the others, it has its own unique aspects and even throws in a bit of mystery/murder to figure out as well.
The characters are good, each are well written. Mercy the main character you follow is an enjoyable character she’s strong, stubborn (in a good way) and very resilient. She’s built up well and you can see where each characteristic has come from. The only complaint i have with her is the petty side that comes out whenever there are other ‘bitchy’ females around. It doesn’t feel like her character and just bugs me as the comebacks are fairly lame. (Luckily it’s not often) But other than that she’s fairly entertaining to read. The boys all have their differences and seem to stick with them through this book, they don’t bounce around or suddenly change when interacting with her alone. Seeing their point of views from time to time is refreshing too. Gideon is my favourite and I’ll forever simp for any male with a lip ring and caffeine addiction.
The relationships between them all feel natural and not rushed or forced, some spicy comments have odd placements but easy to blank out if that’s not your thing.
I am looking forward to carrying on this series and seeing where it goes and what happens.
This was my first book by these authors, and I was definitely wowed. Very well written and edited, it pulled me in from the start and kept me turning the pages throughout.
The FMC is a badass (with flaws...which is great as it keeps her real), and I'm looking forward to learning more about the guys.
There's plenty of action and intrigue, and a lovely cliffhanger that will have me diving right into book 2.
a resolução do mistério é muito ????????? faz 0 sentido e me arrancou risadas.
Scorned Princess by Eva Chance and Harlow King is an enemies-to-lovers gang romance. This is the first book in the Crooked Paradise series.
This is the first book of Eva and Harlow's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved getting Mercy, Rowan, Kaige, Gideon, and Wylder's points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
The book ended on am amazing cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait to dive into the next book Perilous Lady.
I would recommend this book if you like enemies-to-lover romance, contemporary romance, or gang romances.
Interesting, FMC is a badass! After her family was slaughtered she heads for the hills to Noble to seek their help in her revenge against her fiance who killed her whole family. She has to perform act after act to prove her worth. All 4 guys are interested in her, she's attracted to all of them but does the deed with Kaige. This is a 4 book series and each ends in a cliff hanger. This is a RH and just not my jam!
Sigh. Another day, another bookstagram reel that got me.
Mercy is a “mafia princess” with no backbone. Baby girl is all bark and absolutely no bite. She took everything that happened to her lying on her back with her legs spread and begging for more. Outside of a brief tussle with Gia, she offered nothing but sass and snark to this story. I cannot stand a doormat heroine and that’s all we get here.
Ok I am not sure, but I think this series will be a Why Choose Romance 🥰 in the future. What is for sure is that it is the first book in Series with Criminals, and Gangs. There is a lot of action and some smutty scenes, but not a lot of smut as yet. I expect that the other books in the series will have what this book has plus more smut and possibly Why Choose eventually.
It’s definitely interesting, nice to see an FMC that not only says she’s badass but actually is badass. The guys on the other hand are highly annoying & act like children. The only one’s I can remember are Cage & Gideon the comp guy, otherwise I can’t tell them apart 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll do a full review at the end of the series.
