Cozy Corgi #22

Yowling Yetis

Rate this book
Golden autumn leaves, pumpkin spice chai, and… bigfoot?

Estes Park readies for one if its most beloved celebrations—Halloween! As Winifred Page prepares her bookshop for the festivities, she ponders whether forcing her grumpy corgi, Watson, into a costume is worth the effort, or his disdain. But outfit themes take a backseat when Creature Seekers, a popular monster hunting television program, teams up with local yeti hunter, Rocky Castle, for their Sasquatch special.

When Fred and Leo’s engagement party is disrupted by a vicious “yeti attack,” Fred can’t ignore the scruffy Rocky—though she dearly wishes she could—and the Creature Seekers who are the prime suspects. But betrayal, manipulation, and murder stalks through Estes… and as people hunt for the elusive yeti, the yeti might be doing some hunting of his own…

(This culinary cozy mystery includes a recipe for fall-flavored Apple and Cranberry Pie with Spiced Pie Crust.)

Book 22. It is Halloween once again. Mitch and Chris from a tv show Creature Seekers are in town. Saying they believe in ghosts and yeti is and anything Paranormal. There were yeti attacks on Naydiya a park ranger Leo worked with. And Chris one man from the show and Tiffany a girl that was a cousin to Chris. Mitch the other Tv show man got killed. Were Creature Seekers show stars fakers or are there really Yetis and such. Katie and Joe (Fred best friend and co owner of Cozy Corgi) got married. I have read all these books in the series except 23. Mildred always has Cool plots and funy situations with Fred cute little corgi Watson. Love all the characters in these series. Hopefully there will be a lot more books in the series to come

Extremely entertaining and loved the latest installment in the cozy corgi mysteries. It’s fun to catch up with Fred, Leo, Watson, Katie and Joe’s lives. Along with all the characters we love and hate. The mystery part of the story was definitely twisty and had me running in several different directions. And I like that not all questions are wrapped up at the end and leaving me curious for more. I had a warm feeling returning to Estes Park and the Fall holidays. This series is pretty special and I would recommend it to anyone who loves cute cozy mysteries and a spoiled, grumpy corgi.

I haven’t read one of the books in this series for awhile but I found it as enjoyable as the last time. I enjoy revisiting Fred, Watson, and the crew.

Yowling Yetis by Mildred Abbott has Fred and Leo's engagement party ruined by a murder.

Will Fred solve the mystery before anything terrible happens?

Fred, Leo, and Watson
Fred is glowing about being engaged. Leo is a great guy who is perfect for Fred. Watson, though, is quite happy that Leo is joining his family. I find it quite funny that Fred and Watson aren't athletic, but Leo is a park ranger. So, he is very athletic. However, these three make a cute little family.

I love this little family, and I know that Watson doesn't like crowds, but when he needs to, he will be there.

The Mystery
This mystery is quite a weird one. Creature Seekers are in town looking for a Yeti, and near Fred's engagement party, a person was attacked, and it was made to look like a Yeti. Fred has her hands full with this one. I didn't guess this one at all. I wasn't even in the same ballpark or forest as the yeti.

Three Stars
My rating for Yowling Yetis by Mildred Abbott is three stars, and I still recommend it. However, it isn't my favorite of this series because it is a bit out there. Even for Ms. Abbott and Estes Park, I never would have thought a television show like Creature Seekers would go there to look for a Yeti.

Remember to check out the recipe in the back. It is Katie's Apple and Cranberry Pie with Spiced Crust.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed these reviews of Yowling Yetis by Mildred Abbott.

Until the next time,

Karen Signature

It took me a long time to get into this, partly because it was my first time visiting this series at number 22, so I had nah idea who anyone was for a long time. I did like the story, and all the yummy treats made me so hungry! I can’t fault anyone who shamelessly plugs Kelley Armstrong. Not much of a mystery though.

I love this author and this series. I started with book 1 and have enjoyed each and everyone of them. I think Ms. Abbott does an excellent job in describing her characters so they come alive to the reader. And, of course, Watson the Corgi, is the real star. I would highly recommend this series if you enjoy a smart woman heroine and her spunky canine companion. There is always a great mystery involved. Most of the time I do not figure out the killer until the reveal.

Yetis are fabulous!!

The recurring characters gained depth and definition in this book. So wonderful to get to know favorite friends better! The new characters were detailed and interesting. By mid book I felt like I knew exactly who they were. The ending surprised me! Love Mildred Abbott's books!

Yeti Hunters, Bridal Showers, and a Murder in Estes Park!

by Barbara Kelley

More than one person gives Winifred Page and Leo Lopez a bridal shower: one winds up a disaster and the other is like a fairytale book. However, the fairytale shower winds up with a supposed Yeti attack on a park ranger, and Fred and Leo wind up having to go to the hospital to make sure the fellow park ranger is okay. There are people who believe in Yetis, and others who pretend to believe, but who are only faking it. Then there is a person who does not really like Fred, but asks her for help! And then there is the murder of one of the Yeti hunters. When a key piece of information was revealed, I immediately knew who the killer was, and why the victim was murdered. I don't often feel empathy for a murderer, but, in this case, I shed a lot of tears. As I have said before, this is one of those series' that get better and better! I gave this book only 5 stars because they don't offer 100.

yowling yetis

This book was so spot on with mystery as the plot revolved around new characters along with all of my old friends that I have come to love in Estes. Fred and the others are now so near and dear to me. The many twists and turns that occur as Fred works out the puzzle pieces to solve the mystery is what I long for at the end of the day. To snuggle up with a Mildred Abbott mystery and step into a whole new world always makes my day.
I can just close my eyes and almost hear the Yetis as the story evolved.
Thank you for a wonderful read. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Do you believe in yetis?
Halloween is just the right season to find a yeti - just as several engagement parties are going on in town. Unfortunately, several yeti attacks disrupt the joyful occasions. And a murder most foul adds to the drama. Can Watson and Fred together with their friends and neighbors solve all the mysteries swirling around Estes Park? As enemies become friends and relationships evolve, many questions are answered and life continues to surprise the Cozy Corgi & Co crew.
A fun cozy read - engaging and enjoyable

It's not abominable!

There are lots of Yetis in this book but unfortunately no real ones but you will still enjoy the yarn of this Yeti mystery. I especially appreciate the evolution of Susan Green. While still surly and severe, she becomes more attached to Watson and Fred. Murders keep coming but this time someone new in town gets to be the murderee. How else could this town keep up its numbers? People drop like flies here. Brings to mind, a nice place to visit (albeit briefly, so as not to die) but I wouldn't want to live here.

Another amazing mystery!❤️. This mystery involved several people in who was actually the murderer? Rocky Castle is known as an oversized idiot in Detective Susan Green's eyes! He is very annoying but also funny in his own way! Abe is an older man that moved into one of Rocky's friends house that had died so he and Abe kepted each other company! The people Rocky got involved with regarding Yetis were just out to get more money, they were fake! But in the end one was murdered and Ricky and his last friend that he grew up with went into partnership!

Always a Pleasure

Wedding plans proceed apace, Halloween looms over Estes Park, and Yeti hunting is the order of the day. As usual, the entire town gets involved in the mystery and the engagement festivities. While the main mystery gets solved, some of the minor ones are left hanging. Only fair, as some of the minor ones from the previous book are resolved here. Looking forward to the next one.

More Corgi Fun

Fred and Watson return with more fun and murder in Estes Park. Ms.Abbott always captures the streets and scenes of Estes Park and works the charming mountain town into being another character. This story is a bit more fun than mayhem. Lots of fall holiday mysteries to enjoy.

Yowling Yetis is another well written adventure involving Watson, the adorable corgi, and his human friends. The plot is clever, and I really like how her characters continue to grow and develop. This is a very well-crafted series and I highly recommend it.

The best mysteries series!

I just finished Bowling Yeties. I was hooked on Ms. Abbott's cozy mystery books from the very first page of Cruel Candy. I love how she builds the characters of the town with each succeeding book. Yowljng Yeties lets us see how Carla really has a good soul. I am so looking g forward to the next book in the series.

Yeti search, anyone?

The author added enough red herrings, twists, and mayhem to throw the reader off yet kept the writing flow easy to follow. I didn't know until right near the end of the perpetrator/perpetrators! Another fantastic Cozy Corgi Mystery and I can hardly wait to read the next in the series!

Who killed Mitch and why??? P.s. I believe in many things that can’t be seen, so why not a Yeti??? AND two bachelorette parties at the same time??? I enjoyed the story and recommend the book. This was an ARC.

A great read.

Watson deserves the 5* just for being Watson. Fred and Leo are engaged, as are Katie and Joe. Yeti hunters are in town and determine to catch one. Another body appears and Fred gets involved in trying to solve it. Funny and sad story.

A new complexion

Fred and Watson do it again. A good plot line which illuminates much of the reality shows on television we see today. Ms Abbott has done it again. Can’t wait for “lethal lace”.

Best yet

I love these books. It made me extremely happy to see them continue. My fondness for both Fred and Watson grows with each book, and I am enamored with the subtle shifts in the relationships within the series. I can hardly wait for the next one!

Ok read

To descriptive for me going on and on about the people and the scenery that the story moves too slow. I've tried to read each book from first to last page but get so frustrated I skip to the last couple of chapters and get most of the mystery.

Fred and Watson at it again

I can't find anything not to like about "Yowling Yetis".
As always, the characters are interesting and the story had enough twists and turns that I did not guess the guilty party.
I always find the Cozy Corgi books to be entertaining and enjoyable.

Howling mystery

Liked the new characters in this book. Such a unique read about yeti. Really had to read the pages to keep all the characters and added love and fun too with the engagement parties. Even Susan is getting a little bit mellow with Watson too.

I loved how the story was woven around the case and also the planning of the engagement parties. Brings a sense of renewal along side the tragedy of death.

Estes Park was the perfect setting for Yowling Yetis with the natural wilderness, fall, and a host of characters to believe or not believe in Yetis. Toss in engagement parties and bridal showers along with some new bakery creations from Katie and you have an enjoyable kickback escape book.
