Empaths are highly sensitive people-only around 20% of people have their special abilities. Empaths, in particular, are in tune with emotions. With their highly sensitive mirror neurons that tend to fire stronger than those of average people, the empath is able to see someone else and suddenly feel as though he or she is feeling the same energy that the other person is. Just at a glance, the empath can go from perfectly content to a blind fury, all because of this propensity to absorb the energy of people around them.

Although I am interested in the subject and plan to read the rest of the book. However, there are serious editing issues. Things spelled wrong, sentences run on or don’t make grammatical sense. This book is in serious need of an editor. It also mentions things to reefer to in previous chapters that are not there. All of this makes it confusing. In the first chapter. It lists all the negatives and positives of being an empath. It would have been nice if it had bullet points, not just set up in paragraphs. This is a sentence from the first chapter. “Their nature of being too much sensitive makes them get hurt by everything small they sense from those around them.” I get what the author is saying but the word usage is confusing. Where was your editor Ronan and you should fire them.

2.3 stars. A few good points but not much depth besides recognize a narcissist and then get away from them. Then a random aromatherapy section dropped in. And I personally don’t agree that there is no way an empath can also have narcissistic tendencies. Maybe I am just not finding much well written self-help books lately. They just all seem placid, trite and thinly researched. Need some more grit and depth.

"Good Read With Direct Application"
Really appreciated the words, examples, and connections she makes to understanding the types of empathy. Good question, self reflection and identification for empathy.
