I don’t have time for distractions. Which means I don’t have time for her. I’m the best collegiate pitcher in the country, playing for one of the best college teams in the country. I’m going to be the number one pick in the MLB draft and I’m going to be the best pitcher in professional baseball. But I need to take care of business this year and that means no distractions. Lila Oakley won’t get out of my face, though. And it’s not a face I mind looking at. I don’t mind looking at any part of her, actually. But she wants to write a story about me and I never should’ve made that stupid bet. Because now? Now I’m afraid she’s going to figure out the one thing I’ve been hiding from everyone. The one thing that could ruin everything. Throwing Heat is the first book in The Baymont Bombers series. It is a full length New Adult romance. It contains mature themes, sexual content, and profanity. If you're not a fan of those things, this isn't the book for you. But if you like serious stuff mixed with lots of bad words, some sweaty sex, and a whole team of smoking hot baseball players, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU. It is the first in a ten book series.

I've really enjoyed McKayla's previous books set in high school, so I was excited to see her make the leap to a little older H/h. She has not disappointed!

Houston and Lila are seniors at Baymont University. Houston is the star baseball pitcher and Lila is a journalist on the school newspaper who has tried to write a profile story on him for the past 4 years but has been unsuccessful in getting an interview with Houston. One night at the party house (Houston's house he shares with other baseball players), they make a bet, which Lila wins (you have to read the story to see what the bet was). Houston has to agree to let Lila follow him around and interview him to gather info for her story. She comes across a tidbit of information that Houston is reluctant to shed light on and that causes trouble between them.

There was just a little bit of a mystery, no angst, but I still enjoyed the story. I would love to see an epilogue or maybe we're getting more of Houston and Lila in the next book (fingers crossed!)

This was an entertaining story. Though to be honest, Lila was a bit annoying and Houston was a bit arrogant. But underneath, they are actually likeable characters who as dong what they need to in order to obtain their goals. Lila and Houston had a sizzling chemistry and I loved how they had such great friends to support them.

I was really excited to see that Mckayla has a new book, a new series no less. I liked everything about this story. The hero was really good, the dual, first person point of view is a deal breaker for me.
Definitely excited about the rest of the series.

Lovely, steamy love story. Lots of twists. Lots of tension. Lots of great characters that help drive Hunter's and Lila's love story to it's natural end. Really enjoyable read.
