Steel Roses #3

Vicious Chaos

Rate this book
I never cared if I lived or died.

For eight years I lived as a mess of broken pieces that never could fit back together quite right.

Eight years of training. Of building an empire. Of fighting. Of just surviving. Of letting my heart beat for revenge.

Only revenge.

Eight years of not really living at all.

While I was living half a life, I didn’t realize all that was being built up around me.

A home. A family. A place to belong.

Ways to soothe my broken edges until I feel almost whole again.

Something to lose. Something to miss. Something to protect.

I don’t wanna die anymore. But I’ll never give up my revenge.

Good thing it’s not just me seeking vengeance anymore.

Lines are drawn. Moves are made.

New alliances are formed while old ones burn to the ground.

We are done holding back, even if it mean the streets of St Graves are stained red.

Let’s go to war.

Oh my god, I don’t know how Scarlett keeps track of all of these men in her harem. There are five (Luca, Kade, Declan, Ryder, and Noah). I can’t even name five men that I like. Although the smutty scenes that these six create, phewwww. It’s quite nice. (Um especially ✨that✨ scene on the car after things went boom) I love how well they know Scar. It makes my heart melt. This book made me laugh a lot. Their antics and banter are just so amusing.

This was another fan-freaking-tactic edition to the Steel Roses series. Also, like nonchalantly and no biggie but this book absolutely destroyed my heart, and I’ll never get over it. Thanks, Samantha. (Not mad. Just hurt)😂 can’t wait for the next one! (That cliffie was mean)

* I received an arc for my honest review *

Scar and her gang are back in another exciting and emotional read! I love that we got to see their relationships develop more. I loved the addition of Rachel and Alec. I'd love to get more from them. I missed Rowan having more of a part in this story but loved the little I did get of her, she is just too adorable.

This book did start off a little slower for me and it took me a little while to fully get into but some twists were thrown in at just the right times to suck me into this story. As per the others, this book had parts that broke my heart and had me crying. And that ending was as frustrating as always for leaving me hanging lol. I can't wait for the final book so we can see Scar get her final revenge!

OMG, Samantha really? You and GN are trying to kill me. I loved it! Well, most of it (you know what I'm talkin' bout). Thank you for giving us more background on Declan, it helped explain why he sometimes has a stick up his butt. Excellent work weaving Jade's story into the plot without giving away any details. Anyone who hasn't read her story yet will be running to it.

Just when I think I have a favorite guy, Noah has always been the front runner, you go and give me feels for another one (Ryder, and maybe Declan a wee bit). I will ask a favor, we need more Ty, I fell for him in Black Hallows, he needs a HEA. And um, while I'm asking, how did Dark and Douchy become Dark and Douchy?

We women need to channel our inner Scar, well maybe not the stabby part unless absolutely called for, and create our own Chaos.

Scar and her Merry Band of Psychos are back and maybe even better than before. I love how far Scar have come since we met her first time. She's trusting her guys more and more. Also I love how she have her own thing with each of her guys. I like all of her guys but Noah and Kade are my faves. Every scene where they are together are just perfect. Can't wait to read next book.

An ARC was provided in exhange for an honest review.

Oh wow! Why Samantha? Why did you do it? You made me love him in this book just to kill him off. The heartbreak for the last few chapters was unbearable and it made me cry.

Uf, I got it off my chest and now to review the whole book. Vicious chaos starts right where Deadly chaos left off. Scar and her men are preparing for war with Romano and they know they won’t come out of it unscratched. They just don’t know yet the high price they will pay.
I truly admire Scar for the long way she’s come. She is mending her broken pieces and is healing thanks to her men and it’s so nice to see. I think she’s finally starting to come to the terms that she is not alone anymore, that it’s okay to need to lean on someone once in a while. Samantha did a really great job in this aspect of the book. And not only with Scar, but with some of her men as well.
We also get to know Declan's past and see him slowly fit in the group.
What I love most on this series is that every man brings something to Scar. In Vicious Chaos we got to see how important it is yet again.
I can’t forget to mention Rachel. I love her so much and I thought I would love to read her book. But I don’t want to anymore. Because after what happened, I couldn’t handle it. It would just hurt too much.
And the cliffhanger? After the emotional roller coaster? I just hope it isn’t the guy we got to meet in the prologue and that it won’t erase all the progress Scar made.
Last thing. It would be better to read Jade’s story first before diving into Vicious Chaos. It’s mentioned in the foreword as well. I read VCh without reading Jade’s book, because I just couldn’t find it in me to read it and I got the feeling I was missing a huge part of the story. Maybe one day I will get myself to go through her story with her.

My oh my Sam Bee, you've only gone and bloody done it again. The Steel Roses world is the gift that just keeps on giving and I never want to leave St. Graves or our band of merry Psychos!

Words don't it justice, because every book in this series is outstanding and each book gets bloodier and more intense. It makes me almost nervous for the four and final book! 😬😂

This whole story of Scar on her way to get revenge, leaving a line of blood and bodies trailing her, is so full of substance, its hyper vivid, gory and detailed. But even as the war against Romano continues and certainly nobody has forgotten the brief and the main objective, I do feel like we get so much more relationship building in this one.

Book 2 saw secrets, struggles and vulnerability being revealed and I LOVE how we now get to see how each relationship gets more emotional and deep. And I've said it from book 1, it's Kade for me. You shouldn't pick in a RH but I do, I pick him and I always will, he is next level perfection! 😍

But of course, Kade being the star of the show in my eyes takes no limelight away from all the other beloved Psychos in Scar's mighty fine Harem. Luca, Ryder, Noah and Declan, beautiful brooding men! Each so amazing and each providing something that Scar needs to carry out what she needs to do and also to ground her when it gets too much.

I fricken loved seeing how Jade's book overlapped here too, her book was epic and I'll always be happy to relive it, especially from different POVs, this was such an amazing touch to the flow of the story! 👏🏻

Word of warning, this is the penultimate book to the series, so you should fully expect one hell of a cliffy, and yes, Sam delivered this with no hesitation! 😩

As usual, a 5 star masterpiece from the dark queen! 🖤

It’s so nice to be back in St Graves where war is brewing like a pot of fresh coffee. This is book is thick and I still wanted more. I simply can’t get enough of these characters and the storyline, while fast-paced has so much detail it’s hard not to get swept up in everything happening.

At the end of the last book, Scar tells the rest of the guys her secret. She also started opening up more and letting herself feel emotions. Because of that, this book focused a lot on the relationships between Scar and her men. I loved seeing all of them express their feelings and show their love. While we still got lots of blood and mayhem, but it was a nice bonus to have some lovey-dovey parts also. We also get some serious steam. I mean Sammi went all out to make sure Scar was satisfied and I’m not complaining. The team is still at war with Romano and there is a lot of back and forth with them trying to one-up each other. It’s a fight to see who’s stronger, smarter, and can make it to the end. But even though Scar is going after Romano she has her sights on others and he is her ticket to get to them. We get some amazing scenes with Rachel and Alec as they get brought into the fold and I grew to love their characters. There is also another added character that I have a feeling we will be seeing some more of.

Pretty sure Sammi has been reading too many books with cliffhangers in them cause she shocked me with this ending. I thought she was going to be nice after the rollercoaster of emotions she put me through, but nope. Had to go and mess with my heart and head. It’s okay though, I plan on retaliating. Hope she is ready for the glitter bomb coming her way.

If you haven't read the other books in this series, STOP, go back and read them first. This book begins where Deadly Chaos ends, although the prologue takes us back to Scar's past first. If you read Damaged and Deadly, which is Jade's story, you will recognize some scenes in this book as they are told through different points of view.

Rachel's been stabbed and shows up on Scar's doorstep proclaiming Jade is her sister. Collapsing in Scar's arms right after that declaration, Scar yells for Declan even as Jade passes out in the corner with Ian and Mikey helps her with Rachel. Alec shows up next angry and concerned, but Scar needs answers to what is going on. Not surprised Romano was behind it, or that Michael, William's next in command was the one to attack Rachel.

While they are waiting for the next move, things get even bloodier as they root out the spies in their organization.

They also make a startling discovery when Jade is attacked by Ciar, Romano's son. Jade was chipped and Ciar had been tracking her every move. This solidifies the need for Jade and Britt to learn the tunnels.

While they recap everything Noah surprises her with his talents on the computer.

As predicted the streets of St. Graves get bloodier. The alliance between Rachel and Scar becomes closer.

Specific targets taken out, with lots of kindle melting scenes in between. A new character introduced, Alec's twin brother Nicholis. More of Dare the bartender/dancer, I love this girl!

Plenty of back and forth, twists and turns, ups and downs, laughter and OMG the tears.

I can't wait for the next book. I need so much more!!!

Samantha's done it again... Shatter my heart that is. Just to be perfectly clear.

It was amazing to be reading about Scar and her merry band of psychos again.

This book takes place on the same timeline as Damaged & Deadly. I LOVED being able to see what was happening with Scar and the guys after reading Jade's story.

It's no surprise that in Vicious Chaos we were welcomed back with well... chaos.

War is brewing and tensions have never been higher. Scar and Romano go head to head, and all is not fair in love and war.

Sam dragged us through the pits of hell with emotional turmoil in this book, and honestly, sign me the fuck up to go through that rollercoaster again, please.

It's no secret that one of my favourite things about Sam's books is the way she writes. It's raw, it's real, and it's beautiful. Weaved between the brand of violence and mayhem we've come to adore as her readers are the softer, more emotional sides of each character. That's where you can find me on the floor sobbing or swooning, sometimes both... okay not sometimes, most of the time.

This book contains all of my fave things in a dark romance book. Violence, new and interesting murder scenes, plot twists, tension, and SPICE.

Sweet Jesus, the spice. The shower scene.. the other shower scene, the one with Kade.. you know, THAT scene... ALL OF IT. So friggin good!!

I'm ngl to ye, the cliffy is real but I'm okay with that. I'm dying to get my hands on Beautiful Chaos. I can't wait to see how all of this is going to be wrapped up. I'm excited but nervous.

This is a series I have fallen deeply in love with and will forever be screaming at everyone to read!

Rounding up from 4.5

Revenge is the name of the game in the dark and bloody third installment of the Steel Roses series.

Most of this book has Scar and her Merry Band of Psychos planning for their final blow against Romano, and it’s a bit of a cat and mouse game as each side aims to send a message to the other. I’m always blown away at how Sam methodically portrays the intricacy and mechanics of Scar’s operation. And it’s this level of detail that had me completely captivated and unwilling to put this book down.

Alongside the action there are plenty of sizzling hot moments with Scar and her men. Also some much needed one on one time with couple of the guys that haven’t got as much attention in the previous books which I loved. Scar’s growth and development over the course of the series is remarkable, and I loved seeing her finally embrace and express her feelings. While I’m obsessed with Scar the bloodthirsty assassin, I also appreciate Scar the Mom and Scar the friend. These complex layers to her character is what makes Scar one of my favorite leading ladies.

All of the planning and plotting culminates in a final act that brings the gang success as well as heartache. Follow that up with a WTF cliffhanger and I’m chomping at the bit to get my hands on the final book. Another amazing book in Scar’s journey and can’t wait for Beautiful Chaos!

Ravishing Steel Roses.

I loved this books as much as the other 2. I seriously can't wait for the 4th. It was absolutely a massacre and heart breaking to lose loose the people she carried about. I weeped for Alec as Rachel screamed for him as Letty held on with all her might. His death hurt me to the core. I even had denial that maybe he was just kidnapped. Taken somewhere to think he was dead. I'm not sure I'd be so forgiven but it just brought them even closer. I cant wait til she gets the revenge she seeks. And it will be sad for the series to end. On another note. There needs to be more Luca and Letty. I mean the were 1st. Even if not together. The love was there always. She is always with the others but we don't see much of him with her. We need more hot scenes with Luca and Letty. Not that the others aren't hot but I need more of Luca. I was attached to him from the beginning. I really has taken a turn. Even tho they were equals he always seemed to be the boss. Hint why she calls him bossman. But still it's like she has taken over and don't even give Luca time of day as boss anymore. You'd understand when you read 1st and 2nd book. Anyways bring Luca in more. We need it. There was only 2 scenes with him as there was tons with the other. Please and thank you lol. Jk but still need more Luca. He was suppose to be the leader after all in a sense.

The storytelling in the book is masterful. This is the third book in the Steel Roses series, and the pace has picked up quite a lot from each book to the next. There is so much going on in this story as Scar, her men, and their allies go up against Romano. It’s a beautiful blend of violence, spice, and heart. Emotions run high throughout this book and it absolutely ripped my heart to shreds. The build up to the climactic ending in the penultimate book was perfectly paced. The story starts out slowly and builds and builds until it all goes BOOM and takes your heart with it. There is an excellent balance in the POV changes between Scar and each of the guys. Heartfelt conversations and painful revelations add depth to the bloody war happening around them. The spice is scorching 🥵 and wonderfully dirty. The ending is a shocking lead-in to the next, and last, book in the Steel Roses series.

Jade’s book, Deadly & Damaged, is a standalone that has a decent overlap with Vicious Chaos and features the same characters, only told from different perspectives. You don’t have to have read on to read the other, but I feel that it does lead to a richer understanding of the World of Chaos connected universe.

Well…I’m not sure how I feel right now. This book was a hard read for me. I could not for the life of me get into this book. Now, I absolutely loved the previous two but there was something about Vicious Chaos that just didn’t sit well with me. At the beginning of the book SB recommend that you read Jade’s book but it isn’t necessary. Not true….it IS necessary. I was confused a bit thinking that I missed something or misread…nope. I really dislike when authors write a standalone and say that it doesn’t need to be read as part of the series but is suggested. It clearly needed to be read to understand certain events happening. For example, the things that happened in chapter 33 with a certain popsicle. As reading this I’m saying to myself WTF!!??? Did I miss something. Flipped back to last chapter…nope didn’t miss anything. Ugh!!! So frustrating! Ok…mini rant over.

Even though this wasn’t my favorite out of the series I’m not giving up. That ending had me thinking all sorts of things trying to figure out who called out our h by name! I have my suspicions but can’t wait to read what craziness Sam puts out next. *chef’s kiss*

Review Vicious Chaos (Steel Roses Book 3) by Samantha Bee 5/5⭐

It was wonderful to be back with these characters. In their chaotic world of darkness and mission of revenge they find light in each other. Was that corny oh well I thought that so I'm writing it poo

There is light in these dark charathers when together. And humar, dark humar, it's a dark romance but there are so many funny and fantastic moments with these characters. Kade just continues to make me love him and defy who my favorite type of character tends to be. This book picks up right where the last one left off. Its very much a continuation of the ongoing storyline. And fills in events from Damaged and Deadly as well.

They are in full-on war mode. And passions run high with a lot of great scenes. Buckle up for steam ahead. I also loved learning more about Declan. There's just something about him ever since he won me over in one chapter last book. Sometimes I forget he wasn't in the first book. This book has so many great scenes. I really love these characters. It's also a roller coaster and Samantha Bee is good at pulling at your heart.

So excited for more from a world of chaos. And Steal Roses.

dark and dirty, just the way I like it!

Vicious Chaos is book 3 of the Steel Roses Series, and book four from A World Of Chaos. I would highly recommend reading Both of the Steel Roses books and Damaged & Deadly first.

This book is a hybrid of view points, encompassing both the end of Deadly Chaos, and half of Damaged & Deadly. We see Scar progress with her war against Romano, and how he retaliations effect those around her. We learn so much about her, as she builds her family, that I feel like we are sufficiently worked up(in both violence, and in seggs) throughout those series. This book is definitely a warm up for a finale, a crescendo of destruction and heat that has built up like a steam locomotive. I binged this book in less than a day, and I fully cannot wait for book four, because that cliffhanger 😱 Also, these were some of the most descriptive and most detailed steamy scenes I’ve read in a while, and 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I need more.

Story: 5/5
Heat 🔥: 5/5 the car scene, the morning after scene! 😱🥵
Darkness 🖤: 4/5 extreme graphic violence. Hints towards human trafficking, sexual abuse.

Another great book in Scar's story

This one took me a while to get into, probably about 20% I think it was the stuff from Jade's story told from Scar's perspective as it felt like I had already read it and I'm not a fan of the rereads. Then it went straight to a lot of steam and I was dying for the story to progress. Once that was done I for into it and found it enjoyable.

Side note...I definitely recommend reading Jade's book first, it is mentioned in the foreward but not everyone reads those. Technically it's a stand alone but you'll be missing information in my opinion if you don't.

There was a lot of steam in this one a lot a lot, Scar's relationship with the guys is more concrete after the events of book two and the guys are really finding their places in her life. We find out more about Declan in this one as he was quite elusive and stand offish in the last book.

Samantha Bee hurt me with this one and it wasn't even the cliffie even though I didn't like being left there either. When you read it you'll know!

There was a good dose of action which I love cos Scar is a badass and there is certainly chaos, is it vicious I will let you decide.

Emotionally Charged and Absolutely Perfect

Ah, yes. Scar and her merry band of Psychos!

"We are a psycho match made in Heaven, or maybe it was hell."

This book truly had a bit of everything. Samantha, you evil genius, I love you.

Scars journey has been so full of ups and downs and I never know what will be coming next. This was a heavy book. She thiccc! Full of action, gore, murder, mayhem and all the good steam too.

Shattered Chaos and Deadly Chaos exposed us to the issues that St. Graves would face, and it ramps up in Vicious. As the title suggests, some of it is downright vicious. *insert evil laugh*

"We thrive in chaos, revel in the blood, love with a fierceness, and excel when we have a vendetta. The war's not over, it's just getting started."

But what would the story be without some truly emotional damage, dealing with trauma and the heartbreakingly beautiful way that Sam writes.

I was not ready for the end of the book, and I cannot wait to see what's next in Beautiful Chaos. Until then, I may just continue to cry from withdrawal.

First I loved how Scar’s relationships are progressing with the guys and how she’s trying to be more open and actually likes how it makes her feel when she sees their happiness. She’s definitely come a long way and I’m so proud of her growth. And here are the spoilers….SAMANTHA YOU RIPPED MY HEART OUT WITH ALEC’S SCENE. please please please, I’m hoping and praying that it’s not true, that maybe he was taken from the building by the enemy before it went up in flames and he’s gonna be found weeks or months later in some dank cellar after being tortured all that time…anything would be better than him being dead. I couldn’t stop crying for Rachel, her reaction tore me apart. As for Charles, I can’t wait to see the reaction of the harem when they come face to face with one of Scar’s personal demons. I’m also very excited and nervous to see her reaction at running into him because I don’t think it’s ever happened like this before. Usually confrontations happen on Scar’s terms and she’s in control but she’s in no way prepared to see Charles so I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Urgh those last few chapters

This was kind of a bit boring, never thought I'd say that, but unless you've read Jade's book (which thankfully I have), I genuinely don't think you'd have had even half a clue about half the storylines. I know the author says you don't need to have read Jade's story but honestly you really really do so many things are mentioned that happened in that book that you wouldn't understand without having read it. Not a whole lot happens for the first 75% of the book, but then omg then the last 25% is so good in such a painful way. I was NOT expecting what happened, and it was devestating. I'm full of a bad bad flu right now and crying my eyes out was not helpful at all!! And that cliffhanger ending whilst predicted and expected was still bone chilling. I had a feeling from the prologue that we'd be meeting people's from Charlottes past eventually.

Samantha Bee wasnt playing with this book!!

This is a dark RH and the 3rd book in Scars story. Vicious Chaos picks up right where we left off in Deadly Chaos.

Things are getting crazy and the war is on with Romano. Scar has finally claimed all her men, and they claimed her right back. They are now Mommy and The Daddies and I LOVE IT!!!

Luca, Kade, Noah, Ryder, and Declan are all amazing, and all in with Scar. And I'm obsessed with little Roe baby!

The spice in this book is top tier, panty melting AMAZINGNESS. I was having to fan myself during certain parts!

There is revenge, bloody messages on walls, a lot of chaos, but also a lot of feelings. Scar and the guys relationships grow so much, and they really have helped her heal so much.

But that cliffhanger!?!?!? Sam, you are evil!!!!! I can't freaking wait for Beautiful Chaos!

Having read Shattered Chaos, Deadly Chaos, and Damaged and Deadly I couldn't wait for more! I had to pick up this third installment as soon as i could and got right back into the Steel Roses world! I enjoyed it!

Scar and Her men's journey continues! I wasn't sure what all was going to happen next with these characters and that had me even more into their story. I loved getting more of these characters and digging deeper with them. I felt so many emotions throughout with all of them! It definitely kept me on my toes. The steam was great as well!

With Vicious Chaos, Ms.Bee has created such a good read that will pull you in! I can't wait to dive back into the Steel Roses world with the fourth installment, Beautiful Chaos!

When I thought I was through all swirls of emotions, the plot here thickens and some rather unexpected events take place that threw me into another upheaval of anxious anticipation.
Alongside the main characters, I am loving some of the side characters and I have to say that Rachel has picked my interest. It appears that her and Scar have more in common than meets the eye.
The solid bind between Scar and her men is getting stronger with every new challenge thrown their way. It was good to glimpse into Declan's background as he was probably the one, who was kind of in n the sidelines for me despite laying a major role in Letty's battle with her own demons.
The book is a pure and utter thrill, the brewing war at Scar's doorstep is just about to reach its peak and I cannot wait to see whether vengeance would be the sweetest reward.

Each book in the series gets better and better! I’m jolted back into the world of blood, mayhem and fun as Scar and her merry band of psychos are in a battle to keep everything around them safe and protected. The war against Romano rages on. Just when they think they are 2 steps ahead, Romano is right there with an extra step. Makes me wonder if there’s such thing as a double agent in this type of scenario. Even with all the things going on, Scar and her men don’t forget the one good thing that grounds them. Precious little Roe Baby. Absolutely love how the guys just melt for their little girl. I also really enjoyed watching the side characters’ relationships develop and blossom. That cliffy wasn’t brutal but it was definitely a good WTF moment.

@samantha bee really knocked it out the park with this one!

Loved it as much as I’ve loved every book in this series. Scar and her men are so perfect for each other and doing so good while going so much bad.

I also love the side characters Jade and Dare and Rachel. I hope they all get their own side story even novellas.

The ending though my friend! You best be fixing that I cannot even handle what you did!

Ruthless, Merciless, Vicious

Deadly Chaos ended with rescuing Noah, making the team declare war on Romano, and a subplot into Jade's storyline, Damaged & Deadly, with Ciar obsessive hunting.

Two main themes along with the subplot parallelism:
1) Coming to terms with emotions and her feelings towards her men, as well as accepting their feelings and emotions. The goal they move with chapter to chapter as they declare their love.
2) To systematically bring down Romano and his elusive clientele while Scar's true identity remains hidden.

🔥🔥🔥

“We live in the shades of gray and that’s infinitely more complex and beautiful than the sheltered view of a black and white world.”

That quote hit me hard and speaks to me in ways I cannot explain. It is the very essence of Scar, her men and the family she has built for herself.

Samantha has a way with words, is amazing at continuously building these people and adding more layers to them. There are so many people in this world and every single one of them has a story to be told…and she tells it, makes you connect to each and every one of them! Immerse yourself in the Steel Roses world, you will not be disappointed!

Ughh this book was everything: hot, violent, bloody, sweet and heartbreaking.

So much is going on.

Scar is stepping out of her comfort zone and is dealing with her feelings for her guys. Their relationships are healing and growing, it was amazing to see this for her. It was also HOT.

The war is brewing against Romano and they have taken some losts and are trying to come back from them. Rachel is becoming a steady ally and friend in Scar’s corner.

After that cliffhanger, I am more than eager to find out what the hell happens next. We get closer and closer for Scar’s revenge to fully play out, but not without heavy losts. I need more!!

So sometimes you come across a series you think why didn't I read this sooner? Well this for sure is one in that category. It is dark and when this series launched first I wasn't sure if I liked dark romance. But yeah I totally do like it though. This is part of a series and reading in order is a must! It is so good and I love the world created with Scar at the center. Beware of the bookhangover you'll for sure will have but I am so pumped for the next. Also I like big books and I can't lie. I love that this is a larger book so I don't finish it in 2 hours but it took me some time and I love being submerged into another life. Well done!
