With each review, I provide a Cleanliness Report, mentioning any objectionable content I come across so that parents and/or conscientious readers (like me) can determine beforehand whether they want to read a book or not. Content surprises are super annoying, especially when you’re 100+ pages in, so here’s my attempt to help you avoid that!

Such a neat idea! Really love the ideas for making collages with leaves. Lots of fun. Good descriptions for putting the collages together and the book includes some scientific info, too.
I actually read this book last year. It's such a great mix of art theory and informational text about the science behind leaves changing color. I love all the different examples and even made my own owl last year! It is such a great fall project for kids and adults alike.
Students were read this story in class. After the story, the students went outside and collected different leaves to make their leaf animals. They loved the project.
Oh, wow, I really really want to do this. The craft is almost free & easy enough for me, and the results connect to trees, which are my favorite beings outside of my family. I definitely appreciate the art notes (re' materials etc.) as well as the examples... and also the chapter on the science (chlorophyll etc,) and the identification key. Highly recommended for teachers and home-schoolers of art and biology, also for crafters of any age.
This is a good nonfiction book to add to the leaf study projects. It has lots of projects to make with leaves, as well as science-based information for background knowledge. The glossary has a pictorial/text-based glossary to help identify leaves. Grades K-4 will enjoy this as an art reference book and as a science reference book.
What a cool book! It shows the reader how to make artwork using leaves. Kindergarteners and 1st graders could use this as a picture resource, but 2nd and 3rd graders could read the instructions themselves. Very user-friendly, down to what materials to gather. I found it interesting that the author is from Iran. I'd like to have this book.
A simple idea taken to a high level of finish in the presented examples (see peacock). But anyone can be inspired by the artist's accomplished artworks and give their own a try. Fun, creative book to use with any group for a nature art activity.
Definitely a great reference for projects using leaves. I will refer to this book for future projects with my grand kids when the time comes. Beautiful ideas from simple to spectacular!!
This is the most awesome how-to/non-fiction book I've seen in a long time. I know what we'll be working on this weekend... Making super-cool leaf creations!
