After saving Shino from AIDA and Ovan, Haseo decides he's done with The World...until he receives a letter from Aina, Ovan's little sister and the first of the Lose Ones. Looks like Haseo has one job to do before he can leave this battleground forever!
Totally unexpected volume. I thought the story was done with Vol. 3 until I happened to see this one on the shelf at the bookstore. There seemed to be a lot going on with this one--Haseo's unrequited love, Atoli's unrequited love, CC Corp taking over the G.U. Project, Ovan being "alive" somewhere, and a plan to revive Aura. It was a little hard to keep track of, and I was confused at some parts. But the .hack story is wonderful as always! (July 2009)

After the ending of Volume 4 I was very...displeased, let's say. I wanted Atoli/Chigusa to have a larger role in the series. Which I'm pleased to say she does in this one <3
This volume is where the manga and the games differ the most, giving you more on their real lives as well as a very different version of what happens after Ovan disappears.
