He’s been living in the shadows of his siblings his whole life. Now he’s in a race against them to the Culling’s final four. Elijah Reed knew qualifying for the Culling was possible, but as the youngest Reed, he was never expected to follow in his parents’ footsteps. When he finds himself immersed in the Culling anyway, he is skeptical from the get-go. Eli’s skepticism only increases after several shady candidates survive multiple cuts and evidence of an inside traitor surfaces. Eli realizes he can no longer remain neutral and blend into the background as he has always done. He must ensure a trustworthy couple wins the presidency—whether it includes him or not. With the future of the country at stake and danger looming, can a viable pairing really win it all? Can Eli find a Culling partner and be one of those viable options? And after a reckless decision that changes everything, will he take a chance on love before it’s too late? *The Elijah is the third of four books in the spinoff for The Culling series. Not a standalone novel.
Tricia Wentworth is the award-winning author of The Culling series. Though she began writing at a young age, she didn’t realize her love of writing would take over until after she graduated college with her teaching degree. She currently resides in Nebraska with her husband, three sons, and English bulldog. She hoards notebooks, pretty pens, books, and tea. When not reading, writing, or momming, she can be found squeezing in a run or feeding her sugar addiction by baking something ridiculously delicious.
My favorite of the series so far! Eli is such a bada$$! He really shares a great perspective on how the “other” Reed child was seen. He is smart and a great character. I loved the twist of who his partner becomes! What a story full of fun!
I loved this book the best of the three of the Legacy Series because I found that out of the three siblings I came to love Eli the most.
It is a continuation of the Culling series which takes place about twenty years after the final book. It's the story of the previous stories three children and their turn at the Culling. So much better and I love all the characters and found it so hard to put down. I finished it in one day and stayed up late in the night to finish it. Looking forward to more and hope this series - the Culling - never ends for it will be a sad day for sure!
I have been so excited for this release, after reading James and Kennedy’s books we finally get Elijah (my favorite 😏) Tricia Wentworth has done a good job of keeping him such a mystery through the first two books I was excited to learn more about him and who he finds as his woman. And I was not disappointed!! POWER COUPLE!! Bring on the final four tours and the election.
I waited excitedly for months for Elijah to come out after finishing Kennedy, and I’m glad to say I was not disappointed! I like that she strayed away from the typical outgoing personalities most of the pervious protagonists have had, and the love story (even though I predicted who his love interest would be) stayed super interesting. Overall a great read! But definitely read the others first like intended.
I am thoroughly enjoying this series. The story line, plots and characters are amazing. Equally important is beIng able to read a book all the way through without having to come across profanity and sex scenes. I feared that I would never find another decent book. Thank you Tricia for staying true to our Lord and not for not using filth to appeal to the readers.
The 3 different stories about each of them was needed, but the repetition of the same parts was a little boring to have to re-read, but also not sure how else the writer could have done it either. Bit I really enjoyed the whole premise of the storyline and love the characters.
COULD. NOT. PUT. THIS. ONE. DOWN. PERIOD. This one was SOOOO AWESOME!!:-). LOVED the romance, the excitement, the adventure, and just EVERYTHING!!!:-). The writing draws you in and keeps you turning the pages until you know even more in this EXCITING world!!:-). LOVED IT!!!:-)
I really enjoyed this series and the characters. It is done differently than any series I have read. All the 3 are the same basic story but told from a different character's perspective. I did get a bit tired of the same storyline sometimes but it was interesting to see it from each character's point of view.
Heroes, Heartache, Tenacity and a Presidency to Win
This series has been wonderful, and this book is no exception. At this point it's hard to decide whether to be on Team James, Team Kennedy or Team Elijah with their respective partners. Love the interactions, friendships, dialogue and intrigue. 5 🌟
It was interesting enough to finish so it give it 3. I'm disappointed that the word "smirked" was used approximately 1,009 times. Invest in a thesaurus? 😕 Sometimes I felt like I was listening to an episode of reality tv dating show. And finally, what kind of presidential voting system is so strictly heterosexual??? Only male-female partnerships eligible? Unacceptable. 🧑🤝🧑👬👭
I have loved this series! I can’t wait for the next book and see what happens. I figured Eli and Cassie would end up together but I never thought it would happen like it did! I’m not sure who I really want to win!!
