True love.
That’s what everyone wants, isn’t it?
A love that would stand the tests of time.
A relationship that would never falter.
A person to grow old with.
That’s what I wanted when I signed up for all of those dating apps.
There were so many people out there looking for the same thing I was.
One of them was bound to be the one, right?
My one?

True love.
What a crock.
More like true despair.
All I received for my efforts was a stalker that turned my every fantasy into a nightmare.
A man that built up my hopes just to destroy them.
And a game that had deadly consequences.

So, you know what?
F*ck waiting for true love.
I’ll take it from the one I choose.

Entertaining romantic suspense

Shelly appears to have finally found fulfilling love in boyfriend Griffin, her perfect match met through an app. Unfortunately, there is a stalker who is also claiming Shelly as his own, leaving "gifts" at each secret encounter. Enter police officers, John, a former boyfriend and his brother, Adam, who join in protecting her and an investigation into capturing the stalker.

More a suspense thriller with romantic overtures than a romance novel, it was classic film noir having me constantly theorize who the stalker might be. Jealous-possessive heroes, this story also contained those along with strong sexual tension paralleling mystery. I also often left wondering / hoping for a single character-romance, a ménage, or a reverse harem.

Character development was good and although apart from surfer boy Griffin with his blond, curly hair and blue eyes, other key male characters were defined by their muscles. Shelly was simply portrayed as beautiful. I missed knowing how they all looked and other behavior qualities they possessed which would have enriched the reading experience. I wouldn't call this a spicy romance. The steam level was virtual non-existent. Then again, the strength of this story was in its mystery, the game of figuring out who the stalker was, his motives, and once discovered, the outcome of all the relationships. I could easily see this book extended or reworked into a larger story with added character development and spice.

Overall, an enjoyable read. Although a novella, it was rather rich for its length. Knowing the end, I am now compelled to re-read the book and see what clues, behaviors, and character placement I might not have taken note of that may have helped me foresee the ending. And yes, the ending... I have questions.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful, steamy and I was very engaged the whole time I was reading it. The one thing that is holding me back from 5*'s is that there was some things that we hear from the stalkers perspective that didn't make sense to me when we found out who he was. Either there are small continuity errors or I misread something, either way it confused me a little bit and I had to go back a few times to the stalker chapters and reread them, then reread the ending. I suppose this confusion isn't really a bad thing, I did read the book twice in 24 hrs to try to see what clues I may have missed and I enjoyed it both times.

One More Click is a short, dark stalker romance.

Shelley, tired of all the duds on dating apps, finally found herself a match. He’s everything she’s been looking for and more. He’s even there to protect her when it seems someone is out to get her.

Griff, smitten with Shelly, will do anything to protect her and keep her for himself. Even if it will cost him his career.

The Stalker doesn't want to see Shelly with anyone else. He will do whatever it takes to stop it.

There were times I thought I knew who the stalker was but some things in the story didn’t add up even when my thoughts were confirmed. For that I did drop a star, maybe if it were longer we could have more insight into that part of the plot and it would have flowed better.

Read responsibly.

Hold up...What the hell just happened?!?!?!?

I had to read the last chapter like 3-4 times to make sure I read this right. Geeeez! Okay, first off, incredible story. If you are looking for romance, you're not going to get it here, there may be a lot of steam, but no romance. Second, this makes me NOT want to use dating apps/sites 😂. This *anonymous* guy, went through a lot of trouble, it seemed exhausting. Third, that did not go, how I thought it would go, this leaves you guessing every character, guessing everything and things are definitely not what it seems. This was a fast pace, suspenseful, quick and easy read. I really enjoyed it!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I started it one evening planning to read a few chapters and ended up staying up and inhaling it whole.

Shelly finds her perfect match through an app. A stalker has other ideas.

This was one of those stories that I kept trying to jump ahead but failed.

That ending.. like seriously!!!! Can’t wait to read more from this author.

This book sucked me right in. Right from the beginning this book had me stuck.
It was angsty and steamy, and a little creepy which I loved.
I was sure I had it figured out, but I was definitely wrong. Everytime a new scene started found myself trying to piece the puzzle together but was never able too. That ending was a complete shock.
There was a few instances with the stalker that were a little confusing, as I ended the book with questions.

One More Click by C.E. Lashua is a contemporary suspense romance.

The book comes with a warning/caution "One More Click is a contemporary suspense with dark themes, violence, and sexual content that some readers may find triggering. Recommended for readers 18+ due to mature content."

This is the third book of Cait's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I was pulled in from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. Through the whole book I kept trying to guess who the Stalker could be. When they are revealed at the end I had to sit and rethink about all the clues Cait had given throughout the book. I really enjoyed getting Shelly and the Stalkers points of view throughout the book.

I would recommend this book if you like romantic suspense.

What Just Happened?

YEET

That’s how I feel at the end of this book. Like why? How? Who?

HOW CAN YOU END THE BOOK LIKE THAT?!?!?

Shelly has a stalker and we get his POV along with her POV in this book.

I had NO CLUE who the stalker was until the very last page and then BAM 💥 it ended.

Why did it end that way?!?!?

This book had me hooked from the first page but the end left me very confused.

The story had potential to go in many different ways but the ending isn’t what I (personally) consider an HEA

Please tell me there’s going to be a 2nd book

One More Click is not what I was expecting -- I figured it would be a dating-app romance, but I somehow missed how dark this book was going to be. Still, it was an intriguing novella, more of a mystery with steamy romance scenes than a romantic suspense story.

We have Shelly, our beautiful heroine who meets Griffin, the perfect boyfriend on a dating app. Griff will do anything to protect Shelly. Then there's The Stalker, who wants Shelly for himself.

Every time I thought I knew where things were going, something else came out that had me second-guessing my thoughts. There are lots of twists and turns, tons of creepy happenings, and an obsessive psychopath that makes you wonder if you ever really know people.

There are clues dropped about The Stalker's identity here and there, and I thought it was brilliant that the alternate POV to Shelly's throughout this book was actually The Stalker. Not what I was expecting at all! But I had some questions by the end of the story that left me feeling somewhat unsatisfied...I plan to do a re-read and see if I can string together those breadcrumbs that I missed the first time around.

I received a complimentary copy and voluntarily left a review.

Wow…One More Click is dark, short and intense!! The storyline caught my attention just from the blurb and then from the first page till the last I was totally engrossed. After all in this day and age where we have a plethora or dating and match making apps and people making connections online it can get scary I am sure (I personally wouldn’t know as I met my hubby when I was 15 ½ and we married when I was 20 then had my first son at 21). But I have had some family members meet and marry someone from online. Anyway, I know I would be worried about meeting someone through a dating app and then having them turn on you, have guys just want to hook up, or like Shelly end up with a stalker. One More Click keeps you guessing and has a lot of drama, angst, secrets, revelations, and emotions. The ending was a definite shock! I mean totally 💯 shocking! This was my first book from C.E. Lashua, author, and it won’t be my last. I read so much that sometimes I can predict parts of the story or a variation of the it but C.E. Lashua caught me by surprise and kept me guessing. I love when that happens. Highly recommended One More Click and will be checking out other books from C.E. Lashua while waiting for her next book release!! Happy reading!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Story
🔥🔥🔥🔥Steamy
👥Well what did I just read! I was captivated by the story! This story is dark, obsessive, study in human nature and what masks we could hide behind.
👥Honestly I was heated with the ending and had to read this 3 times to digest what happened lol. Shelly has a stalker, and you assume it's from the dating app she had been on.
👥The stalker is messing up Shelly and her boyfriend Griffin's life. His surf competition gets interrupted. They end up in protective custody. Griffin isn't handling the appearance of one of Shelly's ex's along with the stalker.
👥I want more! I wasn't paying attention if this was a standalone or not. But I could easily read so much more of Shelly. I did enjoy the shorter novel format. Why I could read it 3 times in the same day lol.
👥C.E. Lashua bravo on the masterful foreshadowing and hints you hid in the text. I think it was my 3rd reread that I was able to follow the connections. It really was expertly done!

Shelly hasn't had any luck in the dating apps she's on, but then she finally found someone who she connected with, Griffin. However, she also got herself a stalker who is in it to win it, and what I found fascinating was we really get that POV throughout the story. I spent most of the story trying to figure out who this psychopath was with each new breadcrumb that this diabolically brilliant author dropped. The twists are crazy intense as they come in hot while I drop loud f-bomb after loud f-bomb while enjoying the fast paced plot filled with danger. Griff is in law enforcement, and he's determined to protect Shelly no matter what it does to his career. I would love to say more but I think i've said enough because I had so much fun going in blind so I'm telling you that if you're reading this, stop right there & hit those one click buttons as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

A stalker. One who swears he is in love with Shelley and that they are perfect for each other. They leave messages to her and scare her. This in turn brings in additional players. Ones that the stalker swears aren't good enough for her.

He knows they're perfect together, it's time she sees it too.

This book had me wondering who the stalker was. Constantly telling myself "maybe it's this one." Each incident making me believe I know who it is. I didn't. I was wrong.

Everything that happens, you are wondering how it's being pulled off and why it's happening. How she doesn't know who it is yet does. When it's finally revealed....let me tell you, you do not see it coming.

I would absolutely love more to this story because holy wow.

“This story was INSANE! Like it knocks you out no matter how prepared you might feel. I’ve never tried apps or sites for dates and probably would never… creepy much? I really don’t know how to explain without giving details but it was chaotic in a psycho way but also charming? It's harder than it seems to put it on words. Yeah, it was dark as expected and pretty intense in a captivating sort of way. I’m not complaining about the steam lol the hot the better right? Shout out to the author for this fascinating story. I’m not so used to stalker's stories cause the scare the h*ll out of me tbh but C.E. write such an addictive plot with angst and so much tension, it was brilliant! Utterly amazing! It was short story and I couldn’t have love it more. All the stars there’s no doubt.”

This is my 3.2 ⭐️ review.

I've got this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book wasn't bad at all! It's just not my genre, so it took me a little (way longer) to finish + I couldn't get myself invested into reading a book (that's completely my fault!).

The story is about a girl whose being chased or watched by a stalker and throughout the whole book you are trying to find out who it is!

I love crime and the unknown, but mostly as a TV show or a movie...I guess for books I'm just trying to relax, drink my tea and now having to figure out who's the "killer" or "stalker" in this book.

What I have to say is that you won't know who it is, until the very last page and nearly the very last line, which is AMAZING! Loved that small detail!

This book was a brilliantly twisted stalker romance. The unknown stalkers ppv adds so much depth and suspense and leaves you questioning who it could be.

There are so many questionable, obsessive men in this book that you think it could be each and everyone of them whilst simultaneously refusing to believe iys any of them.

Shelley is tormented by her stalker and the bloody gifts he leaves. He is everywhere and nowhere, all seeing and knowing. His attentions break her from the seemingly strong women to a fragile, fractured soul.

This book will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat till the very end.

Ok so not what I was expecting in a good way. This story while it's on the shorter side has it all. From the beginning you want to read it all and the story is relatable. I for one was like this myself so I can completely relate. My husband and I met online. Off topic here but in this era you are easily finding dates through apps. Listening to her mom finally and caving what's wrong waiting for MrRight when you can have MrRightnow. Well for one there are stalkers and they can turn pretty weird. The story will give you clues and you trying to figure it out. I do wish for the author to at one point extend the story and give us readers more POV's. Very well done and enjoyed.

Definitely worth it!

I'd been looking forward to this since the first day I saw anything about it; pre-ordered, waited, agonized over pre-order cancelation yet rejoiced at the fact that it would only get better, more perfect, pre-ordered again, got on the ARC team, and now here I am: devouring this whole on release day, so glad to have found this, and CE, and completely shocked!

What the heck was that ending about?!? How was all that possible?!? Soooo many questions, yet so happy with the ending and can't wait for more (will there be more?!? There better be more! 🤣😉)

That was not at all what I was expecting when I first started this story, but WOW! Did this book ever keep me guessing!
This was a pretty quick read that was fast paced and caught my attention from the very beginning! It definitely kept me on my toes the whole way through, constantly guessing and trying to predict what I thought the outcome would be.
This book had me racing through the pages, devouring the story, only to be totally mind boggled at the end!
I love an unpredictable story that can catch me totally off guard and this book certainly falls under that category!

This story caught my attention and I was excited to dig in! I was captivated from the beginning. It was fast paced and a quick read that left me wanting MORE of Shelly and her story! This was a suspenseful stalker romance and CE Lashua did an amazing job! It was very well written! It was dark and obsessive, just the way I like them. It kept me guessing the whole time trying to figure out who the stalker was. I'm glad we got his POV's, I loved seeing what was going on in his head. I was on the edge of my seat most of the time. I can't say enough good things about this book!!! 👏👏👏

Totally got hooked reading this.

Wow I so was not expecting the ending of this book!

This book had me gripped from the very beginning, there was so many twists and turns throughout. Shelly finally has her happy ending with Griff, but she also has a nasty stalker who has claimed her for his own and doesn’t want anyone else to have her.

Once I started reading I just could not put the book down! The storyline was amazing and grips you straight in.

Would absolutely recommend this book to all!!

Right off the bat this book hooked my attention. It's a short quick read and devoured it in one sitting. I loved this stories concept. It was intense and intriguing and I was continuously guessing who this mysterious stalker was. After every chapter my guess kept changing. It was fun and kept me invested and on my toes. The ending of the book did leave me with more questions than anything. The dots didn't quite connect. I wish this story was longer! I want to learn more about the secondary characters.

Shelly found love through a dating site which matched her with Griffin, but she also has a stalker, who likes leaving little gifts. Police officers John, who is an ex-boyfriend, and his brother Adam want to keep Shelly safe and protected while they investigate who the stalker may be. This is a good story which is dark, raw, gritty, and with violence, suspense, and mystery, which all lead to a thrilling and intriguing story. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.

As soon as I read the first couple pages I immediately turned to my best friend and said "you should read it, it's right up your ally with stalkers and suspense".
One more click is a quick read but will have you biting your nails and sitting on the edge of your seat the whole time.
It's addictive and you will want to read the whole thing in one sitting.
I honestly did not know who to suspect since there was so many options and was written to have you guessing until the final page.

Just an incredible read, cannot recommend it enough, especially if you've read or watched 'you'.

Just when I thought I figured out who is who and what was about to happen NOPE we are thrown for another loop. That freaking ending WTF didn’t see that coming at all… My jaw was on the floor. Overall a quick read. I love me a good stalker and this checked all the boxes. I would definitely recommend.

It’s been several days since I finished reading One More Click and I’m still sitting here wondering what the hell did I just read! This story is absolutely twisted, intense and unpredictable. I love the fact that the stalkers POV never gave away their identity which in my opinion made the ending even more explosive. I have absolutely no words to describe what that ending did to me and just how much it blew my mind.

What a book! Oh my god, the twists, turns, they constantly had me wanting more and needing to know. For a novella it was very strong and amazingly written! The men in the book are very alpha which I love and they sound exactly what every girl needs. I could not get over the ending and I was soooo shocked! I have so many questions lol and please, please tell me there is going to be a second book!?, I cant cope with this ending haha.
I am really looking forward to reading more from this author!
