An ER doctor. A Fire Chief. Hilarity, danger...and true love conquering all. All that Dr. Jenna Novak wants is some peace and quiet, and the leisurely pace of small-town living. And after five years in Haiti – hurricanes, earthquakes, gang warfare, and let’s not mention the scandal and embarrassment – moving to Serenity seems to be the best thing she did in a very, very long while. However, Serenity turns out to be anything but quiet. Her baptism by fire is just the beginning; there are quirky events like Halloween Great Pumpkin Vigil, there’s surviving a runaway Burmese python, rescuing neglected dogs (and a puppy!), finding a missing child, rushing around the ER at the medical center...and there’s her neighbor, the incredibly hot Fire Chief Logan Cooper. But why did things have to get so complicated with him? It was supposed to be something fun with an attractive, gray-eyed hunk (hey, is having the whole town place bets on your sex life also fun, or embarrassing?), so why is it suddenly becoming something...well, a lot more? And why did her obsessive ex, a recovering addict, have to follow her into her new life...and will she be able to survive him? Will Logan get to her in time, and rescue her...again...just one more time? BOOK 3: If it’s one thing Dr. Jenna Novak hates, it’s cruelty. On the night of the town of Serenity’s annual Halloween Great Pumpkin Vigil, a drunken joke turns into a rescue mission. Jenna, her artist neighbor, Tiffany, and Fire Chief Logan’s favorite firefighter, Paisley, decide to invade the Pickett farm and free their many neglected dogs. After all, the owners are off hunting. Problem is, although the elder Picketts aren’t home, their trigger-happy preteen sons are, and they’re armed.Once again Logan rides to her rescue. Jenna’s grateful, and though she finds it harder and harder to keep her hands off him, there’s the matter of a bet she rashly made with No sex for seven days. The one who caves in loses. The man is so irresistible that she’s willing to throw the bet, make love to him again and damn the consequences . . . except that the entire town has thousands riding on their wager, and are eagerly watching them both to see who caves.
This is book three in the Find me in Serenity series. Jenna surely can not keep herself out of trouble. She is up to something on Halloween night that the whole down is at the BBQ while they wait for the Great Pumpkin. Yep, you read correctly from Charlie Brown. Same exact thing, cute as ever, but a bit different. Jenna and two of her friends find themselves in a predicament that they never saw coming. One is shot three times, one is on shaky grounds, and Jenna is arrested for trespassing. Logan is pissed, of course, as usual. Has to eat humble pie to get Jenna sprung from the pokey. (yes both terms were stated here). There is still the bet as well. Will Logan win the bet or does Jenna win? We are left on another cliffhanger for the next book. Jenna's ex calls again but what does she say to him this time and he says to her? Does Logan know about this call?

Dr Jenna Novak continues to get herself into trouble. Jenna, Tiffany and Paisley decide that they want to help by rescuing dogs that are being cruelly neglected at the Pickett farm. They think everyone is out hunting so it should be “safe”. But the Pickett sons come out with guns! Firefighter Logan once again must rush to the rescue.
With their sizzling chemistry for each other, Jenna is about ready to cave in and lose the bet. But the townspeople also have lots of money tied up in their bet and are keeping an eye on the couple to see which one gives in before the 7 days of abstinence! (That town needs more hobbies to stay busy!)
This story is going crazy. I’m not a rule-breaker, so I’m fighting not to be a bah-humbug type here. The characters kind of grow on you, although Jenna actually irritates me somewhat. Grab your copy and see what else they get up to!
It’s Halloween in Serenity. Kids, candy, and hot toddy’s lead Jenna and the ladies on a mission to rescue the dogs from their kennels where Bandit came from. Only someone is injured and Coop has to grovel to the one person he’d rather not in order to get Jenna “sprung from the pokey” for trespassing. Let’s not forget about the bet, well now the entire town has money riding on Coop and Jenna’s intimacy...only on Serenity. Jenna’s boss reminds her that the work in a man’s world and someone is waiting around for them to screw up, so don’t screw up after the farm incident, and she’s totally beside herself with everything. Jenna is finding her place in Serenity. Friends, a good job, a dog, a grouchy man who worships her, but it all can be taken away. Then the phone rings....🤦🏽♀️

Can this series get even better? Indeed, it does! Book 3 surpassed my reading expectations. The reader is led on a rescue attempt by Dr. Jenna Novak. Jenna and her two new friends are out to save a group of neglected dogs on the Pickett Ranch. Yet will they succeed? Logan Cooper, town Fire Chief and heartthrob, is beside himself after hearing that Jenna and her friends ignored his warnings to stay away from the ranch. Still, he is there for them when they need him most. Readers will admire Dr. Jenna’s kind heart and thoughtfulness. Even though she tends to step into trouble, she means well. We know this is one of the many reasons why Logan Cooper is in love with her. The novel is cute and sexy and ends in a cliffhanger. Look out for Book 4! Short but definitely worth the read....not everything is serene in serenity.
What happens when you cross a broken person with an overly confidant person? How do they traverse the mine lines that have etched deep scars in the psyche of one of them? How can a person who doesn’t know how to communicate the horrors they have lived, overcome their fears so that the one person who seems more than willing to break up the dark clouds that live within bring the sun back? How can they navigate the waters of small town life? How will they come through the other side when they have road bumps popping up through their journey to possibly forever? Short but a page turner nonetheless. Several LOL moments. Can’t wait for book 4. Not everything is serene in serenity.

This is book three of six in the “Find Me in Serenity” series and you definitely will want to read them in order. Once again, Jenna has found herself in trouble with Logan coming to her rescue and this time Paisley and Tiffany are involved too. You can say that Jenna and Logan have a love/hate relationship but I feel it’s more love based on the way Logan takes care of Jenna.
Ms. Cruise has a knack for packing lots of action into a few pages thus grabbing your attention and keeping you entertained. She also has a way with dramatic cliffhangers which leaves me anxiously awaiting book four to see what kind of trouble Jenna can cause. And those wonderful side characters keep me in stitches — I don’t think I’d want to eat anything that comes out of Sergeant Wallace’s Tupperware. And the bet, OMG only in a small town does everyone bet the odds on that type of bet.
Jenna was having a good time with friends at the Great Pumpkin Vigil when they decided to go to the Pickett farm and release the mistreated dogs they had in crates outside in the weather. Everything went haywire during the rescue as the young boys started firing BBs at the three women. By next morning, Jenna was in jail, Tiff was in the hospital and Paisley was home. Miscommunications, hurt feelings, betrayal, and heartbreak hit everyone involved. Jenna could lose it all... her friends, her job, her medical license and more, and it all rides on Mr. Pickett. Intense feelings and emotions ride across the whole group as the week progresses. Can not wait to find out what happens next.

Dr Jenna Novak's story continues and things get more interesting. A joke turns into a dangerous nightmare. Jenna, Tiffany and Paisley attempt to rescue some neglected dogs from the Pickett farm. The Pickett sons appear out of nowhere armed with guns. Firefighter Logan to the rescue. Their chemistry is still off the charts and Jenna finds him hard to ignore. What about their bet? What about the townspeople's bet? This is a cute and steamy story that gets more interesting. The characters are likable and interesting. The story line gets more involved. Jenna got herself and her two friends in trouble and just realising its probably going to have ramifications in other areas of her life. Full of drama, but also funny in places I enjoyed this installment as we get to see a different side of Jenna, although what happens because of it wasn't all that pleasant. It was fun though seeing her joy over the dog, Logan being nice to her, and even the scene with her boss was good to read. I really enjoyed this book and looking forward to more on Jenna and Logan.

This is book 3 in the Find Me In Serenity series. In one poorly made choice Jenna almost ruins her chances at a new beginning in Serenity. Luckily Logan is there to help with the situation so it does not escalate to an even worse situation. Now things are a little bit more complicated and there is more that she has to deal with. I am looking forward to reading what happens next. I am loving that Jenna is spunky shy, and confident; and how Logan is teasing and flirtatious, but also professional when needed.

They wanted to free the many neglected dogs as old man Pickett will be out hanging deer. He leaves home the tigger-happy preteen sons to watch the homestead unknown to the three women. See what happen to her and her job and Chief Logan. Also who calls her at the end of the book.

A beautifully written book with an interesting story line. The characters are strong, and the story flows quickly and smoothly. I enjoyed reading this story.
STEM FMC in the medical field! I'm always looking for books with women in STEM, and this series has it. This series is written very strangely... it's like 6 tiny novels that are really just one long novel. You can't read any of them as stand alones, and each one ends on a cliff hanger, so you need to go to the next one. The spice is ok and the plot is ok, just a strange format.
