THE AMISH OUTCAST’S HOLIDAY RETURN is the first book I’ve ever read by Lacy Williams and I can’t wait to read more of her stories.. It is the story of Zach Miller who is back in town after spending years away. He is looking for forgiveness for something tragic that happened when he was a teenager. When Grace Beiler sees him standing on her family’s porch, her heart breaks for him. She is torn between helping him and staying in her sister’s good graces. At first Zach doesn’t entertain making her his girlfriend because he doesn’t believe he is good enough for Grace. His past will hang around his neck forever, or so he thinks. Lacy Williams does a great job of fleshing out her characters and making them likeable.

THE AMISH OUTCAST’S HOLIDAY RETURN is about Grace learning to trust her heart and Zach and letting go of the past. Lacy Williams sure knows how to make the reader feel as if they are right there at the kitchen table with the family dealing with all their troubles. She made me sad, then the next moment I was smiling and giggling out loud! You will never go wrong with a Lacy Williams book if you are a fan of the Amish genre. All of her characters feel genuine and relatable and put your emotions on one heck of a roller coaster ride. As you are reading, you will find yourself cheering for all of them, praying they can work out their problems and be happy once again. You will also wonder how much heartache a family can stand before it completely breaks down and splits.

THE AMISH OUTCAST’S HOLIDAY RETURN is a heart tugging story that will hold you hostage until the very last page. Once I started this heartwarming story, it was very hard to put down! All of the Amish value their family time at the kitchen table. It is where they come together after a long, hard day of work. Is there a place at the table for Grace and Zach? Will Zach have the simple Christmas his heart has been yearning for? Will Grace and Zach find a way to make it work? Or does God have another plan in store for them? I couldn’t wait to finish this wonderful story to see if Zach was able to find balance in his life or would he just keep working while life passed him by. The romance between the two main characters in THE AMISH OUTCAST’S HOLIDAY RETURN is so well done that it left me sighing with happiness.

What an introduction to Author Lacy Williams writing. If I could give this book more stars I would. This was an emotional story about a young Amish boy who lost both his parents at the same time. Orphaned he wound up living with an Uncle who didn’t really want him. He wasn’t raised in the Amish faith because his Uncle didn’t go to church. He never was shown any love from his Uncle and they never celebrated Christmas. Was it any wonder that the boy ran with the wrong crowd when he became a teenager? Driving while intoxicated he killed an Amish man and went to prison. All his friends, his girl friend and his Uncle deserted him. Then came the day he was released with no where to go and very little money for food and lodging. Who could he turn to? What would he do? He was free but he was an ex convict, unemployed with no family. He had gone back to his faith while in prison. Would God be there for him now?
I couldn’t put this book down. It seemed so realistic. It was sad and I recommend that you have a box of tissues handy as the ending draws close. There are hurting people in this book but there is a lot of love and forgiveness also.
I highly recommend this book to readers of Amish Fiction and to readers of Love inspired books.

The Amish Outcast’s Holiday Return by Lacy Williams is a charming story. I thought it was well-written with developed characters. The story moved along at a good pace, and it switches smoothly from each character’s point-of-view. The story is told from Zach and Grace’s point-of-view. I like it when we get male and female perspectives because they each view situations in a different way. This is a unique Amish novel. I have not read this scenario before (and I have read a lot of Amish novels). Zach Miller truly regrets the accident that happened five years ago. He knows that he made a wrong decision that night that cost a man his life and a woman her fiancée. Zach wants to return to his roots and is surprised by who helps him. Grace Beiler finds herself drawn to Zach, but she does not want to hurt her sister. This is a story about compassion and forgiveness. My heart went out to Zach who needs a helping hand to get a fresh start, but the last thing he wants is to hurt Sarah further. I could understand Sarah’s feelings as well. Zach took away the person she loved. I stayed up late so could finish reading The Amish Outcast’s Holiday Return. Some details are repeated a little too often for me (I got it the first time). You will need to have a tissue handy because this is an emotional story. The Amish Outcast’s Holiday Return is an inspiring tale with friends, family, faith, forgiveness, and Christmas cheer.

Wow! This was such a beautiful story! It showed how important a loving and supportive upbringing could be and conversely how detrimental a lack of guidance and affection could be to a child as they grew up.

I liked that Zach did not offer excuses about the bad decisions he had made in his life. He apologized and felt immense guilt that his actions had cost Sarah’s fiancé his life years earlier. Sarah was a very good example at the way bitterness could eat away at a person. It was understandable that she was extremely hurt and angry over the events of the past, however, her hatred toward Zach made for some very uncomfortable situations.

Grace and her father offered Zach true forgiveness, which he needed in order to heal. They were a good picture of God’s grace toward us. Their actions proved very important to Zach as he began to live as a member of their community. There were still times of tension between Zach and Grace as their feelings for each other began to grow even as Grace struggled with the way Sarah felt about Zach. They definitely had a few obstacles to overcome. This was a book that I loved from start to finish. I’m hoping that the author will set more books in this Amish community.

How did one beg forgiveness for ending a man's life? Could Sarah Beiler forgive him after he'd taken away the man she loved?

Are there some mistakes and actions that can't be forgiven? Author Lacy Williams shares an intriguing story that shows two differing views of a tragic accident and its consequences. Will there be grief that is overwhelming, never forgotten, and allowed to fester into bitterness, or can that grief be experienced and then channeled into something positive?

This is a touching story of making mistakes, seeking forgiveness, and being given a chance to start over. Williams reminds us that we are to forgive, as we are forgiven, and we are to help, and not hinder, those who have made mistakes. The Amish Outcast's Holiday Return is filled with sweet romance, family drama, and a strong faith element, including many heartwarming moments that reflect upon the miraculous story of Christmas. There are also some surprises that kept me turning the pages and longing for more! I recommend this book to all who enjoy Amish fiction and holiday-themed stories.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Author Lacy Williams writes a heartwarming Holiday read in The Amish Outcast’s Holiday Return. I admire Zach for coming back to Lacy’s family farm to seek forgiveness in a wrong he had done. I think this shows his true character and I really like and appreciate him a lot. Being the sweet caring person she is, Grace wouldn’t hold anything against Zach and would offer her forgiveness, just as her dad did.

I enjoyed this cast of characters and the way the author writes them to be so realistic, growing them as the story unfolds. I feel this is such a great story for this time of year, going into the Holiday season because it shows love, grace and forgiveness as people often do, more so than any other time of year. After all Jesus is the real reason for the season of Christmas and we should strive to show more of His love for everyone. This is a fabulous book to read in the mist of all of the Christmas rush!

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

An engaging story of forgiveness and new beginnings just in time for Christmas.

Zach has been through a lot in the last few years, I liked him right from the beginning with his determination to make a fresh start and make things right with those he had wronged. Grace is a sweet young woman, kind, and I liked how she was willing to give Zach a chance. I liked seeing Zach find a place among them, reconnecting with his past, joining it with his newfound faith.

I thought that this was an engaging and original story set among the Amish, with a full cast of characters and a storyline that drew me in, I liked the interaction between Grace and Zach and was cheering for them all the way.

Overall, a well written sweet romance of forgiveness and faith, that comes together around Christmastime. Definitely a must read for Amish romance fans!

Lacy Williams’ books have all been enjoyable for me to read. I think my favorite, however, is The Amish Outcast's Holiday Return.

Zach Miller and Grace Beiler are the major characters in Williams’ story. In a reckless, tragic moment, Zach had plunged the life of Grace’s sister Sarah into sorrow. Sarah could not forgive him, now would most people. Grace was willing to forgive Zach, but not at the cost of estrangement from her sister.

Williams' story is well-written and believable. Each character's emotions were palpable, as if they were my own. Grace's attraction toward Zach's tender and fragile emotions, Sarah's rage, bitterness, and unforgiving heart and Zach's trepidation at returning to Walnut Cove all seemed credible.

The Amish Outcast’s Holiday Return does not teach forgiveness, compassion or mercy; rather, it brilliantly and succinctly illustrates them.

I appreciated the story and frequently felt as if I were watching a movie because it was so realistic. I was honored to be able to accompany each person on their journey to ultimate acceptance of God's will.

I received this book from Celebrate Lit. However, my review is voluntary, and all opinions are my own.

Wonderful Story!

This is a wonderful story of love, redemption, and forgiveness! It's a reminder of the impact that our choices and actions have, be they positive or negative, and how long lasting the impact of those choices can last. In this case, Zach Miller finds out just how much of an impact his actions still have. Working to seek forgiveness, to let go of sad memories of his past family situations, reaffirm his faith, and be accepted into his new community is no easy task, but Zach is determined. One step at a time and one day at a time Zach begins to the fruits of his efforts, until an incident threatens to derail all he's worked for.
I felt Zach's struggle deep down in my core. Forgiveness, not just about receiving forgiveness from others, but forgiving himself, was gut wrenching. But Zach pushed forward in his determination to do the right thing and this brought not just forgiveness, but redemption and even love. All of these elements make this beautiful story one that is not to be missed.

Not your typical Christmas story, all snowflakes and warm fuzzies, but a story of second chances that will warm your heart.

In this prodigal returns story, characters Grace, Zach, and Sarah are well written in all their hurts and hopes. The strong sense of family shines through, but sometimes to the detriment of what should happen and doesn’t. I enjoyed the support each of the prodigals was given and the love that was evident throughout. The ending was a great, wonderful surprise. If I had one “complaint” it’s that the story came to the predictable conclusion in what appeared to be a rushed fashion. I felt it should have taken a few more months. But I still enjoyed the story and can recommend it.

The Amish Outcast's Holiday Return is an amazing story written by Lacy Williams. I was drawn into this story from the first few pages and couldn't put it down. The characters are very likeable and realistic. The author has done a fantastic job telling this story of love, loss, and forgiveness. I was hoping things would turn around for Zach Miller and with his determination he would get the family he has always wanted. After four years in prison for driving drunk and killing a local Amish man he has a lot to prove but things don't go his way and the person he seems forgiveness from does an unspeakable act which has Zach questioning what life really holds for him. When a secret is revealed Zach questions where he really belongs.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

Amish Fiction is my absolute favorite Genre of Fiction books. The Amish Outcast's Holiday Return by Lacy Williams is the most recent Amish Fiction book that I have read. I have read a few of Lacy Williams Cowboy Romance books, but this is the first Amish Fiction Book that I have read by this author.

Zach Miller has waited 5 long years to return to his Amish Community, and he is seeking forgiveness for an accident that happened 5yrs ago. Zach Miller is responsible for an accident that killed the fiancé of Grace Beiler's Sister and he spent 5yrs in prison for it. Sarah has been devastated since the accident and has had a very hard time with life. The entire Beiler family has been impacted by this accident and how it has affected Sarah. Grace's father gives Zach a chance at a new life by hiring him for a job. Grace begins to really get to know Zach as he spends more time working for her father. Admittedly, Grace is really falling for Zach as she can see that he is a changed man from the Teenager who made a mistake. Grace is stuck in a predicament though, as she LOVES her Sister and doesn't want to cause family rift by having a relationship with Zach. Can Sarah forgive Zach for his role in her fiancés death? will Grace and Zach be able to have a relationship? Will Zach be welcomed back into the Amish Community??

WOW, this is one of the BEST Amish Fiction books I have ever read. I really give Zach a lot of admiration as he made it a point to come to the Beiler Family and ask for forgiveness, as soon as he was released from Prison. He wanted a fresh start and Mr. Beiler saw his sincerity and gave him a job. Grace has a GREAT heart and a willingness to forgive, but she also saw how she needed to make sure she lose her sister's trust in the midst of having a relationship with Zach. The book was a quick read, but packed soo much into the story. The Amish Outcast's Holiday Return is a book about Romance, Faith, Forgiveness and Second Chances. Ohhh, the Christmas spirit is very prevalent in this book also! FANTASTIC BOOK!

I really liked Zach because the author shows how a person can make a mistake and change from it. I don’t think he will ever forget that tragic accident he caused or his time spent in prison. It was very brave of him to go to the family after being released from prison. He has a lot of emotions running through him as he knocked on the door to what would soon change his life. I enjoyed getting to know Zach and reading how he wanted to make a better life for himself. He wants to be accepted and be a part of a family. How sad that he never received that from his own family. Will the community welcome him?

Grace is a very forgiving person which I think made Zach feel a little at ease around her family. Not everyone is happy to have him around but it will take time for this person to forgive. The author illustrates how the Amish forgive and how they help others in need. I loved reading how Grace and Zach formed a friendship and I began to wonder if feelings would develop between them.

The author is gifted in the area of making the characters come to life. You can sense their feelings and Zach really tugged on my heart. I was getting comfortable in the story and out of nowhere the author delivers a surprise I never expected. Oh no you won’t get it out of me. I will say that Grace’s father is forgiving, understanding and compassionate when dealing with any situation. He treats Zach with the upmost respect and gives him sound advice. I think Zach is fearful that he will be asked to leave at any moment.

This has been a story that I will not forget anytime soon. The author has gifted readers with a look at what forgiveness look like. It also touches on bitterness and what happens if you let it fester. Zach is someone who I think exhibits a person who repents of his sins and allows God to give him hope as he turns his life around.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

My Review:
Zach Miller’s life has been a difficult one. He’s made mistakes; paid the penalty for them; and now he desires to find a place to belong and live a quiet, productive Amish life. When Zach approaches the Beiler family seeking forgiveness, he is amazed when Mr. Beiler tells him that he forgives him. Zach is further surprised when Mr. Belier offers him a job and a place to stay. But not everyone in the Beiler family feels the same way, and Zach realizes he will have to prove himself faithful to the Amish community. Grace Beiler soon realizes that Zach has truly changed. However, the bitterness that Grace’s sister harbors towards Zach stands between Zach and Grace forming a close friendship.

There’s much for us to learn from the example of Mr. Beiler’s forgiveness and efforts to help Zach find his new beginning. We also see the results of refusing to forgive and how bitterness can take over a person’s thoughts and actions. This story was a good reminder that when God changes a life, we need to be willing to help them find the courage to live the life to which God has called them.

I enjoyed reading this book. However, there were a couple of unfinished storylines, and I would have liked to have seen how those worked out. I’m wondering if this book might be the beginning of a series, but that wasn’t indicated by the author. If that’s the case, then I understand why the stories might be continued later.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

The Amish Outcast’s Holiday Return by Lacy Williams is a contemporary Amish Romance. It is a standalone Love Inspired Inspirational Romance. It features Grace Beiler, a young Amish woman and Zach Miller, a man convicted of manslaughter.

What you might need to know:
Zach’s parents were killed in a buggy accident when he was ten, he was then taken by his non Amish uncle. As a teen Zach kills an Amish man when he is drinking and driving.

What I think about this book:
This was a very unique concept for an Amish book. Zach spent his childhood in the Amish community, but is ripped out of it and everything he knows when his parents are killed. When a series of bad choices put Zach in prison he starts to seek the faith of his childhood. Grace is asked to put forgiveness into practice when he comes to seek forgiveness for killing her sister’s fiancé. This was such a good book about God’s Grace and Forgiveness and how it is hard for us as humans to grant the same type of forgiveness. Zach was such a heartbreaking character, that I didn’t think I would like, but he quickly captured my attention. Grace was a really neat character and I enjoyed how she grew African Violets. I loved this story and the characters. I would love to read more books based in the community to get more of their story.

I loved this book. It talks about the main facet of the Amish which is the Lord’s will and also forgiveness. These are both hard things. I struggle with accepting things as God’s will and with forgiving and it’s not promoted as much in mainstream Christianity as it is the Amish.

Grace falls in love with the boy she can never have. But there is so much more to him than what meets the eye. And her sister is struggling as well. Not with loving the man Grace loves but rather forgiving him or even tolerating his presence.

You see, he caused the death of her fiance and she’s never been the same since. Her whole life stopped that day and she hasnt figured out how to move on yet.

Can Grace help Zach see his worth? Will she be able to choose family over love?

This is a wonderful book and I enjoyed reading it. I hope you get a chance to read it. I think you’ll be blessed by the simple message and the wonderful characters. It’s perfect timing for a quaint holiday read.

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. As a teenager, Zach Miller made some poor choices that cost Grace Beiler’s sister’s fiance his life. Now Zach returns to apologize but finds so much more. Her father offers him a job and a place to live. But Grace’s sister refuses to believe he has changed. Returning to the Amish faith of his parents, Zach discovers faith, love, and forgiveness. Grace desires more than friendship with Zach. But for that to happen, Sarah must come to terms with the fact Zach changed.

The holidays provide the perfect time for new beginnings and hope for the future. So if you enjoy Amish romance stories or Christmas stories, check out this book for yourself. My only desire for this story would be for Sarah to get her own story, which includes a continuation of Zach and Grace’s story. I also enjoyed getting to know Grace’s cousin Amos and reading about his interactions with Grace and Zach. So check out this book for yourself.

This is a story of Zach Miller who returned to his community seeking forgiveness from the family he deeply hurt with his wayward behaviors. He is broken and alone but found encouragement from Mr. Beiler. His past still haunt him and having no one to turn to he was grateful for his kindness. But yet there was tension when he was present at the Beiler’s table or home with Sarah. Grace Beiler was a compassionate young lady and saw more to Zach. How will Grace be able to help Zach overcome when Sarah is placing guilt upon her for being a friend to him?

There are surprises in the story along with a message that forgiveness is of upmost importance especially at Christmas when God sent His son to bring hope to all. This touching Christmas story will stir emotions and tears could be falling while reading.

I always enjoy a good story about forgiveness and redemption, and The Amish Outcast's Holiday Return certainly is that. The author does a great job of drawing the reader into the lives of these characters and making us feel all the emotions in the best way possible. I have enjoyed other books by Lacy Williams and enjoyed them, but this was the first Amish romance of hers I had read... and I must say it was every bit a enjoyable too. It was a good blend of romance, faith and of course, Christmas spirit too. Like most Love Inspired reads, this was a quick read with a great pace. I personally love quicker reads for the holiday season as they tend to be easier to fit into the busier holiday season, and I found this to be just perfect. Overall, I found this to an enjoyable read and one that fans of Amish romance are sure to want to check out.

The Amish Outcast's Holiday Return is another delightful and quick read by Lacy Williams. I enjoyed this story between Zach and Grace. Not only did it get me into the Holiday spirit, it, also, reminded me of some beautiful important life lessons. I wanted to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next between the two. I really found it to be inspiring and was entertained from start to finish.

The Amish Outcast's Holiday Return is getting four and a half stars from me. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean Amish Romance and Christmas time reads. As always, I will be looking for more by Lacy Williams in the future.

I received a paperback copy of The Amish Outcast's Holiday Return from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

I love Lacy Williams books and this one was another good one from her. It is well written and the characters are well developed. The story is told my the point of views of Zach and Grace. This was a quick read which is a good and bad thing about the Love Inspired collection. I hate when they are all over so quick but I do enjoy that I can read them in an afternoon and enjoy some relaxing time with a story.

This was my first Lacy Williams Amish story and I really enjoyed it! I definitely recommend it if you are looking for a good story and a quick read.

The first thing Zach does when out of prison after five long years is to seek forgiveness from those he wronged and hurt. Knowing that this will not bring back their loved one, he still is doing what the Bible says and knows that to move on with his life he must.

The first stop is the Beiler home, the home of Sarah the woman whose fiancé was killed when Zach decided to drive drunk. Sarah really isn't up to forgiving Zach, but her sister Grace has a soft heart towards him and seems to understand more than others.

Zach did not have an easy life. His Amish parents dying early in his life and being sent to live with an Englisher uncle who really had no use for him scarred and shaped him. Things went from bad to worse as he ended up with the wrong crowd and girlfriend whom none stood by him as he was incarcerated.

Grace is different than anybody he has ever met. She sees past his mistakes and seeks him out and is not afraid to stand up for him or touch him. Her father even gives him a chance by letting him work for him.

However, there is a lot of pain to overcome and there is plenty of heartrending revelations for this couple to get past. A nice Christmas read about the importance of letting go and forgiveness.

I was provided a copy of this novel from the author I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

The Amish Outcast’s Holiday Return by author Lacy Williams is a Christian contemporary Amish fiction. Reading this reminded me why I am intrigued with the Amish and their lifestyle of forgiving others. I loved this book.

This is the tale of Zach Miller. Through unfortunate circumstances in his life, he left the Amish and ended up in the care of his Uncle Paul. There he made some terrible choices which ended him in prison for a few years.

It is also the story of Grace Beiler and her family. They are a loving, strong Amish family but one member’s life was changed by Zach’s poor choices. As the story progresses we see forgiveness, redemption, grace, and mercy lived out as Zach comes home to his Amish roots.

Author Williams has written a captivating story. I was able to engage with the characters and became invested in them and the story immediately. The secondary characters are wonderful, too. I loved watching their relationships with each other and God grow throughout the story.

This is a well planned, well organized, and well written book. The author has included a few surprises to keep readers on their toes. I highly recommend this and rate it 5 out of 5 stars. A copy was provided by Celebrate Lit, but these are my honest opinions.

A different type of Amish story, this includes a young man who was born Amish but then raised by his unkind uncle out in the world. When he returns to the community as an adult, he finds the life he’d once left behind pulling him in. So many troubles and issues that seem insurmountable add to the rising tension in this realistic tale. The authentic characters tug at your heart strings and make you long for everything to work out for them, but it seems nearly impossible. Much healing is needed. Will Zach Miller ever truly fit in or will his sullied past doom his life? The conflicts in the drama may make you consider how you handle problems in your own life and how to better relate to others. And if you enjoy raising flowers, this book includes propagating African violets. The novel can be appreciated any time of year and would make a strong book club choice. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

The Amish Outcast’s Holiday Return is written by Lacy Williams. This is part of the Love Inspired line. I really enjoyed this book and getting to know the characters.

Zach Miller has been long gone from his community. He left when he was a teenager. He returns a changed man. He is seeking forgiveness and a fresh start. Grace Beiler can’t believe her eyes when she sees him standing there. He was the cause of Grace’s sisters fiancé death. Zach is so worried everyone will still judge him for his past. Grace is drawn to him.

I love the lesson of second chances and forgiveness. I love the real feeling of these characters. The author has crafted a beautiful story.

This is the story of a young man who lost everything, and then tries to go back home, can he?

We are there to see the compassion shown to this wayward soul, and yet, can forgiveness really be found?

What a great read, kept me page turning, loved the dynamics here, your heart will go out to him, but try putting yourself in Sarah's shoes, forgiveness will be hard, and we see how she deals with it, or tries to.

There are some surprises, and you may need the tissues handy, this read tugs on a lot of emotions!

I will be looking for more by Lacy Williams!

The Amish Outcast's Holiday Return by Lacy Williams is a wonderful story that focuses on asking for and receiving forgiveness. I just loved this story. It is so well written it felt like I was observing instead of reading. The story is very realistic in Sarah's struggle to forgive and the overwhelming regret Zach lives with. I enjoyed the friendship between Grace and Zach as well as the generosity of Grace's father. This story is nice in that it focuses on how a person can change their life around after accepting Christ into their life. This is an enjoyable Amish Christmas fiction that is quick and easy to read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.

The writing style in this book changes so much from beginning to end that it leaves me wondering if the same person wrote both parts of it. The beginning is written so badly that it could have been written by a fourth or fifth grader. The incomplete sentences and poor composition make it very difficult reading. Somewhere in the middle of the book, the style totally changes to a more standard writing style.

All in all, the story itself is reasonably good, although some of the actions does not conform with what seems to be standard Amish customs, and is a bit unbelievable. I will try to avoid works by this author in the future.
