... There were a couple of errors. One was big enough that I thought something happened between books but it didn't it actually happens later in this book. Then there is a typo with a name of a person that isn't even in this book.
The typos make it really hard to enjoy this book. I mean, Lydia calls Grant her fiancé long before he actually proposes! Made me think I had missed something. Then Jennifer is talking to her brother Sebastian when there was a comment about Josh's eyes! Who the heck is Josh? Ever since the first book when Lydia made the comment about how Marigold Island Mass, is so different from Boston Mass that it felt like moving to another planet instead of another state. Last time I looked Boston and Marigold Island were in the same state! I understand trying to get books done quickly but really you need to at least do ONE read through to make sure you have things straight.
It’s time to return to Marigold Island for another light, cozy read.
BFFs Lydia and Angela’s hard work at the Beachside Inn has paid off. The Inn is a roaring success, Plus the two are always looking for new ways to help increase the Inn’s popularity. Brooke’s Bakery is a big hit. Seems like there is always a line out of the door, especially in the mornings. However, there seems to be more than friendly competition with the other island bakery.
This episode, Book 4 in the series, focuses on the last character, Travis, that readers met in the first book.
Travis, brother to Angela and Brooke, is one of the island’s police officers. He is wanting to get back into the dating off, but his few internet dates have turned him off as the way to meet women. His new plan is to let nature take its course and meet them the old-fashioned way.
Jennifer is a new character. She has come to Marigold Island to escape her ex-boyfriend, but he manages to find her and continues to harass her. That’s problem number one for Jennifer. Next is that she is a real estate agent and has been experiencing break-ins at her listings. They make her leery of showing any property alone. On the hand, problem number three is that she’s attracted to the police officer who answers her 911 call, if that can be called a problem. Plus, Travis is as attracted to Jennifer as she is to him.
Grant has decided he wants to marry Lydia. He enlists the help of Angela and Brooke to help him select a ring. Admittedly, the ladies will have a tough time not blurting the new to Lydia, but they did promise.
It’s spring on Marigold Island and love is in the air. Beachside: Secrets has the same easy feel of the first three novels. A quick read, but the structure is beginning to get a tad repetitive. Therefore, it receives 4 out of 5 stars in Julie’s world.
Break ins and threatening ex's give way to romance and proposals as Marigold Island heads into Summer
Travis keeps running into Jennifer sometimes because of break ins at the real estate she is showing. Finally, they go out on a date and hit it off really well. However, Jennifer's very controlling ex boyfriend, Aaron wants to keep this from happening. He punches Travis and ends up in jail where they discover he has other outstanding warrants that will keep him locked away for awhile. Angela and Patrick are very happy together and Patrick is so good with her young son, Jake. Grant and Lydia are deeply in love and grateful for second chances at love after each of them lost their spouses at an early age. Grant is planning a perfect celebration for his surprise proposal to Lydia and it will include family, friends and acquaintances. Marigold Island is a warm and caring community as are the people that inhabit this place.
Book 4 in the series focuses on the local realtor who has experienced a series of break-ins at her properties, and is being stalked by her ex who can't take "no" for an answer. I love these ladies so much and seeing how much they have grown and what they have been through and achieved to date just makes me so happy. It's not just about the ladies those, this time it is Travis's turn to find love and Jennifer is his perfect match but keep tip toing around each other and then there are the mystery of the break ins which at least gives them a reason to see each other, but someone from Jennifer's past may be lurking around. Brooke also has her own problems with a devious and mean spirited fellow bakery owner and then there is a big surprise coming for Lydia and thankfully the ladies are their for each other and their partners as well as have a gift for match making.
We learn more about Brooke and Hunter's relationship. Travis finally Mets a great woman and their relationship begins and Grant and Lydia become engaged. In the next book we will meet Grace and find out about her story
These books are wonderful! I really enjoy the stories that make one want to visit and experience Marigold Island and all it has to offer. The characters are easy to love. I just wish there were recipes for some of the food that is described!
What's not like with a sweet romantic story like this. The more I read Fiona's Marigold Islands stories, the more I enjoy them. I can't wait to start the next book, which I have already downloaded.
A sweet, clean, happy ever after romance set on a beautiful New England island. This book has a little suspense thrown in too. Good characters with a chance to catch up on the stories of the people in the previous books.
Great storyline, but had some typos in it with a name of a character not even in the book. Otherwise great series and looking forward to reading next book. Just slow down. I’d be glad to be a beta reader feel free to each out.
I find the characters in this book developmen.t ointeresting. I enjoy the thread tying them together and the development of relationships from book to book
Loving this series! Finished book four, this book centered around Travis finding love, Brooke and Hunter living together and the Bakery doing well, Angela and Patrick are going strong and Lydia and Grant move their relationship to a new level! Read it and see on t book 5!
I enjoyed the book with people looking for love not always in the right places. But if you keep trying and with a little help from family and friends you will find your special someone in the end
More weddings in sight as more couples continue to find each other. And the Bakery is doing great business. Travis finds a compatable and lovely companion. Life is happy on Marigold Island.
This series of books are a delightful read. I have enjoyed meeting the characters. They seem like part of the family. Can't wait to see what the next book has in store.
The characters of this series is so real, with real feeling, hopes and dreams. Fun read to see how they are all doing and what adventures wait for them.
Truly a story that makes everyone feel good. It was exciting to see that all the couples were coming together in the best way no pretense just caring and loving.
Would have been 5 stars if there had been no errors. The emotional parts really put this one over the top for me! If only the proofreading has been better!
