It's an oral history of Broadway theaters. Tepper talks with performers, creatives, technicians, audience members, ushers, etc. She also provides timelines for shows, longest and shortest-running shows, date established, and former names for the theaters. It took me forever to get through (reading literally a couple of pages a night), but I loved reading about the theaters, and it made me even more appreciative of the ones I have been in. The history those buildings have housed is incredible.
