Summer Heatwave: Special Forces: Operation Alpha: Seasoned SEALs Book 2 is by Kalyn Cooper. This continues the story from Book one as Kam continues to search for Big Daddy and continues to meet the SEALS.
Kameron Hood has met Commander Mike Gallagher and is using his men to help in destroying a sex trafficking ring. Lieutenant Chaney has been useful in interrogating one of the victims. She refuses to talk to anyone else except him. Through his communication with her, they have found the warehouse that houses the “Barbie House” or sex house. Now to get enough evidence to cover this house.
If just moving in on the sex house isn’t enough, Kam is being stalked by hired killers as she is making it hot for Big Daddy. She is also making it hot for SEALs who have lost their honor and integrity and are involved in this activity. Can Mike keep her safe?

Summer Heatwave: Fantastic writing and an amazing story! I loved how Mike and Kam first met and her first impression of him. When they figure out that they work together and he learns new technics that could be used for training in the navy. They really hit off and he saw how independent Kam was and did her job well. He thought he really found the right woman that fit into his life still even after he said he never wanted to get married again after two failed marriages. He realized what he was missing was a strong independent woman that wanted him for him not for what he did for a living. They work well together and they are great outside of work. They had a lot in common. That is why they are a great team. I really enjoy their story!

Page turning, action packed, heart racing, fight against evil brings Kam and Mike to work together finding Big Daddy and the trafficking ring. Can they work together in ridding the world of such evil or does their world turn upside down when they realize what they mean to each other.

I loved book one in the series, Spring Unveiled, and this one was a little edgier and just as good.
Mike Gallagher is a Navy SEAL commander still dealing with the aftermath of finding out that some shady SEALs had been involved in human trafficking and more are likely to be found. During the investigation , he’s come across a gorgeous and tough as nails Kam Hood, Special Agent in Charge in Homeland Security Investigations for human trafficking. When he thought his love life was done after two divorces, this strong and intelligent woman sparks his interest.
Little does he know that she too was surprised to find herself attracted to him.
As the story progresses , not only does the danger intensifies as someone wants to get rid of Kam because of her involvement in trying to shut down “Big Daddy” and the human trafficking, but so do feelings neither ever expected to have.
This is a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, while also having you rooting for these two strong and very likable characters. You will also get a chance to visit with a couple of the characters from the previous story.
Lastly, kudos to the author for bringing to light the reality of human trafficking occurring in the USA.
According to the OVC, Office of Victim Crimes, statistics show that close to 17,000 foreign nationals are trafficked into the United States and the number of US citizens is even higher with an estimate of 200,000 American children at risk. As a nation and as individuals we need to do more for these victims.

Summer Heatwave is the second book in KaLyn Cooper’s four-part Seasoned Seals and starts up right where we left off in book one. Commander Mike Gallagher reports directly to Evan Hibbard and has unfortunately been thrown into the thick of things as the ongoing investigation into SEAL misconduct continues. Mike’s first meeting with the abrasive, in your face and hard-arse federal agent Kameron Hood, tips his world on its axis as feelings he hasn’t known surface to question his no commitment rule.
As their meetings become more frequent, neither can deny the intense attraction and chemistry that consumes them or the reservation they each harbour about HEAs. Things start to heat up in the investigation, new facts come to light and the gap between Big Daddy and federal agents looks to be closing rather fast, but danger is always present and when Kam’s life is threatened, Mike realises he can’t allow her tough and capable persona to take risks that could destroy their chance at forever.
I thoroughly enjoyed the continuation of this saga and the interaction between Dylan Chaney and his son, his commanding officers and the capable assistance his SEAL training provided when conversing with Tala. The story is far from over and the intrigue and suspense is only ramping up, but one thing that I’m truly enjoying about this series is the focus on mature men and women and their unspoken need to be wanted too. I’m so excited and very impatient for the next chapter this this incredible series!

This truly is a Heatwave of epic corruption, lack of morality, and greed!
I loved every page from start to finish. The backstory is entrenched deeply into our government and military with a huge ... who's behind it. We won't find that out for a while.
The two mains in Summer Heatwave were superb for me. Each with their strengths, and no visible weakness both Mike, a HOT seasoned commander of SEAL Team One, and Cameron, or Cam to her friends, a newly stationed Special Agent in charge of Homeland Investigations/Trafficking Division, seriously kick butt, she is also a Brazilian jujitso instructor after all. She enjoys laying Mike out too lol. Oil and water found a way to mix, and they get their happy for now.
The trafficking storyline will have you running through your arsenal of emotions as Cam goes all out to catch the infamous "Big Daddy". Mike just needs to keep her safe, not an easy feat in any way, especually when neither of them was looking for long term, go figure, at least the case got them moving forward faster LoL.
An excellent fast-paced quick read that has so much packed into it with a bit of sweet heat, a lot of action, a ton of suspense, and funny bits. Love the funny bits tucked in here and there.
A stand alone, but second in a series, a recommended read from my point of view. The first of the series is also an excellent, more emotional read. I now wait impatiently for the next great read in this Seasoned Seal series.

'm a big fan of KaLyn Cooper's new Seasoned Seals series and Summer Heatwave follows on from where Spring Unveiled left off.
One thing you can guarantee from this author is a strong, thoroughly likeable heroine and she certainly delivers with tough, take no prisoners Kam Hood, I mean what's not to love about a woman who can quite literally take a Seal to the floor!

The sparks between the two fly immediately as prickly Kam and cocky Mike are surprised by the sizzling attraction between them. Neither of them has any expectation of a HEA in their future but the relationship grows especially when Kam paints a target on her back by openly taunting suspect big Daddy and Mike's protective instincts fire up. With things heating up both personally and in the investigation the couple realise they both want the same thing and they don't want to waste any more time going for it.
Plenty of action and intrigue to keep the reader in suspense. There are clues to follow but the story keeps you on your toes and guessing who is the ultimately behind the trafficking. This is an excellent series highlighting the horrific world of human trafficking, well written and highly recommended, can’t wait for the next instalment!

I really loved this book with main characters having had a life before meeting each other and since one is military i simply could not resist.
Mike is a gentleman and as Seal he is hard to resist but i really loved how he was acting towards Kam:attentive, protective and respectful. He is at the head of a lot of seals when some of them acted badly so for him finding the one responsible for the women trafficking is getting a bit personnal even more when Kam is becoming a target.
Kam: her past is not good and i think we still have a lot to learn but she is a determined woman with a lot of talents. She is not afraid to work with the military and will do all is necessary to catch the bad guy.
the story was excellent, it has the right amount of suspense and romance so it was really great BUT it's not a stand alone, yes we get a lot resolved but we see it's part of the series not only we had a lot of events we missed if we missed book one but the end is a cliffhanger that has us on edge so i do recommend you to read the series in order. I think i would have enjoyed it even more if i did.

I loved the fact that I am reading about seasoned characters because I am a seasoned lady. This book literally picks up the day after book one, but there was enough information in this book for it to stand alone nicely. I must say in the beginning, I wasn’t too much of a fan of the heroine, Kam. It was a bit of a disconnect with me of how she could be cold in the beginning of the book and then switch to warm and friendly for the rest of the book. I did like she and Mike together although it seemed to be a stretch that the hero, Mike proposed when he mentioned several times he would not get married again. The only other thing I wish could have been expanded upon was the Seal training that Kam was contracted to do. I was actually looking forward to reading more about the sessions and the men underestimating her abilities. I know this is a novella but adding that would have been great fun and comic relief added to such a serious topic. I’m not quite sure what the title of the book has to do with the actual story but all in all it’s still a great story, great secondary characters and I can’t wait for the next book.

Summer Heatwave is a terrific romantic suspense by KaLyn Cooper. Ms. Cooper has once again delivered an entertaining read that is well-written and packed with fantastic characters. Kam is new to San Diego but she hit the ground running with her new post of Homeland Security Investigations for Human Trafficking. Mike is the new commanding officer of SEAL Team One. Kam and Mike's story is loaded with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to my next book by KaLyn Cooper. Summer Heatwave, Special Forces: Operation Alpha is book 2 of the Seasoned SEALS Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Homeland Security’s Special Agent in Charge Kam meets Commander Mike Gallagher in the aftermath of the takedown of the human trafficking club and ongoing investigation involving some of his Seals. They inadvertently antagonise each other whenever they meet, but the sparks still fly between the two. The relationship grows after Kam paints a target on her back by openly taunting the main suspect and Mike's protective instincts flare up.
Plenty of action and intrigue to keep you guessing while they try to work out who is the boss of the human trafficking ring. Plenty of fast paced action, constant looking over their shoulders, teamwork and romance.... As a couple they complement each other well. She is a strong, intelligent and independent woman who hasn’t find the right person to fit who she is. He’s a SEAL who has 2 failed marriages twice before, and is now concentrating on his new job.
A fabulous read, and even though I read this book out of sync I’m going to now read book 1.

This is a great read and even better if you read/reread SPRING UNVEILED first so you are up date with who everyone is and how they relate.
Commander Mike Gallagher and Special Agent in Charge Kameron “Kam” Hood of Homeland Security rubbed each other the wrong way from the first phone call between them.
When they kept running into each other while working to solve human trafficking, seems their dislike of each other started heading the other way. Their continued digging into the trail leading to the kidnapped victims and the and their captures brings some results but even more danger and questions.
Can Mike keep Kam safe from retribution, will she let him even try to keep them both safe? Will their feelings for each other remain strong or burn out? Will they be able to take down the human trafficking empire or maybe at least cripple it?
Can't wait for the next book in the series!

Commander Mike Gallagher and Special Agent Kameron Hood meet under trying circumstances. Mike is unfortunately involved in a human trafficking case Kameron is investigating . They rub each other the wrong way from the start. They become attracted to each other fairly quickly. Kameron has a target painted on her back when she calls out the head bad guy on national television during a press conference. Mike is determined to protect her no matter what. Kameron appreciates the fact he "gets" her without her having to explain anything. Will they be able to get past their individual issues to get the HEA they deserve? Get this book ASAP and find out. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.

This series written in Susan Stoker's world is book 2 in the four part Seasoned Seals series. It picks up where Spring Unveiled leaves off. The new central characters are Navy Seal, Commander Mike Gallagher and Homeland Security agent Kameron Hood. Together they investigate the human trafficking scandal first uncovered in Spring Unveiled. Kam is a kickass woman and Mike is quickly intrigued by this feisty woman, who knows what she wants. Together they investigate the trafficking and find more then either one thought!!!!! I LOVE KaLyn Coopers heroines and their men!!!! This is so far a great series and awesome to see Susan Stoker's characters revisited here also!!!! I would highly recommend this book to all!!!! 5 stars!!!❤❤❤❤❤

This is the story of Mike and Kam. Both have had failed relationships and are focusing on their careers. Mike is leading a new team after the fall out from an investigation (you can follow along but more details are in the previous book in this series). Kam is leading the investigation and needs to pull in someone from Mike's team for help. Both are attracted to each other but hesitate at first to acting on that attraction. When Kam becomes a target, Mike will do whatever it takes to keep her safe! This is another fantastic story of drama, suspense and intrigue with a beautiful love story that flows through out the book. You will be so invested in every second of this book you won't be able to put it down!

Be prepared for this one because once you start you will not be able to put it down. It’s filled with drama, intrigue, danger, and passion. Mike and Kam have both had failed relationships, and right now the only constant they believe they need in their lives is their careers. But once they meet, they are drawn together, feeling an attraction neither expected nor thought they wanted. When Kam’s life is threatened, Mike’s there to do whatever needs to be done to keep her safe. This is an exciting and captivating story that will keep you thoroughly involved from beginning to end. Even though Mike and Kam find their HEA, the hunt for BD’s not over, and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next.

With the help of Tala, one of the victims and a serving seal with interrogation techniques, they are able to find one of the business from "Big Daddy". Loved this book. I laughed when she took phantom down. Loved the characters and my mind was going all over the place to who the big person could be. Although the rear admiral sent up some red flags for me. Who knows. Can't wait for the next book to come out.

The trafficking ring is still going, even though it has been damaged by the raid conducted by the Navy, Homeland Security and the FBI. Mike Gallagher, SEAL Commander, becomes part of the team working to find all the tentacles of the operation. Kameron Hood, SAC for Homeland, finds him attractive but remembers her dismal track record with men. They get together, though, beginning when she takes him down in a Brazilian jiu-jitsu class. Dylan makes a few appearances here, too, since one of the rescued girls will only speak to him. A little sloppy editing here account's for the loss of a star. Not sure why the SEAL Team leaders haven't picked up on the elephant in the room yet....

Commander Mike was funny he thought he did not need wife 3 especially since age could be a factor now. Then there is Special Agent in Charge Kam and her area was human trafficking which has a place in my heart. After having a big bust that happened to be the biggest on West Coast she has a new position that she is focused on. Being snippy with each other seems to be in order also with wrong impressions. They will get you laughing at times. Drama though makes it way and upsets the course. It also changes Mikes tune with plans to keep her safe. With this one it will keep us and them on our toes flipping the pages to see how it settles.

Trouble in their own Backyard!!!
SEALs are used to traveling to all edges of the world to complete their mission. When trafficking takes place in their own ranks it is shocking. Special Agent for Homeland Security Kam is not impressed by those around her. Commander Mike Gallagher finds Kam prickly and the feeling is mutual.
When Mike needs to provide updated hand-to-hand combat training for his SEALs, he’s surprised the black belt in Brazilian jujitsu is none other than Kam. Dislike turns to respect and this fast-paced story takes off!! Another winner in this series.

Another great book by KaLyn. Commander Mike Gallagher and Kam Hood met while breaking up a human trafficking ring involving Seal's in Spring UnVeiled. They gotten a lot of them but big Daddy is still out there. When Kam goes on tv at a press conference and tells Big Daddy she coming for him next puts a price on her head. I liked Kam's character she's strong, witty and I loved the way she takes Mike down in class. There's plenty of action, suspense, and you want to keep reading to see what happens next. Great read.

As I get older I find myself drawn to older characters. Blushing virgins and inexperience in life is getting a bit boring. I want characters who know what they want, have confidence in jobs they've held or at least knowledge in day to day life. I found that with Kam and Mike.
This can be a stand alone book if you're okay not knowing who the bad guy is, but this series has me kept my attention and I don't know you wouldn't want to keep following it. And if you haven't had the pleasure of reading KaLyn's work before you won't be disappointed!

Loved it! I am loving this new series! I have always been a fan Susan Stoker, and having one of my favorite authors wring in her world is Heavenly!! This book is a continuation from Spring Unveiled. You don't HAVE to read the first one to read this one, but it would help for the backstory of the human trafficking ring. I love how the agency lies are getting along, ICE, Seals, FBI..etc. to take down the bad guys. I also like that that the H and h are old enough to know what they want and not play games. I was given an advanced copy for my honest review.

KayLyn Cooper has done it again. She excells at writing strong, kick-ass women and their protective alpha hunks. I am loving the Seasoned Seals series! Plus you get a free glimpses of Susan Stoker characters as added fun. Summer Heatwave is a sexy, suspenseful, fabulous story. Kat and Mike are two experts in their field who are brought together on a team to solve a case. Mike protects Kat when her life is threatened, and an exciting love story ensures. I could not put this book down. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

I'm loving the main characters in this series and the fact that they are a little older. Neither Mike nor Kam are looking for a love interest, but when they meet there is a spark there. However, Kam is busy with her job and Mike is adjusting to a being given a new team to command. Plus there's the fall out from some SEALs being involved in human trafficking.
Once the action starts in this story, it does not stop and you will be unable to put the book down. There is also a wonderful cast of secondary characters. I can't wait for the next book to what happens.

Recommended read.
Whilst the second book in a series with a continuing plot, there is no difficulty in reading this as a standalone, as the major characters in book 1 have minor roles in book 2. The romance element features two career driven forty-something individuals, both have failed relationships behind them and are not looking for love but despite the background story of human trafficking, love finds them. Well paced, interesting and a complete story in itself.

When Commander Mike Gallagher meets Homeland Security's Special Agent Kameron "KAM" Hood in charge of a Human Trafficking case, he really didn't like her but she had a job to do. The fireworks start there. I loved this story and how I didn't want to stop reading it from page one tells me I'm onto another great Series. KaLyn Cooper keeps you on edge with suspense building along with terror coming from the elusive Big Daddy. He's the one that the women and girls are terrified of. I can't wait to start on the next story!

WOW! Another fantastic story by KaLyn! This one is about Mike & Kam. Kam is part of an intense investigation into human trafficking and Mike has members of the Seal teams involved. Kam has a target on her back but Mike is there to protect her. Within the storyline, we see that another house has been raided and the girls are saved once again. Now Kam has a bigger target on her back but that doesn't stop the love that Mike and Kam have for each other. Glad this couple decided that they were for each other and start working on their happy ending. FANTASTIC job KaLyn!

As usual another great read by Kalyn. Love her books. She always writes a detailed story about her characters. In this book there is plenty of action, heat and fantastic characters. Mike is a Seal Navy commander and Kam works for Homeland Security in the sex trafficking dept. In the first book she breaks up a sex trafficking ring, but they aren't done yet. So in this book she becomes the target for the leader. Excellent read.
