Breathe Me Duet #1

Breathe Me: Breathe Me Duet

Rate this book
They say that true love only comes once in a lifetime.
In my case, they were wrong.
I gave my heart away three times.
To the blue eyed sensitive soul, who read poetry when he thought no one was looking.
To the green eyed jock, who made you laugh as hard as he made you cry.
And to the dark eyed boy, whose dark heart only ever beat for me.

They were my everything, until suddenly they weren’t.
They asked me to choose, but they were asking the impossible.

Now it's my turn to ask for more than what they are willing to give.
I only have three months left, and I just want to spend it with them.
Will they accept my offer, or will four hearts live the remaining days of their lives in regret of what could have been?

The letters have been sent.
All that remains is for me to wait.
Wait to see if their hearts are still mine.
Because for as long as mine beats, it will always belong to them.

'BREATHE ME' is the first full length romance novel in C.R. Jane's and Ivy Fox's duet. Get ready to meet Valentina, and best friends Carter, Logan, and Qauid.

z

This is my first time reading anything by C.R. Jane, co writing with Ivy Fox, and I can honestly say that these two meshed perfectly together that you truly can't tell where one starts and the other begins. This flits from past to present just so flawlessly.

Carter: The soul of their group, the lone wolf, the brooding quiet boy, who prefers to se the world through the lens of his camera. The listener rather than the speaker.

Quad: Was the very pulse which kept the group together as a unit, the confident one, the jokester who always brought the light into any situation.

Logan: Was the heart of their little group the golden boy, the brains, the nurturer.

I inhaled this, devoured it, swooned during it, loved it!!

Straight away I fell under these authors spells with their magical words and went head and heart into a tailspin of feels. This type of burn hurts so bad but oh so good at the same time as you fall for their unconventional love story which started at the age of twelve when each of these boys fell for the new girl in their neighbourhood. Breathe Me was deeply compelling, a beautifully written story of love, and second chances.

I loved each and everyone of these characters. Though one slightly stood above the rest for me, and that was the broody, silent broken boy.

This was such a profound emotional story. Hours/days after closing off that last page it's still there lingering in the background not letting its hooks out of me. Reading this my emotions were like a yoyo out of control, everything these authors threw into this book, I felt, and I loved every moment of it.

A whole month until the next book, a whole month of needing to know how it’s all going to end, and still those unanswered questions linger, why did she walk away all those years ago? Why wait ten years, when it’s too late?

***4 "Come back to me!!!" stars***

AVAILABLE NOW!

"All we have is today. Tomorrow might never come."

The truth is that this is a story that not many people can understand and accept.
Hell, I'm not even sure that i can fully accept it myself, but nobody can't deny that this was a charming story full of difficult choices and second chances...
And after this ending, I'm sitting on pins of needles to see what will happen after all!!!

"Everything had an expiration date though. Even true love somethimes withers away. Just like how a fragile rose, once cut at the stem, loses its beauty and perished before your very eyes."

Valentina, Logan, Quaid and Carter's story started at the age of thirteen...
She was the new girl in the neighborhood and these three were the best friends that all of them had fallen for her...
Their friendship were deep and strong but the lines between the four of them were always blurred...
And then Valentina took the hardest decision of her life...

"You four are like magnets in a compass. You might be pulling in your own different directions, but remain tied together at the very center -a beautiful compass that will always show you the way back to each other, no matter the hardships that may lay ahead."

Ten years later, Valentina isn't in a very good place...
She just need to cease the day and accept the inevitable...
That she will always need her three soulmates and that she needs them to be there by her side...
So, she is deciding to bring them back to her through three letters, but will these three will answer the siren's call???

"Will you let true happiness slip through your fingers a second time, or are you brave enough to take this leap with me?"

Well, these situation between the four of them was really hard to be accepted on an emotional level...
I won't hide to you that i was frustrated as hell at the most part, especially since my heart had decided who should be the chosen one...
From one hand, i could understand Valentina's reasoning, but still... something was kicking inside of me... She seemed a little bit selfish and i really get it, even though what i'm saying it sounds crazy...
She loved those three guys equally and she needed all of them by her side, but what about them???

"For me, they were always a package deal, each completing me in different ways. And something would always be missing if one of them was gone."

"Our love is the sum of four hearts, beautifully entwined and so integrally connected that to take one piece out, would ruin its perfection."

The three boys who are men now were all amazing creatures and so different between them...
Logan was the golden boy with the golden heart. He could accept anything and he could give anything.
Quaid was the jockster and the jock of the lot. He was always the easygoing guy that was keeping the balances between the four of them.
Carter was the silent, broody guy who could throw you out of balance with just a single look. He was the one that he preffered to lose everything, if he couldn't have what he really wanted.

"Valentina Rossi coming into our lives feels like it was always meant to happen. Somehow, she was our missing link and now we are finally whole." {Logan}

"Somehow, the universe has decided that I'm going to get a chance with the only girl I could never forget.
This time, Val, you're gonna be mine."
{Quaid}

"I'd thought that I'd recovered from my addiction to Valentina, but it's obvious that it's strong as it had ever been." {Carter}

Yes, all three boys were amazing on their own way, but my heart was given to Carter from the very first moment, and i can relate with him in the way of thinking...
He was the one who was causing troubles, but he was also the only who seemed to be right on the way he was thinking... My heart was breaking for him over and over again.
For all of them, and for the mess that they had to go through in order to have the girl of their dreams...

"One day, you will have to choose. And on that day, you better believe it's going to be me."

"You killed the boy who loved you and would have done anything for you, and the man I've become isn't going to give you the chance to do that again."
{Carter}

Well, this was a very intriguing story about four people that gave another meaning on the world "soulmates".
Yep, i was angry and frustrated as hell in here, but that doesn't mean that the story didn't have a great impact to me.
I love Ivy Fox's writing and in combination with C.R. Jane, they delivered an amazing, even though painful, result.

"The truth is always scary, Valentina."

This book seriously pulls at your heart strings. Valentina and her dad relocate to San Antonio from Detroit. She moves into a neighborhood with 3 thick as thieves friends and becomes the 4th best friend. Completing their square. The twists and turns break your heart. You are able to get a perspective of now and then. Then as children and now as present day. The then moments are everything you want and dream for a friendship. It’s the sweetest the three boys watch over and guard Valentina so fiercely. I envy it. And Valentina has quite a gut wrenching past that makes you instantly sad. Then we fast forward ten years and these four who were inseparably are meeting for the first time in a decade. The emotional homecoming and dialogue rips your heart little by little. Then, the cliff hanger...made me gasp. I can’t wait for Breathe you!

“A soulmate is someone who just fits with you in every way possible. It's as if they are made out of the same fabric you are, and when they are close, they just seem to complete you.”

it was a pretty quick read. i'm shocked because i didn't think that i would get into it. i didn't realize it was like young adult. or borderline in a way.

its pretty emotional but really light at the same time.

Breathe Me gave me all the freaking emotions!! C.R. Jane and Ivy Fox cowriting together has given me a heartstopping emotional wreck that I AM HERE FOR! To be honest I Haven't read C. R. Jane's work before and in this book I really couldn't tell who wrote what. Thats how much this book flowed so perfectly.

This book was perfectly imperfectly and impacted me emotionally on so many levels that at at times I didn't know if I would recover. This book for sure will pull your heart through a wringer.

It's so hard to write a review for a book that REALLY pulls at your emotions because you can't give away WHY but still want to express how much the book touched you!

This was hands down such a beautiful, emotionally charged book that will have you pulled in so many directions and will pull your heart into pieces but in a way be in one piece at the same time. Expect the unexpected with this book.

Expect to fall for a unconventional love story which started at the age of twelve when each of these boys fell for the new girl in their neighbourhood. Breathe Me was deeply compelling, a beautifully written story of love, and second chances.

I loved each and everyone of these characters. Though through reading this book it was the broken boy who stood out to me the most that I loved the most. The love that they had for each other shines so bright even after being a apart for so long.

By reading this book I definitely believe all this had to happen for them to be where they are. Their lives haven't been smooth sailing, some struggled so much and were spiralling out of control that you didn't know what was going to happen to them. Sometimes we have to go through these struggles in life to become stronger.

Even after this book ended, I am still left with the question of , why did she walk away all those years ago? Why wait ten years, when it’s too late?.

You two definitely know how to throw down a cliffhanger, that was probably the most brutal one I've read in a little bit. I could feel like heart breaking just like It did with the characters in this book. This is absolutely a soul reaching book and I am so happy to see it has become a duet! I can't wait for more.

When you go into this book, stock up on tissues, chocolate, ice cream, wine or basically whatever your comfort food is afterwards because your going to need it.

Breathe Me, by C. R. Jane and Ivy Fox is the new book to the block. The book reminds me Sylvia Day’s writing. I say this in a term of endearment for this book. The writing was simple and easy. The reader doesn’t need to struggle to read the book or interpret what the writer is trying to convey to the reader.
I love the storyline. Although not original, it brings the intensity to the book. The telling of Valentina, Carter, Logan, and Qauids background leading up to the adult years, helps the reader understand the characters desire to pull towards one another. The men are strong characters, who I would love to see go off and seek love interest of their own. I believe that they could do well with their own standalone stories. I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.

**Maybe a spoiler or two but I don't think so.**

This is such a great story. Valentina hasn't seen her childhood loves Logan, Carter and Quaid for ten years. She's thought of them though and missed them terribly. She has now been told she has 3 months to live and all she wants is to spend that time with her boys.

Its all so sweet and sad. The guys don't know what's going on yet bc she just wants their love, she doesn't want their pity. As of right now, I can't decide if I want this duet to end with a typical book-like HEA or a realistic ending which sadly happens to too many. I plan to start book two immediately to find out which one I'll get!

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK BREATHE ME BY IVY FOX AND C.R.JANE.

GENRE:CONTEMPORARY REVERSE HAREM ROMANCE.
AUTHORS:C.R.JANE AND IVY FOX.
TYPE:BOOK#2 OF THE BREATHE ME DUET.
POV:MULTIPLE POV...FIRST PERSON.
MY RATING 5 STARS...

**************
********

BREATHE YOU is the second full-lenght book in the BREATHE ME SERIES.
The book starts where it left off. Still unable to choose between three men who loves and cherishes her, Valentina risks losing all of the love of her life. Valentina is suffering from a terminal disorder and wishes to spend her last good days on Earth with the people she loves and care about the most in the world. LOGAN, QUAID AND CARTER are still wounded from the mistakes she did in the past but they still love her. Will Valentina and the men resolve their feelings and have their well-deserved happily ever after?? or will Fate once again put a crack in their love story?

That’s what she does to us. Makes us feel like we are kings among men and then crushes our crowns with her dainty hands the very next minute.

OHH MYY GODD!!! How am I suppose to write a review for such a brilliant masterpiece...
Its been like a week since a finished the book but I am unable to form words to represent the emotions, tragedy, despair, and suffering of the character with the uncertainty of HEA...
After so much time, still, I am a sobbing blubbering mess...

This book could make a person, who has never been in love , Cry from the heartbreak in the book..
but believe it was soo worth it...the ending was so satisfying....to the perfection.

Valentina... oh Valentina...I have never felt so sorry for a character... I love her and could emphasize all the choices she made in the book. Although this book follows an RH trope, it kinda had a realistic edge...All the characters were aware of it being a nonconventional relationship... I could feel the desperation and jealousy seeping through the pages...outstanding job to both the authors.

THIS LOVE STORY was pure and it makes us believe in the power and miracle of LOVE.
I would recommend everyone reading this review to read this book...
SERIOUSLY GUYS!!! You won't regret it...

"Why do I feel like each step of this journey is actually a goodbye?” he whispers hoarsely.
“Maybe every step we take in life is actually a step towards goodbye,” I answer.

ASTOUNDING! PASSIONATE! ADVENTUROUS!

Going into this duet I knew two things based on what my friends told me! It was RH & it was going to make me cry! Now, I don't read a lot of RH because it's just not my jam! They are usually filled with more of a physical connection than emotional...I need to feel that emotional connection between my characters. But my friends KNOW me and they just knew I'd love it! So in I went!

WOW!!! I MEAN WOW! Knowing it was RH did not prepare me for the connection that this heroine built with each of these characters! I loved how feisty and loving she was to each of them. The relationship she built with each individually was so unique to them alone! Each of these characters are broken in some way! Some in ways you can't even see because to the outsider looking in you think...oh they have everything they could ever want; except they don't. What one needs isn't the same as what the person standing next to them needs and so on! I feel like Valentina stepped into their little world and patched each of them up in a way that can only happen when true selfless love is present!

Valentina's Dad! I freaking love her dad! How #teamValentina he was...no matter what! THAT RIGHT THERE is what every single kid in this world needs and deserves! I not only adored the relationship she had with her dad but also the way he took to these boys that fell for his little girl! It made my heart so happy too!

That cliffhanger! I love reading duets and trilogies for one couple; even though those cliffy's tend to steal my breath away. Because sometimes we aren't quite ready to let a couple go after just one book. The great thing about this duet is both books are out now so you can binge!!!

Talk about putting my heart on a roller coaster of emotions. This book is such a heartbreakingly bittersweet yet beautiful read but the romantic in me was shouting out in the back of my brain please dont end how i think it will?? I have everything crossed for a HEA ending in book 2 but i cant see that happening and i know that im going to be so upset. I struggled to keep the tears at bay whilst reading this book. I kept thinking Valentina (FMC), Logan, Carter & Quaid could just get over their hurt and misgivings they could have something really special together. They were so obviously all perfect for each other even if it would have been an unorthodox relationship to others. Even with the tears reading it i would happily go all through that because this book is so worth it. I couldnt love it more and im counting down the days until book 2 comes out to go through all the emotions all over again

*I received an eARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

When I heard that two of my absolute favorite romance authors were teaming up to co-write a book, believe me when I say I was stoked. I didn’t even need to know what the book was about, I was just prepared to go in and fall in love. And that’s what I did. All the way. This book had my whole heart and didn’t let go throughout the entire book. I went in with high expectations and this book broke all of them to shreds. It deserves all of the stars and more. I need the next book like I need air!

This book KILLED me in the best way, and I didn't realise that it was a duet gahhhhhh now I have to wait for the second book!!

I have my suspicions surrounding this plot, and I pray to god I am right. I loved the flashbacks to how these four found each other, how different they all were and yet so right for each other. The fact that all three were in a position to drop everything was rather convenient, but I just didn't care. I cannot wait to see what happens going forward.

Ten years is a long time, especially for one of them. Can they all get over their past, and do they have a future>

This book is the first of a duet and ends on a very worrisome cliffhanger which made me anxious to know what will happen next.
Loved the fact that the book switched from past to present to help us understand and connect with the characters. Also love the the quad POV.
••••••
I had a few issues that prevented me from giving this book 5 stars. The fact the the characters as 12-13 year old children were having thoughts as of grownups, it felt weird. And I felt I didn't get enough of the background story, I wanted to know what made the 10 year separation and what happened just before that. But I have a feeling that tge authors will reveal in the second book of the duet.
••••••
All in all this book is packed with heat, sexiness, heartache, loneliness, unconditional love, and a love of a life time.

Soulmates. Logan was their heart, Carter was their soul, Quaid was their pulse, and Valentina was their everything. Until she walked away. They asked for the impossible and she couldn't give it to them. Now she's asking them to give her more than they may be willing to give. She has three months to live and she wants to spend them with the missing pieces of her heart. Will they be able to give her a taste of the life she wanted or will they ignore her call? Will they take a break from their successful lives to be with the girl that once showed them what true happiness was?

I don't have the words. This book is pure emotion. It made me ache. It took my breath away and made my heart pound. It destroyed me in the best way. And I know the worst is yet to come. This is difficult for me. I'm the reader that demands a HEA but that is not a possibility, so I need something different from this duet. I need for past hurts to heal, I need openness and honesty, I need for last moments to be shared, I need to know that time doesn't matter, I need for love to be recognized. I need to know that this matters; that it all meant something in the end. I need to know that soulmates means forever.

I literally can't find the right words to express how I feel after reading this book.... a few come to mind but don't really do it justice, but I will try....
Heartbroken.. definitely!
In love ... hell yes! (Team Carter all the way)
Devastated... goes without saying!
Impatient... you better believe it!
This lovely duo of authors know how to bring all the feels!
This book is about Valentina and her boys, Quaid the boy who needed nurturing, Logan the boy who was her rock and Carter the angry boy who was her impetus.
It switches between then and now, with various POV 's. It's a beautiful second chance love story, which I feel may actually get a helluva lot sadder before we (and ladies you better deliver) get our HEA. It ends in a cliffhanger and I am very impatient for the next book.
Do yourself a favour get the tissues ready and settle in for a roller coaster of emotions.

Oh my gosh ladies... you have stolen and broken my heart. These characters were perfection from word one. This book is everything i could have expected from two of my favorite authors coming together. But, I wasn’t expecting this all consuming, roller coaster of emotions. How can you not feel for all of them, for wishing it could be easier and they could just understand how important they all are together. The next book can’t come soon enough. Bravo ladies. I love it!

Oh my..... what do you get when two epic authors team up? Magic, you get nothing less than magic translated into words on pages. Apart Ivy & C.R. write amazing books with all the feels, and together it just becomes so much more.

I did at times struggle with the FMC, she seemed incredibly selfish to me. But I don't for one second believe that's an oversight from these two seasoned ladies. I have come to trust them to take me where I need to go, even when they keep tearing my heart apart.

Let's see....

This book is a reverse harem and I literally could not pick a favorite out of the guys. Like the only people I had somewhat of an interest in were Valentina and her dad 😭

All these dudes need therapy. Like I'm so serious. There's no way you can say you've been in love with this girl for years and in the same breath blame her for ruining your lives (they were actually saying that shit!!).

Valentina is such a sweetheart and I feel so bad for what she's going through. I wanna give her a big hug through the screen lmao. I wonder how the time they're spending together would've turned out if she just told them that she was sick (I am ashamed to say that the miscommunication[?] trope snuck up on me and I didn't realize it until towards the end of the book LMAO). I also wonder how their relationship would've turned out if she just straight up told them that she loves all three of them and wants them to be in her life. However, knowing how hard headed and quick-mouthed these three are, would they have even been happy with that arrangement? 😕 But what can we do? 🤷‍♀️

Okay let's talk about the guys:

Logan is kinda just there :/ and I don't really know what Val likes about him BUT WE MOVE 🤨✋️ I liked his character when he was younger a lot more than when he's all grown up.

I know I said I didn't have a favorite but if there was anyone I liked the most out of this three, it's Quaid. At least he made me giggle (especially with that silly ass name).

And then there's Carter 😐 Sorry not sorry but once an asshole, always an asshole. This dude mad as shit cause he came to the conclusion that Val don't want him like you literally just made that up 😭😭 And then [SLIGHT SPOILER ALERT] that flashback chapter where he and Val were making out and her dad caught them pissed me off. Like that boy did not even care even a little bit and good job for Val's dad on establishing that boundary (he's a little late on that but that's conversation for another day) and telling her to slow down and figure herself out first!

Lord anyways this is just the first book out of a duet so hopefully book 2 is better. Walk it off stink lmao we'll get 'em next time!

(P.S. I may sound like I'm talking a lot of shit but let it be known that I DID NOT hate the book. I just thought it was meh)

If a tear-stained Kindle is any indication of how this review is going to go, then hold on. I mean, did you read the blurb? It’s like one giant flashing neon warning sign. I read the blurb and I embarked on the story that is Breathe Me with the knowledge that it would end in heartache or heartbreak or both. I began this journey willingly, armed with a box of tissues, both for the sad tears that were promised and the happy ones I was surprised to find along the way. And let me say that it does not disappoint! C.R. Jane and Ivy Fox have crafted one hell of an emotional rollercoaster.

The story of Valentina, Logan, Quaid, and Carter is so genuine and heartfelt and utterly breathtaking. To meet your soulmate, let alone all of them, at such a young age and all at once, has got to be both overwhelming and satisfying. I loved that we get to see how these four meet and how their bonds are developed and tested. There are hints at the heartache that caused their first separation. I hope we get to see that.

My heart is breaking for all of these characters. I’m so in love with each of them. I ache for Valentina and the cards fate has dealt her. I ache for Logan and Carter and Quaid being in love with her and needing her to choose. I ache for the moment when the guys will finally learn Valentina’s secret. I ache for how these soulmates will deal with a final separation.

Both authors promise the conclusion to this duet will be emotionally gut-wrenching. Like I said at the beginning, I knew that going in this story would break my heart. I guess it makes me a masochist that I loved it as much as I have so far, and that I’m looking forward to having my heart decimated in Breathe You!

"If Logan was the heart of our little group, and Carter was the soul, Quaid was the very pulse of life that beat between us."

This book was everything I thought it would be and more. The story line, though sad, was beautiful! It was a second chance reverse harem that was portrayed in such a realistic manner. I never wanted it to end.

Logan was such a sweetheart you can't help but to love him. He's protective just as Carter and Quaid are but Logan is more if a take care of you type of lover. He can recite poetry and knows the right things to say. His eyes give away his soul. The love him and Val shared was beautiful. Her love with each of the boys is unique.

Carter is forever the brooding quiet boy. His darkness almost matches Val's and sucks her in. They have both experienced tragedy, loss, and the unknown in their young lives even though their stories are different, it makes them kindred souls. It gives their love that uniqueness. However, Carter is not one to share.

Quaid, omg, Quaid! Quaid is the funny guy. He kept me laughing. He knows how to lighten a mood. He tried to always keep the mood light especially for Val. But he'd also fight anyone to protect her.

When she left ten years ago, Val broke them and took a piece imif each of them with her. But they don't know how much she broke herself either. While her reasoning for contacting them after so long is devastating, it's the best thing for all of them....at first. Quaid and Logan easily fall back into Val and love every second of it. Carter fights it tooth and nail because he's afraid of the hurt and being left again. All she wants is three months to love them and to feel again. She just wants to breathe again. The question is, can they handle it? Can they suck it up for her? Will she be honest with them?

This book does end in a cliffhanger! There is a second book coming very soon though so we don't have to wait long.

This book was so beautifully written! The authors did a beautiful job with each character and giving them and each of their loves and passions a unique story. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I do recommend this book. I also recommend tissues while reading!

*An ARC was given to me for an honest review.*

Oh boy, give me just a second to blink through these tears that have misted my eyes. What a fantastic journey we are currently experiencing with these characters. There are so many emotions swirling around each of them and it is beautiful to watch everything unfold in front of us.

I'm never one to skip ahead in books but let me tell you it is oh so tempting when you are switching back and forth between then and now! I want all of the answers right now. The then chapters have such a heartwarming vibe to them, young love is so adorable to watch. Some of my favorite moments in this book happened in the past. The now chapters are full of hope and longing. I desperately want to know how things are going to end but never want to story to stop.

Val is such a strong woman who has had so much hardship in her life. She has faced many difficult decisions and situations. I fear with this only being the first half, she has many more to encounter before the conclusion of the series.

I am quite attached to each of the guys, all for different reasons. I'm really excited/dreading (quite the mix of emotions I know!) watching their reactions unfold in the book to come.

There is a depth to not only the characters and their background before they met, but also their story of what happened in the past. I feel as if we are only scratching the surface so far and are in for quite an emotional second half of this love story.

As far as a co-write goes these authors knocked it out of the park. I love seeing their friendship and respect for eachother both on Facebook and in their notes at the end. You can also see the effects this had on the book seeing as how they blended their writing into a seamless story. I loved this book and look forward to reading anything these two collaborat on!

I should probably stop rambling on, but if you take one thing away from this review know that I 100% recommend this book!

I know that anytime I pick a book up with Ivy Fox on the cover, I'm going to be in for an emotional ride. This is the first time I've read anything by C.R. Jane but their writing flows so beautifully together that you truly can't tell where one starts and the other begins.

The story is an emotional one (again, it's Ivy Fox so I'm not surprised here! Lol) but it's a beautiful one.

I feel like the looks into the past and back again to the present made this book that much more enjoyable for me. I absolutely loved getting to know the characters when they first meet and seeing their connection and relationships grow together.

As adults, when they are reunited, it's beautiful yet heartbreaking. Especially the POV from one particular broody man lol

The guys: Logan, Quaid and Carter are so different from the other but truly make such a great group of friends. Their personalities all work together and where one struggles, the others are there to lift them up. It's really something special to read.

I loved seeing the relationship between Val and her father from not just her POV but also the guys. The connection between her father and those boys was so heartwarming and gave me all kinds of feelings <3

The ending is a bit brutal; you're left trying to read more, frantically trying to swipe to the next page but there's nothing there. Thankfully we don't have long to wait until the conclusion releases but honestly? I think I could read about these characters and their lives together for many more than just two books.

I know this is just book one of two, but I'm already crossing my fingers for novellas in the future. <3 <3

Wow guys, just wow!! So going in I knew that these two authors would write an epic story. They delivered. I felt for Valentina so very much. All that she has gone through and is going through. Her strength blew me away. She does not tell the guys that she is dying or even sick, which honestly I would want my last months to be of happiness not sadness.

The guys, yes they have moved on, with their careers not their love lives. Each one has always felt like that there was a piece missing from their lives. I so enjoyed getting to read their POV's and how each one of them felt. As always there is one that is going to be a little difficult but I will let you figure out who that is.

This is going to be such a sweet story and I know that I am going to have my heart broken. But I am trusting CR and Ivy to put it back together again.

The story jumps back and forth from present to past. Which I am not a huge fan of, it is kinda hard to keep track of, especially since the past is also different pov's. I get that they need to establish a connection and a past between the characters, but I am not a big fan of those. It is just a personal preference and does not take away anything from the story.

So in closing, Breathe Me fits the theme of the story so well. So while you sit down to read this, just keep in mind that you might be shedding a tear or two. This is definitely one that is going to tug on the heart strings. Oh and fyi, there is a pretty big cliffy at the end. Good thing we do not have long to wait for part two.

I’m floored!
.
A beautiful masterpiece that hits you with the feels from the first word. This second chance reverse harem romance is truly something that will take you on an emotional journey.
.
Stunning work by these fabulous authors. The heartache, longing, loneliness was so captivating and so deep in this book, I was so drawn in by the raw intensity and emotion. A story we can easily relate to in some form which makes the experience reading this, all the richer.
.
Val and the guys have a connection so deep it leaves a longing in you to find the same. It was heartbreaking reading their journey and how they ended up. That ending is so relatable when looking at the vast emptiness of ones world and such a significant symbol of the vulnerability we all have when facing similar issues.
.
I didn’t expect to be hit so hard with this, and that ending made me feel like my heart stopped and my breath to catch. I fee like I can’t function until I’ve read the second book and with how we left this book, I need it now. This book took me to the edge, but I’m ready to be pushed over. Bring on book 2.

Okay, so I really enjoyed this book even though it was a really emotional read. Thankfully it's a romance so I had some hope throughout. I generally don't like reverse harems and I still struggled a lot with this concept in this book. I also hated that the gap was 10 years. It just seemed like too long for them all to have left this chasm growing, especially since the boys fall out from each other. That aspect really made me think a lot of what they were supposed to be to each other was just more shallow than anything else. It's a cliffy.

This book made me cry. It flips back and forth from present day to their middle school/high school years. While I felt all the feels from Val, unfortunately, I had a hard time with the boys in this book. They really didn't seem to have very strong characterization. Two of them go from dysfunctional adults to supportive lovers like all their problems are just miraculously cured as soon as they land in France and see Val again. There was just a lot that didn't get focused on that should have.

I would definitely read more by these authors though just to see if they do it better when they don't have so many people to juggle.

I just finished book of the books in this duet and UGH. I am so emotional. I love the intensity of CR Jane’s writing, and even with this co-write, it was no different. Definitely same emotional impact as The Sounds of Us trilogy and Heartbreak Prince.

I loved how it started with the prologue, but I will admit that I am not a fan of the back and forth then and now chapters. I would rather have then and now all at once, even if i do understand the why behind it. I would’ve also loved to have read the letters that she sent them.

Also, TEN years?! So heartbreaking. Kills meeeee. It absolutely breaks my heart when there’s time jumps apart like that (even though I’m ever the masochist and love it.) I was not only sad for their romance, but the guys friendship.

I really liked the characters. I felt like they were written well, Valentina especially, even if i hated the secret she was keeping.

Definitely a worthwhile read! I’ll be thinking about it for days to come.

Talk about at the edge of me seat, this book pulled at my heart strings the whole way through. I loved every character. I’m not a fan of books that skip back and forth between the past and the present but surprisingly it didn’t bother me because it’s what made the story. Each guy Logan, Quaid and Carter came from different backgrounds but yet they were all the same. I loved this book.

“You four are like the magnets in a compass. You might be pulling in your own different directions, but remain tied together at the very center—a beautiful compass that will always show you the way back to each other, no matter the hardships that may lay ahead.”

I especially liked the kind hearted Eric Rossi my favorite character out this entire book. He was a wise soul that told it like it was.

The ending does leave you on a cliffhanger so be prepared and the second book gets even better.

I knew I was in for an emotional rollercoaster when Ivy Fox and C.R. Jane announced their first cowrite together. These 2 authors have both managed to move me to tears with most of their books separately and I could only imagine the ache and angst these 2 would bring upon me with Breathe Me.
The 2 very distinct voices of these authors mix perfectly and together they tell us the gripping and heartbreaking love story of Valentina Rossi and her boys, now men. They give us the different POV's of all the main characters, alternating between the past and present, slowly giving us more information as to why these characters fell apart to begin with and why they are now reunited once more.
This book comes with a trigger warning, so if you are sensitive for certain triggers, it's best to get a little more information before going in. This book is achingly beautiful, but really intense and it ends on a cliffhanger. But, the sequel is coming soon after this, so we won't have to wait too long for the finale of this duet.
