Back and forth on this one.

Chloe dreams of one day being a country music superstar. When a stalker gets more threatening, her best friends brother calls in reinforcements. Jake struggles with being a bodyguard due to his prosthetic. He's not sure how he's going to manage protecting her and not getting emotionally involved.

A cute forced proximity romance. Took a twist I wasn't expecting close to the end.. But I won't lie, Jake went back and forth a little too much for my personal liking. I get having your own baggage but eek.

I adored the side story of Piper and Rafe.

Non-stop action with a stalker, snowstorm, avalanche and more. You won’t want to put this aside until you know everyone is safe!

We all have our struggles, but some folks certainly have a tougher row to hoe than others. Chloe Rose is an up-and-coming country singer who almost died before her celiac disease was finally diagnosed. Can she once again find the strength to go on?

Enter the Stryker Security Force with Jake and Rafe. As former Special Ops, they have their own inner battles, but Jake has more demons than he wants to admit. Can Jake and Chloe overcome their insecurities and fight for themselves and each other?

These impressions and comments are my own and were in no way solicited.

Good story but flat SPOILERS

I really enjoyed book one and liked Jake so bought his book but am very disappointed. Chloe has a stalker and he is assigned to help so he takes her off in an airplane problems arise and they crash land - there just happens to be a cabin where they land where they stay for a few days before being rescued. Of course he backs off/ breaks her heart ( the ONLY drama) nothing else on the stalker and of course a HEA. FLAT somewhat dry. I kept reading thinking ok the stalker followed them - nope. Absolutely nothing! So dont waste your money on this one. Certainly not worth the price.

Crashing Into Jake is an amazing book. While Sara Blackard weaves together mystery and romance, she touches on illness that affect many in real life. As her characters evolve, they learn that just maybe the things they once thought could never be, just might happen. A stand alone story but also a chapter from a series. I'm sure you will enjoy and Luke me, watch & wait for more.

Crashing Into Jake from Sara Blackard Is a very well written Christian book. It's an exciting story in which a lot of things happen. It's an interesting book with a realistic story. The characters are so lifelike that you start to think they really exist, it's a captivating story to the end and I could barely put the book down.

I'm so glad that Jake got a 'princess' that acts a lot like a grown-up version of Eva just in a different looking package called Chloe, and will be getting his 'happily ever after' after all.

It seems sort of fitting that Jake is reading 'Beauty and the Beast' to Eva right before Rafe tells him they have to leave. Then both Jake and Chloe seems to think they are unloveable by anyone other than their family and very close friends; while both of them dream, or used to dream and still wish it could happen, that someone will love them enough to look past their scars and percieved shortcomings, to spend the rest of their lives with them without being appalled by them or pitying them.

I kind of wish we got a glimps of Eva and Chloe meeting for the first time.
I can't wait to see how Rafe and Piper's story unfolds, and maybe finding out if Davis will react like everyone thinks he will when he finds out Rafe and Piper like each other A LOT!!! It will be interesting to meet Davis, since Rafe refers to him in his thoughts in Mission Out of Control; and Piper, Chloe and Rafe (to name a few) talk about him in Crashing Into Jake.

I received an ARC to review: the next Stryker Security macho hunk falls prey to romance!! I just love how Sara takes these tough bodyguard, super-muscled guys and shows their soft n cuddly sides! Jake, Grouchy Grump(!!) was particularly fun to read and 'watch' him succumb to his bubbly pixie! But then again, what choice does he have when shut in a cabin in the middle of a blizzard with said pixie?! Sara's Stryker Security series combines mystery, action, family, love, romance and faith, creating a delightful, edgy, sweet but spicy, read, each time. Each story is unique and unputdownable!

Book four in the Stryker Security Force series brings strong characters in Jake and Chloe. The author brings an action packed story with vividly painted scenes and weaves an interesting read. They each have issues to work through before they can find their HEA. It's well written ,moves fluidly and is an entertaining read.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Another winner in this series. The stories of two people, Chloe and Jake, who believe they are unworthy of love. Chloe has a stalker and Jake is sent as part of a security team. After a plane crash that leaves them stranded, they believe they were wrong. When they were rescued doubts return. Can they overcome their fears?

This is the 3rd book in this series and my favorite so far, though I've enjoyed them all. This one especially drew me in for personal reasons, and in fact I read the book twice in quick succession. It also left an unsolved mystery, so now waiting anxiously for the next book in the series. If you haven't read the earlier novella regarding the mission that took the life of Ethan Stryker, I recommend you do so because it would help in understanding Jake. However it's not necessary as this novel gives the background.

When a book keeps me awake, as this did, well...then you know it's a good one.
Ms Blackard sure knows how to spin a yarn. After receiving this book as an ARC I can honestly say that I enjoyed this book.
As the saga of the Stryker force continues I look forward to reading about each of the guys who seem so well known and familiar.
The story is insightful and the characters are down to earth and relatable .
Seeing how Jake- the beast -is proven to be a prince, as predicted by Eva, is endearing.
I'm eagerly anticipating the next book.

Two hurting people get courage

Chloe is an up-and-coming country singer with severe celiac disease, and Jake is a wounded warrior in the security business. When Jake is hired to protect her from a stalker, they share an adventure and fall in love. But fear and doubts about their individual weaknesses threaten to keep them apart. The romance and the suspense are both good.

I was so ready to fall in love with this book. I fell in love with Jake from the first moment I met him--maybe more than any of the others--so I was dying for his story. And then the survival aspect (my favorite), and the fact that Jake and Chloe are dealing with the limitations of a prosthetic limb and a chronic illness, respectively? I was so, so in and wanted to love this story so much.

But...it was like all the niggling issues I've had with the other books in the series were ratcheted up in this one. The whole deal with burning Piper's old underwear (along with the rest of her "boring" clothes) was played up too much for my comfort--especially when Chloe went into detail to the guys about the difference between plain and lacy underwear. I get that she was doing her best to save an already awkward situation, but--just no. Way too much. But I pushed on, hoping that when we were through that embarrassment, things would be better.

And then the kissing started. SO. MUCH. KISSING. And it was WAY more descriptive than I like, to the point where I was going--people actually do these things when they're kissing each other?!? Yes, I'm sheltered. But there's a way to write kissing in books that doesn't make me uncomfortable, and this wasn't it. There's even a way to be more descriptive than I prefer without making me shrink away because I'm getting pictures in my mind that I shouldn't have. The other books in this series have come right up to that line, but this one went over it. On top of that--if a guy (or a girl, for that matter) tells you there need to be ground rules if they're going to keep their honor intact, YOU DO NOT POUT ABOUT IT AND ACT LIKE IT'S SILLY!!! PERIOD!!! I'm sort of amazed that they did manage to keep things honorable with all the passion that was flying, but that attitude bugged me to no end! As did the fact that Chloe asked Jake to hold her a couple of times as they were falling asleep (in sleeping bags, but--still not right).

Unfortunately, the negatives (especially the issues above) bugged me badly enough that I couldn't appreciate the wonderful characters and their meaningful struggles and lessons like I wanted to. There were good parts of the book--the way that Jake and Chloe overcame their insecurities; Chloe's low-key meddling in Rafe and Piper's relationship; Zeke and Eva's intervention with Jake; all the survival stuff; the chronic illness aspect--it was all great, but the overload of physical romance, not-smart choices, and very descriptive kissing didn't let me enjoy it the way I wanted to.

Content--see above for embarrassing and romantic content; some mild language (sucks, heck, etc.); frightening situations, including a stalker and a plane crash

a great romance

I really liked the story and how the characters overcame their insecurities. The tension at the beginning was awesome, but I felt like the suspense disappeared. Wish there had been more through to the end. It was still a good story.

We follow Chloe as she faces a stalker. Her cousin calls in for help, and in comes Jake, who is dealing with the aftermath of his time in the army. I thought the book was ok. I just didn't feel like I believed the romance. It just moved a bit too quickly for me. Plot was good though.3.5 stars.

I don’t believe I’ve ever read about a heroine who has to deal with celiac disease before. It was eye-opening for those like me who really don’t understand how it affects a person’s life. The one thing about Chloe, and it caused me to respect her character, is that she refused to dwell on what she couldn’t do, but on what she could. It helped that she had her wonderful and supportive cousin, Piper, who is an important secondary character throughout most of the book, at her side. Their relationship was a strong part of why I liked this story so much.

The first chapter delves into Chloe and Piper’s backstory and provides key information for things that happen further on. What tickled my funny bone was the question, “When have I steered you wrong?” and the other person started listing all the crazy things they did, which got me to laugh. It also dogged my memory as to where I heard that phrase before until I remembered, and I laughed all the harder. Cleo from Clifford, the Big Red Dog always said that phrase right before she did indeed steer T-Bone and Clifford into some zany escapade. Gosh, my kids haven’t watched that in years, yet I still remember. And Chloe, in Crashing into Jake, totally had those ‘Cleo’ vibes going when she suggested they have a clothing bonfire. Yeah, that didn’t go quite as planned. *insert snicker*

If Chloe is an unusual heroine, her match is the equally fascinating and unique hero, Jake. If you read the first three stories, then you know that he suffered an injury in his last assignment for the military. Readers don’t have to read the books in order since they are pretty solid as standalones, but for those that have, they’ll remember Jake lost his leg below the knee. His prosthetic doesn’t slow him down, it doesn’t stop him from being perfect hero material, but it does challenge him, and he ends up using the device in a most unusual way. It was pragmatic, but it still made me grin.

The external conflict stems from threatening notes Chloe receives. It creeps them out badly enough that when Piper’s brother calls and they fill him in, the next thing I know, guys from Stryker Security Force are at the girls’ door. That is when the story takes off and the adventure begins. It turns out that both ladies know one of the two men that respond, Rafe. He’s a secondary character in this book, but like Piper, is integral to Chloe and Jake’s story and romance. This is also the point when I realize that this book series is starting to sound like a family community, and it feels nice.

All the chapters afterwards are filled with awesome dialogue between Jake and Chloe, Piper, Rafe, Zeke, and my favorite little princess, Eva. There are balloon rides, an avalanche, and a restaurant scene that showed Jake’s hero side when the ordered food was practically everything that could kill Chloe. That’s when I think the relationship started to change, and Cupid’s little arrow started to have its effect. Then there are the scheduled ‘kissing times’. I’m not about to explain what that means – it would spoil the fun. I was entertained and I enjoyed watching their love grow, until their own internal conflicts mucked it up. Sometimes more communication leads to not enough communication. Leave it to little Eva to stomp her feet and give ‘Uncle Jake’ the what-for when he needed it most.

I enjoyed the romance, the story and all its characters. They’re really growing on me. The affirmation of Jake and Chloe’s love was very public and wonderful. I’m not sharing how that comes to pass. Also, there is an epilogue but it’s more of a teaser into the next book, which, as it turns out, is Rafe’s story. I am extremely curious what I’ll find when I read his book. He’s a jokester, the one that smiles and somehow finds the fun in any situation. But, as in real life, those that laugh the loudest and work the hardest while making it look easy in order to make everyone smile around them, oftentimes are the ones that hide deep pain. As a hook, it’s perfect. You know what I’ll be reading next. As for Crashing into Jake, it’s a great read with a wonderful romance story filled with great character development, camaraderie, dialogue from all the cast members, and a happy ever after ending that satisfies. It’s another keeper to go with the first three books, that’s for sure.

The right person will always see the beauty in you...
by and1515

Fair, nope life wasn't always fair but Chloe knew she had more the some and less the most.
Then her cousins lost their parents so they came to live with her and her absent family.
Even with all the problems she had there was one thing that kept her spirits soaring and that was all her beautiful dreams and yes she knew it wouldn't be easy.
But she felt so sure she'd get there eventually.
However there was another message that left them even more concerned then ever before.
Jake had been watching the little princess Eva when he'd been rescued from possiblity reading the same fairytale again he'd been summoned by the big boss man to take on their latest case.
The girls promised they would wait patiently indoors but that didn't mean they were going to abbandon their plans totally.
Nope it was time to strick a match and offer up their tributes.
But just as they were starting their little ritual it was unfortunately intrupted by the arrival of the guys Piper's brother had promised would help them deal the weird messages.
Jake was starting to see Chloe differently especially as she gave the younger teen girl more hope that she to could have a better life.
Jake knew he should have paid better attention to the weather but he hadn't and now...
He was definitely a miracle worker and now that they were safely on terra firma again.
Okay so they were now stuck in the middle of nowhere In a tiny shack with less then ideal conditions.
But it was the right recipe for getting to know someone with no where for either one to hide.
However once they were finally rescued Jake was one stubborn idiot he let fear and doubt take over so he did what any biggest fools would do.
But what Jake really needed was word of wisdom from a little princess who didn't mince words and when his friend her daddy added his own two cents.
Jake knew even as scared as he was he needed her just as much but now how did he convince Chloe to give him another chance?

I absolutely loved this one! When Jake was first introduced earlier in the series I knew his book was going to be one of my favorites and it definitely lived up to that.

I love that Jake is a grump "beast" who sees himself just by his outward appearance. He is scarred and has lost part of his leg due to war injuries. He is stuck in that view of himself until Chloe is able to help him see his true value and goodness.

I love that Chloe is a rep for Celiac and that we got to see a sneak peek into what life is like with Celiac. I love that she also struggled with self-worth and not wanting to be a burden to others but Jake could help her see she was more than her diagnosis.

I love that there was a theme throughout the book that we are all more than our diagnosis or damage. That we all have value and we need to cherish each other for what makes us all unique individuals.

Yes there was a little bit of wishy washy ness from Jake. But honestly he has been through so much so to me it made sense that he was that way. I know I would struggle with self acceptance especially when he saw so many things as failures.

I could go on and on, but truly this was a wonderful book. Plus I mean they were stuck together in a blizzard so ultimate forced proximity, one bed, all the kisses and kissing rules...and yeah. Just perfect!

This is book four in The Stryker Security Force Series and it is Jake and Chloe's story. Chloe is part of a band and she is in Colorado for a bit with her cousin Piper who is also her manager. Chloe has to be very careful as she has a medical condition that she has to be in control of or she could die and now to add more pressure she has a stalker and needs security. Jake was in the army special forces but when a mission went wrong he lost part of his leg and has scars on his face so now he is out and working for Stryker Security who are his brother's and family. When things get really bad with the stalker Jake decides to fly Chloe to the ranch to keep her safe but things don't always go as planned. Make and Chloe has such a strong connection and chemistry between them right from the start but unfortunately they both have so much baggage between them that will they ever be able to get through it so that they can have a chance of being together. Omg I couldn't put this book down as it had great characters and storyline that pulled you in right from the first page and it was so addictive. Sara Blackard is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book and series and you will not be disappointed.

My review today is on the romantic suspense, Crashing into Jake. This is book four in the series Stryker Security Force. Sara has become one of my favorite authors. This series has been incredible. This story is well-written, action-packed, and full of drama. I know you are going to love it.

Chloe Rose has overcame her illness to become a singer. She has a concert coming up in a few days here in Colorado. She also has a stalker. Her manager tells her brother about the stalker. He calls his best friend and his buddies from Stryker to protect her. She wasn't expecting her bodyguards to be a man she grew up with and a rugged mountain of a man, Jake.

Ex military security specialist Jake Silva is a broken mess. He had been badly injured in their last mission and sees himself as a man without a future. He is bowled over when he meets Chloe. She is everything he has ever dreamed of but much to good for him. He needs to keep her safe with out breaking his heart in the process.

A harrowing journey as they run from a stalker and crash land into the mountains of Colorado. God has a plan for these two, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, A good plan for peace and not for destruction. You must give Him your heart and trust Him to turn your life around.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Jake was injured during his last op. He is scarred and missing a limb. He does not see his wounds as a hero's wounds. He does not see a Hero that was injured in service to his country. He does not see a survivor. He exists in fear of his nightmares and the monster he thinks it makes him. He embraces all things negative about his injuries. Eva sees him as a handsome Prince awaiting his Princess. Chloe has a disease that compromises her life. She was diagnosed with Celiac's, during her senior year, which basically made her body severely allergic to gluten. Piper and Davis lived with Chloe and her family after their parents died. Davis and Rafe were best friends and Piper had a major crush on Rafe. A stalker was following the band. Davis asked the team to protect his sister and cousin. Piper and Jake saw things they couldn't see in themselves. Can Jake put his baggage down and see Piper? Do they catch the stalker? Will Eva get her wish? Nice story. Intense. It's nice learning the team's stories. Well done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Oh my goodness this book is so great, ì really enjoyed reading it. We have come to know the men of the Stryker Security series but this one takes us more deeply into the life of Jake. Jake is a really handsome guy, I mean look at the cover and you will have to agree with me! But Jake has memories that haunt him and he has the scars to prove it. When he is assigned to a mission to keep Davis's little sister Piper and her friend Chloe safe from a stalker he has no idea that his future could change but does he have the courage to have his life change? Chloe and Piper are beautiful young women that are great friends who travel together as Chloe and her band sing and Piper manages them. We get to see some beautiful country in this story that is full of suspense and romance. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read the next book in the series. You will love this book and I definitely recommend it if you enjoy suspense with romance.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher. This review is my own honest opinion.

Sara Blackard, she's done it again with this series! "Crashing into Jake" is no exception! The story in itself has you on the edge of your seat,I couldn't read fast enough to see what happens to these two people,Jake and his physical and mental problems and Rose, all she wants to do is sing,be a big star, be loved and show everyone she made it to the top until someone doesn't want her to. Follow the love story between these two plus see how both solve their personal problems that they struggle with. Will there even be a future for them? Follow how these two stubborn people deal with what life has thrown at them or can they separately or together? This is a very well written and emotional series I know you will so enjoy! I love how Miss Sara writes her stories and so will you! Christian base and clean you will not have any complaints when you are through. It's really nice to read something like this and not have all the sex scenes and vulgar words in it where there is a love and friendship so true!! Hope you enjoy like I have!

A nice story / novel where Jake and Chloe get to know each other better after being crashed with a plane.

Jake left the army after losing his lower leg on his last mission. Because of his disability, he is convinced that no woman can love him.
Chloe has been battling Celiac all her life, so she has to watch what she eats otherwise she could become very ill. This makes entering into a relationship almost impossible, also because she does not want to be a burden to another. Seeing Jake give substance to his life despite his disability makes her feel stronger too.
When she's stuck with him in a cabin in the mountains during a snowstorm, they get to know each other's insecurities. Despite this, a love grows between them that is almost destroyed because Jake continues to deny that he can do anything for others.

Nice story that sheds light on PTSD complaints after losing part of your life and body. Beautiful as described how Chloe leads a full life with her illness.

Awesome Addition to the Series

I love the broken heroes and truly strong heroines in this series by Sara Blackard. The fact that these men and women have integrity, set boundaries for themselves and stick to them, and are willing to sacrifice and compromise makes them so very relatable.

I found it interesting that the heroine in this book dealt with celiac. I have a couple acquaintances who have had to rework their lives because of the same malady. Being the wife of a veteran, I've also experienced what it's like for my husband when he came home from deployments and how he struggled with coming to terms with the atrocities he witnessed. We have a good friend who lost much of the muscle of one arm and had to learn how to use it again. It's great to see an author bringing these kinds of struggles to light and showing how a person can, not only survive such difficulties, but thrive. I hope you'll give this clean and spicy inspirational romance a try. (Yes, you read it correctly. The author manages to balance faith and life well!)

Jake works for Stryker Security Force and has the assignment to keep Chloe safe, an upcoming country singer from a stalker. Jake feels he will never have a family because of injuries he received on his last mission with the Army where he lost part of a leg and with facial scars that scares people away. Chloe almost died as a young adult due to her rich parents thinking her health complaints were a way to get attention until she is diagnosed with Celiac Disease, but since it went untreated for so long, she is highly susceptible to any gluten. Chloe feels that no man will be able to see past health issues and learn to love her for herself. Jake & Chloe are both broken on the inside thinking they are not worth love due to their health issues. Add a plane crash, stranded in the mountains during winter and an avalanche and you have a suspenseful romance brewing. I love how Sara shows that love is of the heart and looks past our infirmaries and our scars.

I throughly enjoyed Jake and Chloe’s story. Their instant attraction is intense and while Jake tries to stay focused on work things change once they become stranded in the mountains. Jake feels that he isn’t enough for Chloe and cant protect her because of his injury that he sustained on that last mission that changed all their lives. Not only does Jake feel he isn’t good enough for Chloe, he also begins thinking that he is a liability to the team in his condition. He does amazing taking care of them on the mountain, he needs to get out of his own head and let go of his insecurities. Glad he finally came to his senses and went to her instead of wallowing around his place when he pushed her away and left her at the hospital. Another great ending to this series. I can’t wait to read Rafe’s story next. Way to go again Sara.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Amazing, and so insightful! Sarah had written a gem of a book.
Jake a former soldier has a prosthetic leg and so joined a security company and works as a bodyguard. He is assigned caring for Chloe an up and rising music star. Their attraction makes each want more.
This is a non stop fast paced action read that never lets go till the end. Full of heart felt emotion as each have their own issues to deal with along with a stalker out to get Chloe.
So much drama that had them by the neck creating an intensity like no other. Yet their attraction creates a steamy atmosphere and an intimacy that is so sweet to read about. Ooh I want a Jake of my own! This was a new to me author but I certainly will look oirr for more by Sarah that's for sure!

I purchased Crashing into Jake ~ Stryker Security Force ~ Book 4 to listen to on my Kindle while on a two day car trip.

I loved this story of a wounded war hero and the pixie Chloe with her limitations due to an eating disorder. My very favorite character was three year old Eva with attitude, you can't miss how she has an influence on the plot and how adorable she makes her opinions heard.

Jake has lost his hope for having the life he always wanted, until he goes on a job to protect Chloe from a stocker, crashes a plane, survives a major blizzard in a wilderness cabin, breaks his protheses leg. Although Chloe faces daily challenges with her problems finding foods she can eat without getting deathly sick she keeps a positive attitude. Crashing into Jake is an exciting action romance with lots of fun moments along the way to happiness.

Jake is having struggles of not feeling as useful as he used to and Chloe is struggling with the new way she has to live her life. I love the way they both work through their problems together even though sometimes it was hard to read because they just went back and forth. Of whether they were talking, crying, or just mad at each other.

The end was a bit of a bummer because usually Sara’s books have a big suspenseful scene but instead we find out we have to read the next book for that scene. And with a different couple!!!
Usually I would be super ticked by this but the readers have already gotten to know this next couple and I can’t wait to see how there story turns out.

This book only had kissing and didn’t have any swear words. Perfect for anybody like me who hates unnecessary use of that content. 😊
