Ever woken up and realized your love life is tragic - as in award-winning tragic?

My love life is so bad that I literally won the Happily Ever After radio contest giveaway. The game was to see which listener had the most tragic dating story. I blew the dang competition out of the water with not one, not two, but three tragic tales.

And the prize? An all-expenses-paid weekend away at a luxury all-male resort.

Yep, typical me. An unlucky-in-love small-town kid who can't find Mr. Right... even if he pulls up next to me at the resort's swimup bar.

Even if the second I hear his sexy-as-sin British accent, my ears prick up.

Even if the moment I first catch a glimpse of his charming smile, shaggy black hair, and milky skin, I'm floored.

But with my track record, there's no way it would ever work out. Unless... Maybe... Somehow... He's different from the others?

Could the sexy Brit be the one to give me my happily ever after?

GIVEAWAY is a short and super sweet opposites attract, insta-love MM new adult romance. It features an adorable, nice guy falling for a British bad-boy chaser with a heart of gold. GIVEAWAY is the prequel novella to the super sweet, light and fluffy ESCAPE series. There are no cliffhangers (ew) and no cheating either (double ew).

You can read the books in whatever order your heart desires!

3 falling in love on vacation stars

“I do. I really, really, really like him. I’ve never felt anything like this before [...]. It’s more than attraction. It’s more than desire. It’s this feeling of just wanting to be around him and feeling so fucking good when I am. He...he lights me up.”

I don’t have much to say about this one, it was really cute for what it was and Casey Cox’s writting was as lovely as always.

Brief summary:Mitchell is 21 years old and he just won a contest to stay a weekend at an all-male resort. He won the contest because he has a shitty history of dating. Cayman is 24 years old and works at the resort as a go-go dancer. They meet and they both have a feeling like they’re meant to be together so they try to see if there could be something between them.

I really liked the vibes of this book. I loved how much talk about the resort and the ocean there was, that was really peaceful. I really enjoyed Mitchell, he was a really sweet guy. And all he wanted was to find a nice man for himself. I also enjoyed Cayman, I liked how he was so sweet to Mitchell, they fit really well together. I also enjoyed how these two talked to each other and how they were honest with the other, it was really nice to read about. Casey Cox’s writting is really lovely and really makes you interested in a story, even if nothing special is happening and that was the case for this book. I really love his writting, it’s so engaging.

I know this is a short and all of the story happens in like 2 days but damn... it just felt too fast for all the events of the book to happen. I just couldn’t see how they formed that much of a connection and how they could trust each other after two days. I would have needed more details about their connection for it to feel more believable.

This book was really sweet and an enjoyable take on this trope.

I read this in March and it wasn’t on goodreads yet. Now that it is, here’s my review!

Mitchell’s brother, Jedfire, entered him into a radio contest to win a weekend getaway to an LGBTQIA+ friendly resort in Florida. And he won it by telling his horrible dating stories, which didn’t seem anything crazy, just 2 cat fishing situations and a dude who sold drugs and had sex for money. I was expecting something more over the top cray cray with the amount of times it was brought up and the avoidance of telling the readers what actually happened until way later in the book. It was more that Mitchell was naive and too trusting, honestly.

But anyway... Mitchell goes to the resort and meets a cute guy who works there named Cayman. They have a nice few days together and seem to connect. But Mitchell is only there for a limited time... what will happen when it’s time to leave?

This novella was cute-ish but for some reason I just wasn’t connecting with it. I didn’t really like Cayman and he gave me a pretty shitty first impression. Mitchell was so-so but not all that special to me either. The writing was great and there were a few funny parts but I just felt myself getting a bit bored at the 30% mark and wanting to be done. For a shorter story that definitely isn’t great.

I’m still going to continue on with the series because I did like this author’s other series, 99 Daddies. So we’ll see.

This is the prequel to the upcoming series Escape. It was on Prolific Works for free.

Mitch is from L.A and has had crap luck at dating. His brother calls a radio station and enters him into a worse date contest and he wins. He gets a weekend away in Florida.

Cayman is originally frpm England but is working as a Go-Go dancer at the resort Mitch is going to. He usually goes for bad boys and one night stands and is no stranger to picking up and moving from place to place but feels he is stuck in a rut and wants more but also doubts he will find the one.

This was a super quick read. It was sweet and a little sexy. The characters were great and had great chemistry. The plot was interesting and well written with great series development. No angst and no cliffhangers and a HFN ending. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is cause it was a little too instalove and OTT mushy for my liking but it was a great read and I'm looking forward to reading the series.

This was a cute prequel to Getaway. It was well written with only one doozy of a mistake where Mitchell yells his own name when trying to chastise his brother. Anyway, with how short the story was, the character development was good and the instalove plot was fun.

Loved it!! Short, sexy, sweet, all the feel goods wrapped up with a HEA! Mitchell wins a radio contest trip to an all male resort in Florida that his brother Jed called in on. Mitchell meets Cayman and they both immediately recognize that they have a special connection and don't want it to end. Liked the ending. I only wish there had been a bit more with a proposal and maybe a trip back to the UK to meet Cayman's family.

What a getaway! Best friends since grade school and never thought of the other as being partners until that getaway weekend. Cassius was a funny go with the flow type of guy and Spencer was the organized one were a perfect match. Sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone to get what you want in life.

There are alot of side characters that I hope to see in future books because they helped make this story.

I volunteer to review this Advanced Readers Copy of this book.

A cute, short story about the contest winner mentioned in the first book of the Escape series. Mitchell is a sweetheart and Cayman is his perfect match.

An ok read but I found it a little slow and at times a touch boring. I did like the two men involved, Cayman and Mitchell but their romance was drawn out somewhat.

A sweet short read about finding love in the most unexpected place- a resort!

A lesson is learned and that is to always listen to your innermost gut feeling where matters of the heart is concerned.

That is what Mitchel discovered when he's path crossed with Go go dancer Cayman and Leo the resort owner.

I downloaded this free preview of the Escape series via bookfunnel and I am looking forward to the series!

I liked the sweet prequel novella, the start of a refreshing new series. Both main characters were decent people who deserved love. They were fun together. This book nicely set the scene for a new series. I recommend the next book in the series too!

Sweet & spicy

This was not really my thing. These guys are super young and set up as risk takers, so it makes sense for them. They meet, spend one day together, and then one of them moves across the country to be with the guy. I like there to be a little deeper connection in my romance novels.

That said, this is a pretty short novella and the sex is pretty hot. The guys are sympathetic. Just don't think about how it was probably 20 hours travel time for a 48 hour vacation.

Short but sweet

This short (60 minutes) story is a prequel novella to the Escape series by this author. It is a light and fluffy little romance with no unnecessary angst or drama. Overall, this was an enjoyable read.
