About the author

Peter Mohlin and Peter Nyström grew up together in a Swedish small town and created their first crime novel as 10-year-olds. After working professionally with editorial text and directing/scriptwriting for stage and film for many years, they decided to pick up where they left off in middle school and write a crime novel. They both love crime in all forms and realized their strengths were a fruitful combination: the journalist’s sharp pen mixed with the scriptwriter’s sense of dramaturgy and dialogue. The Bucket List, their debut novel, has been sold in 15 countries.

THE PLOT

Stella is the star. Alicia is "the other sister." And when Stella is found murdered, former FBI agent John Adderely is tasked with solving the case of the controversial dating app CEO while trying to run from his past.

You're balls deep in a great pretend session with your Barbies and your brother comes out of nowhere and punts Barbie across the room and then makes you watch him play with his GI Joe dolls for two hours before you can have your Barbies back

MY OPINION

Ok so 20% in I was like: "WOW this book is written by TWO men and I'm enjoying it". The writing was solid (typical scandi style so if you don't like it—stay away), the case was juicy j, and the pace was pacing. But then the Peters went full male author. I just knew they couldn't resist. It's like the meme of the guy holding his breath with his veins popping in his skull, that's male authors trying NOT to write some stupid ass deep operative drug cartel secret mafia storyline.

The Peters said "hold my beer" and made this stupid ass storyline more ridiculous than normal. In fact it made Harlan Coben's KGB shit from The Woods seem sensible. So homedog is in SWEDEN and still gets caught up by a NIGERIAN drug lord from his FBI undercover days and then is tortured via fucking microsoft teams video chat??? PLZ!!!

If the Peters had kept this male author boo boo to a minimum, the story would've been great. I would've loved to learn more about Raw—it's like the dating app in John Marrs' The One, but more plausible. I fully believe dating apps will be using bank data and other PPI to match singletons. But alas, the whole Raw thing was a footnote as John bent over backward trying to cover up his stupid ass crimes only to sing like a canary to a random and his boss. So he did all that, for WHAT!? Waste of time.

Ok and don't get me started on Alicia pining over a guy who dead ass said he was in love with another woman yet somehow she's like WE'RE MEANT TO BE!! and then is shocked he smashed and passed her ass. FREE MY LADIES!!!

So yeah. Generous three stars on account of the writing and the potential.

De andere waarheid is het tweede deel in de reeks rond John Adderley en is de opvolger van Het laatste leven. Dat boek heeft me echt verbaasd en werd al snel één van mijn favorieten van 2023. Ik was dus benieuwd wat dot tweede boek in petto ging hebben en was wat sceptisch op voorhand omdat ik wat mindere reviews en ratings zag passeren. Ik hoopte alvast dat het snel zo spannend ging zijn als Het laatste leven en dat we John opnieuw aan het werk konden zien. Deze keer duiken we in het leven van 2 zussen die een populaire zaak hebben die gericht is op het vinden van een match via een app. Op basis van vooraf gestelde vragen komen er matches te voorschijn en wordt je gekoppeld. Het verschil tussen de zussen kan echter niet groter zijn want Stella is de mooie van de 2 en zeer dominant, terwijl Alicia de teruggetrokken zus is en sterk verminkt is in haar gezicht. We leren beetje bij beetje ook meer over hun verleden en zien in het heden dat Stella vermoord wordt aangetroffen. Het boek focust ook weer sterk op John Adderley die nog steeds worstelt met de vijanden uit zijn verleden en hij loopt dan ook geen moment op zijn gemak. Doordat er in het boek af en toe meer gefocust wordt op zijn overlevingsinstinct, zakt de moordzaak van Stella wat in en lijkt het verhaal meer te neigen naar John’s pogingen om te ontsnappen aan zijn demonen. Ik stoorde me er niet echt aan want het verhaal las weer uitermate vlot en de moordzaak kende bovendien een goede, onverwachte ontknoping. Boek 1 was nog net dat tikkeltje beter misschien, maar De andere waarheid is absoluut een mooi vervolg. In november dit jaar komt deel 3 uit en daar kijk ik nu al naar uit. Voor De andere waarheid geef ik 4 mooie sterren.

It has been translated from Swedish by Ian Giles and follows directly on from The Bucket List. It can be read as a stand-alone, but there are several spoilers for the first book.

Having wrapped up the investigation into the decade-old disappearance of a clothing-chain heiress, former FBI agent John Adderley is about to quit Karlstad for anonymity in Germany when there’s a message from Trevor, the partner who also went into witness protection. John is extremely wary: it’s quite possible that members of the Nigerian drug cartel have hacked the secure site and are using Trevor to find him.

Against his better judgement, John meets with Trevor to find this is indeed the case. Only his insurance policy, a video of the cartel leader murdering a Baltimore cop, stops him from immediately running. Will extending his insurance to Trevor keep them both safe?

Meanwhile, in his cover as Detective Fredrik Adamsson with the Karlstad Police, John is called to the murder scene of Stella Bjelke, CEO and founder of the unique dating app, Raw. Disfigured by acid and her throat slashed with a chisel, Stella was apparently meeting someone for a Black Tantra date, as far as her younger sister, Alicia knew.

She tells John “Stella has a trail of haters who compete to puke all over her on social media. Raw is a controversial company and she loves being provocative.” Turns out that Alicia’s relationship with Stella was very complicated, and something that happened eight years earlier is about to have repercussions.

Alicia Bjelke is the Chief Technical Officer of Raw who, because of her repulsive appearance, stays very much in the background, and when John shows her the image of the murderer from CCTV footage, she denies recognising the man, but is immediately afraid for her own life. When Birger Falk turns up at her home, she acts to save herself.

As the two scenarios play out, events get very tangled. John displays some questionable morals, admitting that “the law – in the strictly legal sense - was no longer his guiding principle. Instead, he was deploying his own homemade moral philosophy, which seemed to take for granted that most things were allowed, if you were trying to secure your own liberty and survival.”

There’s plenty of action: a lethal labyrinth in the carpark of an ice-hockey stadium; a confrontation with cartel hit men on the roof of a shopping mall; there’s also a good dose of black humour in the disposal of a certain body, and in the interactions between some of the characters. The authors of this excellent Scandi-noir thriller throw in plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader guessing right up to the final reveal. Translation of #3, The Silent Bird is eagerly awaited.

I try really hard to find something good about books I don't enjoy but apart from the fact that I finished (because I'm stubborn) and it didn't give me a headache I gave it two stars.

This was not the book for me. I don't usually liken one thriller writer to another but this story is as far fetched as one of John Marrs wildly convoluted sagas.

I hadn't read The Bucket List but I'd heard good things about it and thought if I couldn't understand this second in the Agent Adderley series I'd read it. I certainly won't bother now.

The basic storyline is 2 sisters - the pretty one and the disfigured one run a dating website. The pretty one likes dangerous sex and one night is found dead at a site where she was meeting a date. The not pretty sister thinks she knows who did it and why and is determined not to fall victim to the same perpetrator.

Thrown into this mix is the investigator John Adderley who has come from the FBI on a witness protection programme (of which obviously none of his Swedish colleagues are aware). For reasons I can't go into he begins to manipulate evidence, witnesses and the whole course of the investigation to save his new identity.

The next piece of information you need to know is that I listened to the audio of this narrated by Dion Graham (who has apparently won awards for his work). It was awful. As if the storyline was utterly insane enough Mr Graham decided to make all the women sound like a breathy Marilyn Monroe and his male characters veered wildly from Swedish to American never mind who they were. There is even a part where we meet a drug cartel leader who was supposedly Nigerian but sounded like Pacino's Tony Montana. How we didn't hear the words "Say hello to my leetle friend" is still baffling me.

So an incomprehensible story (which gets more and more ridiculous) along with an awful narration and I was delighted when Mr Graham uttered the words The End.

3.5 Stars - A good enough but not magnificent great second book

The first book Det sista livet / The Bucket List was great, a five stars cop/agent thriller. This second is a good one, worth reading, but I just couldn’t believe the case, all characters and I’m not sure I truly like the main character John Adderley anymore. — Well, I will of course read (listen to) next part if and when it is published.

Excellent narrated by Reine Brynolfsson ... he made it to a really nice listening.

Betyg: 4 av 5 - Boken Den andra systern är den andra delen i en bokserie om krimhjälten John Adderley. Den första boken, Det sista livet, kom 2020, och var författarduons debutroman. Den utsågs då till Årets Deckardebut. Uppföljaren kom 2021, och som jag har förstått det, så planeras det fler böcker i serien. Jag tyckte mycket om den första boken, och jag tyckte nästan lika mycket om den här andra boken. Lika välskriven, lika lättläst, lika bra karaktärer och miljöbeskrivningar, lika spännande, lika oförutsägbar, men kanske något lite sämre story än i den första boken, tyckte jag. Men jag kan varmt rekommendera båda böckerna, och ser fram emot att följa bokserien i framtiden.

Tinha gostado de "Lista de desejos" por isso parti para esta leitura com alguma expectativa.
Infelizmente essas expectativas não foram correspondidas. Enquanto no primeiro livro da série gostei de John, em "A outra irmã" o protagonista teve atitudes que me aborreceram.
Neste livro os comportamentos dos personagens e o desenrolar da acção deixaram-me bastante desiludida.
A meio do livro ainda ponderei em desistir, mas terminei por pura teimosia.

Dit boek begint waar het vorige eindigde, met de afspraak die John Adderley maakt met zijn voormalige kompaan Trevor, die hem het leven redde toen ze als infiltrant waren binnen gedrongen bij het Nigeriaanse drugkartel.

Op het moment dat Trevor in Karlstad aankomt beginnen voor John de problemen pas echt en geraakt hij verwikkeld in een onuitkombare situatie. Want voor John het beseft, heeft zijn verleden hem ingehaald.

Op dat moment wordt een vrouw dood aangetroffen, Stella Bjelke. Samen met haar zus heeft ze net een nieuwe datingsite ontwikkeld. Maar Stella is het gezicht van de zaak en doet de interviews op tv, onder andere ook omdat Alicia op jonge leeftijd heel zwaar verbrand werd en de littekens hiervan nog draagt.

Voor John start een zenuwslopende periode, waar hij zijn job moet combineren met overleven. En dan ziet hij in de nieuwe zaak een mogelijkheid om volledig af te rekenen met zijn verleden, maar niets gaat zonder slag of stoot, noch zonder de nodige slachtoffers.

Ook dit is weer een heel spannend verhaal waarbij John zich compleet vastzet in zijn pogingen beide zaken op te lossen. Maar het enige wat hij uiteindelijk bereikt is zichzelf meer en meer in de nesten te werken en het ingewikkelder maken dan nodig was. En dat straalt ook in dit boek uit, de verhaallijn is heel ingewikkeld en je moet er heel goed je focus op houden om zeker niks te missen in de intrige. Waar ik heel veel sympathie had gekregen voor Adderley verloor ik het in dit boek weer een klein beetje, door zijn beslissingen om zijn acties te verhullen. Maat ik ben er van overtuigd dat Adderley een van de beste personages in een thriller reeks kan worden, maar misschien moet er in de toekomst wat consistenter en positiever met hem worden omgegaan. Nu ja, niemand is onfeilbaar noch zonder zonde.

Maar spannend is het verhaal wel. En ik weet dat er intussen al een derde John Adderley verhaal in de pijplijn zit, dus ik kijk daar alvast al naar uit.

This novel starts exactly where the previous novel ended, with John Adderley arranging a meet with Trevor, who he met on the FBI-case against the Nigerian drug mob and who saved John’s life. But with Trevor’s arrival, also comes John’s past back, and it followed him to Sweden.

A nerve wrecking period starts for John while at the same time that a new murder case is thrown in his lap. The murder of Stella Bjelke, who was stabbed and maimed with acid in her face. Stella’s sister, Alicia, thinks she might be the next victim. Especially because Alicia’s face is also maimed, from an accident that happened in her youth. And the two sisters had just developed a new dating site, does that have anything to do with her death?

John finds an opportunity to solve his personal problems through the new case, but that creates a whole bunch of new issues. And the problems only worsen when eventually there are new victims.

This book is slightly more complicated than the first in the series. The storylines mingle making for a very difficult situation for Adderley, but also quite complicated so you need to keep your head in the story, not to miss anything.

I know the authors have a third Adderley story ready, so that means I am very excited to see how his storyline continues in the future. I do hope that we get the sympathetic cop back, because his decisions in this book are often deplorable and make him a little less loveable as a character… let’s get some retribution for him in the next one. 🙌

Thank you Netgalley for the audio copy in exchange for a honest review. Alicia and Stella are sisters. Stella is beautiful and sucessful. Alicia has a disfigured face following a childhood accident. When Stella is brutally murdered former FBI agent John Adderley investigates but he has secrets of his own. Then Alicia murders the man she believed killed her sister thinking she would be next.

After reading childhood friends turned authors, Peter Mohlin and Peter Nyström’s debut novel The Bucket List, last year I was keen to get my hands on their second instalment, The Other Sister. This is new Scandi Noir and I love exploring this genre.

The Other Sister is a commendable follow up in the Agent John Adderley series and Mohlin and Nyström certainly no how to plot a fast moving and fairly riveting yarn. There’s lots to like about this book and even though it kept me page turning I felt like it was missing something for me. Perhaps I was looking for something more from John Adderley, somehow getting inside his skin a little more, grappling with the feelings and thoughts that someone in his predicament would actually truly feel and would undoubtedly send them on an emotional journey of some description. This is the essence of the genre for me and while I enjoyed this book I found it fairly linear and perhaps too ordinary.

So 3.5 stars for me but I’ll generously round to 4.

Vergeleken met deel 1 vond ik dit boek toch net wat minder leuk. Er had van mij meer focus mogen zijn op de moordzaak in plaats van het drugskartel die naar John op zoek is. Daarnaast vond ik de kat in het nauw die rare sprongen maakt ook vrij bizar en de uitkomst daarvan ook niet heel erg geloofwaardig.

Het duurde bij dit deel overigens wederom niet lang voordat ik in het verhaal zat, beide heren doen dit voortreffelijk. Voor mij had Alicia wat meer uitgediept mogen worden, haar verhaallijn vond ik erg interessant.

Den andra systern är en välskriven spänningsroman som är svår att släppa. Tonen i berättandet är fin och språket är välavvägt så läsningen flyter lätt och obehindrat. Den andra systern är en bladvändare och en värdig bok nummer två i en serie. En reflektion jag gör är att det inte märks det minsta att det är två personer som skrivit boken. Jag har ingen aning om hur just de här två författarna lägger upp skrivandet, men de skriver med en och samma röst. Historien är på många sätt obehaglig och brutal, men berättandet är så skickligt och det finns en balans med att man som läsare får ta del av karaktärernas vardag, som gör att det är en njutning att läsa Den andra systern.

Karaktärsteckningarna är väl gjorda. Alicia, som får vara en av berättarna, är en intressant karaktär med djup, och beskrivningarna av hennes relationer till människor i hennes närhet ger upphov till många tankar. Den andra berättaren är John. Att ha en svensk som bott större delen av sitt vuxna liv i USA ger en intressant dimension till berättandet. John Adderly blir en karaktär som med trovärdighet kan sätta ord på vad han finner märkligt med det svenska samhället, på ett sätt som vävs in bra i berättelsen. Eftersom John var så involverad i Det sista livet var jag lite orolig för hur mycket han skulle vara involverad i själva mysteriet i Den andra systern. Det är en fälla många deckarförfattare faller i tycker jag, att låta polisen vara alltför inblandad. Ändå så köper jag rakt av hur Johns berättelse vävs in, pga hans bakgrund och skäl till att han kom till Karlstad. Insatserna för honom är oerhört höga med tanke på vad som hände honom i USA.

Även i Den andra systern så gillar jag Karlstad som miljö för en deckare, även om författarna tydligen tagit sig vissa friheter med ställen och geografi. Det kanske skulle störa mig om jag hade mer lokalkännedom.

Jag ser verkligen fram mot fler delar i serien om John Adderly, och hoppas det är på gång. Innan dess ska jag lyssna på författarna när de besöker Svenska Deckarfestivalen i Sundsvall i höst.

Omdöme: Välskriven svensk spänning om hur det yttre kan dölja det inre.

eerder gelezen in 2022 en vond het toen 5 sterren waard. Echter daar haal ik na herlezen een ster van af. Ik vond er een aantal ongeloofwaardigheden in zitten. De verhaallijn van John leest als een trein. Maar die van Alicia vond ik wat minder geslaagd en neigde tot skippen van tekst. Al met al wel een goed boek die 4 sterren waard is.

Moje pierwsze spotkanie z tym duetem zaliczę do dość udanych!
Dobry wielowątkowy kryminał trafił w moje ręce od wydawnictwa czarnaowca.

Alicia i Stella to siostry, założyły razem firmę i bardzo popularną aplikację randkową. Alicia ma zdeformowaną twarz przez wypadek, ludzie na jej widok odwracają wzrok i udawają, że nie istnieje. Pewnego dnia Stella zostaje zamordowana, a Alicia zaczyna podejrzewać, że staje się kolejnym celem. Sprawa morderstwa zostaje przekazana Johnowi Adderleyowi - to były agent FBI, który mieszka w Karlstad i ukrywa się pod nową tożsamością.
Agent będzie musiał się zmierzyć ze swoimi problemami z przeszłości, a śledztwo być może mu to ułatwi.

Zaczęło się dość niewinnie, ale im dalej w fabułę tym było ciekawiej.
Bohaterzy z prawdziwego zdarzenia. Alicia intrygowała mnie swoim zachowaniem. Jej charakter ukształtowany przez toksyczną relacje z siostrą był dość nieprzewidywalny. Jej działania czasami były dla mnie niezrozumiałe.

Agent z bagażem doświadczeń i jeszcze większym bagażem problemów również był dość ciekawą postacią w tej historii. Nie czytałam poprzedniej części więc był dla mnie nowością, ale spokojnie tą część można czytać bez znajomości poprzedniej.

Książka jest napisana z dwóch perspektyw. Rozdziały są krótkie, stylu autorów nie mogłam odróżnić, czytało mi się ekspresowo.
Podobało mi się to, że oprócz dobrych charakterów, została pokazana też druga strona medalu - ta ciemniejsza strona człowieka. A jak wiadomo, nikt nie jest bez wad, nawet służby prawa.

Mamy tutaj morderstwo, zagadkę rodzinną i świetnego agenta - przepis na kryminał idealny. Miło spędziłam czas!

Meine Meinung:
Dies ist mein zweites Buch des schwedischen Autorenduos, welches mir bereits nach dem ersten Teil dieser Krimireihe so stark im Gedächtnis geblieben ist, dass ich mich wirklich sehr auf den zweiten Band gefreut habe
Vorweg muss man sagen, dass dieses schwedische Autorenduo des traditionelle skandinavischen Spannungsromanes treu bleiben, denn sie entwickeln meisterhaft eine bedrückenden und eindringlichen Atmosphäre, die mich als Leser sehr in den Bann gezogen hat.


Denn der Aufbau der Geschichte ist vielleicht kein richtiger Pageturner, wie man ihn aus blutigen und sehr blutrünstigen amerikanischen Thriller kennt und dennoch entwickelt dieser Kriminalroman seine eigene Spannung, die ebenso einen sog auslösen, weshalb ich dieses Buch ebenso verschlungen habe.

Dies lag zum einen am Spannungsverlauf, der stetig zugenommen hat, aber auch zwischenmenschlichen, charakterlichen Entwicklungen, die einen auf psychologischer Ebene ebenso fesseln konnten.
Hierbei empfindet man als Leser Spannung oder man kann sich einfach in einem großartigen, sprachlich sehr gut erzählten Buch verlieren, welches das Genre vielleicht nicht neu erfindet, aber dieses auf einem sehr hohen Niveau neu erzählt.


Mein Fazit:
Ein klassischer skandinavischer Kriminalroman, mit einer gehörigen Portion Spannung und Atmosphäre, welcher das Genre nicht neu erzählt, aber alt bewährtes sehr gut erzählt und dabei neue Elemente einfügt, die aus diesem Buch ein absolut großartiges Leseerlebnis machen. Herausragend sind definitiv die Erzählkunst und Schreibqualität der Autoren und deren Gespür für Charaktere und Atmosphäre.

John Adderley ermittelt in seinem zweiten Fall im schwedischen Karlstad. Die Geschäftsführerin einer erfolgreichen neuen Dating-App wird ermordet aufgefunden. Schnell gerät die Schwester der Toten ins Visier der Ermittlungen. Beide Frauen hatten seit jeher ein schwieriges Verhältnis, geprägt von Neid und Abhängigkeit. Je tiefer John in die Vergangenheit der Schwestern vordringt, desto deutlicher wird, dass der Mord nur ein Puzzleteil eines Verbrechens viel größeren Ausmaßes ist. Während John der Spur folgt, holt ihn sein altes Leben ein, das er glaubte, in den USA zurückgelassen zu haben. Und zwar mit tödlicher Wucht.
Meinung
Die Autoren treiben sowohl Protagonisten als auch Leser durch den Plot und halten die Spannung von der ersten bis zur letzten Zeile immens hoch. Das Gefühl, durch die Geschichte geradezu rennen zu müssen, wird durch die Kompaktheit der Handlung und die Straffung des Geschehens auf sieben Tage noch gefördert.
Ermittler John kam mir getrieben und gejagt vor.
Der Fall an der Firmenchefin Stella ist recht komplex, der Leser erhält Einblicke in de Erinnrungen der Schwester Alicia.
Die Auflösung fand ich dann sehr spannend unvorhergesehen und schlüssig.

Nyström i Mohlin w „Drugiej siostrze” zabierają nas w zimowe rejony Karlstad gdzie poznajemy dwie siostry Alicję i Stellę Bjelke. Młode właścicielki randkowej aplikacji RAW, wiodą w miarę spokojne życie, jednak nie jest ono wolne od tragedii i tajemnic. Niespodziewanie to na pozór sielankowe życie przerywa śmierć Stelii.

John choć sam ma nierozwiązane sprawy z przeszłości które teraz go dosięgną, będzie musiał rozwiązać sprawę śmierci jednej z sióstr.

„Druga siostra” to książka o której nie można powiedzieć, że jest zła. Mamy tu dość dynamiczną akcję otoczoną tajemnicami z przeszłości. Autorzy postarali się, żebyśmy od razu nie zorientowali się co może wydarzyć na końcu tej historii. Wydaje mi się jednak, że za bardzo skupili się na Johnie Adderleyu, przez co zabrakło im czasu, aby lepiej przedstawić czytelnikowi charaktery sióstr.

Nyström i Mohlin scalili wydarzenia z życia Johna ze śmiercią Stelii tworząc z tego kolejną intrygę w fabule, dla mnie jednak było to trochę uwierające i chyba nie w moim stylu. Dlatego John Adderley zapisuje się na liście moich nieulubionych śledczych. Według mnie „Druga siostra” jest lepsza niż „Ostatnie życie” to jednak nie była to książka wpisująca się w moje polecajki.

Een stuk minder dan deel 2 van de serie over de ex-medewerker van de fbi, John Adderly.
Nog steeds werkt hij, onder getuigenbescherming, in de Zweedse stad Karlsstad. Hij doet dat onder een valse naam.
Toch vinden medewerkers van het drugssyndicaat in Amerika, waarin hij ooit infiltreerde en waarvoor hij nu op de vlucht is, hem in Zweden. De grond onder zijn voeten wordt behoorlijk warm. Zijn vriend en collega in de fbi, die ook is uitgeweken naar Zweden, is ook door het syndicaat gevonden en overleeft dat niet.
Het wapengekletter is weer groot en daar ben ik niet zo’n groot liefhebber van. Hat geheel duurde ook allemaal wel erg lang.
Hopelijk bevalt het derde en laatste deel van de serie, dat ik nu ga lezen, beter.

Die Schweden haben’s einfach drauf. Auch Mohlin & Nyström überzeugen mit tollem Schreibstil und einer interessanten Charakterzeichnung. Der Plot beginnt vielversprechend. Die Spannung wird mit ständigen Perspektivwechseln hochgeschraubt. Allerdings wird die Spirale an einem gewissen Punkt überdreht.

Der Krimi beginnt spannend – und doch hat mich die Handlung im Verlauf dann nicht mehr so mitgerissen und überzeugt. Obwohl ich problematische und vielschichtige Charaktere mag, gingen mir die Protagonisten Adderley und Alice hier irgendwann doch ein bisschen auf den Nerv. Der eigentliche Fall wird von anderen Entwicklungen überlagert und beeinflusst. Dabei hat sich Adderley im Verlauf der Handlung ziemlich negativ entwickelt. Und auch Alice ging mir mit ihren ewigen Exzessen auf den Keks.

Fazit: „Die andere Schwester“ von Mohlin & Nyström hat sich zu Beginn schwer nach Highlight angefühlt, dann aber abgebaut. Die Protagonisten haben sich selbst immer tiefer in Probleme reingeritten. Ich fand das alles nicht so ganz schlüssig. Und ein bisschen mehr Lokalkolorit hätte der Krimi ruhig auch haben können. Allerdings haben mir der Schreibstil der Autoren und die Grundidee des Krimis gefallen. Es hat dann leider etwas zerfasert. Der Schlussteil hat mich mit den Längen und Schwächen im Mittelteil aber teilweise wieder versöhnt.

Peter Mohlin and Peter Nyström did the noir thing and made everything happen as John Adderley describes what has happened. He made Alicia's involvement in the crime disappear when it should have been a open case with Birger Falk at the time. Her sister Stella was murdered. But with several instances happening at the time do we know that for certain. It happens that Birger Falk has a daughter, Elin. Elin was in love with Stella. John makes it happen with drugs. It takes off from there. I won't give the story any further thoughts but you will be surprised how it all works out.

Bardzo fajna! Jestem chyba większą fanką pierwszej części, ale ta też bardzo przypadła mi do gustu. Było kilka fajnych i niespodziewanych zwrotów akcji, kilka rzeczy się domyśliłam. Szkoda wątku przyjaźni Johna z Trevorem, niespodziewalam się takiego rozwinięcia wydarzeń. Bardzo fajna, trzymająca w napięciu do końca!
